Everyone is so great here. Our 2 toddlers were able to get haircuts at the same time so we were in and out with no downtime. One son loved sitting in the airplane while getting his cut. His brother preferred to sit in moms lap. Both appreciated the candy and tv distraction. Prices are a little high but you get a lot for it.

I cant remember her name (light complexion with shorter curly hair), but our hairstylist was fantastic. Our son Forrest loved sitting in the truck and then watching Cars while he got his hair trimmed. He did burst into tears after his overwhelming discomfort of realizing his hair was getting trimmed kicked in, but she helped us soothe him. Overall, great atmosphere and comforting staff, all within a great area that can serve any of your needs before your appointment and after. I believe she said they have been there since 1998 or 99. Over 20 years is my guess.

My son had a great experience last month. But I tried to make an appointment the past few days and their phone is busy and the online booking system no longer works. Is this business still open?

Great little place - very clean and well stocked for the lil ones. Ms Maria was fabulous - gentle, considerate, patient, pleasant. Gave my daughter a really cute pixie cut, just what we were looking for.We’ll be back!

Wonderful place for your childrens haircuts! The staff are very sweet and patient with children. Your child will get to choose which fun chair to sit in (are they a pilot today? Perhaps a race car driver?) and watch their favorite movie!

Ms. Maria took such good care of my little one during his 1st haircut(back in November 2020). She listened to what style I asked for, asked questions to clarify, and gave him a fantastic looking haircut! I am very pleased with the results and would recommend Mrs. Maria for your childs haircut. Were coming back for an appointment at 3:30 today!Edit: My son got another great haircut from Mrs. Maria today! She is so patient and nice to the little kids. I love this place! Our son has sensory issues and they are extremely attentive, patient and kind. The atmosphere is fun and the service is great. We drive almost an hour there and its worth it every time.

My son is on the spectrum, and absolutely loathes people touching his head or hair.While he was inconsolable, the staff didnt make me feel embarrassed, assured me, and even broke out videos, lollipops, and distractions to help mom and dad feel at ease.

Maria did an amazing job with my son’s first haircut. They were running a little behind (I think a lot of people cancelled, but then still came in as walk ins), but Maria treated us with a huge smile, was so friendly, and though I think we were her last appointment of the day, you couldn’t tell that in the quality of her work.

After a really bad experience in cookie cutters, we tried JJ’s and we cannot be more happy. My son cried most of the time but Maria was so nice and professional. She did a great job. We will be back!

JJs Kids Cuts are amazing. I took my one year old boy for a haircut and thought he would be great for the haircut but he was so scared he would not pull his head away from my chest. However they were able to cut his hair while he was pushing in to my chest to feel safe. JJs staff did everything possible to comfort him and make it fun but when he ended up not being happy they were very understanding and encouraging to my son.

Maria has been cutting my grandkids hair since their first cuts. Maria is super patient, nice, and does a great on trend cut. You really don’t need more than that, but the salon also has a little play set, video Game Center, and a collection of books. After the cuts, the boys want to stay and play of course.

Fantastic spot to take your child for their very first hair cut and all other hair cuts. They have a great waiting area inclined for their kid clients in mind, including a slide. The chairs are awesome vehicles that you get to choose from. They have vhs and dvds to choose from or you can bring your own. We love the extremely patient and friendly staff.

We always make an appointment but walk ins are allowed. My sister started taking her son here 15yrs ago and now I take my kids. And the same wonderful ladies still work there. They cut the kids hair how you ask them to. And if you are a mom of a boy with awesome curls, they are great about trimming and making the curls look even better!

We love Ms. Marlie and she has always done a terrific job with my son who has thick long wavy hair and my daughter who has baby fine straight hair. She is so great that we keep coming back even tho I gh my son is now bigger than I.

Went here for my sons first haircut. I regret every part of my decision to bring him in, except for the awesome photo I snapped of him BEFORE he got his hair screwed up. $18 dollars for this....

Everyone you encounter at JJs is so kind and professional. The specialty chairs, kids choice of a movie and the play area while youre waiting is perfectly family friendly.

I love coming here for my sons haircuts. They have a play area and they get to watch a video of their choosing and sit in cool cars and etc. The staff is also super friendly and know how to deal with young kids. Theyre about 30 min from my house but its worth the drive!

Mrs Marley is amazing!! My younger 2 kids loved playing while big sister got a haircut. And everyone gets a lollipop in the end.

Has childrens play equipment (a small jungle gym with a slide and video game consoles) and shaped barber chairs for children (they look like different vehicles). A child can watch videos while getting their hair cut. My son, who dislikes having his hair touched, has gotten his hair cut here for years. Highly recommended.

Visited JJ’s for the first time today and had a wonderful experience. The receptionist was super friendly and Ms. Maria was great with my 1 year old son. Awesome chairs, toys and TV’s to keep little ones occupied. Highly recommend – we will be back! Thank you!

