This facility is always highly reliable, they usually have free boxes available but if they dont, their prices are fairly reasonable. Always clean and well kept.

It was the best customer service I ever had at a U-Haul.

Had to take a star off because the computers were running extremely slow that day so there was a very long wait but, everybody handled it perfectly everybody waited their turn we all got our vehicles everything went well. When we had to have the vehicle for a little extra time they were a little upset at first but then okay with it and then we thought we were going to have to pay the additional charges but the guy said because it was just over a little bit of time that he was happy to just let us have had it. So all in all a great experience!!!

Zero Trust: ordered and paid for a hitch. Waited two weeks with an appointment to have it installed and on the day of installation I went at the appointed time only to be told they don’t have the hitch and they don’t know when they will get it. Zero customer service. Talked to the “manager” who could only blame corporate and recommended I buy the hitch online somewhere else. What a resolve!!! So if they can’t operate a simple logistical matter would you trust them with inspecting your Uhaul truck? Trust them on an install to your vehicle? Just my experience-good luck

We made an appointment to install a trailer hitch at 11:30AM, and were told that it would take 3 hours. They knew the make, model and year of the car we had when we booked the appointment two weeks ago, but at the time of the appointment said that they didn’t have the right installation components. They said they could make a substitute work, but there was no excuse for their lack of preparation. 6 hours later, we had no update, and call wait time when we called to check in estimated it would be 59 minutes before we would be able to talk with someone. We drove back to the store, because the drive was shorter than the wait time, and were told they needed another hour because the wiring was tedious. Again, no excuse for the lack of preparation.7.5 hours later, still waiting but now in the office. No updates. The store is technically closed at this point.I’ve never had such issues with UHaul services before. Incredibly frustrated and disappointed with the service at this location.

Really great customer service. Trucks were worn out. Yes, they got me to and from, but zero comfort. They were loud, radios did not work, seats.were uncomfortable, and the ride sucked. I could not imagine a multi hour ride in one of these things. But, like I said, they got me there and back.

Had reservation for trailer. Showed up on scheduled day and time. They had trailer but based on rep “it wasn’t for me but for someone else who is picking up in 2 hours”. Then they changed my pickup location which is already 40 minutes past my pickup time and sent me 30 minutes away across the city to pick up another trailer.Btw, I returned trailer to originally reserved address few hours after pickup and turns out next person was picking the trailer which they didn’t give to me in 5.5 hours and not 2 hours and it was still there. Now they have two trailers and I’m getting charged wrongful destination fee. Brilliant!So, they:1. Overbooked;2. Forgot to change location and notify me;3. Screwed me up on wrongful destination charges.

I want to share with everyone how wonderful a location this is. With the times as hard as they are moving can be very difficult. The staff and the manager here work with you and treat you fairly. I would recommend this location if you need help with a truck or a storage unit. They are a friendly and helpful bunch of people.

We have had our storage unit broken into twice 2 weeks apart. Do not use this storage place unless you want your stuff taken.

Had to move a couple rooms of furniture on short notice and this was a lot easier than having a moving company do it

I use this store for my art boxing needs. The staff are so helpful and accommodating and extremely helpful. I was in a jam today after attaching a 48x48 box on my luggage rack that was loose. They knew exactly how to fix it and did just that. If I could buy them lunch, I would have!

The prices here are fair and the woman there (I unfortunately cant remeber her name) was very very helpful! Even showed us a couple free boxes we could use and gave some excellent advice like which tape we should use and if we brought back any unused boxed we could get some money back! Ill only come here if I ever need to move. :)

Convenient location, helpful staff. The computer system was SUPER slow. I dont know if that is a normal thing for this location or not. Most recently, I rented a trailer to move. Ive been here before to buy boxes and moving supplies. When I buy a lot of boxes, the guys have helped me take them out to my car, so thats really nice of them. I appreciate that.

This location is clean, the bathrooms are nice (and open!) and Nathaniel Perea is very helpful. Uhaul made a mistake when I initially booked the storage unit but he helped sort it out. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because when I initially arrived a storm had knocked out their power which meant the gates did not work. This location had to close early because of the broken gates but this was not communicated anywhere on their website. It took days to fix and U-Haul eventually just had to extend their hours and leave the gate open and unlocked. Other than that, all employees were helpful and polite.

