Bought a decent well priced first car from the owner i believe his name was Don, I patiently waited about a month and a half for them to fix up the car and make everything look great! the first two weeks i had the car i noticed something was up so i went in and thankfully they fixed everything ( windshield defrosters and the passenger door) for free ( although why would they sell me the car knowing their were issues?) Now fast forward 3/4 more months and the car has totally broke down and i have to get a brand new transmission... W T F.. im a college student so i dont exactly have that kind of money to throw around but i do depend on my car for transportation to get to school,work and home.. needless to say i will not be returning their to get my car fixed or recommend anyone else purchase from here.

Missed diagnosed an AC problem. Replaced the compressor and did a complete AC service for $850 which only fixed the problem for one day! Returned five times in two weeks with the same AC problem as original problem. They finally found and diagnosed the problem was the electrical plug connector on the AC clutch. They replaced the connector with a used one and did a hack job of splicing the wires and covering with electrical tape. The owner would not admit they misdiagnosed the problem or offer a credit for the outrageous poor service. I should have gone to the Nissan dealer. Instead I paid $850 dollars more than I had to for a $5 dollar part. When I saw the hacked repair job I had to solder the the wires and seal with heat seal shrink tubing myself to prevent future corrosion. I would not recommend this shop or ever do business with them again even if I was broken down in front of their shop. Stay far away from this place......

Let me re adjust my most recent review, screw this place. Had to buy a whole new transmission, breaks, fuel lines, doors and seal multiple leaks. Basically re building the entire car from the inside out, I recently realized that when i went back after a week or two of having my car and asked them to fix it i mentioned how my gas was basically being guzzled( filled my tank and two days later it would be empty and its not like i was driving that much, only to work at home and my job is only 10 mins away) which mind you they said nothing was wrong with it BUT it is A SIGN YOUR TRANSMISSION IS FAILING, which they failed to address at all. Tem sted is just generally dishonest with their customer. I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE TO NEVER GO HERE. They basically screwed me out of 4,000$ with a car that lasted less than a year.

I have been taking my car to Temstad for many years now. Theyve kept my ancient car running without breaking the bank! Good price on changing out snow for regular tires. Bonus points for the very well trained and beautiful standard poodle who often hangs out behind the counter.

My daughter bought a car from this scammer. He said he’d give me a deal and knowing I was Struggling he offered to let me make payments for a car. He had me pay way to much for the car that has had nothing but problems. And now something else just went wrong w the car and he said oh yea I can Fix it for a charge. Yea no thank you he is a rip off. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone!! Then told him I coukdnt Afford this car the gas. He told me he would trade me outright for a smaller car. But of course now that he has his money he’s not honoring what he said. His word means NOTHING. AND I WILL BE LETTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU KNOW ABOUT HIS SHADY DEALINGS.

Ive been going there for about eight years. I used to go to Schraders, who are also very good. But when I bought a Prius 12 years ago, I started going to the dealer for service, because I was concerned that local garages couldnt handle the new technology. Several horror stories later, I tried Tempstad, mainly out of convenience. They have been great. They are quick, honest, professional, economical, and my car has suffered no major problems.

Great place, been going there for 25 years. Never tries to upsell, just does whats needed to keep me on the road.

I liked the convenience of this local shop the first few times I utilized their services. I was even willing to pay a bit more because I didn’t have to go far, and the staff was friendly and accommodating with my schedule. My opinion has changed after I needed my ebrake fixed to pass inspection. I brought it to them twice because I could hear grinding sounds from the ebrake. Twice they charged me the hourly rate for labor - but they didn’t fix anything. That’s $180 dollars that I had to pay and I walked out of the shop with no repairs done to my car. I found a mechanic in East Rochester that was cheaper with labor and took the time needed to properly fix my vehicle so it would pass inspection. It’s worth the drive and inconvenience to get a mechanic that puts your needs ahead of making a buck. My opinion? Look elsewhere.

Brought my car here for a window repair on the recommendation of a friend. They fixed it, but there was a terrible, and obvious, whistle once you got above 40mph. Took it back, they looked at it and found nothing. I had to take a guy for a drive so he could hear it. They fixed it again. The whistle changed pitch, but was obviously still there. This went on a few more times. I talked with the owner and he tried to convince me thats just how it was supposed to be. I disagreed, and they took it back, and basically just put foam and all kinds of crap in until the whistle went away. A squeek has remained ever since. This extremely poor service, on top of issues with the car not being ready several days after I was told it would be, prompt my poor review. Try another shop.
