I do not typically post reviews but this experience was so awful I felt I needed to warn any prospective customers. I would never do business with this company again. The battery died on a U-Haul rental truck at my residence on the driveway. Big Hill Towing was dispatched via U-Haul roadside assistance at 7PM. At 8:20PM I got call from U-Haul stating that the service provider (Big Hill Towing) said the tech stopped at liquor store and had their jumper cables stolen. New arrangements were made for service the following day for no later than 8AM. The next day I got a text at 7:53AM from Tim with Big Hill Towing stating on way, stuck in traffic. He finally arrived onsite at 9:30AM, an hour and a half late for what amounts to a 45 minute drive. The technician did not bring a new battery as directed by U-Haul, instead the tech tried to jump the battery (after asking me to provide jumper cables) unsuccessfully only to tell me the truck needs a battery. The tech told me they dont change batteries. When I asked why he arrived so late, the tech responded that he didnt get the service call until 9AM. I asked how he was able to text me at 7:53AM if he didnt get the call until 9AM, he did not have an answer for that. It was clear the intent of Big Hill Towing was to charge U-Haul for a service fee, there was no interest in actually getting the truck running for the customer.

I am currently visiting Richmond and my vehicle had an issue. Shawn not only showed up with in minutes of me calling he assisted with finding a garage open on Sunday. He was very friendly, professional, reasonably priced and helpful. I highly recommended this business.

Fair price and quick service. Would definitely use them again if the need arises.

My insurance company Allstate send them for towing car. They came 2 hours late to the spot after hundreds of messages and calls. They were behaving like they are doing it free for me. They do not care for you once they were booked for your service.

Did not have me waiting long to get into my vehicle. Very polite and professional. Highly recommended for any services.

I got my own car stuck in my driveway 🤦🏻‍♀️ AAA couldn’t help me but I called these guys and they were pretty fast on getting here and charged me less than $200 for the service. Very nice people and business

Waaaaaay too expensive for what was done. Charged me over $200 to just pull me out of a ditch. Friendly people, but high prices.

Had the pleasure of interacting with this company today on behalf of AAA service. By far the best experience I have ever had with a tow company. The driver was very professional, arrived quickly and got my truck to its destination safely. I would highly recommend them for any of their services and would happily use them again in the future.

I needed my Madza towed to Madza in Lexington. Instead they towed it to Ford in Richmond. The owner was rude and kept insisting that is where I told him. My husband also told the driver where it needed to go. The tow truck driver didnt know what he was doing as well. He wouldnt take the car down the drive way and we have to push it down. Dont waste your money.

They were patient, thorough, and positive even on a late frigid night. The owner was training a new employee and obviously cared about the work being done correctly and efficiently. So great to see good bosses and good employees. Couldnt have asked for better service!

Worst experience I’ve ever had

Absolutely the rudest, most disrespectful two individuals I have ever come into contact with (the owners). I can only imagine how proud their parents are of them. It only took 2 days to finally get someone to answer the phone, no one is at their lot to speak too either, so jI guess that’s how they are making their money. If they can’t be reached to get a vehicle out is impound that just allows them to charge more for holding it. When I finally was able to contact them, they refused to allow me to get all of the personal belongings out of a vehicle that they had impounded there that had been wrecked, I find it hilarious that it was conveniently only the most expensive items in the back of that vehicle they determined “not to be personal items”. Having to take alternative action to resolve this issue, greed is a very sad and selfish way of living, I pray that both of them find God In their lives especially in this day and age.

Took 1 1/2 to arrive. Driver was pleasant but damaged my vehicle kept raising and lowering hitch. I checked when I got out to see if it was loose but did not look for underdamage. I work at home so rarely drive my vehicle except once a week to take disabled family members out for errands. When I did so the weight of extra individuals caused the car to drag more and I got out to check and lay beneath the car and then seen the flap and damaged along with the scrapes. I went to insurance company which said I would have a deductible unless big hill covered it. Big Hill refused to take liability saying I ran over something. I said impossible this was a new bumper and I rarely drive the vehicle they also hung up on me. Poor customer service and terrible business ethic. Run from them. Use Scotts towing they are reliable and honest!

Super friendly, fairly quick especially considering I had no idea where i was. i cant remember the name of the tow truck driver i had but he was chill as hell. hope to never need another tow down here, but if i do this place will be my first call. great pricing too!

We called Big Hill to get a tow and they sent Will to pick us up. Hes a super nice guy and took care of us in the pouring down rain. We are so thankful that Big Hill assisted us. They even referred us to a garage that fixed our truck. Thanks guys so much.

Big Hills extra charges add up to price gouging in my book. Be warned.75 tow, 50 labor, 35 securing loose parts, 70 for two days storage = 230 for about a 5 mile tow. Our vehicle was in their possession from Sunday evening to Monday morning, less than 24 hours. They did answer the phone Sunday evening to tell me they werent open. They do not accept AAA. Find a better choice!

I was locked out of my car and running late to work. They responded so fast and got me in. They were very professional and respected my vehicle unlike some companies. I will use them again for any roadside assistance!!

I was stuck over 2 hours from home, and the first towing company my insurance called canceled on me. I had to wait 4 hours for a tow, but only because Big Hill stepped up to the plate. Their driver drove out nearly 2 hours late Friday night, loaded me up, drove me back to Indiana 2.5 hours in the other direction, and got me home safe and sound. Great service.

The service was good and a reasonable price for a college student. Although, the professionalism of the employee was inappropriate. Even after stating with employee in casual conversation that I am engaged, he texted me 2 hours after leaving (getting my number from the card meant for the garage my car was going to) calling me hun and gorgeous.

Owner was rude and the man that dropped the vehicle off had the vehicle off the wrecker with no damage then he lifts the ramp up and then down and ball put a mark and damaged the front bumper and didnt even offer a sorry or anything and the office had water every where on the ground
