A useful company that provides a valuable service to Reno residents. Well-managed, well communicated and reliable. Waste Management provides various waste collection services to accommodate residents weekly disposal and yard waste disposal projects. Large dumpsters can be ordered for construction jobs or renovations. The prices for these dumpsters can be a little high. Bagster is another service provided that might be a little cheaper than the dumpsters. Overall its hard to many complaints about waste Management. Great job guys, keep it up!

I just called the recycling center (located on Commercial Row, Reno) and after wading through numerous prompts I was able to talk to a real person. Unfortunately, she did not know if the recycling drop off was open to the public. She had to ask several people and still was not sure of its status. She thought it may be open in July, but could not promise it. I have been talking my recycling (plastic, card board, glass) to the facility for years and I am sorry it is still closed. I hope it opens soon, my garage is loaded with recycling........

So awesome to load everything up and take it down there to find out they are closed due to COVID (June 4th) even though both google and their website says they are open.

It is very easy to dump your cardboard boxes and it takes 5 minutes or less.

In looking at some of the other reviews it appears that there is confusion between the recycling center and the waste transfer station, both owned by Waste Management and both on Commercial Row. However, they are separate facilities with different addresses (Sutro Street runs between them) and function differently. The recycling center is open to the public- you drive through the gate, find the appropriate bay or dumpster that is clearly labeled by materials (example- cardboard), pull up to it, unload your vehicle and leave. All materials I’ve needed to drop off have been outdoors and the only employee interactions I’ve ever had was a friendly wave.My only advice would be to check the hours they are open before heading there. The hours and days are more limited than the transfer station, they seem to observe more holidays and I’ve found the gate closed a few minutes early a couple times. It is easy, fast, and very straight forward to use. Short of a red carpet and vehicle attendants to unload and then wash your car, I’m not sure how it could operate any smoother.

I love this recycling center, they are very helpful and I have been using it for 20 years. I really like the recycle cans they bring to the house, I dont have to make so many trips to the center now but I still use it when things do not fit in my can.

Slowest people ever at the WM public transfer station. Be prepared to wait FOREVER. With a monopoly in town, you’d think they could automate and hire more than one person at the pay hut. Come on, WM!

These people are idiots. They are SOOOOOO SLOOOOOOW to get your vehicle in. Honestly, I would fire all management and get some competent people in there who understand that every dumping bay should have a vehicle in it.Right now half the bays are empty because they have no intelligent process to get vehicles in and out quickly. The customers are lined way down the street. How dumb can you be?

I just moved to Reno and the complex I moved in to does not have a recycling center so I called WM to see which center was closest that takes cardboard. The operator I spoke with said that it was on Commercial Row and gave me the hours of operation. Of course the recycling center is only open from 8-4:30 during the week (I work 7:30-5) and the transfer station is open from 7:00 - 5:00. I got up early so that I could drop the cardboard off before work (keep in mind I live in South Reno and the station is in north Reno). I got to what I thought was the transfer station and no one was there. I called to complain and was told the recycling station is the one located on the corner of Sutro and Commercial. The transfer station that opens at 7:00 is the opposite direction on Commercial. Now, why didnt the operator I spoke with yesterday feel the importance to tell me there were two stations. She gave me the address and that was it. I am just trying to do the right thing but at this point I am really fed up and tempted to just throw it in the garbage just to free up space in my car.

This shouldnt be the only decent recycling center. Five stars for just being what it is and serving the purpose it does. And if Waste Management is going to be the only one that recycles more than one type of thing, there needs to be two Waste Managements. For such a well funded city Renos recycling program SUCKS. I find this to be complete faggotry. EDIT: I take that back there are two, found it. And its much closer.

This place is a dump! There is litter everywhere and it smells like garbage! The employees smell like trash collectors (nothing against trash collectors). I hope they clean up their image, and show some pride in their workplace. This dirty landfill could give Billy Mayss Oxyclean a run for its money, I dont think its possible to get all the rubbish and scum off the floor! If we are going to keep this city clean, we should start with this place, but by the looks of it-it might be just a WASTE of time!

Terrible customer service. No way for senior citizens to dump without a truck or hiring a person. California takes care of their seniors!

No wonder why people illegally dump in our mountains! Waste Management is clearly robbing the people out of their hard earned money. I took a load to the commercial row facility in a ford ranger with a 5x3 bed on it and my load was only tree branches smashed down and level with the top of the bed and it was $34. I took the same size load the week before of the same tree branches I was trimming around my yard and it was $27. So thats $7.00 they just decided to charge me extra. So if they do that to every customer thats just ROBBERY! Somethings not right with that business. Very shady!
