I’m very impressed with the professional service I received from Michael & Sons and recommend them. After submitting an Angi request they contacted me immediately. The scheduler was friendly and worked with me to get the work scheduled according to my time constraints. I received a text message confirming my appointment and an email with appointment details. I received a text this morning with the name and picture of the service person along with the estimated time of arrival. This was an awesome feature! Bobby was also professional in demeanor and made sure I understood the work to be done and the cost associated with the work. He completed the faucet replacement in a timely manner, cleaned up, took my payment and the service call was completed in an hour.

Had attic gable fan replaced. They did give me an estimated price of $998. I was told I was getting a much better fan. Technician did not have a pic of fan I was getting. I incorrectly assumed I was getting $400-$500 fan and extra electrical might have been required. Their technician spent about 1 hour in my home working. After seeing the fan we got I was very dissapointed. Found the same fan at Home Depot for less than $150. The way I look at this it cost over $800 an hour for their service. Finally got a callback from customer service. They said they have to pay more for the same fan because you get a 5 year warranty. Said I would be lucky to find an electrician that charged less than $300 an hour (that would have been a bargin compared to what I paid). I had asked for a break down of the charges parts, labor, etc. but they said they do not provide that. Lets just say I will never use this company again and suggest you find out exactly what you are getting before signing a contract.

We had a breaker that appeared to be shorting. Called Michael & Son and they offered multiple options for service days. During that initial phone call and as the electrician was diagnosing during the service call, all service charges were discussed up front and multiple options/alternatives were given. Zero surprises. Ultimately Brian, our electrician, got the problem diagnosed and repaired quickly, giving detailed information about what he was doing and why every step of the way.

Michael & Son installed our HVAC system after one of ours died. They were able to get the new system installed just 2 days after they came to try to fix our old one. The crew was very professional and courteous. They did a superb job.

I am a forever loyal customer. I was waiting for a request for a survey of services provided, but never received one. First let me say, we had a very bad situation happen to us on last week, 7/8/21. We called everyone we were advised and local in Amelia county. No one else would or could help!! We finally reached out to Michael and Sons. Well I couldnt have been more pleased!!! I have been recommending them to everyone I know!!! And even complete strangers!! We were serviced by one of the most down to earth, kind and helpful electricians Ive ever met, Darryll!! He was prompt, pleasant and could not have been more professional and helpful if he tried. This young man really seemed to not only know his job, but was sincere in helping my family. We were out of power for 2 and a 1/2 days in sweltering weather!! But Darryll made sure we didnt continue to suffer any longer than necessary. My husband and I will be forever grateful to him and Michael and sons for their professional, sincere and reasonably priced service!!! They came way out to a rural area when other companies locally would not even respond!!! And he never complained about the distance. That speaks volumes about the worth of customers to this company!! Greetings Michael & Sons provide professional services. So far I have used their service on three occasions and each time their team person was very profession and detailed. I will recommend them for any of your HVAC service, which I have continued to use.

Absolutely awful. Do not EVER use this company. They rob people. We had a gas leak in our water heater. I had Someone come out to fix the gas leak AND repair the water heater. Less then 30 minutes later the technician told me that he could not fix the water heater and recommended us buy a new one for $2,700. He left with us having no working water heater. I had another company come out an hour later, find the problem, recommend a new water heater/ installation for $1,700.Micheal and sons took over a week to get a manager to call us and discuss the issue we had and is now demanding we pay $500 for the 20 minutes of work their technician did- which was not the full job he was hired to do.They have been nothing but rude and disrespectful. They’ve now started coming up with blatant lies as to why the technician couldn’t finish his job.Don’t ever use this company. Wish I could Give negative stars.

I had a big clog in a HVAC drainage pipe which caused a water leak in my condo which ultimately caused my downstairs neighbor’s ceiling to cave in. I called and they had someone out to visit within the hour. He successfully diagnosed the problem and figured out the extent of the damage. We got the issue stable so that it wouldn’t cause further damage. An installation crew came the next morning and installed a new pipe as well as a high-tech pipe that will detect clogs before they become a disaster in the future. Everyone was polite, professional, and efficient. The work they did looks excellent. No cutting corners. I am very pleased and I hired them to send a restoration specialist to fix my neighbor’s water damage once everything dries out.

Michael and Sons Technician arrived promptly. Explained my options very well and completed the job of installing two new toilets efficiently. Removed the old ones. I’m very happy with the service and the technician was a pleasure to have in my home.

