Just moved here from GA transitioning out of the military. The staff makes you feel welcomed and accepted. I tried out a training session with Robert and he definitely over delivered my expectations! He’s a great listener, knowledgeable and can customize workouts to cater to your goals. I highly recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I signed up for a membership here. We were told of the fees and how much our monthly bill would be. Well wouldn’t you know the first bill cycle comes around and there are EXTRA fees that were NEVER mentioned when signing the contract. The guy that signed us up ran through the contract as quickly as possible making us sign as he summarized each section. Didn’t mention that there was an annual fee for each member of $50? I don’t like being lied to just so you can make a sell. This is completely unprofessional! I do not recommend getting a membership here. They lie and say whatever they want just to get their commission.

This place is a scam. The general sales manager said he can not give us a free pass and it is $15 for one day pass and hes being a hypocrite because they have a banner outside the building with the lowest price for 9.99 per month. Not just that, even on the website states that the customers can just sign up for one week free pass. The general sales manager and the front desk showed the lowest quality of customer service I have ever seem. Spend your money on other fitness gyms with better quality service and equipments and stay away from ESporta Fitness.

I love my gym because this is one of the only LA fitness in the Dallas metroplex where you can actually walk in and be able to workout without the crowded space especially in this pandemic, but with the watered down esporta fitness that will turn this club to another planet fitness I don’t know what’s to come but we’ll see. But all around LA fitness Richardson hands down the best club I’ve visited in Dallas

Dont waste your time with this establishment. there hidden fees are ridiculous and when you find somewhere that is better and has more amenities, they charge you to leave.

Their team that closes each night is terrible. I arrive to workout at 5am when they open and the gym floor is always a total mess—weights still on all of the machines, dumbbells unracked everywhere, trash on the floor. Also, if I had a nickel for every time I discovered there was no toilet paper in the restroom I would have $0.25.

First I will give the positive news. I have attended this club regularly for more than four years. The staff, including personal trainers, have always been cordial to me. At this club I belong to a small minority, Caucasian, but have always been treated kindly, with many other members offering help even without being solicited.Now Ill summarize the problems with repairs to equipment.The hot water was out for more than a month. Since I have very nice showers at home this was not an issue for me. The Sitting Leg Press machine was scheduled for repair for more than six months. Again, a single machine without function is hardly a serious issue since there are many other machines that can be substituted. The mens sauna has been non-functional for about a month. This is a severe problem for me and for many other members. The sauna is used for warmup by some members and for sweating and sore muscle reduction by many members. I personally have found no good substitute for the sauna to obtain substantial reduction in muscle soreness a day or two after a workout. I was told that operations was working on the issue, but ordering and obtaining parts should be of a fairly short duration and a month is far too long to wait for repair.I am removing a star from my original review since the mens sauna is still down after five weeks. This practice of not repairing the sauna is consistent with other non-functioning equipment. Two of the four wall clocks have been non-functional for months.Other equipment just sits without repairs for months. Hey ladies, can we join you in your sauna?The mens sauna has been prepared for a while now. With very goodstaff, very good members, and now the equipment working, this clubclimbs to the highest status. People are coming back to this club and myexperience with the other members recently has been very positive.

Great gym for any workout needs

Ive been an LA Fitness member for an extended period of time, and out of all of the locations I visit within 10 miles, this is by far the worst one. Management isnt very good, and equipment is ALWAYS down. Cable machines down for more than a week at a time, hot water out for a month. And now the sauna has been out for at least a month and a half at this point. And no one has an idea when anything will be up and running, ever. If youre having problems at this location, I would advocate going to another location, but if not possible, switch gyms. Plenty of other gyms that provide the same amenities PLUS working equipment at the same price.

For some reason in all the team classes the door is open and we all have to hear the loud music and the instructor commands ! People complaining about that but the manager is only focusing on her cellphone!Please fix that issue there is no need to leave the gym with a headache !!!!

Closes too early on the weekends and too early on holidays, not everyone is always celebrating the holidays. Ill be signing with 24 Fitness.

