Very capable and friendly staff and practitioners. The doc is a very clear communicator and his repair work has held up well thus far. I dont always go with the work he recommends, but not for lack of trusting that he is making the right professional recommendation. He lays out the options, give you his recommendation, then fully respects your informed decision. I like that I can trust Im getting his very best effort regardless. The assistants and hygienists are equally great and keep my 8yo son and I in great shape.

Super nice, very understanding of my dental anxiety. No upselling at all. The dentist just presented the facts and relative costs of different treatment, and let me decide. I was there for pain, not to make my teeth perfect, and he addressed that without judgement or trying to make me do extra treatments that aren’t necessary.

Great experience. Everyone was super nice and helpful starting with the receptions ! I needed an emergency visit and they saw me within the hour of calling. I have nothing but good things to say about Smile Doctor! Mostly, they’re there to make your visit a pleasant one. The staff is friendly and courteous when you arrive and are leaving the office. Before my appointment, I’m reminded what procedure will be done and I’m told the dentist will see me shortly. Once in the dentist chair, the procedure is performed and I’m in and out before you know it! Yes, some procedure take more time than others. I get it! I have no regrets. Best dentist I’ve gone to. Friendly and polite but straight forward and honest. Offer a variety of services but don’t push any of them. Above all they solved my problems with my teeth chronically hurting for roughly a decade, and they did it in 1-2 appointments. Other dentists weren’t bad per se, but they did not accomplish this.

I appreciated the care given by each person who worked with me during my appointment. They were all very welcoming and kind. I felt like I was given attention and care and they were very understanding of my nerves over being at the dentist. I have to go back for other work and I know I will be much less anxious to go because of the excellent care from my first visit.

I am a new patient and they did not waste time regarding my treatment case. I was treated nicely by the staff and they were very accomodating. I actually felt ashamed of my condition by they made me feel I am in good hands. Everyone was friendly and professional. I had an emergency and I couldnt afford to go to my appointment, yet they still made sure I can get squeezed in so I can have the care I need. The dentist stayed late to help me out. The last dentist visit I had before TSD got me scared because of the treatment plan they gave me. At The Smile Dental, they explained to me the good, better and best options to choose from. I was just relieved that their focus was on restoration, not just on extracting.

I dont feel comfortable going there anymore!! People are mean and no respects for patients! Receptionists needs to work on their attitudes! They only look after your money thats it! I think I’m done:)

Everyone here was so friendly. I made an appointment, and utilized their smile assurance which basically covers scans, and a general tooth cleaning for $96.00!My dental hygienist, I don’t want to butcher her name, was so amazing. She was so knowledgable, and sweet. She answered all my questions with care, and brutal honesty, which I like (=.My check-up did reveal that I have some pricy follow-up appointments in my future, but as my dental hygienist pointed out we have these teeth until we die, and we don’t get second chances with them so let’s take care of them while we have them (unless we can afford veneers). Full disclosure, it had been a while since I had gone therefore I am making up for lost time. For you young-ins, word of the day is, maintenance!

Such a disappointing first experience at this place. TL;DR:-No mask policy enforcement (staff and patients in the lobby didnt have them on)-After 40 minutes, I was told they didnt book enough time for me to get the service I originally scheduled for (why schedule me then?)-Their staff has a terrible attitude (see below)Full version:In addition to the terrible customer service I have described below, its extremely concerning that this office doesnt enforce a mask policy for people in their facility. In the roughly one hour I was there, I saw both staff and patients (not during an exam - obviously a mask isnt possible then) without masks. Why have a policy if youre not going to enforce it? Also FYI, they offer teeth whitening for positive reviews, so its basically like buying them. Makes sense now why their ratings are higher than they should be.Re: customer service, despite booking an appointment for a dental cleaning, I was told at the end of the ~40 minutes spent taking x-rays that they didnt have time to do my cleaning and Id have to come back. Why did you schedule me then? The doctor informed me that being the last appointment of the day meant they didnt book enough time to do both imaging and a cleaning, and that I should have been told that when I initially scheduled. Clearly this was not communicated to me, otherwise I wouldnt have booked for this time slot. And who books an appointment just for x-rays? I booked a cleaning on purpose. I left work early to make it there today, and I didnt even get the service I scheduled.Rather than wait for the hygenist to finish with another patient or bother with making yet another appointment at this incompetent office, I told them I wouldnt be coming back after this experience. Especially because between the doctor and the office staff, all I got was condescending attitude, snark, and a brush off. When someone says Im sorry you feel that way (the least sincere form of an apology) or Youre clearly frustrated so theres nothing I can do for you, its lazy and unprofessional. Your office failed to communicate with me. When I expressed that, you got rude. When you make a mistake, be gracious. Its really not that difficult.

