Though we were lucky both in the fact we found such an amazing realtor, who knew her stuff and was ready to put in the hours. The office she works at is in Salem, and we wanted a house in Silverton even though there were detours and road construction, traffic, and everyday life. Julia would go out of her way and make the drive sometimes multiple times so that we had what we needed, or were able to see the house we now made our home. Julia made this experience that is so monumental for us feel so easy and important. The peace of mind she gave us almost every night, checking up on us, double checking important steps;such as inspections, appraisal, and she was there on closing day watching us sign and being our biggest supporter and cheering us along the way. Pam McCarthy was by far the best choice I could’ve made.Pam has been there every step of the way. She answered every call or email no matter what time of day or night it was. Its really hard to believe that John L Scott has that many good reviews. Julia was totally unorganized and incompetent in her job. I started to write a long review but realized the head aches went on for the entire time (years) John L Scott managed my property and Im not sure I wanted to spend hours writing this review. The incompetence went on until the last day returning my property keys to me and then changing out the locks, locking me out of my house. I have very little good to say about this property management but they did get it rented consently. If you feel things are not right in the beginning of doing business with them listen to your gut and run to another property management. I would never recommend this business to friends or family and I would not even give them 1 🌟.

My wife and I lived in one of their townhouses in south Salem for 8 years, before recently buying a home and moving. It was a clean and well kept up unit, and a great place to live.John L Scott was extremely responsive to the few maintenance needs we had. The individuals they had perform the repairs and check in with us were also very professional and courteous to us and our dog.

Michelle is wonderful to work with, always replied to my questions in a timely manner and just made the process so easy! Would definitely work with her again.

Upon moving to Salem Oregon we rented a house through John L Scott that we really loved. Both Julia & Michelle were very accommodating during our stay in the home. We were able to file work orders easily online as well as pay our rent. I also liked that I was able to get a hold of Michelle via text message & she always responded promptly. Unfortunately, we had to move to California for my husbands work, but we do plan on moving back & when we do, we will go through John L Scott.

Suzie miller is a horrible person to deal with who does not treat her tenants equally. She entered my property along with her drunk husband without permission the night of July 6th. I was at work and my son was home alone. Police were notified. Since then she has done nothing but target me and my family while letting the neighbors do as they please even after reaching out to her several times.

Julia is by far one of the nicest people i have met she responds to anything i say or ask and always willing to help!

Julia and Michelle are the only people I’d recommend to work with. Though there were times of slow communication they ALWAYS did respond and get the matter resolved! We had some big issues after moving in and they were able to get them managed and completed. We normally own so being the first time we rented it was stressful hoping that if we needed help they would actually do it. Thank you Julia and Michelle we wish you both the best!

They were very responsive with any issues that came up, easy to communicate with, and very flexible when we were unsure about our specific move out date. I had such an awesome experience working with the ladies in the office and the owner of the property! I needed some family accommodations and they were more than willing to come up with a compromise to meet my needs. They gave me extra time to clean so I could receive most of my deposit back. When we had any problems or needed anything fixed, someone was there immediately. They were always kind and helpful. I would highly recommend renting through John L Scott.

As a landlord they did great maintaining my properties but they do need to work on their communication skills. I often had to message 3-4 times before Id get a response to a question.

Extremely disrespectful staff.When speaking with a staff member about new rental agreements that I had yet to sign she insisted I pay for a charge that I was wrongfully charged. She literally told me You have to pay this! I informed her I would not be paying anything especially since nothing had been signed. **Not a screening charge for when applying** I had already paid the application fee.(I did not end up paying the charge and it was corrected. However, the rude employee left a lasting impression. Especially since in the end she was in the wrong)I also experienced them coming to my location where I was renting and try to inspect the apartment without 24hr notice. They have been giving terrible customer service since I denied their request to inspect. (I was literally leaving the apartment as they showed up) A big inconvenience and inconsiderate.

To whom it may concern,I just wanted to write a review to express my deepest appreciation for Kit Vinson. My family and I moved from Florida to Oregon and lucked upon being able to rent a duplex on Locust St. in Stayton. Moving from FL to Oregon with 3 kids was a huge undertaking but he made getting us into a house MUCH easier. Other property managers that I contacted did not want to give me the time of day but Kit worked with us from day one. He truly cares about the places that he manages as if they were his own. I have a rental property in FL and if he was in FL I would for sure have him taking care of my property! Our duplex was exactly as described and we have never had any issues and I know if something were to come up he would have it resolved quickly. His knowledge about the area and the different departments of Stayton and the surrounding areas has helped us tremendously in our transition to Oregon. My neighbors are wonderful and speak highly of Kit also. We are very fortunate and grateful to have him as our property manager so I wanted to officially express my gratitude.

Slow to respond to request for services, poor communication and extremely slow to process security deposit refunds - they were quick to stress they “legally have 31 days to process it”Would not recommend renting from any property managed by this group.

The people at John L Scott West Salem are absolutely the best in the business. I use them exclusively for all real estate transactions. They are the nicest, most helpful people Ive worked with. Absolutely outstanding service!

Without giving too much detail at this time, I recommend that property owners and prospective tenants run, not walk, away from this company. In my opinion, the only task they are good at is collecting money when no problems are occurring. When a major problem did occur, they neither supported me nor the tenants--their only goal was to protect themselves.

Do not rent from this property management. They didn’t bother to paint or clean anything before we moved in and at move out they are trying to charge us hundreds of dollars for “damage” to an old house that had cockroaches and was dirty/old when we moved in. Just make sure you log every detail of damage and take tons of photos and videos or they will screw you over. Renters beware of scam.

Basement flooded three times in less than two years, only once did they send someone that actually did something, took them 8 months to replace a non working dryer, have been locked out three times, called and left messages to have them unlock the door, never recurved a call back, the one time I get ahold of someone they tell me I have to pick up the keys, so I had to walk 4.5 miles round trip. Id rather live in an apartment!!!!!!
