Steve and the guys at Jims Auto are VERY trustworthy. We used to go to Blacks Auto across the road, but they were gouging us and adding stuff all the time and pressuring us to make the repairs. Since weve switched to Jims (maybe 5 years ago?), we havent felt this feeling of being had, and we respect Steve and his crew for this. Jims is a every-mans auto care shop - if you want to fix everything, they will. If you need to pick a *priority* repair, theyll help you make sure you are safely on the road to wait until you can afford the next repair. Theyve warned me against expensive repairs that arent worth it, for example the $900 part for a rear windshield wiper. They are just real guys trying to help the local driver and earn an honest living along the way. Ive gotten a helpful tow in a blizzard, some help locating a new/better vehicle, advice on when to throw in the towel on a vehicle, times when we expected a major repair, and they found it was a smaller issue... They are an honest business in every experience my wife and I have had. I saw some ppl with some terrible reviews. MAYBE this happened, maybe not. Maybe it was a 1-time deal with a crummy employee. However, I do highly doubt it, and in the meantime, see others testimonies, which are resoundingly positive.

I came here because they were recommended by a co-worker. The first time was fine, but after today I will never go there again. I called ahead to make an appointment for an oil change and they said they would be able to give me a shuttle ride to work as long as I got there early. I showed up at 7:30 and waited until 8am. Still no shuttle. Every time I asked they said it would be there soon... Ended up having to take my keys back, drive myself to work, and barely got there in time. Dont depend on the shuttle.

Been going to Jims for almost 3 years and have never been let down. He is fair, easy to talk to (most mechanics are not), gives honest opinions and is priced competitively. Ive never had to take a repair back to him to be redone. Highly recommended!

I have always had a great experience at Jims Auto Care. They know what they are doing and they do not pressure you into doing any extra work. I have suggested them to my friends and family. They are also local. They know Rochester and the surrounding area. They are great to talk to when they are taking you or picking you up from work.

This is an outstanding auto shop. They are trustworthy and honest and go out of their way to meet customers schedule and needs. Im a single woman and have never felt patronized. They also dont try to push me to have more work done than I need. Steve and Keith are great to work with.

These are good guys, I understand some may have different experience. As far as our family is concerned they are honest and get the job done at a fair price. They work on all of our cars, Nissan, HUMMER, Alero. Stand by the work, and will work with you when you are in a pinch. Good folks, they are our families go to guys.

My car broke down near Jims shop during rush hour, and we got it to their parking lot to get it away from traffic. Because the car isnt worth repairing, they were very gracious about letting it stay there until I could arrange to tow it away. Keith is a very warm and friendly gentleman and Im grateful there are people like him around.

I just read some previous bad reviews on the business, and they are absolutely bogus! I have been going to this auto care business for years, & not one time have I had a bad experience! they always help me they always offer suggestions they always try to save me money and they always have time for me and they act like Im not taking up their time. I think some people just have a bone to pick and they want a complain because they can! This is a 5 star plus business and I will continue to give my business to them! If you live and love cars and are a automotive enthusiast you need to take the time to read this love story friendsThis is a stressful story Involving weeks of bad shops and careless people.I ran into Steve from Jim’s years ago at a local restaurant, such a nice man had no idea he owned his father shop (Jim’s) and is a total car enthusiast!! As am I,I do all my own automotive work and repair, now today my loved ones 2015 jaguar xfr supercharged modded sedan making just short of 650hp! and highly performance modded with aftermarket goodies hit a deer and has took a nasty bite into the frame and shaped the cradle it’s a mess ...well a local shop was haulted by me!!because there inability to care for a car and grasp the love some of us carry for the automobile addiction people like Steve and I do,I surprised him at his shop today he was running around his shop and I noticed he cleans his hands, shoes and goes out of his way to keep even this old crappy truck that is on its last leg that he was working on at the shop as clean as when it got there.I waited a bit and couldn’t help but to notice how well all the cars around the shop where parked and and really carried a pro look..And then it really hit me I opened the door into the building and I’m telling you people you could eat off the floor! It’s dust free comfortable and welcoming!!It was a fed split of family and car photos!Gets better a technician Notice me in the show room that’s all glass so you can see your car being cared for!He is well dressed but covered in debri from working, you could tell this job was labor intensive!! and puts his work on hold washes his hands and politely offered to help me.. with clean hands!This is something that is a must with people like me I’m so happy I lost some money and denied the first shop going any further!! and took this car to Steve at Jim’s there team has put mine and my wife’s head at ease while he has weeks worth the work with our jaguar! Just ordering the overseas parts is frustrating enough and he has been talking that task on with a smileThis is one of only a hand full of shops that people like us can ever step foot into! it’s a beautiful environment!I’ll post updated review once the job is compleated!

They couldn’t figure out why the car stopped working but they still charged me $60 for labor! They asked $5 dollars for a “test drive”! They said it worked fine and about a hour later it stopped working.Seriously, this people are lazy and stupid, don’t go there.

I was looking for a certain style of lug nuts with locks for My old 2000 F150, this was the only place in town that had what i needed, and actually had knowledge to understand the right product i was looking for.

Not impressed. They are not very friendly to start off and did not communicate very well about what was going on with my truck. I had to call a couple of times to see if they looked at it yet and then to see if they found out anything. The guy on the phone made it sound like do I have to talk to you?. One good thing was they did stay late open late so I could come and pick it up, but when I got there its cost was more then they told me over the phone. Later I talked with two other people who had the same experience. The work they did on my truck was fine, but I would not recommend them to anyone or go back.

Not good. Never Again! I gave multiple chances even after multiple my car wasnt fixed right and paid to have the reason why it was brought in the first time fixed again. but, thats not why it was so bad necess. Just poor service and credibility!

We bought a car from Steve almost a year ago. Along with the car, we were to receive an oil change, a realignment, and a set of tires. We received none of this. After calling multiple times and receiving no return call we decided to go straight to their shop. Now the creep says he threw out the tires and to go elsewhere for new ones. We even have the sales receipt. Never do business with this man. A wolf in sheeps clothing.

Did work on my car and charged me for things they didnt even do. 135$ for carburetor work and just added a spring to it. Changed my oil and it was 2 quarts low when I got it home. Ill pass from now on.