I went in today at 3 pm ready to check out the gym and purchase a membership if I liked it. First the salesmen, I think his name was Blue? Told me that I could workout if he held on to my ID. I told him I’d prefer not to do that and to take my information down and I’d speak to him on the way out. Then he told me “since You’re not in the system” I could either sign up for a membership right at that moment or pay the 1 day fee of 15.I came in to compare the rates and experiences to golds, ready to purchase a membership on the way out, but how do I even do that if I can’t see or experience the gym? I worked as membership sales men so I understand he probably saw me as a low sale rate (I’m a college student) and tried to force me into making an impulse decision and disguised it as “company policy”, but after this interaction I walked out the door. You don’t sell memberships acting like a jerk.

Clean but can get too crowded. Members monopolizing two equipments at a time by placing their belongings on the equipment they arent currently using.

Great workouts! I always leave feeling good about the workout and ready to start my day. I love the old school approach and the time spent getting the basics down!

No WiFi! The locker room is in disrepair and the other facilities seem like they havent been touched up in years. A number of the equipment pieces are in disrepair and free weights are rarely where they are supposed to be.UPDATE: 2 years later and the locker room is regularly covered in trash with the staff saying “It’s not my job. The cleaning guy will be here later.” Weights are still never reracked and finding trash on the gym floor is a common occurrence.

In general I like this facility except the bathrooms are almost always dirty. Other than that I like the equipment, the classes, the staff.

I called to get pricing and the guy was very unhelpful. He wanted me to come in because he said there was over 19 pricing options. I said I just wanted a single location price and he said there was literally 9 different prices for that and there was 3 people waiting to talk to him so he couldnt go over the prices. What?

Great gym ! Convenient location

No hot water in showers.It has been two weeks almost. First told, it would be fixed last monday when operations manager returns, today I am told it would take a week.If that Ops Manager was reporting to me, he d get his last write-up for incompetency on such a small problem.

Great gym to get a great workout. The pool is fantastic and usually does not have that many people, I just wish it was heated. Inside is big and spacious but could use a bigger area to stretch.

Travis was really great help. His service was beyond expectations. The facility was very nice and clean. Travis made sure I got a great deal!

I GO FOR MY BACK AND HIP PROBLEMS. VAST ARRAY OF TOOLS TO WORK ON BODY. ALSO HAVE ALL IMPORTANT TORSO TWISTER FOR LOWER BACK PAIN AND LARGE HOT TUBAS WELL AS POOL. FRIENDLY, HELPFUL PERSONNEL. OPEN TILL 11 PM WEEKDAYS. ONLY TILL 8PM SAT AND SUN. Do wish they were open later Sat and Sun.

The customer service was horrible, I had a guest pass to check out the gym I was planning to get a membership with LA Fitness and cancel my membership with Equinox Gym.I had the worst experience with LA fitness at Richardson, TX, even though I had a guest pass, and planning to get a membership, Bernard Davis- General Manager ; who was standing on the counter told me he can’t honor the guest pass and that I have to pay $15 to access the gym, the guest pass didn’t mention anything about a fee. Even thought I was willing to pay the $15 dollars. When I wanted to pay in cash using they only bills that I had with me were $100’s and $50’s, Bernard Davis- General Manager, and his other associates told me that they can’t give me change back, so they wanted to keep the $35 dollars.I don’t know who hired them to be a good represent LA Fitness, but they are doing a horrible job in being friendly and welcoming.Don’t join Richardson, TX, LA Fitness Gym, and if they have the same staff in All locations, don’t join LA Fitness until they change the staff members.

During admission they told me there is offer and no annual fee but they charged annual fee. Once you get admission they not care for your complain. For cancellation you have to physically at place and they tells you that you have to cancel 5 days before your payment date.

The customer service was absolutely horrible,I had the worst experience with LA fitness at Richardson, TX...This guy Bernard Davis who is General Manager is HORRIBLE..I had a hard time getting a guest pass activated with this guy..And when I invited my other friend to check out the gym today him and his other sales associate stayed seated the whole time and just watched us sit at the front desk waiting to be helped..He knew my buddy was trying to get a guest pass activated. .These guys have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE...I wouldnt be surprised if hes pocketing the money from people paying for a guest pass👎🏽

Swimming pool, jacuzzi,spa amazing after a good workout! Only thing I can say is I would bring aqua shoes for water room and showers!

