If you are going to treat male and female customers differently, at least be subtle about it. The man in front of me quickly had his request processed and was given his vehicle. When I approached the counter, I was immediately asked if I wanted to add on multiple things to my package. Please be consistent with your sales tactics so that it doesnt give the wrong impression. Also, I was not offered an EZ Pass for toll roads.The three stars are for the car and the other attendants.
I cannot say enough about what a great experience this was. After getting off the shuttle we walked into the rental place and there were several people in line in front of us. There were 3-4 people working the counter and the line disappeared in what seemed to be 2 minutes. Jasmine took care of me and she was great - really pleasant, so fast, gave me all my options in detail and got me into my car in minutes. The guys outside getting the cars for people were so nice and super fast - even offered us a water! The entire staff gives Alamo a great name.
Fast service! Great pricing! Great staff! Check in process was quick and easy. Dropping off was even better, met by an employee who checked me in quickly and was extremely helpful and pleasant! Went inside to use the restroom and herd, bus is here, dont miss it!, from the employees. I made the bus!
Honestly, a pretty great experience. I got my rental at an extremely low price, very nice 2018 Toyota Camry and it was freshly cleaned and washed. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the tags were expired since March. Thankfully I was not pulled over however the process was easy fast and affordable.
Overall good service. Quick pick up/drop off from to the airport from the car rental lot. Courteous and engaged employees. Did not get the upgrade I signed up for on the reservation page. The car smelled like smoke and the tires had very little thread. Otherwise excellent experience.

This location is very professional, quick, and easy to use. Picking the car up was quick and dropping it off was super easy. Even though they dont open until 0430, you can drop the car off and get a ride to the airport at 0400. They are friendly and wont hassle you. This includes the Enterprise half of the business.
A Dodge Journey is an SUV I suppose, but totally looked like a minivan (aka soccer mom).I didnt like the vehicle but had no other choices. Wishing there was more selection. I had over 2000 miles to drive and Alamo was very helpful, must wasnt happy from the start.They had the best price but sure wish there was a reward system. Without one, loyalty isnt an option.When I returned the car I got charged nearly 4000 instead of 900. Luckily my card company flagged it as fraud. In the end, someone got it right. Nice people to work with

I was charged and told $528 on pick up. $400 refundable when dropped off. So $928 when I dropped it off after I took 1 extra day I was told $874 total. Today 3 days later I got charged 928.16 plus 1,169.71. Idk how you can have it in writing and on recorded conversation and do people that way. I will never choose Alamo again and I will be telling everyone about this experience

Reserved car well in advance in January for trip last week. After a few minutes into the trip the sensor for low tire pressure came on but given that we were already running behind to make a tee time I stopped at a gas station to add air. On the return trip the pressure had dropped to 7! The resort added air and we made trip back safely but when I dropped car off they did not seem overly concerned or sincere about apology of the issue that had happened and were asking me more about other small issues on car that were previously there. I rented a luxury vehicle for a reason and this was just an overall bad experience. We drove to pinehurst and back and I prepaid for gas and still had to stop at a gas station.
Classic bait and switch operation!I reserved an “economy” car a few days in advance. When I arrived, the salesman confidently announced within a few steps of a run-down looking Dodge Caravan (I had actually been thinking - “thank God that’s not my car...” ) that “All I have is a minivan for you.” I asked what other options there were to which he replied, “None,” his back already turned as he walked off.I’ve named the van Harvest Moon in honor of the evening we are about to share, and we are making the best of it together. It’s among the worst rental cars I have ever had, but I guess s*** happens.Of note, also certainly not clean on the inside. Lots of gunk and dirt.I’m surprised how highly reviewed this place is. Either my experience was atypical, or I would think more likely many of these reviews are not genuine.If given the option, I will avoid this particular agency in the future.
I had a quote that was given to me when I made the arrangements was about 279$ when I picked up the car the total was 800$ why then she said oh if you have tickets go fly out it’ll go down I said of course showed her my tickets. Then it goes down 490$ why like omg I was going to put the 279 on a credit card. But she still charged me 490$ I had no other choice but to pay how els was I going to go see family. I was hoping for the amount I was quoted I was going to pay but no. The k my good thing about the vehicle I got was it was a gas savor I don’t think I’ll ever use Alamo again. I’ll just stay with enterprise next time.