I was just going to let it go but I feel I need to share my experience with the “The Smile Doctor”. I went there to get dental implants for the bottom teeth. Once this was performed it wasn’t 3-4 months later that one of the teeth on the denture was missing when I went to put the denture back in my mouth. I contacted the office, the dentist made the insinuation that I had to have dropped them and broke it, which I did not but let it go. They make their own dentures so I had to bring them in to them to fix. Then told 2 other teeth were about to crack or fallout so I needed to replace them as well, I guess my fault too. So paid another $300 to fix all 3. Since then I had one of the pieces that are in my denture so implants can snap on to not only come out but now there is a hole left in my denture. Then one of the 3 implantS in my mouth that denture snaps on was missing one day when I went to put denture in. Don’t know what happened or where it is at, probably swallowed it for all I know, guess my fault to. I didn’t go back there this time to fix, was not going to shell out any more money to them for dentures that are cheaply made and to replace an implant in my mouth after only a year. In all paid about $3000 only to be back where I started except minus $3000.. Paid cash for all this. I will eventually try and fix all this. Already have 2 of the 3 implants left in my mouth but will definitely go elsewhere. As far as the employees that work there, very nice people, but if you are thinking about dentures or implants you might want to read this.

I like Dr Sato and his staff. The office and bathroom were clean. Lots of hand sanitizer everywhere. Very caring, friendly staff. I’m happy with them and will continue to receive my dental care there.

Smile Dr is the best! I searched for years For a good dental office to meet all areas of my needs and have now been coming here for almost 3 years. Called because they say to call them for emergencies. The person on the phone kept asking for my employers name. I dont understand why that matters. I kept telling her I have my dental insurance member ID and she sounded so confused. Ive never had such an issue with this before. Usually people can just search my insurance using the ID #. Its funny because when you call it says no hassle dentistry but that was certainly a hassle. Also idk why theyre called the Smile Doctor if its a different name when you call..

So far I am three weeks behind on my treatment. The first two week delay there were a fitting problem, needed to be re-molded and sent to the lab again. That was a two week for the second time, (another two week wait). I then return after two weeks, It did not fit correctly very tight, but I excepted it anyway so it can go to the final stages a week later. On the day of that appointment I was notified and given the excuse that The part I needed was special order and it has not come in Which we all know is a lie, evidently someone forgot to send it in or something, or no follow up was done during the week. So now that appointment is changed. Also I was being over charged by over $300. If my insurance would not have sent me a statement of the procedure they were billed for, their portion, and what my portion to pay should be. I would have excepted the amount they were charging me. This was the third dental office I have visited, my wife had been considering scheduling an appointment at this location, however she re-thought it after the last Special order excuse they gave me for cancelling my appt.They are professionals they know how long each part, and procedure take. I still have a few weeks of appointments left, Stay tuned, I will report on the final outcome, hopefully it will be better then what I have experienced this far.

