Its a clean, well kept shop thats been open for a few years. Theres 6 chairs and its usually pretty busy.Definitely call ahead for availability if youre a first-timer, or plan on a little wait if you just walk-in.Most barbers are cash only. I recommend Duke if hes available. He does a good job on my hair and my sons. Even a retro 80s #bowlcut 😆!💈💇‍♂️💯

Doonans website, social media posts and front door all assure customers they are doing their part to be COVID complaint including wearing face masks and practicing social distancing.When I went to their shop to get a cut there had to have been no less than 20 people in the shop (1/3 children) and not a single person was wearing a mask. There was a complete disregard for customer and employee safety.I was asked to remove my mask, when I explained I didnt feel comfortable doing so my barber explained they couldnt cut my hair without doing so. yet a few weeks ago I was able to go to a barbershop around the corner and get a perfectly good hair cut without removing my mask. I had to hold my mask up to my face the entire cut.Say what you want about COVID and the effectiveness of masks, but there are state mandated protocols in place that Doonans has consciously neglected. And further more, they have blatantly lied to their customers by assuring them they are taking their health into account when they are obviously not.

My 1st time there. My favorite barber (Samantha) recently started working at Doonans. I thought it was great. Had a good vibe. Was busy.

Doonans barber shop: when walking intkk on the building, there were five barbers closed off together that were not wearing their masks. Everyone was close together, even the people who were waiting inside. They give out masks complementary but don’t practice the value. If you want Covid, go to this place.

I had an appointment with my barber, ( I don’t need to mention any names) he knows who it is. So my appointment was at 5:30, I arrived at 5:25. I received a text saying “Any chance we can reschedule? I had totake off sorry bro” I wrote _______ I got to your shop and they said you had left but not one person knew thatyou had even left. I got a text saying sorry bro I had an emergency come up I will give you a haircut for half price on Friday. If I had an emergency and a client coming in I would definitely tell one of my co-workers to tell my client that he had to leave due to an emergency!! NOT wait until I text you !!!!! Very UNPROFESSIONAL, especially if there is no communication with your co-workers.Not even a phone call, but instead I get a text. Incredible!!!!!

My appointment went down similarly to a few other customers unsatisfactory experiences. I set an appointment for 3:30, I arrived at exactly 3:30 on the nose, and upon arrival, I tell one of the guys, Brian, (shop owner) I have an appointment scheduled, and he responds to me saying that my barber had left and I couldn’t schedule another appointment until “maybe” another 30 minutes. My barber hadn’t even given me the decency of contacting me to tell me he wouldn’t be able to make it to my appointment. I had to get up and drive 25 minutes to their shop to be told that my appointment was unexpectedly canceled, because he left. This is unprofessional, and I felt very disrespected by how the owner handled the situation. They should have had the decency to tell me about my appointment being cancelled, or even needed to be rescheduled. As a first time customer, who wanted to try this place, I recommend you don’t make the same mistake I did, and book with someone else.

It seems to be appointment only, but for a very good reason. These guys are true barbers. I called Monday morning, during the beginning of Phase 2 reopening, and got in 2 days later. It just happened that the government decided to let salons and barbers open up on the same day as my appointment. What luck!!When I arrived, the 2 barbers were very friendly and welcoming. As they are private contractors, my appointment was preset with a specific barber, Duke. Duke was just finishing up with his previous client and even though I was 15 mins early I only waited 5 minutes. In the first 2 mins of sitting in the barbers chair I knew he was extremely skilled in his craft. After asking how long he had been a barber I was taken aback. Duke was a 3rd generation barber with over 20 years experience to boot!! He was like Edward Scissorhands, yet gentle, efficient, and very friendly. And at the end when the paper collar is removed to finish the back of a mans hair, he used shaving cream and a straight razor as to not irritate the skin!! Very classy!! For $25 you cant beat the experience! I used to go to a $6.99 haircut lady, but not anymore. This is a bargain for $25. I definitely WILL be going again!! 5 stars!!

This is a fantastic barber. I take my boys here. Its your true barber shop, all the men do great cuts, just how you like, no matter how picky you are.It appears to be men/boys only. Which makes it nice.They are generally busy. No appointment necessary, typically.But if you get in on a walk in, make sure you get a card of the person you seen, if you liked them.Chances are next time you might not get in on a walk in.Best barber Ive ever taken my boys too, I know a few men who also go there, who say the same.

Barbers here are great. Not the cheapest but its great for the price. Everyone is amazing nice and talented at what they do.Certainly come here if you need a hair cut whether its for a special occasion or a touch up.

Best barber in Roseville hands down. We tried many different places after moving here and finally found Eric at Doonans. He does a great job at a fair price and is quite good with my sons.

Friendly a little small for seating but great atmosphere not much cussing or bad words very little with concern good place great guys friendly.

Good place for simple hair cuts. Especially if you dont care what youre getting. Not what I was looking for. Went here twice. First time I waited to grow my hair back. Second time I have to fix the guys work and waiting for it to grow out so I can find a better place. Sadly I think great clips or super cuts can do a better job.

The Duke is why I drive out of my way to go there. He is very skilled at hair and beards.

I have lived all over the country and had a barber at each stop along the way. This place is legit- casual atmosphere, high quality cuts, and good value. Brian is as skilled a barber as I have ever encountered. There are lines for a reason- this place is the best.

A REAL Barbershop. Great for all haircuts, fades, and all styles. I recommend making a reservation with one of there 4 barbers. That tells you something that people are willing to make a reservation to get a hair cut.

Took my 11 year old son here a few weeks ago. This place was great. We only had to wait a few minutes because I did not know they accepted appointments. Well worth wait!!! He lived his haircut and so does everybody else. Definetly coming back but Im making appointment next time.

Im a senior in high school and fairly new to barber shops. Im not too proficient on haircut terminology, so going in for the first time, I knew I would have to ask the barber some questions. My first visit was good. Darin cut my hair and did a great job. At this point I was well satisfied with Doonans, casual atmosphere, seemingly nice guys, and great cuts. It wasnt until I got the owner of the shop to cut my hair. Brian is a very talented hair stylist. He did my hair very well in the end, but it seemed very hard for him to deal with someone who doesnt have a lot of knowledge on haircuts. If I asked him a question, he would rudely answer me and question me asking him. I was very uncomfortable during the entire haircut because he seemed very annoyed. When I got done with the cut I was satisfied and at this point was going to give him a small tip, but realized that I only had a $20 bill. So I needed change for a $5 in 1s. Coarsely looking at me and proceeding to reach in his cluttered cabinet to find $1 bills, he hands me a $5 bill and literally gestures me out the door. Before I could even think about handing him at least a $1 bill, he calls up the next customer like im non existent. At this point, I decided to ignore this and keep my composure until I wrote this review. I definitely will not return to this place ever again and do not recommend this place to anyone who wants good customer service and an organized staff.

Horrible customer service! They barely even acknowledge that your there. The person cutting my husbands hair was literally rolling his eyes and sighing when my husband asked him to trim a little more in the back. Observing the other fellows that do hair they also seem to have an attitude and bad manners. The cut itself was great but wouldnt go back because of the poor customer service.

I take my son here as the childrens barber area (Tangles) is located in the back of Doonans. The people in Doonans are very friendly and very talkative with the kids as we were waiting our turn for a hair cut. The man who cuts my sons hair was very patient with him when he was getting his first hair cut. Very friendly with the kids and have cartoons on for them as they get haircuts or for distractions. I wont take him anywhere else but here.