Check in was efficient. We had to wait for a car to be ready as apparently there has been a rental car shortage. The manager outside worked very hard to supply the rentals to the line of people. We got our car direct from the car wash.

Customer service was good and I liked that they had multiple people working the counter when we arrived off of the shuttle. Unfortunately, the car we received was a non-smoking vehicle yet smelled horribly of smoke and marijuana. There were even two non-smoking stickers letting all drivers know it was a non smoking vehicle. We could tell they tried to mask the smell with a fragrance. We didnt realize it was smoke and weed until we pulled up to the gal letting us out. Since we were in a rush and needed to get on our way, I didnt want to have to go back and exchange vehicles. I informed the gal that looked over our stuff that the vehicle smelled like smoke and I asked her to put a note on our account because I didnt want to be responsible for it. She even said, wow, I can smell it through my mask, I have made note of it. The next morning when we went into the car, the weed smell was incredibly strong. I believe the fragrance they tried to mask it with was gone so every time we got in the car, all we could smell the weed. Disgusting. Super disappointed that they would give us a car with trying to mask the smell of the marijuana. Unfortunately, we were on such a time crunch our whole trip (we were also 2.5 hours away) we couldnt exchange it out.

The Alamo team at the Raleigh -Durham Airport (RDU) were very nice and professional. The car I received was clean and the interior had been wiped down. The sanitizing cloth that was left for me was a nice touch.
Alamo (RDU) was wonderful to work with. The price was a little steep but the staff was wonderful...friendly, yet professional. When I needed to extend my rental and needed to use two different payment methods, he worked with me on that and made it happen. Returning the car was a breeze and the young lady who waited on me walked me outside to show me where to catch the shuttle to the airport, she did not just point! I was in Raleigh for 10 days on a work trip. I decided last minute to get a rental car vs. taking an Uber everywhere. The process was so quick and easy! I was in and out within 10-15 minutes. I can’t remember the name of the woman who helped me, but she was amazing! I requested an intermediate SUV. When walking out to select a vehicle there was only one available and there was some slight damage to it. Instead of getting me into that car, she upgraded me into something a little more fun to make a work trip a little more exciting. She got me into a Jeep Wrangler and it honestly set of the rest of my trip in the right direction. I really appreciated the customer service and friendliness, especially in a time where everyone is so on edge. I loved the Jeep so much, I bought it when I got home! Thank y’all for such a great experience! I’ll be renting again from y’all.

Second time That I rent a car with them not going anywhere anymore this time they make my trip possible cause literary. I try to rent with other company and they where unable to explain all the things you are going to need went you are planning to rent a car from them so I book online and went I got to the office I was unable to get a car. So went online and book a car with Alamo without any problem or asking for more stuff went I get there a hour later everything was ready. They gave me a brand new car for my trip with only two miles is was comfortable and easy the employee where really good and are there to help you get the car that is going to fit your needs.