I opened my gym member with them July last year. Then they offered me a free session with a trainer to see how I liked it. So I came in and trained with Conrad. He then deliberately explained the contract totally wrong to get me sign up with him. He told me that it was not a contract, it was a month to month base and I could cancel anytime. And he would be my trainer. Since he seemed to be very nice and convincing, and I wanted to get in shape for my wedding this coming year, I signed up with him. After the first session, he disappeared and I was assigned another trainer, who was so rude to me. So I wanted to cancel, only to find out it was a 12-month contract, copy of which Conrad did not give me after I signed up on the computer with him. So I called the corporate line, and they said I had to pay $600 (the 50% of the remaining contract) to cancel. I came into the gym to speak to the manager, who was Rick at that time, and he was so rude. Then I spoke to the sale guy that I signed up with since the beginning, the whole team promised to help, said they would speak to General Manager or district manager and would help me out. NO ONE. No one called me back. I finally gave up and came in to cancel, whatever it took. When I came back there, they changed the whole team, from Manager to the sale team and even personal trainers. The guy helped me cancel member was Ben. And he said Conrad was fired since LA realized what he did to me and other customers. But Ben could not help me cancel my personal training sessions, he would notice the lady in charge and she would give me a call. Another lie. No one called me back. At this point, I was so tired of fighting. So I came in to use up all of my sessions until the contract ended this June. I pretty much enjoyed working out with Afraz. But again, this company has the worst customer service ever. And they dont treat customers the way they suppose to. So dont come in here. Contracts are never transparent.

The Activity every one should do is joining la fitness and do fitness excercise . Its the best site that located @belt line and plano road.

I am currently waiting on a return call about membership. I purchased a 3 yr membership right before turning 65 and now have a Silver Sneakers free pass. Wish I had known they accepted Silver Sneakers!!! I am not certain how this is going to turn out. A lot of money thrown away if nothing can be done. Not good for a retiree. I do love the pool and several pool classes.An update: I was allowed to give my paid membership to another person for another LA Fitness, which was out of town. I would have preferred a refund, but at least another person was able to benefit.If you are retiring soon, check out your retirement benefits. Many retirement benefits include Silver Sneakers. Silver Sneakers pays a corporate price to many different gyms. In other words, you are not charged personally, to be a member.You can have membership at several different gyms. Hope this is a help!

Our family of six recently joined the gym. Our experience has been great so far. Lin was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and thorough as he covered every detail of our membership. The front staff has welcomed us and offered much encouragement to help us get off to a good start in our fitness program. When we initially toured the facility, we ran into a member in the womens locker room. When asked how long she had been a member, she exclaimed, Four years and I love it!

I highly urge you to stay away from this place. I used to be a member at LA fitness a few years ago and I was debating on renewing my membership so that i could workout with my friend. My friend, eager to get me to join his gym, tried to use his VIP guest pass to get me into the gym. We were told by the manager that we could not use the VIP guest past because I was a previous member. It wasnt until we investigated, the next day, that we found out that the LA fitness policy on this states that as long as you have not been a member within the last 6 months you can use the VIP guest pass. I am not upset at how the manager didnt know or understand the LA Fitness policies, the reason I give this facility a 1 star review was for the manor in which we were spoken to by the same manager. We were told that we were trying to take advantage of them and that there was no reason for me to check out the gym since they are all the same and since i was already a member i should know what it is like. Thankfully there is a 24 hour fitness within 3 minutes of this place with professional managerial staff.

Terrible place! they let families with kids play in the pool in 2 lanes. I was doing back surgery rehab exercises in 3rd lane. 2 different foreign men coming in later, asked if they could share my lane. i said yes if they were exercising, no if they were going to swim. i told them they could swim in other 2 lanes. they both screamed at me to get out. i kept exercising. they got the desk attendant to come talk to me. i explained i could not be doing leg or balance with someone swimming in my lane. he had the kids all get in middle lane so Asian man could swim in lane 1. i told parents kids were fine in my lane so long as they did not knock me down. kids were splashing me and screaming pool is for swimming, get out. when I got out, using steps, Asian man purposely swam into me. this was horrible harrassment and elder abuse. I will be reporting it to silver sneakers and aarp renew active and corporate LA.

