It would be nice if they had a person to update their website to inform people that they are closed on a regular business day . Then some people wouldnt show up and not be able to dump their trash !

This review is primarily to warn others not to waste their time driving out to this transfer station. The Stead Transfer Station is currently closed for renovations, and their website does not list which locations are currently open, or valid phone numbers to confirm if they are open. The website is also exceptionally convoluted and made it almost impossible to find a listing of their drop off locations.

Website says the Stead Transfer station is open! Doing some spring cleaning and they are close! Arrive and they are closed! NOW we have to go to Lockwood....way out of the way! WM needs to update their site!!! Please state you are closed for dumping! 😤

If you are looking for a cheap and quick place to dump your trash in the Reno-Sparks area this is definitely the place to go.This location does not seem to be busy and tends to be cleaner than the other Waste Station sites.Workers here were kind, friendly and professional. Workers joked and had a jovial personality.

Ease to find, get into and use. Be thoughtful prior to bringing a trailer longer than 18 feet pulled by a standard full size pick-up. Not a lot of turning room...

When the entire community heads to a free dump day, fully expect long lines (an hour or longer) mid to late day. Come early and spend 10 minutes in line, if that. Think holiday airline travel and use common sense. Its a dump, not a Hilton. Mice, birds, smell, sharp objects, noise. Bring gloves and ear muffs if you are timid. If you are a Reno (not Sparks) resident, you can bring your Waste Management bill along, and you get 4 (or maybe 5?) free 1 vehicle worth dump every year. That is SUPER handy!

Line was very long today. Ive been here over an hour. Still waiting. But cant beat the cheap price. $50 for 8 bins. Or $19.99 per bin elsewhere..

This place is so corrupt, not happy the way they treat their employees. But what can you do to a monopoly you have no choice.

Free dump days are almost as long as the lines heading to Burning Man. At least two hour wait if you come a couple hours after opening. And if you have a little too much, you will pay anyway. If youre a Waste Management customer, use 1 of your 4 freebies you get each year.
