I wouldnt go there it seems they make their own prices and try to rip you off claiming they can only find dealer parts which was a lie tried to charge me more then the dealership was going to charge and thats ridiculous they also try to tell me i need extra stuff that the dealer said i dont need. I paid $400 dollars less at the dealership than the price they gave me. Which was $1375 for a fuel pump dealership price was $987 This place is a scam do not go here......

I use to go here for my car all the time and have Harry work on it. I lived in Richfield and it was the closest to our house but I soon found out that it was the most honest and reasonably priced place as well. Now we moved farther away and I much rather make my drive here to have my car fixed. They are always very honest in telling you what needs to be fixed NOW and what can wait. We took our car there yesterday and Steven went completely out of his way to make sure we were taken care of! I will never bring my car anywhere else.

They do a phenomenal job at getting the work done timely and at a good value. Never tried to oversell or up charge me while still looking out for my best interests. Ryan usually works on my car and he is amazing.

Always prompt and courteous. Not necessarily cheap, but they never try to up sell you something you don’t need. So overall pricing becomes pretty reasonable.

Just, to look & car, not hardly do any testing or diagnosis, cost an arm & a leg & another leg, de not worth the astronmical price, they just confirmed what I already knew & figured, thought they would attempt to look & fix it, def will never ever go back there, only went cause was so close, dont have another back up vehicle while they look for a few mins.....

I was quoted $135 out the door for a thermostat and cross quoted this with Bobby and Steves and was quoted $150 out the door with coolant - decided to try a new shop that was closer and save money at the same time. They completed the job timely (positive experience) but called and said it came out to over $217. I said this is far off their quote and they claimed they mustve forgot coolant price which obviously should be automatically factored into thermostat jobs. Bobby and Steves factored this into their quote, as most shops should and still was considerably less out the door than Elsen Brothers.I would get a quote in writing so they dont try to backdoor you like they did to me. Fortunately I had money set aside to cover the upcharge but I know others might not be so fortunate so I thought Id make others aware.2/5 stars for timely repair and seems to be done correctly off of first glance but the backdoor price gouge doesnt sit right with meTLDR: Backdoored me on the price after completed job that was far more than an out the door quote.

I was recently on a trip to Minneapolis and ran into a little bit of car trouble.. Being from the South, I wasnt quite as prepared for Northern temperatures as I thought.. The weather outside dropped to around 8 below zero and the anti-freeze in my car wasnt quite up to par.. Fortunately, I was staying near Elsen Brothers and after a quick google search, made a call.. They were extremely helpful and informative over the phone.. They fit me right in and did a tremendous job in a short amount of time.. The price was also more than fair.. I cant say enough how pleased I was with the service, as well as how impressed I was with their want to truly help someone in need.. We make the trip up to MN every year, and I will be calling ahead next year to make sure Ive got the right fluids in the jeep!!

I rarely ever write any reviews, but I felt obligated to write this one. Ive had my car for seven years now, and have had no problem since the past year. I decided to go to Elsen brothers out of convenience after reading a couple reviews. When I went there, I expected to receive expert advise on what my car needed. Ive heard stories on how mechanics prey on your ignorance and are deceptive, but car problems are inevitable and my car needed fixing. Long story short, the first time I when in for something that wouldve cost me less than $100, but I was told I needed a jargon that cost me $500. I dont know about you, but my car has been good to me over the years, and I needed to fix it so I agreed to get the work done. My car was running better, but the problem was that I needed to go back in again for the same problem I when in for the first time. The hardest part for me, was whenever I asked a question, I was met with a condescending passive aggressive attitude, and very poor customer service. Brian is his name, and I think he may be prejudice.Again, I when back in for a brake problem. I guess I didnt learn my lesson the first time. The mechanic fixed one part of a two part problem, again costing me over $300 only to go back again to pay another $300. When I asked the mechanic why he did not tell me about this when he was changing my brakes the first time, he said he was trying to save me money. Mind you, the bulk of the charge was put under parts, and not under labor to once again rip off the consumer and manipulate the situation. Besides, whether I want to save money or not is for me to decide, your responsibility is to tell me what the problem is.Not to mention, they gave me a loaner car that was on E (empty). I was running to work, so I had no choice, but to stop at a gas station and put some gas in. When I went back to retrieve my car, I asked Brian why they gave me a loaner car that was on E. Again with his condescending attitude, he used his loud dominating voice to invalidate my concern, and replied with something along the lines of, You should be grateful that we have a loaner car to lend you at all.Im sure there are some good people at Elsen Brothers, I am not here to generalize, but I am writing this review as my honest experience to warm future customers on what its like to trust your car with this garage company. You are at a huge disadvantage, if you go there with the idea that you are getting honest reliable service. I was met with deception, manipulation, and very poor customer service, and even prejudice.

Honest and quick, these guys know their stuff. Elsen bros is by far my favorite shop. Always willing to give you repair/replace/make it work options and show you whats actually wrong with your car. They will get you back on the road safely at the most reasonable price around.

Elsens is a family owned business that has been around for over 130 years. They are honest and dont over charge you for the work they do and are always friendly! Its the best place to bring your car around the twin cities!

They quoted me twice as much as anyone else to put in a new radiator at $750

Was told by an acquaintance that these guys are very reasonable. Make sure you ask what a diagnostic test will cost. They charged me $117.50 with out doing any work. I had my issue fixed for $180.00 by someone else with me buying the part. Elsens cost wouldve been : $617.50. Nice guys but just too high!

I dont normally write reviews, but finding an mechanic like these people is really a rare find. We have brought both our vehicle several times in a pinch as well as my mothers vehicle. The last two times they did a full assessment on the problem and we were not able to fix it due to the problem being too big and they refused to take any payment for even looking at the car. They give us a real honest assessment of cost and value of the repair. They were generous with us using their loaner vehicle which saves us a huge headache every time.

They do service on our fleet of work vans. Always do good work and are pleasant to deal with.