The old GM, Bernard, got fired for stealing people’s’ money and he also scammed me for my pre-paid 3-year membership (about $24/month WITHOUT guest privileges). The new managers/corporate couldn’t help me get the guest privileges that I was promised by the old GM (because the text messages between us weren’t proof enough). You rather go to 24 than LA to prevent dealing with all of this. At least you won’t scammed by a manager who just wants money and takes advantage of their customers.

This club lock doors and push their customers leave one hour before closing, do not respect schedule for their members.

Love it here. The facility is great, the machines are perfect and while the staff is not the greatest ever, that doesnt really bug somebody who knows what to do and how to do it. The locker room gets a bad rep, I think its just fine. No worse than any other locker room Ive been in, and a lot better than most. Been here for 1+ years and will continue to be here!

Very nice LA Fitness! Staff was nice and professional before and after I signed up. Gets a little crowded around 5 but not as bad as other gyms and the people that go there are friendly as well. No billing problems. Would recommend.

One of the more affordable gyms in North Texas. Lot of branches. Flexible options in terms of memberships. Clean facilities. Lot of amenities. Racquetball and basketball court, yoga, zumba and other such classes, 25m swimming pool, sauna, spa pool and the usual gym equipment. Personal trainers not included in membership.

Weights are always put up, pool is clean and clear, staff is always welcoming and on top of things. If youre thinking about joining, ask for Travis. Great customer service, he definitely made a difference on our decision to stay with LA Fitness. Transfered from the Sachse location, and im glad we did.

We have been members at this particular location for over two years and I am very disappointed to say it has continued to decline significantly over. Starting with cleanliness- the place is a mess and the employees do not take any responsibility. The bathroom has been littered with paper towels and when we brought that to someone’s attention their response was simply “that’s not my job”. The gym floor is filthy, there are paper towels littered everywhere between the equipment. Secondly, no one puts weights up. While that is not necessarily the employees job it has progressively gotten worse- which I would only assume is an extension of the patrons seeing the lack of concern for the care and maintenance of the gym. I truly hope the upkeep of the gym can be improved as we have enjoyed being members here and it is so conveniently located. I’m honestly surprised that this LA fitness has gotten such good reviews.

Morning staff is polite and fairly friendly as long as you are. They try to keep it clean but some patrons are pigs and the gym isnt as clean as Id like it to be. For $35 per month and access to gyms all over the country its a good deal.

Really like the new manager. I don’t come to this location much but she is turning the place around. Always friendly when I come and from what I’ve seen she cares about members...hope she stays

I have never been bothered by anyone who works there. I have been going for over a week now and absolutely love how clean everything is. From the equipment to the sauna. I only wish it were 24 hours but other than that it is lovely!

Awesome place!!! Always clean and everyone is so friendly! Maddie is a wonderful manager and is always polite and is the best face to see every day.

All the equipments are new and in good condition. The place is mostly clean but I found cockroaches twice in the women shower area!! Around treadmills are dusty too! I hope they fix that issue!

Just canceled my membership because we found out we are pregnant. They were so helpful and understanding of my situation no hassle or long paperwork. Love the classes definitely will be back after the baby is born!

The showers can be cleaner. The equipment is clean and in good shape. The staff has been helpful and nice, but i havent asked to much. Just big enough that i can find equipment to use.

I love the water exercise class. And the hot tub is even better. This time I also used the sauna.

If youre looking for personal training LA Fitness is not the place. They are more about money and are very shady on the info they give you in reguards to youre contract. Anyone that will mess over my sin with Autism Spectrum Disorder shouldnt be in business. The trainer told him he wouldnt be available and charged him for no shows.If you dont know how to use the equipment as a new member they are suppose to help you if not join another gym because every other gym Ive attended offered to help with equipment usage.Part of them getting you to purchase training sessions is to teach you how to use the equipment.

Been a member of various LA fitness gyms for around 10 years. By far one of the most consistent gym franchises from a layout and equipment perspective. Was particularly excited the first time i walked into this location and noticed the plates were the perfectly round, rubber-coated plates as opposed to the octagonal shaped ones some gyms have (i understand its nice to prevent the bar from rolling, but safety comes first, round plates > octagonal when you have to dump the weight).Anyway, facility stays pretty clean from what i could tell. Its not crazy packed during the times i like to work out which is a plus. The general vibe is good - people who want to work on their fitness but arent professional bodybuilders making everyone feel out of place.Only been attending this gym for two weeks but big fan thus far.

