These guys are pretty good. Fair prices, clean cars and good customer service. Ive rented twice from this location and never had a problem. I did get a car on one of these instances that had worn out tires. I asked for a replacement and they got one for me right away with no hassle.

Price point was good but the old addage, you get what you pay for applies.Picked up car, given paperwork. 4 day rental, 75 out the door, if 6, price was 225. Opted for 4. Additional days at 12.71, but an undisclosed late fee applied.No drop offs during closed hours. Paper that they give you at rental has different times than website. When you call local number, you are redirected to call center with excuses made as to why you cant reach rental counter.Not pleased with this lack of customer service.

We rented a car from Payless. We were early picking it up, no problems and didn’t have to wait. Very friendly staff, great service, no hidden fees. Highly recommend Payless for you rental car needs!!

Totally painless and hassle free. I was greeted promptly and they had the car I rented in the lot. I did not have that experience with another company recently, so this was a pleasant surprise. The lady I dropped the car off with also had a smile on her face and a great attitude. Refreshing to get this kind of service. I will be back.

I was a little worried about booking with a company called payless, I mean the name sounded like a second rate company. But, when I arrived at the counter I was greeted by a nice young lady who not only rented me a car, but went out of her way to share her experience with the same type of vehicle I was there to pick up. It took a little while to get shuttled over to the facility but it was worth the wait. The car was clean and a pleasure to drive. It performed flawlessly.Upon returning, the attendant was courteous and the check in procedure was fast and efficient. Looking forward to doing business with Payless again!

ABSOLUTELY RUDE! I first came in to see if I could pick up the car I reserved 30 minutes earlier. She told me no, which I understand. That was on me. Then I go online and change my reservation to 30 minutes earlier and walk up to the desk, the lady had walked away and was no where to be found. I wait what felt like forever and the lady walks back to the desk and gives me an exasperated look. I tell her that I changed my reservation. She says “oh well I still can’t do anything for you because I have no cars” with the worst attitude in the world. I ask what that means, she says you can wait or pay more for a different car. Mind you, when I changed my reservation, no one ever said there were no more cars. And then she tells me “I found a car, drivers liscense and card” like she wasn’t just the rudest thing. I hand over my liscense and a debit card and she tells me she can’t take my card because it’s not a credit card. Why is this woman giving me the hardest time just to get a car? I’m sure there IS some kind of policy for what kind of card you can pay with but WTF lady. Then when I tell her she’s been super rude, she just brushes it off by saying “all I said was I didn’t have a car.” This is garbage, I work in customer service and what I experienced here was disgusting. Seriously Payless, work on who you hire because you can believe I will no longer be reserving vehicles with you, and I’ll be telling anyone and everyone I know to stay away.

Its a car rental agency. They rent cars. I was returning a rented VW Beetle rented by in-laws. The person inspecting the car didnt seem at all concerned that I had found fresh oil on my driveway after the car had been parked there, or that I had checked the oil and found it was down a quart. Or that I had traced the oil to a leaking crush washer under the drain plug. The engine had lost that oil traveling to the Bay area and back because I checked it before it made the trip.It was like he heard all this before, but at least he didnt blame the messager and add any changes in the bill. He just nodded and handed me the pen, I signed, and he handed me my copy.

I thought I was able to pay online, but it was just holding my car, and 8 needed the physical card. I left it in Iowa when I visited California. Kind of dumb.

Cheap prices, unlimited miles, great SUV, friendly service. Was expecting much less of a car at the price (rent a wreck), but got what seemed like a brand new SUV. It had 26K miles on it but looked and smelled like new. Drove it about 250 miles and it was perfect for 3 adults with no issues or complaints. We could have not asked for more!

Price was right and the staff was friendly and professional. The clerk upgraded me to the midsize for free. I was looking at taking a shuttle from the airport. Would have been $30 each way and it took three hours. Renting a car from Payless was $20 for the day I needed the car plus $8 in gas. Definitely recommend payless for a quick trip. Not sure it would have been a great deal if I needed the car for 3+ days.I would definitely rent from Payless again.

Scam. Do not fall for it. You can rent a car, but you will get ripped off. They will show you cheap prices when booking and then hit you with confusion and additional fees. I thought I was paying $130 dollars. My receipt when booking online said this much. Ended up paying $279.When i arrived to pick up my car, Barbara initiated the scam. First I was sold a $25 insurance policy. Seemed like a decent price to prevent the headache. Then Barbara explained how gas works. If you dont bring the tank back on full, we will fill it up ourselves and charge you. She went on to give me the advice, it is cheaper to let us do it. We are only $2.30 a gallon and the gas stations around hear $2.70 a gallon. She printed the paperwork. I was giving a new receipt. It showed a $149 dollars. I questioned this $149. I said, i already paid $130.04, I am not paying an additional $149 am I? No, she said and followed it with a convoluted answer about how I am only paying the difference between the two or something along those lines. She sensed my concern for being charged an additional $149 and skillfully deflected it. We had been traveling all day other people were waiting behind me so I took her answer and hesitantly signed the paperwork. Fast forward a few days. I dropped off my car. Everything went fine in that department. Now am I back home and looking two Payless charges on my account. The $130 from when I booked online and an additional $149. When I called to get clarity on the additional charges, they had no issue clearly explaining the additional payment. You bought the $25 insurance, but that was per day and we charged you $43 for gas. So a $25 insurance policy I bought was actually $100 and the tank I returned 3/4 of the way full cost $43 dollars to fill up. It was a Kia Optima may have cost $10 bucks to top off the tank.It is a crappy way to do business, but technically I am in the wrong so I dont have much of a recourse.