We rented from RDU airport. Very quick and easy process. A quick shuttle to the rental area. They got us all set up and walked us over to our car and even gave it a quick wash when we chose the one we wanted. Returning it was even easier. People there were quick and got us on our way within minutes. The shuttle was waiting and took us back in under 5 minutes. Definitely would rent from Alamo again.
FYI. If youre a local and you reserve a car online for Alamo rental car, when you get to the RDU airport location you must have the payment plus $300 on a credit card. I didnt see this in the documentation, it would have been nice to know this up front. (TIME ENERGY WASTED) the payment has to be all on one card, you cant break the payment up, or use a debit card.I reserved a Toyota Highlander from the Turo app instead.
In the past I have received excellent customer service and very competitive pricing from Alamo Rent A Car. Unfortunately, my recent experience was just the opposite.I rented a SUV for 13 days at a great rate. Halfway through my trip, I discovered I needed one extra day for the rental. I called the customer service line to request the extra day. The rep informed me that the charge for one additional day would be $200 (FOR ONE DAY).I calmly and respectfully explained to the rep that my daily rate for the rental was originally $29.02 (plus fees) and asked WHY the additional day was so much more expensive. She told me it was because the additional day took me into a weekly rental rate rather than a daily rate. I asked her WHY in the world a weekly rental rate was 4x more expensive than a daily rate--when in the past, a weekly rate is always LESS expensive than the daily rate. She could not answer the question, was rude to me about it, and told me that she would have a manager call me back.No one ever called me back.I had to call the CS line AGAIN in order to complete the rental extension. The next rep (James) was just as unknowledgeable about the weird and nonsensical rate difference but assured me that he would have someone else call me back to explain.No one ever called back--again.I was charged the OUTRAGEOUS extra $200 for the extra day, and STILL have no clue why. I suspect there is a MAJOR flaw in Alamos pricing system, and it would seem that no one in management is interested enough to make the necessary adjustments---perhaps because they are making a ton of money off of system mistake.

The absolute worst car rental location. Don’t rent here! Each employee tells you something different and the website doesn’t clarify their “policies”. Very idiotic, rude, and not helpful at all employees. Will be complaining to corporate as well. Save yourself a headache and go to hertz or budget.
All pretty good today at RDU. They didnt have any cars lined up, which seemed strange. Gave me the option of waiting for the full size I reserved or taking a minivan, the only vehicle ready to go. The minivan worked for me, so no problem.

I wish I could remember the name of the agent that helped me so he can get the recognition he deserves (name started with an L and worked for Enterprise but was cross covering the Alamo/National desk at midnight on May 23rd), because his customer service was outstanding. Id had a long cross-country flight to attend my grandmothers funeral and he made the rental process as painless as possible. Best rental experience Ive had thus far.
Superior experience with Alamo car rental! Both the pickup and drop off were easy and quick. Rented a SUV in NC and dropped in Vegas without the drop fee which another company had demanded. The vehicle was spotless and drove very well fully packed. I highly recommend Alamo and will return for my car rentals. Good service, reasonably priced.
Had a reservation for a subcompact car. I saw a VW bug convertible and asked if I could get that...kind if joking, so when the guy said sure and tossed me the keys I was a bit shocked. It came out of their specialty car section so it was a significant upgrade without having to pay anything extra. Even though it was cold, that top stayed down...heat was on full blast...but the top was down!