I was in urgent need of a dental cleaning and x-rays and couldn’t make it to the Bay Area where my family dentist is. I went in to the smile doctor, and as most reviewers have said, the staff was very friendly and the office is clean and nice. However, they will try to sell on you on unnecessary dental work. Even though it looks and feels like a family office, I doubt it.The hygienist was extremely rough on my teeth and gums. I have never had a cavity before and have never experienced any real dental pain. This was BRUTAL! She also had a very strange bedside manner that made me super uncomfortable. She was childlike and unprofessional. Then she tried to get me to do a procedure right then and was a little pushy when I said I wanted to think about it. The cost was going to be 1700. I called my family dentist for advice and had my x-rays sent over to her. Her exact words were, “they are trying to take you for a ride.”According to my family dentist, the procedure that the hygienist was pushing is not standard practice and has no research backing it up whatsoever. It is a way for dental offices to make money. Again, I have never had a cavity or really any dental issue. So it’s really ridiculous that the hygienist was even suggesting work in the first place. The appropriate tactic, according to my family dentist, would have been to ask me to use a specific mouthwash and floss regularly and come back in 6 months to see if there was any improvement or regression.I can’t get past the fact that she was pushing a procedure that has zero scientific or medical backing. All to make a buck. I waited over a year to write this review so that I could do it fairly and unemotionally, but it’s still upsetting to me that there are professionals out there who are so keen to make money out of you that they will push for unnecessary work. Truly disgraceful.

Upon moving to Sacramento, I was experiencing some tooth pain, so i searched for a dentist who would be able to do xrays and a teeth cleaning at a reasonable rate without insurance. I stumbled upon the smile doctor. Seeing good reviews, I decided to try them. I saw the doctor who was fine - a bit pushy about removing my wisdom teeth, but generally ok. I was told i would need a “deep cleaning” which was incredibly expensive, so i shared that was not in my plans. The attitude of the dental assistant immediately shifted. I checked my phone before and after receiving my teeth cleaning - EIGHT MINUTES start to finish. That is not a teeth cleaning. I have been to many dentists and that is unacceptable. (Even called a friend in Florida who is a dentist and shared that he too thought that was unacceptable.) My feeling is, once i said i wouldn’t be spending a lot more money, they figured my cleaning didn’t matter. I have since gone to a different dentist and had a much different experience. I also never leave reviews, but i had to share this experience with others.

I needed a place to go last minute because I was having so much pain in my upper left bicuspid. They were able to take me today, and fix my tooth with an amalgam filling! Also, since I had to put some money down and make payments for the remainder, I enrolled into this program called Smile Assurance. And it’s not Insurance, it’s just a reduced amount for the cost of services. It’s going to help me a lot with future procedures:)I am so thankful for these guys! Staff is amazing, friendly and knowledgeable!!

Dr. Val is the very best, I do not like the dentist but I love her! She made is very easy and relaxing for me, someone who has a lot of anxiety about dental work. Kristel and the other staff are so awesome and accommodating, I recommended them to all my friends and family!

I recently visited for deep cleaning. Technician Zeena is so nice and professional. But front desk lady is so rude and always end up arguing with me. Dont know what is her intention is and never listen to me for any sort of paperwork or appointment or payments. I am going to find other Dentists and never visit again.

I was having severe tooth pain and they took me in just 2 hours after I called. The ladies at the front desk were very polite and helpful, the hygienist was very sweet and friendly, and Dr Denton was very polite, straightforward, and took the time to explain everything that he had to do. I needed to have a tooth extracted, and he was 50/50 about whether or not he was going to be able to do it or if he would have to refer me to a specialist. They let me decide whether or not I wanted him to just go for it or to head out to a specialist, and I decided to just have him go for it and see how it went. He wrenched on my tooth for what seemed like less than 10 minutes and pulled it right out. He did an absolutely fantastic job. It was not the most comfortable thing in the world but he got it done fast and efficiently and saved me a trip to the specialist. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good dental office. My insurance didnt help with the cost but I only ended up paying $390 which was much less than I expected. Ive been seeing Dr. Valentino Holina for several years. She is the best dentist Ive had. She is very patient centered. Most dentists Ive had make me feel like a Im a part of an assembly line. Dr Holina, on the other hand, really takes time to explain my options and helps me decide on the best solution for me. The staff is wonderful too. In particular, Zinnia. I like that Zinnia motivates me to take better care of my teeth.