Michael & Sons was extremely easy to work with, very professional and excellent with communicating concerns found during the initial visit and recommending ways to mitigate them. Asides from fixing our AC our technician pointed out some organic growth that was in the unit and was able to offer a solution and execute on it the same day. Will absolutely be using them for future home maintenance needs.

This is it first time using the company and as a new homeowner, Im impressed. I called and got an appointment the same day. Dustin called and arrived 30 mins early. He quickly diagnosed that my capacitor was bad on one of my units and quickly did his thing. Now Im back in a nice cool house and everything is good to go. Customer service was great. Thank you!

Tyler was very quick and courteous. There was a brief complication when we did not find what we expected, but it turned out to be a much simpler issue than anticipated so we Im sure we were both thankful for that. Without his knowledge Im sure I would have been in some real trouble, just goes to show thats what professionals are for!

William came out this morning to rewire my laundry room. He called me to say he was available early and to see if I was also available. He arrived at our newly agreed upon time. William was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. He was able to move quickly through my project and answered all of my questions. Michael & Son is lucky to have him - as was I.

The tech was awesome polite and did a great job he even installed a new filter for me because I know nothing about this stuff being a single parent he was excellent

The technician was super polite and informative and Im sure they do great work. The prices on the other hand, highway robbery. I was quoted over $1,400 to install a water heater. A basic, electric 50 gallon water heater. If I bought the water heater through them the total was going to be around $2,400 plus. It takes about an hour to change one of these out. So thats $1,400 an hour for labor. If they would have even indicated it was close to that over the phone I could have saved them the trip. But the trip did cost me $70 to hear that. I did it myself the next day. I dont think nuclear engineers charge that to work on a reactor. The pricing doesnt seem high it seems unethical.

I only gave 4 stars because they couldnt actually unclog the drain but the man who came was super nice and very helpful in offering advice and what our options where, there was more they can do we are just going to try some things ourselves first before paying more. I could tell he really wanted to help but our house is also old and obnoxious. Its nice that you pay $69 for someone to come out and he quoted me a price, and because he couldnt unclog it I only paid the $69. That makes it reasonable, some places charge per hour which can really add up. Even though my sink is still clogged I cannot say enough nice things about the service, he was awesome and even them contacting me from the office and the text messages and emails were all great.

Everytime I have them come out, the techs are great. They explain whats going on, fix what they can, and help refer for any other work. I dont feel like Ive been up sold. I expect to have them take care of a couple larger jobs coming up

The 5 star reviews youll see on Google are clearly fake accounts created by Michael and Son employees (probably Maurice Noori). Check out the Yelp reviews and Maurices responses to all of the 1 stars. Absolutely no accountability for their poor service and bad business practices. Maurice even tells people Sorry you thought thats how this works. Were a professional company and thats why our prices are higher than others. If youve made the mistake of hiring this company, prepare yourself for litigation. Looks like they prefer small claims court to servicing customers and maintaining a good reputation. Apparently theyre notorious for unethical business practices...wish wed known that before trusting their unprofessional staff into our home. They didnt complete the work they said they would, their technician literally said our water heater was old-school and he couldnt repair it...Just wanted to upsell us with a new one. Its a little ironic that their slogan is, If you cant, we can yet the tech asked my pregnant wife to ignite a water heater because he didnt know how to do it. Their price was too high so we had someone come out and and do it in a couple of hours for $1000 less. Repairs werent done by Michael and Son, but their tech took a picture of a pipe and said he repaired it, so theyve billed us $467 for the repair that they cant confirm even happened. Maurice must spend a lot of time doing damage control for this garbage business based on all the responses he has to negative reviews. We actually have a pretty big project we were going to have them bid, but I wouldnt recommend this company to my worst enemy. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. THERE ARE MANY OTHERS IN VIRGINIA THAT WILL CHARGE YOU HALF THE PRICE, TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT, AND FINISH THE JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER.

Had a bad breaker. Joshua came out (late). Was unbelievably rude, was here less than 15 minutes and charged me 225. I was told it would be a diagnostic fee of $69 . He preformed no service. still charged $225 never ever use this company. So rude.

All the techs that have come out have been professional and knew how to conduct the work. The online tool to schedule appointments is top notch, and easy to use. Tech Jules has come out to the house a couple of times to respond to the scheduled appointment and is a great representation of the company.