Everything went smooth and the workers were kind.

This is the place to go for all your moving needs. The store manager theres a very knowledgeable young man and will help you with all your moving needs. And if you need a hitch installed this is the place to go get it installed

If you choose U-Haul, be sure and call and confirm your reservation at least 2-3 times. It appears that there is very poor communication with customers. Our confirmed location did not have the truck we requested upon pick up and we were never notified. This was the same case with the costumer that was in front of us in line. Even the staff member assisting us agreed that customers were not being properly notified about changes to their reservations. Also, U-Haul’s gasoline/fuel policy/system is ridiculous. After being delayed an hour past our pick up time (because of their lack of communication and needing to pick up our truck at another location), we found our truck with less than a quarter tank of gas.

The service that the staff delivers is well above expectation. They are quick and efficient and pleasant to deal with. I have gone in several times for moving boxes, and, each time, someone has my order collected and out by my vehicle by the time I finish paying. You genuinely leave feeling like they care about earning and keeping your business.

I would recommend AVOIDING this location. They are unprofessional and completely lack any form of communication skills. I had scheduled a hitch to be installed. At the time of the call I stated that I could provide a Purchase Order # for payment. After checking it turned out that UHaul doesnt accept a PO from us. So I tried reaching out to UHaul a minimum of 4 times over a week period to find out how to pay them. Each time I was told that I would receive a call from an employee working out of the location the install was scheduled at to arrange payment. No contact from UHaul- until a week later my phone is going off at 8:30AM- UHaul and the customer are calling me back to back to get payment, something Ive been trying to do for a week! When I speak to Chelsea, who is the employee calling me from UHaul, I explain that Ive been trying to pay for over a week and no one has reached out to me. Chelsea proceeded to tell me that she tried to call me 2 days prior but I didnt answer my phone and she didnt leave a message!! I asked Chelsea why she wouldnt have left me a message, I dont know she called? Chelseas response was: I called you after hours from my personal phone and dont want customers calling back. Thats understandable but that could have been communicated in a voicemail. And why would Uhaul only try calling me one time when Ive reached out trying to get them paid multiple times in a week period? So its now 8:30AM a week later and theyre holding the customer hostage until they get payment. Why werent they blowing up my phone like they were that morning when I was trying to get them paid prior to the install being done? So I pay over phone with my card and request to have the invoice and receipt emailed to me. Chelsea assures me that it was sent. Chelsea didnt apologize about the lack of communication nor did she apologize for inconveniencing my customer which was also a customer of UHauls at this point. And of course the email that Chelsea said she sent to me with my invoice and receipt never came so UHaul proceeded to inconvenience me even more because I had to drive to their location to personally pick it up. During this whole process I was polite and professional with UHaul, I just wish they would have extended the same courtesy to the customer and myself. Due to their lack of professionalism and less than mediocre communication skills I personally will not ever recommended a customer to do business with UHaul and I most certainly wouldnt recommend anyone else to them either.

Like many service businesses, this place us a hit or miss thing. Yesterday, I picked up two packages of newsprint wrapping paper and two rolls of strapping tape. The man behind the counter helped me quickly, efficiently, and noted my cane and handicapped parking, taking the heavy boxes out to my car without even asking. Today I returned to get as much more paper and different tape (strapping tape split lengthwise) and the different man behind the counter was a jerk handicapped by his attitude, the lack of management trust, and bad software.

Friendly staff were able to check me out very quickly. Moved a truck for me so it was easier to exit w/out needing to ask. Great u-haul rental location.

Great customer service! Locally owned franchise. I rented a car hauler trailer for a quick run to Arizona and it cost a fraction of what a two-wheel dolly would have cost from the competition. Conveniently located right on 528. I was in and out in no time.

GREAT PRICE ON A CAR HAULER. I DIDNT HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE. THE STAFF WAS VERY FAST AND HELPFUL, THE EQUIPMENT WAS A LITTLE ON THE OLD SIDE BUT WORKED JUST FINE. I HAVE BEEN USING THIS SAME LOCATION FOR 11 YEARS AND THEY ALWAYS COME THROUGH. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ALL.

