I’ve been living in ATX for going on four years now and I came across Brian after searching for new barber. After year one, Brian was officially my barber. His attention to detail, calmness, and ability to listen to the customer and understand exactly what they are looking for. I’ve been using Brian as my barber for the last four years. He’s consistent with his services and gives it 110% for every guest that enters his chair. I recently ordered the therapy session, and the professionalism was out of this world. Brian is the best barber in the area.

I’m blown away by the professionalism, passion, and knowledge Brian has. He took the time to understand my hair, my style, and then delivered a great product, while making me feel comfortable. Fantastic experience, I had an appointment with Brian for a haircut and a full shave and everything was great! Really a lost art of quality that you don’t get at your regular hair parlor these days. I really appreciated the atmosphere as well a mix of classical music, folks songs, just added the extra layer to the experience.

Great haircut for a modest price, but I got the full works: fade, razor sides, shampoo. The guy was super skilled and the interior decor was very on theme of an old time experience. Will go back again, but appointments are required. Do not try to do a walk in!

I have been going to Retro Barbershop since it has opened and I will never go anywhere else. I will drive out of my way just to get the experience. It’s not just about getting your haircut here. It takes you to a time when men were still men and could get a grown man’s haircut and be able to relax. Brian has created that atmosphere. It refreshes the soul to just be able to go. Not overly impressed by the hair cut.Fade was mediocre and a bit lopsided, and the guy cut more off the top than I wanted.I decided to pop into another barber shop to fix what was left.The place inside was nice, and they do give you a wash and a hot towel so you get that salon feel.If you are 45+ and need a corporate look, I don’t think you won’t mind this placeAnyone else that wants a sick fade and proper line up, I would look elsewhere.

I didnt know what to expect walking into a new place but after today, I have a new barber! I have never gotten better service in my life. Conversation was great and funny enough, for a guy who doesnt have a beard, he sure can shape and trim one. If you are in need then give Brian a shot at Retro Barber Shop. A place where a man can be treated like a king! Brain does an amazing cut. He pays extraordinary attention to detail. I got a hair cut and a shave and I’ve never had better in my life. The atmosphere is very cool with awesome music. As a guy it can be hard to find a good barbershop but I highly recommend checking this place out.

I received a good haircut, but waited a bit for the barber to get there. They have a fridge and offer cold drinks to patrons, which I thought was nice. But good god, you pay for it $35.00 before tip! Prices arent listed in the shop.

Fantastic place. After two visits I can confidently say this is my new shop. The atmosphere is great, they have a stuffed bear in the waiting area! Usually have some old school 80s jams going. Brian is a fantastic barber and has great attention to detail. Ive never had so many people comment on my haircuts and how good I look as I have had after visiting. This place is amazing!!

Fantastic haircut! Extremely pleased. Used to go to the typical chain haircut places. However, for a few dollars more, I got a great haircut. Retro is my new place.

Strongly recommend and I didnt even get a haircut. I have my beard trimmed and straight razor cut. The price seemed a tad high at the time. But, after what was done I dont think it was overpriced at all. The person who took care of me spent probably around 40 minutes making sure everything looked right. I will go back to this establishment. My rating is appropriate.

I’ve been meaning to review this shop for quite a while now. I simply love this retro barbershop. I’ve been coming since it opened and they never disappoint. I often come early to see what’s on Brian’s playlist that day and relax a bit before my appointment. I’ve had several haircuts and a couple shaves here. I was incredibly impressed by the straight shave since I have very sensitive skin but Brian made it feel effortless and my face has never been so smooth. I usually try out different variations of a fade when I come in and after about a year I found my favorite cut and length (every cut I got looked great). I’ll be coming back for years to come. Brian is a Master if his craft and it shows in his finished product. 5 stars highly recommend!

Brian does such an amazing job. I had a surprise for the birthday man and had no clue what I had planned. He has never had this experience. This was our 1st time and we will definitely be back! Thank you Brian you are so personal with your clients and love the one on one!!!

My son and I went in to try out Brians new shop.Shop was nice, clean and welcoming.Brian gave me a nice haircut, took his time, added the little touches I like to see, using hard brush, trimming eyebrows and ears etc....Also had patience cutting my 2 year old who was not an easy customer.I will definitely be returning, price is on par with other barbers but you get shampoo and extra touches and Brian doesnt rush through it. Also he offers beverages.Kids price was a bit pricey, but they are work so I guess it is what is, but maybe not as frequent. With 2 kids under 5 I cant justify $50 each time.And big props to Billy the Bear for keeping my son entertained while I was getting my haircut!Keep it up Brian and Billy! See you guys soon.