Alamo was amazing. First time renting a car from fort Myers to Raleigh. They were excellent in allowing me to reserve, modify, and finally book my trip. Will always pick Alamo first for my rental car needs. Extremely good prices as well! Even waived my young renters fee when I was chatting to the agent and told him I was in college. Highly recommend as someone who doesn’t write a lot of internet reviews.
RENTER BEWARE!!! I have rented cars all over the world and recently returned a car to this facility that gave no indication of damage. Yet weeks later I received a letter claiming damage with no proof. After no response to emails another letter with “proof” arrived in the mail. The pictures are very low quality but are from under the car! I can tell you for certain this was not done on my watch, but since I did not climb under my car to take photos I have no proof. I suspect that the damage was their prior to my rental and missed in previous inspections or the damage was done on sight by an employee who didn’t own up to their mistake.UPDATE: After some back and forth with a third party trying to get us to give payment, Alamo Corporate stepped in and waived the claims against us.
Booked on-line and picked up a Ford Fusion at Raleigh Airport. Reps were very professional, friendly and all went very smoothly and easy. Shuttles were available and efficient. Highly recommend them.
The rental process with Alamo was quick and easy. The staff at check in and return were friendly. My small SUV rented was clean and small ... reminded me of a Mini Cooper size. For the size I felt it was way over priced. Next time itll be an Uber for me.
Service when getting my rental was great. Got upgraded to a larger vehicle as well. BUT the vehicle I drove had something wrong with it. I had the vehicle from 12pm till 3pm the following day; so 27 hours total and 3x while driving on the interstate at 60-70 MPH if I hit a bump on the road the entire vehicle shook. First time it happened I thought I had a flat tire but I didnt. Only way to make it stop was to pull off on the side of the road and come to a complete stop. When I returned the vehicle I let the gentleman know about it and nothing was done about it. He made it sound like it might be the front axle. But it didnt seem to be an issue for him nor did he seem to care. This is a very dangerous issue and needs to be addressed. Vehicles should not be sent out on the road that have this issue.Thank you!
I was happy to rent from Alamo and best to prepay for my rental. What hit me hard was the fact that when I arrived at rental office, I was charged a addittional deposit. On the website it does not say nor indicate that a deposit will be required when picking up the vehicle. That was very disappointing 😕. Will I rent again. Im not sure. That information needs to be shared and not be a surprise when a customer attempts to pick up the vehicle.
Overall, a very positive experience. Picking up the vehicle and dropping off the vehicle was quite simple. No unexpected or unpleasant surprises/charges.

I reserved my rental online through Expedia and had purchased the insurance for the vehicle as well. When I get to the counter at the rental agency the worker tells me that I had not purchased insurance and that I am recommending purchasing it, this is even after I told her I already paid for it and have my proof of purchase. Also we had a return flight and had called twice to the location to verify if we needed to bring a credit card or if we could just use our bank card without an outrageous deposit. She then again proceeded to tell me that they are requiring everyone to now pay a deposit. I told her I called and it states you don’t have to pay a deposit with a return flight. She didn’t care and I needed the vehicle,so I paid. Let me just say that they are not very truthful with their own statements. They didn’t even walk me to the vehicle,I walked over to where they were and picked out my own because all the keys were inside the vehicles. The truck was not clean but arguing about the vehicles wasn’t obviously going to get me anywhere.
Check in was quick, however I was told to go a kiosk that wasnt there. Then I had to find someone to get me a car and it took another 15 minutes if waiting before a vehicle was brought out for me. Very slow process. Returning the vehicle was extremely quick and easy. Very efficient return procedure.
I took my daughter-in-law and grandchildren on a trip from Montana to North Carolina to visit her family our flight came in late and even though we were exhausted from traveling when we got to Alamo the most wonderful lady helped us with our vehicle her name was Shanyia.. she went above and beyond to help me with getting the car getting all the luggage and everybody put in she even let my granddaughter pick the color of the minivan..All of them please behind the desk that night at Alamo were very professional very kind and friendly and because of that I will use Alamo for every trip I take!!Thank you Shanyia for making the start of our vacation an amazing one!!
Customer service was EXCELLENT! An agent stopped what he was doing to get me into my car as there was another lady in front of me. Everyone was super polite and serviced with a smile and positive words (noting the weather wasnt great that day, they were all cheerful including the person at the exit!). We have used this company twice, gotten to NC very late at night and the process has been smooth. No issues of any kind, the down payment has always come back on time. Never have they taken our money just because. Their prices have been fair to us. Prices have not changed when I arrive, rates are the same as shown online. I have had a great experience with Alamo. They take our Debit card and we always get to choose our vehicle. Thank you for your great service.