We were sent a text with the technicians expected arrival time and his photo. The technician was not only here on time he called well before his arrival and said he would be here one-half hour sooner than we were told. He immediately found the outside unit motor run capacitor was shorted and had a replacement on the truck. He tested the under house unit for me too as I believed the heat was not working last Winter and gave that a clean bill of health too. I can give no higher recommendation that Michael and Son are the best HVAC professionals I have dealt with in five decades, I encourage anyone in need of their professional services to call them in confidence that they will receive the best service and be made to fell they matter.Thank you Michael and Son Services--your the best!!

He was very good at making needed recommendations and sharing the problems we were having. I like the fact that he didnt try to force anything on us but was able to answer all our questions honestly. Work was good I guess overpriced had a outside outlet go bad The average cost to fix is a little over $200. Michael an Son charged me $330 it came with a one year warranty So I Paid for the work but I would never go to them again for anything too expensive for me DIY form now on an yes just one outside outlet took him 2sec to replace Didn’t how to even check no breakers didn’t even have to open up the breaker box Just change it yourself!! And if it don’t work then call somebody not them call around first They just ripped me off!!

Mr. Eddie was awesome. I didn’t have enough funds for the repair and rescheduled for Friday-payday. He told me if you are able to get the funds let me know. I had no idea that he was going to return the same day to fix the repair. I thought that I would of had to wait until Friday. Needless to say my air system was fixed the same day. The specialist that came for my ac maintenance was great! He was super professional, very detailed and simply went above and beyond. He explained everything thoroughly, I didn’t feel rushed, and he gave me pointers on things totally unrelated. It’s good to see that great customer service still exists.

Our technician came out same day and repaired our struggling AC unit upon arrival. They were detailed and thorough and showed us evidence of the issues. They didn’t try to pressure us into buying a new unit or anything either. We appreciated their quick resolution to our issue.

Excellent service. Christian, our electrical expert, did an outstanding job. The install required his creativity, technical skills, and experience. Christian exhibited meticulous attention to detail, incredible knowledge, and diligent work. He’s also just a genuinely pleasant individual. The worksite was clean and everything back to normal. He left a really easy finishing task for our dry wall person. Michael and Sons was not the lowest bid but certainly the best choice in my opinion.

My mom paid in full for the split system to be installed in her upstairs back in June 2021. She has missed over 7 days of work between no shows for their appointments, installations, and follow up visits. She also had to have the county come and inspect since it was a modification to her home, and it did not pass. Michael & Sons came out today to rectify the county concerns and she was told Im not the person for the job. We have to send over one of our electricians. They received a copy of the countys inspection report, knew what needed to be done, and didnt send someone qualified to do the correction? For todays appointment, she was told she was scheduled between 8-11 am, checked in at 11:30 and was told the tech was running approx 1-1.5 hours behind. Called again at 1:30 and was told the same thing again. She also conveniently cant get a call back from the initial salesperson nor a manager, at all.Its really embarrassing for a company of their caliber to be so unprofessional to any customer, let alone a veteran, as my mom is.

The serviceman came out to check the leak and told me that they were going to have to replace a huge part behind the wall where the faucet connects to the pipes. The part would be about $150 if I sort it out myself or $300 if they provided the part which would include a lifetime warranty. It would take about 2 hours to install and the labor for the installation would be $600 are you kidding me Michael & Sons watch $300 an hour in labor? Absolutely unreasonable so I declined the service paid the $100 service call and sent them on their way

Paid around $350 for a diagnostic on my well and diagnostic was totally wrong, so I feel like I wasted my money. Wanted almost 10K for what Royal Well and Pump fixed for about 2K. Price gouging at its finest. Not sure about other services, but don’t call if something is wrong with your well.Update: was offered a full refund. Great customer service. I am happy! Updated to 5 stars.

I really dont know how to explain what happen. I feel like. I was over charged greatly . I called Michael and sons because I know they will come to help you in a shorter wait for service than other companies. This is good . I was just charged 370.00 for a tech to flush out a line on my furnace that took 20 minutes if his time to do with 10 minutes of that him explaining what he was going to do. I am very disappointed that the service was so high I am still trying to figure out what I am paying for. I have used them before but I wont refer them to any of my friends because. I feel they will over charge them . I was talking to a friend on Facebook and she said I wish I had know u were going to call them I would have told you .For single older ladies living on a check a month this is a lot. I am disappointed I dont mind paying my bills but I dont feel this was fair .maybe they dont make money being fair.

