I own a 2004 Hyundai Accent - this was the first year my registration came with STAR station requirement. Before getting smog checked, I changed my oil and used a $9.00 emissions system cleaner. I chose JN Smog & Auto Care because it was close to my home and had very good reviews. And voila! I had an 8am appointment; the process took all of 20 minutes; and my car passed! Thank you Thank you Thank you! I admit that this high rated review is mostly because I got the result I wanted - but still, JN Smog was professional and more importantly LOCALLY OWNED and OPERATED. I called ahead to set an appointment for a smog check. I arrived on time and within 5 minutes my car was hooked up to their testing equipment. I was in/out within 30 minutes. Akram was the individual who greeted me, performed the test, and processed the paperwork. He was very professional and courteous.

Quick easy and friendly staff

Ive been going to JN smog for the 6 years they always get me in and out fast and at a good price, I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Honest, ethical, trustworthy, efficient & flexible.My wifes car was suffering from a rough idle which my regular mechanic across the parking lot (Al @ The AutoShop) suspected was due to one or more vacuum leaks. However, he didnt have the equipment for a thorough diagnosis of this condition and recommended Akrm @ Test Only Smog who could perform a smoke test which would reveal the leak(s).I made the appointment with Akrm for a few days later. However, the morning of the appointment, I had to take my wife to the doctor, so I called Akrm to reschedule and he said I could bring it in later that same day which was convenient. When I finally got the car to him, sure enough Akrm found a leaking lower intake manifold gasket and was able to obtain & install the part quickly.When I arrived to pay and pick it up, he asked me if I wanted to take it for a spin before paying to be sure it was resolved to my satisfaction which was pretty cool of him to offer. I did so and the car was obviously fixed. First, it no longer suffered from the rough idle which had been especially noticeable when coming to a stop and the car would surge. Second, it now idled at a lower about 750 RPM rather than 1,000 RPM it had been idling at. Finally, the exhaust no longer smelled rich as it had before the repair.While I was waiting my turn to retrieve my wifes car, I observed an interaction with another customer who was pleased with the results of the smog test they received at a price which sounded quite reasonable. Akrm notified the customer that although his car did pass this time, it did so just barely and advised him proactively that he would likely need to make some repairs to the emissions system the next time its due. I felt that was very thoughtful as most other places probably wouldnt bother mention it.

They are horrible. Brought my moms VW beetle in there to get it somged and they didnt even test it because they were scared that the car was going to blow up and ruin their equipment because of a unnormal sound. Dealership said it was normal and he still fought it. He even had the nerve to go over to THE AUTOSHOP across the way and tell thee main mechanic that the noise was not normal. told us not to drive it again and he aways found something wrong with all the cars i brought in before.