While the front desk woman was nice enough, I was offered no help with getting my car unstrapped and unhooked from the trailer. I understand that they cannot drive the car for me and I didnt ask for that. I asked for help getting it loose so I could back it off the trailer. While it wasnt difficult, I did everything myself. The woman called a guy over only when I really struggled to get the last strap to come undone. They didnt even offer to make sure the ramps were lining up with my wheels as I backed off the trailer, which wouldvebeen courteous. After paying Uhaul over $2600 for my move and returning it 2 days early, it wouldve been proper customer service for them to have dealt with all the labor related to their trailer themselves.

This place is the worst. Manger is joke as well. They will rent trucks to you with water and not care. And they don’t take care of any equipment and it shows. I will no longer ever doing business with uhual ever again unfortunately. But that what happens when The manager does not do their job and check trucks out to make sure the back is clean and not full of water. But oh well who cares about a customer nowadays it’s alll money grab. And it’s shame how this company how’s gone way down hill. Not the first time either I have had the worst equipment it’s been 3 times this year. P.s don’t even deserve a star. Staff as well not friendly. Not even polite.

Had a great experience here over 5 years - in that time I have had zero complaints, which is what you’d be looking for!The one drawback is that the facility is dusty, which makes sense as it’s on the West Mesa in Rio Rancho.Great service, 24 hour access, clean bathrooms with AC, no security problems, decent rates.

Had the size truck I needed when I needed it!

Horrible- I went in to try to get a rental for this weekend and all the man told me was “we don’t have anything for this weekend or next unless you made a reservation before hand. Everywhere in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque is booked this time of the year because everyone is moving.” I move on to tell him if he can still check the system for anything... And he told me I can tell you from the top of my head, that everything is booked. And during my conversation with him a man comes in asking about needing to move this weekend too. And the other worker was giving him EVERYTHING they had available. So I’m waiting there for the guy to tell me something else, and no, all he did was look at his screen. IF I could I would rate them a 0. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. HORRIBLE. I called the UHUAL on 1650 southern Blvd SE Rio Rancho, and the customer service was AMAZING and they were able to find me something to move tomorrow. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS LOCATION.

Used these guys when we moved to Rio Rancho to store our stuff back in September. Been back for other services offered. Great group but sometimes a little bullheaded. Would be a five but had issues where guys didnt listen well or where they locked knowledge I felt they should have had. Overall, good experiences regardless.

The one time I have been here they were extremely nice. Renting a U-Haul was very quick, and painless. Unfortunately, the other time that I reserved a U-Haul for this location, I was called the day before I was to pick it up late in the evening and told that I could no longer pick it up at this location. This was a huge pain Kama so U-Haul did go out of their way to try and alleviate some of the pain.

The workers do not know heat they are doing at all, they ordered the wrong part I was the told its correct, come to find it dousent fine my trailer, wrong size. They wont do a return and screwed me out of money sorry but they are a bad place to do business. They wasted my money and time drove my car and still Im in the negative here they owe me. What a nice guy, Brandon is. He knows what the right way to do the business is.I wanted to install a hitch to my Nissan Altima V6 and I needed to order it (with express delivery charges, upon my request) because it was not in stock. It turns out that the flanges which need to be separated apart in the exhaust system were almost melted together because of the heat and age of the car, and there is no way they could do it there. He said that it is their fault not to inspect the car beforehand and they are going refund everything including the express delivery charge! I felt very obliged to write a review on it. I hope people find this review helpful and more people choose this place for their need. They deserve it. Brandon even took the pictures of the melted flanges and showed them to me.

Ive rented here several times and had good experiences each time. Ive found the people knowledgeable and helpful. The equipment (several different trailers and trucks) has performed well. I keep coming back here for those reasons.

Very accommodating. Lowered a star because the back of my truck was not cleaned and had random peices of other peoples stuff inside.

Returned a truck/trailer to this location. A week later I find out they tacked on $25 to clean the truck. Returned it the same way I got it. IF you use this location, lock your credit card as soon as you drive off the lot. Better yet, use a different Uhaul location!