In the hundred plus cars Ive rented this branch is by far the worst. I rented an SUV from Payless and returned it with no damage. The gentlemen who checked in my vehicle notated no damage upon checking in my vehicle. Several weeks later I get a collection claim in the mail for a cracked windshield! Out of all the potential areas of a vehicle you could damage a windshield is by far the most noticeable but yet they claim the guy who checked in the car did not notice it upon checkin? Give me a break! Isnt that your job? Ive never felt more ripped off by a rental car company. Ive used Payless before and never had an issue but this branch is a joke. Im still fighting and wasting time with their collection company over this bs.

Dont do it. Their rates may be cheap, but their service is terrible. They arent actually located at the airport and it was a horrible chore to drop the vehicle back off. Just pay the extra 5-10 bucks a day for a different company, and save yourself grief and time.

We rented a vehicle from the Payless that operates out of the Reno Airport. The shuttle driver who picked my boyfriend up was rude on the way to the rental car pick up location.The rental car was dirty on the inside, the passenger side seat lever was broken, and the windshield wipers were bad (we did not find out until we hit snow).When we went to return the rental vehicle, we pulled in to the poorly lit parking area and I unknowingly parked in the shuttle pick up area. The shuttle driver came to my window and told me that the parking was for shuttles only. I told him ok and that I would move. He then said, Thats why its labeled for shuttles only, in a very condescending tone. I told him that he didnt have to be rude, I didnt see that it said it was for shuttles only. At that point he started to argue and said, well it clearly says shuttle parking only. Again, I reiterated that it was only labeled on one side and I did not see it since it was so dark.Poor service, rude people. The vehicle was pretty cheap, however, I would have paid double and gone with a different car rental agency. I do not care how inexpensive their rentals are, I will NEVER do business with them again.

This place is the scammiest car rental place in the USA and I travel weekly for me job. Not only do they have worse cars that they may try to say you damaged but they do other scams with the contract. They will ask you if you want any insurance etc and then when you say no they say. Ok, initial these lines here declining coverage. What they wont say is one of the spots they highlighted is to accept roadside assistance. When I complained to the 2 gangbanger employees I returned the car too they said sounds like a personal problem then refused to shuttle me to the terminal so I had to walk.The good reviews on this site are also fake. You can research it easily by looking up the users. What a joke. If you manage this place you should be ashamed.

Worst rental car experience Ive ever had! Beware of this business. From workers giving out wrong information, no one at the rental desk after their opening time, workers saying its no my fault the scheduled worker didnt show up, phone customer service was rude did not understand my english, never email me my complaint number, to the on site manager that doesnt have a clue about how bad his rental branch really is. He never called me back as promised as well! Im disgusted with the whole experience. Ive been trying to speak to a customer supervisor, theres never one available and no phone number to call the cooperate office at all.

Dont believe what you read, they truly are not on property, the cars are offsite which then means a shuttle. The shuttle took forever to pick up.The customer service was lacking at the onset and continued through to the car drop off. I will gladly pay more for onsite cars and customer service! I wont be back.

I picked this place since I due to the hours they said they were open and for the fact I didnt have to actually go into the airport to pick the vehicle up. NOT WORTH IT.After being dropped off at my pickup time, it took 45 minutes to check out. I go with Israel to check over the Toyota 4Runner and was told to point out damages. I started pointing out paint flakes and dings/dents...NO! Those are too small, Im not marking those. The last thing I see is a very small rock chip with a 1/2 crack in the lower left window shield. TOO SMALL, not marking it. MAKE THEM MARK IT! Or dont sign the paper work.We get up to Oregon where its raining, turn on the defroster in the morning and the window starts to crack.The letter I just received from Payless Car Rental:Thank you for renting a vehicle with Payless Car Rental on 4/12/17. Please be advised that during the course of the rental, our vehicle incurred ERO GLASS damage. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental contract, please note you are responsible for the costs to repair this damage.$184 was just charged to my credit card for TURNING ON THE DAMNED DEFROSTER!

I agree i rented a car from the online,got the and they told me i needed $650 on my bank card when i already had reservation and paid for the car online, the they said the still had to hold $ 200, when it was all said and done they kept my $200 and said they owl me anything. these people are over charging and nabbing people for there money it sad..reno location buy the bus station RTC..dont go there.