Ive had a membership here for 7 years. I think it is a real value. If you like aerobic classes you will love the variety of classes offered. Instructors are awesome.

This gym is seriously the best gym experience Ive ever had. And Ive been to a few... Great knowledgable staff that signed me up. And training assessment by the greatest person, Wes. Hes awesome. Looking forward to my training with Joselin. Gym smells great when you walk in. Locker room is clean. . Other wise theres a very pleasant and polite staff member who cleans often. Nice pool. I just joined about a month ago. Ive had an awesome experience so far. The people that work here remember who I am and have been really helpful since I had no idea what to do when I started! I have gone so long feeling uncomfortable in gyms, and I feel comfortable here! Ive never showed up or left without someone at the front desk being friendly and Ive gone almost everyday for this month. It makes me sad that theyre getting such bad reviews, I think theyre awesome!

Clean place to swim

Best gym I know of. Great equipment, decent staff (generally speaking), competitive pricing. If youre looking for after midnight 24-Hour Fitness is 4 you, plenty of smaller optuons in this category as well,at least in NTx. If you want great equipment and clean facilities pay the extra $5. Just my opinion, no desire to swim, shower nor exercise in filth... So I chose LA. If Shaun, Sean, Shawn tries to sell you a contract however, RUN, great sales tactics for a belly crawler

LA Fitness is my go to gym. I been to many of them. From California to all the way to Florida. So I know what to expect when I go into an LA Fitness. I got some mixed feelings about this particular gym in Richardson. Which is sad because I live about 5 mins away from this gym.Its a clean gym. Pretty much every time I go in, I see a staff member cleaning the equipment. Even though they may be doing some touch ups. Its just nice to see someone cleaning. The staff is wonderful. Very nice and polite. Always say hi or goodbye.Unfortunately the bad outweighs the good. This is a great gym but the members. Gosh I HATE the members who go there. I have changed my schedule to avoid the rude members. I gone there when the gym opens, before lunch, after lunch, and even gone right before they close. Its pretty much a guarantee that Im going to have a bad time. The members here like to take hold of multiple machines and get upset if you use a machine that they are not using. Same thing with weights. You cant even tell if they are using them or not. The members dont put the weights back. I also hear members talk negative about other members because they are not Swole.This gym has members with very poor gym etiquette and I shouldnt have to drive 25 minutes to the Rowlett LA Fitness. When I have a gym thats 5 minutes away from me. Now I know this is not the gyms fault and thats why I didnt give it a low rating. Like I said, this is a nice gym. Its the members that suck. I dont know how this issue can be resolved. As you can see gym etiquette post on their TV and flyers. Its just sad to see grown adults who dont have manners that were taught to them when they were babies. Ill still go to this gym. But just for the convenience. Get in, try to do my thing, and get out.

The gym is getting worse. Moldy shower curtains, bathroom stalls are having more broken doors.Someone is breaking into lockers, I have reported this to management.Machines and weight options are good however.

Pretty good gym overall! I play basketball and work-out, yet as a someone who has been a member of this gym for a little bit over a year now, I still haven’t used the pool or hot tub/jacuzzi next to the pool. I have, though, used the sauna a good amount of times and its always at a good heated/hot temperature. It’s an up-and-down facility (which I think more LA Fitness gyms are???) with the treadmills, bikes, and standing-bikes - that aren’t in the bike rooms up-stairs, and the plenty of equipment down-stairs. I’ve never played or been or practiced in those bright/light-filled rooms where people hit badmintons/racquetballs with their racquets to practice, but I bet the brightly-lit practice gym-floored rooms are nice.There’s rarely wait time (it does happen a few rare times) to wait for equipment, even when the amount of people in the gym is at its apex or at its peak. Basketball courts are shiny, and you can clearly hear the squeaking of shoes (and, of course, the random dribbling of basketballs here and there, maybe there but not there) worn by former high school JV and varsity, D-II and D-III offerees, basketball-enthusiasts, collegiate or even NBA-fans (actually, not surprising), and even - wait for it - 2K fans all playing pick-up - & at times recreation-league-like as if there was a crowd or something - BASKETBALL.