It has been great finding The Retro Barbershop. The personal care I get and the quality of the haircut and shave is awesome. Takes me back to my younger days when the barber would get the straight razor out and trim the neck and around the ears. And then end with a splash of Bay Rum. A very clean shop and great service.

Came here to get a cut and shave. I tried to call to make an appointment, but the number goes to someone who says book online. Went online with no prices listed.I drive down there and before I step foot inside, guy says, do you have an appointment? You have to book online.So I left. This is not a retro barbershop, and Id think its maybe overpriced fades for people who just want retro in the name, but dont want a good old fashioned barber shop.Take your business elsewhere.

Although the place looked nice, had couple of issues.I had multiple cuts on my neck and ear after the barber used the razor. I dont know if the razor wasnt sharp enough or not, or what was causing the problem. Never had this many before, and how I got a cut on my ear(on the tragus) is beyond me.The second issue is the pricing, on the website it says $35 for the retro cut, but when youre setting up an appointment, the price jumps to $40.Last issue was that my appointment was changed without asking me(pushed 15 minutes). Things happen and I can let this one go, but I shouldnt get a text message 30 minutes before saying that my appointment was changed, you can call out of courtesy to ask me first. If I was 15 minutes late, you wouldnt be so happy, would you?Especially for the price I was charged, I was disappointed to say the least.

Great barber shop! Ive been looking for a place like this closer to my home and was eager to try it out when referred by a friend. Im happy to say I was very pleased with the result. This is old school in the right way: Great skill at cutting and trimming with modern conveniences like easy online booking. Youll pay a little more than you would at a place like Sport Clips, but the quality, attention to detail, and atmosphere are consistently better. Cant recommend this place enough!

I went to work afterwards and people were asking where did I get it cut. Now I’ve had people notice when I get a hair cut but never where did you go. That’s saying a lot. I spent about a year looking for a good barber in the Georgetown, Roundrock, Hutto area after mine moved out of town. I found Brians shop and love it. Always clean and relaxed atmosphere. Free drink while you wait too. He works alone and is pretty pushy about appointments, which is understandable. The one negative that Ive noticed is that he can feel rushed when he gets a little behind and doesnt pay as close attention as he normally would. But otherwise, hes very meticulous. Highly recommend.

Came in as a walk-in and Brian greeted me at the counter. Love the old school look and feel he gives his shop. He gave me exactly the look I was going for and where else can you go for a full service wash, massage cut and shave nowadays? This barber shop is legit. After my previous barber retired I was lost trying to find someone to tame a luxurious beard and a hair that is fading. I have been to some bad places and ok places but Brian is top notch. Treating my beard with the respect it deserves and fade that blends in. Some people look for a forever home and others look for a forever barber. I think I found my barber to last through the ages. I would definitely recommend Brian and his shop.

I started at this place when it first opened and it was a nice, eclectic hidden gem with Brians off-beat music selections and oddness. Then he gets a little busy and visited by an overseas investor/consultant and his prices go up significantly (unannounced) . For basic cuts. He is a one trick pony who doesn’t have much knowledge beyond the types of styles he likes (see reviews). Sure, he can shave a man bald. And his appointment system is sooooo annoying and obnoxious. All this may work in Pennsylvania, where he came from, but it won’t fly in Round Rock, TX for long.There are similar barbers who can easily do what Brian does for less, especially if you need your haircut every two weeks. This guy listens to the wrong people and has gotten a little full of himself.

Worst haircut experience in 35 years. We talked about what i wanted. . . Then he did something completely different. . . Because it was what HE liked. Will wear a hat for 3 weeks till it grows out and I can get a competant barber.

Walked in at 9:09am on a Saturday. Door obviously says walk ins welcome. Upon walking in was yelled at to not touch the door!? Not sure what that was about. Kinda hard to open a door without touching it. Anyways There was one customer in the shop. The employee (Hopefully not owner) then asked if I had an appointment. I stated no. He stumbled his words a bit, scratched his neck and claimed there wasnt an opening till 1:30pm. Well thats a lie. Its a shame, I was looking forward to this place. Im sure others wont have this experience, but unfortunately I did and honesty goes along way. But when you clearly pull a time out of thin air without actually looking at a schedule of appointments to deter me from waiting....Bad service .This response contradicts itself: First, we do appointment only, and you can do an online booking. Everywhere says appointment only, including the google map that you used to find this place. The sign walk-in welcome is obviously for walk-ins, as long as there is availability.