Alamo very kindly helped us with our reservation when we were delayed 10 hours on our arrival into Raleigh-Durham. A very big pat on the back to the agent who assisted us early in the morning on October 12; I think his name was Jonathon. He was kind, patient and understanding. Our rental car was in excellent condition, and the return to Atlanta also went smoothly.
If I could give a zero I would!! I booked the car through enterprise but Alamo handled it. It took 45 mins to pick the car up! I returned the car over 24 hours ago, full tank, no damage( I took pictures just in case) and I have not received my receipt nor have they released the hold from my credit card! I’ve called customer service but they can’t help! I’ve tried to call the actual location but no one has answered or returned my call! I am VERY DISATISFIED AND HIGHLY ANNOYED!!
They gave us a dodge caravan with transmission issues, we drove 2 hours to the next airport to request a replacement vehicle. The clerk at Wilmington airport refused to replace our van, knowing it wouldnt change gear. I had to drive 15 minutes to another location. The new location gave us another van with accidental damages and low fuel, at the end of our trip we had to explain about the damages and the fuel level. A week later I was charged $35 for unknown reasons, I am so fed up and mad that I wont even stress over the $35. I dont recommend Alamo to anyone. They dont maintaining their cars mechanically. Easy to just pick a car but, is it safe? Note: to Alamo enter accidents in a data base and share it with your people the same day.
I come here every time Im in Raleigh because of the people that work there. They are kind and respectful every time. Prices are fair too. Makes a big difference to have people who care about doing a good job. Theyre doing something right.
My husband and I rented a car from Alamo for seven days over the Labor Day holiday at PHX. We had originally rented a car from Budget and we were waiting for them to find us a Kia Optima. I have fibromyalgia and a Kia Optima is the most comfortable rental car offered by the major rental car companies. I know that a specific car cannot be guaranteed but Budget had us waiting around for over an hour with no updates and mass confusion at their Phoenix Sky Harbor location rental desk. I decided to ask at other rental car Kiosks if they had a Kia optima available. When I got to Alamo I met Herman who offers me a Kia optima immediately for the same price as budget. Herman was such a lifesaver that day. I was so worried that I would have to settle for a car that I was uncomfortable with for the entire trip but Herman made it happen ASAP. We immediately went downstairs and picked up our Kia optima. Thank you Herman and Alamo for looking out for me and making sure I was comfortable during my trip. I will only rent from Alamo from now on.
The people working at the check in desk were great! Not even 10 minutes after I left the location I got a low tire pressure warning on the car and had to stop to fix the situation. I had one tire with 25 PSI and one with 54 PSI. That is unacceptable. That becomes a safety issue and apparently the tire pressure had not been checked recently. I had a horrible time getting thru to someone who could help me in customer service. Then when I dropped the vehicle off at the end the guy at the desk argued with me saying i was scheduled to return my vehicle to a different location. Though they checked my return flight at checkin to see i was returning it to the same place AND it said in my receipt.
Our flight arrived late and we werent able to pick up our vehicle until after 1 AM. The Alamo shuttle met us at the terminal and the clerks were efficient, friendly, and helpful. We were in our vehicle in less than 5 minutes. The vehicle was absolutely in like-new condition. When we returned the vehicle at 4 AM, the service was equally fantastic and we were on our way to the terminal in the shuttle in less than 5 minutes. This, coupled with a terrific rental rate, is the reason we prefer Alamo for our vehicle rental needs.
Alamo absolutely crushed it this reservation. Very fast check in. Zero wait for shuttle bus from airport to rental car and vice versa. Everything smooth and fast. Not understaffed at all. Definitely ideal for business travelers on tight time constraints.
We booked through a third-party vendor but Alamo treated us right! The price was great, the car we had was clean and in great condition too. Unlike some other companies, the fees we were supposed to be charged were just that; there were no hidden additional charges.

