I told him I would like to grow it out and he took it from there. I looked like a crazy person when I arrived and now my beard looks like a ZZ top starter kit, I love it. great guy to talk to as well, He knows a lot about RocknRoll music. I have been a customer for 7 years. It is easy to see why Todd has a deeply loyal following. He gives a precision haircut, always right the first time, he is entertaining, he is a very kind and generous human being and he truly treats his customers as his friends. I consider him to be a friend, and I would do anything for him. He goes above and beyond for anyone in need, and I have seen him leave a customer getting a cut to rush out to the parking lot and help his next customer who is elderly, safely into his shop!The world has become full of entitled, obsequious brats who are habitually late for appointments or worse, “No shows.” They have unrealistic expectations and they gratify themselves by giving low reviews on line in retaliation for being told the truth and being held accountable.Keep up the great work Todd! Ive been going to Handsome Floyds for about 5+ years. Todd is fantastic. Best barber shop in Raleigh - Good conversation and high quality hair cut - Hes an old school professional. Never disappointed.Looking at the reviews the one thing I would say is that you are not getting a walk in hair cut here, and if someone cancels, theres probably a long line of regulars ahead of you. Most of the regulars book their next appointment before they leave and its a single chair establishment. Hes booked up for a reason.If you need a haircut now go to an easy cuts or some place with availability, and while you are there call Handsome Floyds to book your next hair cut 6-8 weeks out.

This was my first visit and I have to say, it was a great experience. From the moment you walk in you feel right at home - Greeted by name (!), offered coffee or water, etc. This is a very comfortable environment! Then again, presentation only goes so far. Fortunately, the skills were just as impressive! Ashley is simply awesome and she is now officially in charge of my hair. Great personality and just as fabulous with a pair of scissors. I honestly feel like I paid far too little for the combination of cut and service (the hot towel at the end was a nice cap on my visit). If you want a great cut in a comfortable place with some truly genuine people, you have to give these folks a try. I know I will be back!

I love Handsome Floyds! The staff is unbelievably nice. Everyone who has ever cut my hair there has always done a great job, (and I practically have clown hair so its hard to cut). They are very hospitable and always offer you beverages and mints and hot towels. Theres no sports channels (or any TVs) blasting in your face which I really appreciate. The décor of the place is awesome, not to mention Floyd is so Handsome!!! Its a great place to get your haircut, and anyone who reviews it differently has technically never been there. I have been going to Handsome Floyds now for five years and have always received an excellent cut and service. Todd is great to chat with and did an incredible job with decorating and laying out the shop. They carry excellent hair care products at reasonable prices. I have been going to Handsome Floyds since I moved from New York over a year ago. I tried 5 or 6 different places in Raleigh before a co-worker told me about this place. It is a very clean environment with a friendly staff that always welcomes you and offers a drink when you walk in. I always go to the owner Todd, both he and I are from Buffalo so its great to talk sports with him. I recommend all of my friends and co-workers to them as well. They take their time to cut your hair, not like your typical walk in shop which is rushing you out the door so they can get to the next person, so I always call a few days ahead to make an appointment. Great selection of products - I use the soap, shampoo, gel, and shave cream they sell (very reasonably priced). Best place in town for a guy to get a haircut.

Hands down the best place for a guy to get a haircut (and gals too!) in the RTP area. Floyds is the type of place you dont just go for a haircut, you go for the experience. No detail goes unnoticed. For example, Im always offered a bottle of water and/or coffee, and I love the HOT towel and mint after a great cut and lively conversation. Theyve got a happy customer here and I plan to stick around a long time.IMPORTANT! - This is not a walk-in and wait type of place. Make an appointment and show up on time. You will find your barber waiting with an open chair for you. Miss an appointment or two and you may be asked to not come back. Your time is valuable and so is theirs. Have some respect!

Handsome Floyds is the absolute best place for a haircut in a truly enjoyable atmosphere. Ive been going there for I dont know how many years now, and would never think about going anywhere else. I have been growing a beard for about 5 months and only trimmed it once. Family and friends started to say it was out of control so I started looking for a shop that specialized in beards. After looking at some of the local shops that did beards I found that all of them used clippers rather than scissors. I found Handsome Floyds and read the reviews about how they were old school style barbershop, so I booked an appointment. Vanessa is an excellent stylist and very knowledgeable about beards. She knew exactly the look I was going for and made it happen. This is the only place I will go from now on. Thanks for a great experience.

