Tim and his staff are highly knowledgeable I would recommend them to anyone if it is broke they can fix it if youre like me I put gas in and go dont know much about cars they would explain it to you until you understand very trustworthy I would recommend them to anyone

My family has been using TJS since they went from a gas station to a service center. The work has always been top notch, reasonably priced, and done in a timely fashion. Very trustworthy!!

Ive been going to TJs for a few years now and will only take my car to them. I feel they are trustworthy, friendly, do a good job and are very professional. They have only told me about things that really needed replacing and dont try to sell you things or run up your bill and explain things about whatever you need to know about. I feel confident in TJs.

My 81 year old widowed grandma came here for a fairly simple issue, and when she came back she was told her tires needed work. She agreed to let them do this, but when she came back they said the needed to fix her brakes. Again she agreed, but she came back to change her mind and saw that they were in the middle of disassembling the brakes without even touching the tires. Whats worse, when she came home and told her neighbor, an 87 year old widow, her friend said that the same thing happened to her, but another mechanic said that she didnt need any work done at all.

My cars warranty has recently expired so I decided to give TJs a try for my auto service because I dont like overpaying at the dealer. I had seen TJs ads on TV for years, and even though it is across town from me, I though it would be worth trying a locally owned business. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service, communication, and follow up I received. Im 100% satisfied with my experience and I will be back for future automotive care needs.

Was having an issue with my A/C. I got estimates from you need a new compressor to a new engine & compressor and tire. Youll also have to bring a unicorn 🦄, click your heels 3 times 👠👠& will take 2-3 Weeks. Estimates were $500-$5000???TJS got me in the next day. One day easy repair $175. EXCELLENT WORK. CURTIUOS HONEST PROFESSIONAL! I cant RECCOMEND them Enough THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am very loyal... I was going to some place else.. PAID a bit more for for my oil changes but up to now PREVIOS ESTABLISHMENT was always good to me.. ILL pay for quality not the run around.. (I was also in the Automotive business for 15 years.. everything from sold cars, service drive, F&I, GM. I want people to make money..but please be reasonable.)TJS FOR THE WIN!!!

I am so pleased with TJs. They have never let me down. Their prices are reasonable and they work with you. Tim really seems to care about your car and does a wonderful job explaining problems and recommended repairs. Both Peggy and Tim are very nice people. The mechanics are also friendly and hardworking. I am always rest assured that I am in good hands whenever I bring my car in for repairs. The best in Rockford for auto care and exceptional service!

It is very hard nowadays to find honest and professional mechanics. TJs will definitely be getting my business moving forward. You wont regret going here! Honest, professional and they value their customers!

TJs is the only place my family and I will bring our cars. They are very honest and caring and they have very fair prices. They take care of my vehicle and alert me of concerns when they arise. They do great work and are wonderful people. I highly recommend them to everyone I know.

These guys are top notch . Get you in and out, and more then fair on $$$ . Customer service is 1 and a million . Family owned and ran kinda place and when Im there I feel like family. Definitely not your back yard mechanics, they know what there doing . They tackle just about everything and If they cant do what you need there for whatever reason(s) they got someone they know who theyll send you to. The work Ive had done there on my car has been above and beyond . Talk to the chief his name is Tim or his grandson Eric and theyll take care of you .

I went here after my son-in-law had some work done. He was happy with the way things went for him, so I decided to give them a try. A buddy had replaced some suspension items for me, but I needed an alignment after that work. I scheduled for Tuesday but ended up dropping my van off on Sunday night. They managed to get me in and done on Monday, The price was in the range I expected. Overall a really good experience. Honest and fair. They are my new go to place.

Had my Honda CRV in for complete brake job and grease oil filter. They did an outstanding job, on time, and exactly to the penny of the estimate. I drive my car to Chicago every week and I feel very safe with my new brakes from TJ’s.

Great service. They treat each car as if it were their own. Always given an exact quote of what is needed and what it will cost. Friendly, honest, good people and my car has always been ready when stated. Aggressive covid-19 precautions that are enforced.

Tim and his staff are excellent and, most importantly, honest about the work needed to be done on our vehicles. We have always been very pleased!

Had a car towed with a likely bad starter. Wanted to charge $150 for a diagnosis despite it being a common problem. I understand being charged a diagnosis fee, but most places don’t seem to charge for the first 15 minutes as a courtesy, especially if they are just confirming what you think is broken. Claimed not be able to bring the car in because the front wheels were locked, and that it would also be an additional charge for his time to try to get it in the garage, and threatened to start to charge storage fees when I asked if I could just have the towing company come back and put the car in the shop. He also lied about the wheels being locked, the guy from the towing company had no issues as I watched him get all 4 wheels moving without difficulty in neutral when I got it towed to another shop, whose mechanics literally looked at the car for 15 minutes before calling me and telling me it’s the starter. They did not charge for that diagnosis. Take what you want from that experience.

Will give you the rundown on what is really going on with your car, and they wont try to sell you a bunch of unnecessary repairs. If they say it needs to be fixed, its in an attempt to save you a BUNCH of money and hassle down the road. I learned that one the hard way.

Trustworthy & SafetyThese words are hard-pressed to be used about the car industry, especially when it comes to repair shops.Id like to be specific about what I like about them, but its difficult to say. Have you ever gone to a place and just feel comfortable & good about it? This is that kind of place.The last repair shop I took my van to prior to TJ’s, did something seriously wrong that could have had serious consequences on our familys lives. When we brought it to their attention, they did not take any responsibility nor would they acknowledge that their pridefully mechanic was arrogant when I spoke to him personally.I highly recommend giving this business a try if you are on the lookout for a reliable and safe auto repair shop. Its one of those services in life youd rather NOT spend money on, so-spend wisely & give this place a try. If you do try this place & like it, post a review here and yelp to keep businesses like this going.( I like to tease T J Auto because they keep fixing the van when it acts up therefore my husband won’t buy me a new car! TJs has earned my trust over the years. I brought my car in and there was a lot wrong with it. TJ quoted me a fair price and was kind enough to include a couple things for free. The result is my old car runs like new. I thank God that I have a great mechanic. Not many people in the world can say that.

I had a vehicle towed there when my wifes car would not start. They diagnosed a head gasket issue and quoted me a repair cost and a rebuilt engine replacement. I asked if we could have some time to think it over as it was a considerable expense. They agreed and after a few days we decided to recover the vehicle and scrap it. They charged us for their diagnosis (as expected) plus storage fee for the time my vehicle was at their shop. They never told us there would be a storage fee during the time we made our decision nor have I ever been charged a storage fee by any mechanic. I protested the fee but they would not budge so I paid the bill and will never go back.

Tim got us in and out in no time. Thoroughly inspected the car and fixed it. Gave us prices and options on other things to think about in the future.