Weight Equipment is nice. Customer Service non existent. Restroom is clean at times but you can occasionally spot a roach in the locker rooms. If you like to work out late keep moving they close early on weekdays and weekends.

The staff is nice enough. If you arent legitimately interested in a trainer, dont take them up on the free training session. Its a sales pitch.Im paying $30 per month. which is a fair price. When I started they had carpet in the locker rooms--terrible idea. The carpet has since been replaced and the locker rooms dont smell anymore! The showers are kept pretty clean. LA Fitness can earn the last star by installing something to alert them that the towel dispenser is empty on the second floor and by washing the shower curtains more often than they do currently.

The location is perfect, but the constantly dirty locker rooms and broken treadmills were a real turn off. Old band aids and wet paper towels in the showers are really gross. The place is also infected by dude bro muscleheads that love to scream while they lift weights and then practically throw them to the ground when they finish. And they will hog weights and benches and they will get in your face if you try to mix in a set.The trainers will also hog machines for their clients and will not let you mix in either.

Great Local gym! Treadmills are king of outdated but overall the gym is a great atmosphere.

Terrible experience throughout my membership here. As the weight room and other various utilities such as the basketball court, swimming pool, and raquetball courts are very useful and allow you to get your moneys worth out of your membership dues, the customer service is equally as bad. The front desk staff refuses to acknowledge your existence in the short 10-second period that they are scanning your card and as you are leaving, the sales associates are extremely unprofessional and honestly seem stoned, and the manager treats members as if they are his own staff, rather than paying customers. I was with 24 Hour Fitness before I came here (for only 2 months before leaving) and I will be signing with them again shortly. Take caution before signing here!

They have recently remodeled the facility and added a few more machines good environment enjoying my workouts the only issue is that in the mens sauna there are Knuckleheads that throw water on the coals or try to cover at the thermostat and make it way too hot in there theyre trying to control that

Started bad... had an evaluation appointment at 6:00pm... I confirmed with Montrell via text and he never came... at 6:18pm decided to do my own thing... that’s how companies start failing in customer service... someone else came to assist but just decided to not waste my time.

Good gym, overall not sure its worth more than what I pay at Youfit.

Richardson is fortunate to have a facility like LAFITNESS at Beltline and Plano Road. While not quite as nice as their flagship in Dallas on Haskell - no towel service, for instance - it is a very nice club with high quality, well maintained equipment. They also have a nice selection of classes and class times to choose from. Check it out.

Recent renovation is nice, however, the nasty sewage smell still fills the club. Almost unbearable. Please address the issue!

Great facility to be in shape! But in general I dont like their adviser behavior to forced us to have a plan for training with a trainer! They insisted us in many ways to have a plan and have contract for a year! I dont know where I am tomorrow!!!

So frustrating could someone fix the water fountains upfront. They barely have water flow... Keep us hydrated pleaseeee

LA Fitness is the WORST GYM/WORKOUT facility EVER!! They would not honor a Guest Pass and have managers that abuse their POWER!! Just because you are the manager doesnt mean you can deny a guest pass just because you feel like it. This is the 2nd time I had an issue at different facilities with Management that are HORRIBLE!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! HERE I COME 24 HOUR FITNESS!!!!!!!But again, this company has the worst customer service ever. And they dont treat customers the way they suppose to. So dont come here.

This place rocks! The entire place was completely gutted and remodeled a few months back. Everything is Brand New! floors and equipment. They spared no money on the remodel.

Gunnar is a nice fellow and all that stuff but Id rather pay Lifetime $100 a month and get everything I really want. Thats a happy ending

I have always been so hesitant to join these franchise gyms. You hear stories, see the reviews, and I have not had a great experience of my own years ago. But when I went in today, I met this guy Gunnar. He was so freaking helpful and patient, talked me through everything. I am extremely picky and probable asked 1000 questions, but it didnt seem to phase him. There were some injuries I faced in the past that concerned me, and he was able to direct me to what would work for me. Never seemed to be pushy like I dealt with before. Definitely appreciated it, I dont normally write reviews, but I was really impressed.