This has to be the nicest upscale non-franchise barber shop in Raleigh with actually experienced staff not somebody who just got out of school. Cuts are $25 for adults and $20 for kids and $5 less if you get the Smooth Floyd (Buzz Cut). I tried a couple of those franchise places because I got a coupon, and guess what, I got a cheap haircut and it looked like it. Good thing it grows back. My suggestion is to call for an appointment because they are always busy. If you actually care about how your hair looks, this is the place.

One of my bigger apprehensions as I left New Jersey to settle in Raleigh was getting a haircut that would ruin the excellent work of my old school Italian barber who was a true professional. His clientele included many who are well-known from the world of entertainment and politics. It had been almost 40 years in his chair and I dreaded having a butchered cut by my next barber.I spent a lot of time studying websites of local barbers and decided to give Handsome Floyd’s a try because it seemed to be a place that was trying to be more than a conventional shop. The good news is that it worked. After several appointments I have concluded that I am getting a better haircut than which I had had!For those considering a new shop I highly recommend Handsome Floyd’s. Based on my experience, I assure you that your trust will be rewarded. However, please don’t take my appointment time!

I’ve been bringing my son to Handsome Floyds for about 5 years. He consistently gets a nice cut. The owner and staff are friendly and know their stuff. We always make an appointment (I don’t suggest just walking in as they are often booked full) but we never feel rushed when we are there. I love this place!

Everyone was really nice from start to finish. The hair cut was pretty good. Although we had to go back over a couple spots. One thing is they are NOT A BARBER. They say better than a barber shop but they cant do the things barbers can do. No one in there could. i like a straight razor shave and clean up. It doesnt make sense to say you are better than a barber when there is no barbers!

As a new-comer to the Triangle after over 20 years in Chicago, I had absolutely no clue where to get a good haircut in the area. My uncle and resident of Raleigh for over 30 years told me ‘...there’s only one place to go and that’s Handsome Floyd’s.’ I’ve never looked anywhere else since my first visit. Todd and Vanessa know their trade well and like most well-established salons in the area, you need to have a reservation in advance to get a seat at this establishment. If you’re looking for a walk-in, you need to go to Supercuts.Handsome Floyd’s is very reasonably priced and a comfortable atmosphere to talk NHL hockey with Todd or Bullmastiffs with Vanessa! ; ) Best in the biz.

I love going with my husband to this place, always fresh coffee, great music, excellent decor and its the best hair cut he has ever had. Dont bother walking in, they stay busy and you should call for an apt. My hubby has Floyd do his hair.

Tried to get in for my sons hair cut. Called multiple times and left messages with no return. Decided to try and walk-in as it was my last option. As soon as we walked in, the women stubbed her nose at me and told me that they didnt take walk ins, they always return calls and to just to a kids salon instead. Clearly she didnt want to deal with a childs hair cut. With an attitude like that I wont be returning.

I cant recommend Handsome Floyds enough. Todd, the owner, has been cutting my hair for several years now, and Im a customer for life. As a guy, I got tired of paying too much for a decent cut at a hair salon. And traditional barbershops, while inexpensive, were disappointing at best. Handsome Floyds walks the line between salon and barbershop, where a man can get a high end hair cut at a reasonable price.

Very nice and clean environment. They were able to fit me ( a lady w very short hair- by request ) in on a Saturday! After being in a terrible head on collision and unable to make my norm hair stylist appt almost 2 hrs away (back home). Thank you! Although being completely honest Id like to revisit and possibly get Todd the owner as a stylist- hes booked a ways out Im told but willing to wait after seeing his work while there!!!

After going to those hair cutting chains for years, I finally tried a Barbershop. I have been going to Handsome Floyds for about a year now and have had a great experience each time. If you are like I was and tired of rolling the dice in hopes of a good haircut, give them a call for an appointment. You won’t be sorry.

Dont even deserve the one star. Dont waste your time. Called 3 days in advance to make an appointment only to have it canceled 5 hours early the day of. And I quote Weve had a problem with new clients not showing up so weve cancelled your appointment to get a regular customer in when I called the first time he simply could have asked for me to call the day of to confirm. And problem avoided. I work nights so I simply missed his call yet called back as soon as I woke to confirm. A note to new customers about this will save you hassle in the future.I should also note that Floyd took the time out of his day to call me back And harass me about this review. Trying to get me to edit it. Haha what a joke.The purpose of this is not to hurt business but simply to state my review and experience.