I have used these services several times, the staff look like they came from a third world disaster area but they get the job done and are okay people. I never have a problem, sometimes it takes awhile but oh well. If you need a truck you get one.

Terrible customer service! Waited in line for 20+ minutes to return some unused boxes, only to be told by the desk clerk (who clearly could have cared less) that I could not return them! The manager was no help either, and said the best she could do was issue me store credit - an absolutely useless alternative, seeing as my move was complete.I spent close to $200 on moving supplies with this location, only to be treated like a second-class citizen when I asked them to honor their guarantee on buying back unused boxes. Skip doing business with this terrible location and go to one of the better managed stores in the ABQ metro area.

Lot of options. Be careful going on weekends. When they are busy the systems take forever, which means you may be there a while. Good, knowledgeable staff.

This is the worse place Ive ever been too!!! I rented a trailer for a day and returned it two hours later. A few days later I checked my bank account and noticed an extra charge of $70 from here. I called customer service and they said I was charged for an additional TWO DAYS!!!!! the general manager was supposed to give me a call in a time frame of 72 hours ... its been 5 days and I havent received anything!!!!!! These people are careless. How the hell did they not notice the stupid trailer was back!? I checked it in with the same guy that gave it to me! Do not come here.

I called in for a unit that I needed last minute and the guy was very friendly, as well as the guy who got me set up on site. It was the best storage place I had talked to and even though it was further than I wanted, the staff was so nice I decided to go there.

Be wary of the sales people. The people that set up the contract don’t seem to be knowledgeable in the fees and processes for the truck. They will tack on a lot of extra fees and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it since they have your card on file. Won’t be using Uhaul again in the future. Stick with Budget or Penske unless you wanna pay double the charge you were quoted.

Not to happy with U-Haul in general. They rented us a truck with a bad wheel that caused a break down. It took them almost 18 hours to get a replacement truck. The frustrating part was the next day we had to start the entire process over because all the information provided the day before (at the time of break down) was not documented correctly by the staff. Finally they promised reduced rates, discounts, and credits for all the trouble but didnt actually give them to us. When we asked about this we were told that U-Haul employees were not authorized to promise any type refund without manager approval which was not documented.

Equipment I needed, easy check in, nice friendly staff.

We filled the gas tank to the recommended limit and the employee said we are not quite to the fill mark and the we were off by 3/4 gal and that she was going to charge us $4.00 a gal to fill it to meet the recommended mark. We had to take the van to the nearest gas station to fill it to the recommended limit. We over filled and did not get credit for over filling, which I am sure is a policy of U-Haul. Nice job robbing your customers and getting your mediocre employees with inadequate customer service training to nickle and dime us with your little gadget for less that 3/4 gallon of gasoline. She had very poor communication skills in explaining the total cost on the bill and customer service. Upon check-in an email was sent to lessen the time during check-in time at the location but it took twice as long to check out our vehicle. I dont think this review is going to really matter in making improvements if all management is going to do is continue hiring mediocre people to run its facilities without great customer service skills. This is the second U-Haul location that gave us bad service but we had no choice to use this location because not other truck rental company exists in the area. U-Haul really needs to get it together. I should have trusted the reviews for this location and made the long trek into Albuquerque than to waste my time and money at this location. I doubt the management care about this feedback and that nothing will change. Another unsatisfied nickled and dimed customer. Oh, I am sure that there is nothing you can do about this because all the decisions come from your corporate office. How many time have hear this load of crap. ...and go ahead and laugh because I am the disgruntled a**hole who did not get the professionalism we deserve. Nothing we will change and we will never ever use you again. We will find another company to deal with and drive the extra mile.

Terrible customer service. I absolutely do not recommend this establishment.

Always check the odometer to make sure it matches the contract and take a picture of the actual mileage before you take the truck. I got charged for 50 extra miles on a 59 mile one way trip. When I protested at the drop off they made some calls, but was told there was nothing they could do since we didnt take a picture of the odometer when we took delivery. I will try other options before using U-Haul again, if forced to because of lack of options I will proceed with caution.
