Went in to get brakes checked out. Asked for an estimate to replace brake pads. Was told by the gentlemen at front desk you HAVE TO replace all rotors and pads because its the only way to do it which is a flat out lie. Anyone who has basic knowledge of how brakes work in an automobile can confirm this. This is all before they even inspected them! Brake pads and rotors are two separate parts and do not wear at the same rate. He then proceeded to tell me it would cost $850!! Went to a qualified mechanic who found the rear pads were worn, one rear rotor was bad, but the others were all in great shape including the front brake pads. Bought my own platinum pads from advance auto parts for $53 with 18% discount and paid $127 for a new rotor and labor to replace the rear pads. Front pads are hardly worn at all. Brakes are working great. Be sure to get a second opinion if you get a quote that doesnt sound right. Dont let them fix it if it aint broke! Unless you want to be broke too. Its a shame places like this act this unprofessional.

I have used Macs II for auto body work on a number of occasions over the years. Their services are the best of any business Ive ever dealt with. Their body work is done with the most punctilious perfection. Your car comes back to you looking better than before the fender-bender that sent you to them. The advice and help from their knowledgeable staff is up to the same standard of perfection. In this regard I single out for special praise Bruce, manager of their collisions operations. They are very smart people who know their stuff and whose insight has helped me get the best possible result. Their work is prompt, their interaction with the insurance companies is seamless, their responsiveness to their customers is exemplary. So is the timeliness of their responses. If anything can take the sting out of having your car hit, its being able to work with people like those at Macs II to get it fixed. From start to finish, and point-for-point, Macs II is the very best. I wouldnt think of taking my car anywhere else. And for the record, I have no relationship with Macs II, its staff or owners other than that of a very happy and satisfied customer.

I have used Mac II for all my car work for more that 35 years. The reasons I go there are many. They do the job right and on the rare occasions when it isnt right, they fix it immediately. They are trustworthy and never try to push a repair that isnt necessary. They may be a bit expensive, but in the long term it pays off in reliability, convenience, and avoidance of bad repairs. In short they do what they say they will do and when they said it will be done. And they will drive you and pick you up anywhere you need to go.Yesterday I was reminded of all this. I was coming into Rochester for the day for some appointments and heard a ratting sound from my car. This was a problem for me because I needed to return to the North Country in the afternoon and couldnt be stranded somewhere on I-81. I called Macs and asked (Walter) if they could take a look at my car. Despite the fact they they were fully booked, they made time, fixed the broken exhaust bracket, and refused to accept any payment.This is why I go back, even while living out of town. This is the way a business should be run.

Fantastic service! Very friendly, excellent work. Our car was in an accident and Macs 2 was able to fully repair the car much sooner than we expected, considering the damage. They offered to take care of setting us up with a car rental and were quick to answer any questions we had concerning the repair. Thank you for the excellent work you did and while we hope to never have to see you under the same circumstances again, it’s good to know that there’s a grade A body shop just down the road.

I had never needed collision work before and I was very happy I went here. They took care of the car rental and stuck to the time line they laid out. Car turned out great and I cant say enough positive things about the people who work here.

Took my car in to have new tires put on that I already purchased they charged me $80 to get rid of the old ones then they tried to have me replace low pressure sensors for an additional 250 bucks but come to find out once the new tires were put on and the pressure was fine the light went off.. went back two weeks later because I had a nail go into one of the tires and I needed a plug put in and they charged me $29 for a plug

Ive been going here for years for my cars. The staff has always been kind, and caring. They treat you like youre part of their family. Very honest and trustworthy place to get your car fixed. Even if all you need is an oil change, theyll still take care of you. They have a shuttle service as well, which is incredibly convenient. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else!

Ive been taking my cars to Macs for 7 years now, they always take good care of me. Whenever I have an emergency they get me in right away and do the job for a great price. The car is done on time and theres no surprises when you get to the register. Theyre honest people and explain all of the ins and outs if you want to know--best in Rochester.

Long story short, these guys took care of me in an emergency situation when I was 8 hours from my destination, had I of made it in earlier instead of a couple hours before closing I most likely wouldve been back on the road same day. Friendly staff, great customer service, very clean and well maintained facilities. 5 star would definitely recommend.

I took my 2011 Chevy Malibu in because it was sluggish in first gear. These guys told me, Its a known problem with GM vehicles, but they dont know whats causing it, and we dont know how to fix it. Its just something that comes with having an older car. A bit of internet searching of my own came up with a half dozen possibilities, including timing. Fast forward to a few months later, and Im out $1,300 and ALMOST BLEW UP MY ENGINE because of a VERY well-known problem with this year Malibu where the timing guides go bad and cause the chain to slip.

The service was outstanding and very professional. Facilities are clean and modern, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The car was completed when promised. This service included both body and mechanical work. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We had some work done on my wifes SUV after a minor fender-bender. Jeff S. (one of the managers) was fantastic to work with.... he coordinated with the insurance company, communicated clearly and honestly every step of the way, met deadlines and was friendly and flexible.After the initial work was complete, there was another issue with the electrical connection to one of the doors.... no problem though, Jeff went over and above and completed figuring out what the cause of that was and fixed it at no charge and no hassle.Macs II would be my first call if I ever needed any repair or body work done in the future - no hesitation whatsoever!!

I’ve gone to Mac II’s for years and would highly recommend them for any kind of car work, mechanical to collision! They are honest, fair and very friendly!

I dropped off my car, because it was idling rough. They diagnosed the car and told me it was a bad Idle Air Control valve. They gave me the bill and broke down the cost of the parts and labor. I opted to replace the valve myself, but the shop was great about answering my questions about the repair. Friendly and knowledgable staff. They get high marks for not pressuring the customers to get the repair done by them.

Their services were great at first. Later their services started to suck and their prices are getting expensive. I took my car there to get it fix and they made it worse.

Always excellent work cheerfully done. And they stand behind it. A terrific place.