Great experience. The man who came (James) was very knowledgeable and found the EXACT problem with my AC unit within a matter of minutes. Mario and Edy did an excellent job from the consultation through installation. They made sure we understood our options and the process. In addition Edy brought out some window units to ensure our boys were comfortable until our install date.

Arrive on time. I asked about 5 AC related questions that I care about. The technician, Steven Slagle, answered them clearly and very knowledgeable with friendly and professional attitudes. I can tell from his doing, his professional skills are so strong. While he is doing, in the meantime, he trains a trainee. Both of them worked hard in the high heat temperature. He also explained to me some AC protection accessories that can benefit AC equipment life time. I took his suggestions.

Matt was extremely professional and straight to the point. Very swiftly assessed the potential issues we could be having and gave a few route for fix actions. He also check to see if our ac unit was still under warranty and could tell us that it was! After recharging our unit he was able to apply military discount and hung around for 15mins to make sure everything was operating nominally.Very happy with this experience. Will be using and reviewing other services of Michael and Sons in the future.

I first used Michael & Son several years ago. I cannot remember the order of service but they replaced the shower pipe in the master bathroom, installed a toilet in the guest bathroom, replaced the toilet in master bathroom.2021They inspected the crawlspace, showed me the pictures and offered two (2) solutions. I chose Michael & Son because I felt I could trust Nate. The technician, Eric, did exactly what was explained in the solution I chose.Not that there was anything wrong but Curtis came yesterday to check out the crawlspace. In doing so, he found that a pipe was leaking.Tucson (hope I spelled that correctly) inspected the area and advised what needed to be done.Daxten came today and repaired the pipe section. He explained every step he was going to do. He was very polite, worked quietly, and followed our guidelines for technicians in our home. (We have an indoor cat.)Get the idea I was more than satisfied?Most definitely! I will continue to use them as needed.Thank you.

While on vacation my HVAC system died. Michael & Son was very quick to respond and install a new unit. The unit is great, the techs were great and I am very happy with the service I received.

Updated: I am not going to delete my previous post because that’s what happened, but customer service is going to refund our second charge so I can tell that they really do care that their customers are satisfied. Our AC unit is working just fine now.I previously gave Michael and Son’s a five star review for their quick service and what I thought was a quick solution. I first called Michael and Son’s about three weeks ago to fix our failing AC. It wasn’t completely down, but it was failing to cool the entire house. The first technician came same day and assessed the problem and supposedly fixed the issue. He told me our unit was still in good shape. I was happy with the service. We left town for a week and came back to a leaking AC unit. I called Michael and Son’s again the Monday we returned. Again, a different technician came out the same day and fixed the leak. However, the AC still was not cooling properly by Wednesday, so we called a third time. This time the technician found something else wrong and told us a new unit would be best. This was very frustrating to get conflicting information from technicians in the same company. They are now charging an additional $1100 on top of the initial $900 we paid the first service. Our technician comes today to hopefully fix the issue for the fourth time. I called customer service to explain this situation and I was told that I’d be contacted by a manager in 24 hours. That obviously did not happen. I’m leaving them two stars because you do get fast same day service, but your issue may not be resolved and you’ll be paying every time.

Very quick to arrive, very professional and friendly tech. Figured out where the clog was within a few minutes and got to work to unclog the drain. I do wish Michael & Sons would give their employees (or maybe contractors) more tools/equipment. Our guy had to borrow my sawzall, buckets and flashlight to finish the job!

John came out to do an inspection on my a/c unit to let me know if it will live or not. If you are lucky enough to have John-he is awesome, so nice!

From the initial quote consultation with Edy, I felt at ease I was not being pressured into accepting service with this company. Im glad I did decided to go with Michael and son. My HVAC technicians Bert and Joe were awesome as was the electrician Alexander(Alex) they all went above and beyond my expectations. I have an older HVAC unit, so I expect troubles from time to time, until I replace the unit (over 20yrs old) Michael and Sons are ALWAYS available, ALWAYS professional, and ON TIME. They explain everything in detail and give you your options. I would definitely recommend them and will use them in the future. BTW, I appreciate them sending you a picture of your technician, before they come out, so you have an idea as to who you should be looking for at your door.

When I first made the appointment with Michael and Sons, the serviceman called to say that he was running behind, so the appointment was rescheduled for the next day. When the second serviceman came, he was on time, courteous, professional and thorough. He offered an apology for what happened the day before.