Decent haircut but I cant wait a week and a half to pay for a $30 haircut. Needs to expand if their so busy and if theyre charging twice as much as any other shop youd think they could afford to a hire more barbers or a larger shop

They may cut good hair but they dont answer the phone. You need to leave a message and they call you back. The website said walk-ins welcome so when I called and no one picked up I walked in (after driving 20 minutes). I was told by the owner they are filled up today. Just thought other poor saps like me should know. If this does not bother you then fine. I never write these things but this was a bit out of line for me.

This is not a traditional barber shop it is a cozy hair salon with a mediocre stylist, at least the one I got! I will try this salon again with a different stylist. FYI, information on google reviews does not necessarily reflect the real name of the person and we have the right to be anonymous if we wanted to!! So dont be defensive and obnoxious just because the reviewer gave you a one or a two star, instead take it constructively, after all we are the paying customer and our opinion matter more than yours.

When I learned about the most recent wave of malicious attack reviews I almost couldnt believe it. Ive been going to Handsome Floyds every 4 weeks for over 2 years and have always had a great haircut and a good experience. Just remember that not everything you see on the web is true. Google needs to put a stop to fake reviews and some people need to get a life.

Solid stylists, but make no mistake about it this is not a BARBERSHOP. Majority of the girls that work there are former Stylists from Mitchells Hair Salon (about a mile down the road). The girls cant truly line you up with a razor or clippers like a real barber could do, not to mention they dont REALLY do straight razor neck shaves, nor do they take a straight razor to your face/side burns.Now the two times I have been I have received decent haircuts and the girls are very nice and friendly, but I received a stylist type of cut, not a barbershop type of cut. If you want a real haircut from a barber, then this place just isnt for you, but if you want a (+ $30.00) stylist haircut, then this is your place.In my opinion, its just too expensive and its definitely NOT a BARBERSHOP. They should name it (Handsome Floyds Stylist Haircuts for Men), only say that because calling this place a Barbershop is basically false advertisement.

Unfortunately, I experienced multiple issues including poor quality, different barber/stylist every time, no appointments/walk-ins only, long wait times, and inconsistent pricing (e.g. Super Cuts offers a three-tiered pricing model that adds frills like a shampoo and blow dry; Gemelli charged $45 for a 15 minute haircut).I found Handsome Floyd’s through some online research and decided to give them a try. I’ve been going there ever since (for the past 8 years) and consistently receive the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten in my life. I love the fact that they take appointments and stick to them. I am new to Raleigh .. and I really like Floyds .. Elise did a great job .. and its a nice atmosphere .. and it is affordable .. we get our dog trimmed down the street and it costs us $65 every six weeks .. that puts my haircut costs into perspective for me at least .

Love this place, if you can get a slot! This place is amazing for haircuts. Best haircuts ever here. Owner cuts my hair flawlessly every time. Uses quality products. Atmosphere is great too. Not boring like supercuts or SportsClips (yes SportsClips is in fact boring after the third visit). Haircut for a man with shampoo will run $25 before tip but honestly its marginally more than SportsClips. It is completely worth the cost differential.

I feel compelled to write a review about Handsome Floyds. I am shocked by these recent negative attacks and can clearly note they are some sort of coordinated attack/scheme by a few people for some reason or other who are out to hurt this business.I have been going to Handsome Floyds for 6 years almost every three weeks; that is over a 100 haircuts. I have observed the owners interactions with new clients, walk-ins and regulars. ALL are greeted with a pleasant welcome. The shop runs with a quiet effiency and positive demeanor. The shop is tastefully decorated and conveys an upscale feel. Out of courtesy to his clientele the owner is very schedule oriented. I must say not only does Handsome Floyds have a pleasant and relaxing upscale decor....the shop is run consistently, neatly and with a professional decorum. I have noted that many customers are friendly and courteous and like myself are multi-year repeats.I find these categorizations about the shop and the owner to be unfair and in my direct ongoing experience unjustified. This is a small business owned and run by an indivdual that works hard to provide a good service and endear loyalty. This is an enterprise to be supported not demeaned by a few angry people pushing some sort of personal agenda.

Quality cut specifically for men. I went because the regular shops were not great with trimming my beard. Only complaint is that it can be hard to get in because they only have 1-2 chairs. Free coffee, water, beer while you wait.