I usually have a great experience at Raleigh RDU Alamo but not this time. When I got there I had to wait to get the car and when I got a mile from the rental center a sensor in the dash went off as I stopped at a stop sign indicating I had a front car accident and that I had hit something and the sensor was not working. This continued every time I started the car after five minutes. I had to get to my destination, mother hospitalized and was already late due to the wait in the first place. When I called the service number they said I could be compensated for it at customer service upon return of the car. No one was at customer service. Three separate vans to take people to the terminal came and went and multiple people walked by not ever acknowledging me and ever trying to help when I was obviously needing help standing at a counter at customer service. The car was dirty, I also had to put air in the tires a few days into the rental and as it was a trip to care for a sick parent and I rented to avoid all of this I am very unhappy with their service and feel very disrespected. I also do not like the weekly instead of daily charge. paying for days you do not even use the car. not something I appreciate.I was truly unhappy this trip with Alamo and I hope they read this and contact me and do something to make good.

Despite using a regular credit card, a hold of 300.00 was placed on it, on top of my cost for the rental. It isn’t needed and it just provided me a less fun experience, basically holding hostage a big chunk of my money and cash flow. They didn’t tell me of this type of hold until I was at the counter, moments before I was to leave on my trip. I thought it was thoughtless and poor customer service.
Awful Customer Service. I Have been trying to get a hold of someone in the RDU office for 3 days now to extend my rental and drop off at another location. Now I will now have to drive 3 hours each way on Memorial Day Weekend to return the car because no one will call me back. I have left several messages at the local office and have spoken to all sorts of people at the 844 number. Will not be renting from these folks again.
After some not so great experiences with other car rental agencies, I decided to try Alamo. I travel at least once every ninety days, sometimes more. I always use Alamo and have been so for the past two years. They are easy to book online, and its a breeze to change your reservation once made. If you have an issue you cant handle online, their customer service reps are super helpful, professional and knowledgeable. Picking up your rental is a breeze and returning your rental is even easier. The desk staff are very nice and the guys that work outside bring your car to you and even help you with your luggage. If you sign up as a member, the send you free upgrade offers routinely, which is nice if you travel a lot.I have absolutely no complaints with Alamo. Theyve got my business going forward, no questions asked.
Alamo was so easy to use. They made my first experience renting a car great! I love their happy driver deal. The cars are quality and very clean. I will definitely be using Alamo again when renting a car in the future!
Rental was without any hassle whatsoever. We were done in less than 2 minutes. We were shown an option of cars, selected one and were on our way. Check in at 3:30 AM was equally fast and the bus trip to the terminal went quickly. We feared that we would have to wait at that hour to check in, but it went so quickly that we were over 2 hours early for the flight. Only thing is that the inside of the windshield should be checked frequently, because it was oily and that made night driving a bit off. Thanks again for a good experience.
Mohammed at the RDU Alamo airport went above and beyond to be helpful. He was attentive, empathetic, and eager to please. I will use Alamo again, and he is a big reason for that. Not sure if you train your employees to be so helpful and empathetic. It may come naturally to him. Either way, well done!!!
Great service. Pleasant attitudes. Got a small SUV for the price of a full size. Didnt expect that, but it made my entire vacation driving experience fun.
I was greeted at the door. Check in went smoothly. Then I was escorted out to the car! What service. Placed my bag in the trunk and made sure I didnt have any questions. At the time of return, they took bags out of the trunk and couldnt have been nicer. Great service, great car, great company! The Raleigh Durham team is awesome!
Service was quick not so much friendly welcoming,but professional. Head attendant looked quickly for the class of car we reserved and swiftly moved to an upgrade with no charge. Just a blessing

I use Alamo every other week before this coronavirus it would of been a five star. Because of corona they are now making you pay a deposit when your return flight use to be your deposit
Got a great deal on a really good car - Check in took all of 5 minutes and I was just a regular customer. The shuttle to the facility arrived promptly, the driver was courteous and the gentleman at the counter was efficient and not pushy . Even returning the car was a good customer service experience- the representative expressed concern to ensure I was completely satisfied with my rental, and checked me in quickly without delays. I will definitely look at Alamo first the next time I need to rent a car.
