Excellent staff and services. A little expensive but you get what you pay for. I wont be going anywhere else.
Its ok, its not as refined as some of the others. Friendly caring staff. Jury is still out on the cut, but they listen to what you want.
Shannon was the best! I went in not really knowing what I wanted, just that I wanted something more modern. And boy did she deliver! She even worked with my cowlick and did an amazing job with the short to long method. A true master!
Amazing customer service and attention to detail. Been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. All the girls are great, but Stacey is the best!
I arrived at 1215 for my 1pm appt. I checked it and was asked to wait in the car. At 1255 the clerk called me and said the stylist was running 5 minutes late. I waited until 1:30 being patient because of covid. The clerk says oh your stylist was ready at 1:05. I said Im sitting here in the car what are we going to do. She says okay come on in and shell take care of you. I come in and the clerk was coming back from talking with the stylist and they apparently decide to send me on my way. The clerk tells me the stylist is gone and can she make me another appt. I told her no I live in San Diego. The 2 things that upset me are the lack of an apology and the fact that the stylist never came out and asked the clerk if I had shown up. Such a lack of professionalism. If you do go here be on your toes because no one is going to be watching out for you
I came here to get my hair colored and a cut, I had an appointment at 1:00, I sat in the lobby for about 45 minutes before they helped me. I sat in the chair and I started telling her how I wanted my hair to be, she applied the color and my head started burning, So I told her and she kept saying this was really good stuff thats why its burning its working really well she said. I waited about 5 minutes and I finally couldnt take the pain no more I asked her to rinse it off and she kept saying its normal and if I take it off I wont get the full effect and that she would have to recharge me again for it. She finally rinsed it off and my hair was green and my scalp was bright red. I ended up going to urgent care and she gave me medicated shampoo to apply to my hair and some antibiotics. Its been almost a week and it still hurts. Dont trust this place.
Worst experience ever, trimmer was so hot that it kinda burnt my skin, the quality of hair cut I expect from 18 8 was not there. I felt the job was done for the sake of doing it. Any local barber would give me a great hair cut then what I got in 18 8.One start just for the master stylist to rescue my hair.
Good prices and good service. Not fives stars due to some of the equipment being clunky and not in the best condition. But you get beer or wine for free if you arrive early for your appointment! Never had a bad experience with any of their stylists.
Poor quality hair cut at outrageous prices,I wouldnt go back
I look forward to going and my looks good. No complaints.
Update: I’ve been here twice - fairly bad haircuts both times. Text below is from my first visit:Clearly a focus on service, but mediocre haircut.A haircut at 18|8 goes like so:1. Enjoy complimentary coffee, beer, water, wine, etc while youre waiting for your stylist2. Change into one of their shirts so you dont get clippings all over yours3. A nice shampoo and head massage4. Mediocre haircut. Nothing special. Not BAD, but not good either. Middle of the road leaning towards bad.5. Another head rinse & hot towel for your face. Its nice unless its already hot out, in which case I would rather have a cool towel. The clippers put off a bit of heat so i probably wouldve rather had a cool towel6. Change back into your shirt7. Pay $39 + a tip for the service you experienced. The whole thing took just over an hour because we had to keep going back and recutting my hair when she couldnt cut it right (e.g. one side was longer than the other, she had to cut it shorter than I wanted because she messed up, couldnt really do a fade, etc). My hair still wasnt exactly how I wanted when I left, but I had stayed long enough. So the haircut, at least mine (your experience may vary), was not worth $40. But the experience of the whole thing is probably worth about that. They also include a complimentary touch up so you can get your neck and around your ears cleaned up in between haircuts, which is nice.I probably wont be going back but overall it was a good experience. I rated three stars, not four, because although the service is excellent, its really the haircut that you remember. After all, I am reminded of my hair at least five times a day in the mirror, while I am only pampered at the salon (its a salon, not a barbershop).
A little pricey but I got a great haircut
Comfortable and friendly. Also two shampoos! Once when you enter and once when you leave.
Love this place. Always a great experience.
They did a great job with my boys
Its cool that places like this try to be hip and have an empty keg so they are actually lame.
Fast service.