Late on on first visit. Put together an entire plan for repaire and was supposed to be here Friday morning. Did not show up at 8 so I kindly called. Called a few times and they said technician was coming. Then they call me at 11:15 and said they would not be able to do it until next week. We planned this and I took a day off. I was at home with my little children stuck in the house waiting.I said no! Not excuse!! I am done with this miss run company!!You owe me money for the number of hours I sat waiting for you on both occasions!!

Shane was our repairman. He was excellent! Shane took special care to explain several times what the issues were with our flooding issue in our bathroom, and did all he could to only do what was needed. In super lickity split the issue was resolved which was really a big deal for me since I’m a care giver for my Mom who needed her toilet. She cannot climb the stairs to the upstairs toilet. There was a sewage drain clog which could have been a huge deal but it was done in a timely manner. He double checked his work and made sure his shoes were covered as not to dirty my home. I will call Michael and Son Services again!

I wanted to move a hose bib/spigot about 4 feet. M&S charged a call out fee and then quoted us $900 to do the job. I declined and a handy friend helped me do it for under $100 in materials and less than 2 hours of labor - and we are DIYers who were figuring it out on the fly. Seems like a professional could have had it done in an hour, so I don’t know where a $900 quote comes from.

Exceptional experience. Our service rep was very knowledgeable and kind. He did a great job and will definitely use the service again in the future.

So I was very impressed with this company. We bought a new house and the HVAC was a hot mess. They gave us a great price and redid a large portion of the duct work. They also helped us fix our AC when that stopped working. Very happy we went with them!

Nice guy gave us the estimate but way to high and to add the $199.00inspection fee on every estimate will not use

Steve was my tech. He was great! He answered all my questions and did a thorough job of cleaning my A/C unit, inside and out. I hope to use him again. Even though he was an hour late, things happen. No problem here!

The servicemen Mario & Christian were prompt in arriving when they said they would. Both, of them were extremely professional and pleasant. They followed COVID protocols, were very knowledgeable about the installation process, the HVAC system and parts. Mario made sure we knew how to operate every aspect of the system and he provided answers for each question we had before departing. We appreciated the fact that he took pictures. We would definitely be happy to use their services again.

I scheduled to have someone come out and remove a dishwasher. The woman I spoke to said that I would need an electrician and a plumber. The electrician got here and said he didn’t even know why he was here, the plumber could do all of this. They literally scheduled two separate people so they could collect two separate $69 dispatch fees. He was here for 2 minutes. The plumber never even showed up. I called in to get a refund and they said I would hear from someone and I never did. Do not use this company.

If I could give a 0 I would. Paid for a diagnostic followed recommendation of the technician. Machine still does not work and they want to charge me another diagnostic charge. Agent put me on hold never returned and discounted the call. Called back and the supervisor I spoke to was rude and spoke over me. As well as the manager Maurice cut me off while I was speaking. Will not use this company again.

Joseph was very professional and informative. He helped get our toilet up and running and let us know about a great service plan that Michael & Son offers. I would definitely recommend them for any service. We have used them in the past for our kitchen as well.

The Technician restored my AC and Im very pleased with the service.

My HVAC system quit working over the evening and Michael & Son was the first company to have technicians available to take a look at my unit. I paid $89 to have the technician diagnose the problem, and it was determined that our blower motor had gone bad. I was told that after 15 years it would be unlikely actually impossible to find another one to replace it, so replacing our system was the ONLY option. Then another technician came out from M&S to provide quotes, and it would take a minimum of 1 week to begin install depending on what unit I selected. I am someone who is trustworthy and I took what they were saying to heart. I am in no place to replace my system as I am a fulltime student in graduate school. Luckily, I have friends to direct me otherwise! I was able to have a new blower motor THE SAME EVENING and installed the next morning resulting in a fully resolved issue. Moral of this story is not to fall pray to what makes a company the most money and is easiest for them. They would rather I remain in the heat with my two dogs on 90+ degree days for another week at minimum instead of purchasing a $100 part to resolve my issue. It is disheartening that this is the case, but I know which HVAC company I will NOT be calling upon in the future when I am ready to replace my system.

Did not accept quote because the price was too expensive. Had to pay dispatch fee because did not accept quote. Did not appreciate not receiving an estimate prior to coming out and being charged a fee.

My AC system was not working properly, air was blowing out but it wasn’t hot or cold (was installed a year prior by same company), I called to set an appt and they came next day. No hassle, Eddie was very confident in what the issue was and had the solution for it. He walked me through exactly what he was going to do and talked me into getting the gold plan and I’m very happy with his service. thank you Eddie!