I called to make an appointment and after a good 10 rings finally a lady answered the phone as if I was interrupting there gossip time- ( all you heard was laughter in the back ground) I was asking a few questions being this would be my childs first appointment and I wanted to make it special . But the ladys attitude completely turned me away not to mention chewing food or gum loudly on the phone. Why would I bring my child in this environment !! What ever happened to customer service this day in age. FROM THE LOOKS OF THE TRUE NOT FAKE REVIEWS ON HERE I CAN SEE MANAGEMENT COULD CARE LESS AS WELL.. AMAZING!!!! Since we arrived, staff was friendly. We had an appointment they were already waiting for us.I was afraid about my 2 year old son not staying still, he has (had) long curly hair and he doesnt like no one touching his hair BUT Mrs. Marlie was AWESOME I loved how patient and courteous she was towards him. JJ’s is the BEST place in the triangle to take your kids! The experience from the stylists go so many years back! They truly have a stylist that can fit every child’s needs! Ask for Ms. Shakeshia if you want a fade, though she is great with all hair types too! They are AWESOME! I’ve also seen how they are with children with special needs, they truly go above and beyond to make your child extremely comfortable! The office staff always has smiling faces and treats my kids so well, even when they ask for a second lollipop! LOL We’ve been coming here for years and are expecting another and cannot wait to have the little guys first hair cut at JJ’s!

I took my 15 month old son Nicholae to get his hair trimmed for the first time it was a wonderful experience he was sleep but that didnt stop Mrs Maria she was fun to talk to and was very patient

Ms. Marlie is wonderful with my son who has ADHD and sensory issues. She is the sweetest and fantastic at cutting hair. Just remember to book an appointment a week in advance.

We took our 5-year-old daughter for her first real haircut. I think the experience was fine for her (treats and a video to watch), but the stylist didnt listen to what my wife wanted (layers and collarbone-length) and had a rude response to my wifes request to start long and then trim up if necessary (saying I dont have time for two haircuts). The haircut is lackluster and was too short. Even though we were so clear and descriptive, the stylist just did the same haircut shes probably done a 1000 times. Disappointing customer service.

My little guy is scared of haircuts I took him to get a cut because he needed one so bad I thought he would like the cars not so much. I would have thought that an establishment geared at kids would be better with them I had to finish his hair cut after I could tell the stylist was ready to go home I held my son as she kinda gave him a hair cut. At least the other stylists tried to help me get all the hair off of me our handed me a towel and said go to the bathroom. No air conditioner so the hair stuck right to me. I wont be back I gave them 25.00 because he cried and then didnt see how horrible his hair looked until he was in the car.

I am a working mom and got off work early to take my son to get his hair trimmed and got their right at 6:30. The hours posted say they are open till 7, but you better get there well before 6:30 because even though they have available staff and no one waiting they will not do the cut... Never had an experience like that. Needless to say we wont be going back.

I visited for my sons first hair cut after he was involved in a terrible accident. He is very nervous and weary around anyone going near his face. His stylist listened to my concerns and worked really well with him. I will be coming back. Yes it is more expensive but you are all also using stylist who know how to handle kids, not all places can very well. You are also paying for the cool cars and movies they play!

If your child has normal hair, this is a fine place for taking children. The play area is nice and the videos while the children are getting their hair cut is a great idea.However, my daughter has very very very curly hair. Shirley Temple curly - absolutely beautiful. I had not had it cut previously simply because I knew it was not going to be a simple thing to do. I asked that they cut her bangs so she could see and trim up the ends so it looked somewhat even. Her hair is very thick as well.Imagine my horror when I turned away to watch brother and turned back to see that the person had thinned her hair very very much. Her beautiful curls had all but disappeared. I almost burst into tears. We left and I kept telling myself it wasnt that bad. I was corrected when I took her to school for meet and greet and a large number of the other mothers either exclaimed or asked me in private - what happened to her hair! In tears again.If your child has normal hair, this place would be fine. For us - we will never ever go back.Also, the web site says walk-ins welcome. I would not recommend going without an appt. We walked in - and were told in a round about way - that we were not welcome. A family who had walked in before us - and left out of exasperation with waiting - was the only reason we were taken care of. And with that - I only got my daughters hair cut - not my son.They do try - and it is a place geared towards children - but - for us - never again.

They took my 13 month old son in as a walk-in 5 minutes before closing on a Saturday. They never complained and constantly smiled. After being turned away from both Cookie Cutter locations (Raleigh & Cary) for not having an appointment, I was at a loss....until JJs. I cant say how much I appreciate the customer service!

First haircut for my not even 2 year old. The stylist was sucking a lollipop, did not bother to take it out of her mouth or introduce herself to me or my child. She took no time to make my daughter comfortable so she screamed through the entire experience. She also cut the back of my daughters hair without asking me, which made me very sad. I was so disappointed that a place that was supposed to serve kids did such a poor job. We wont be back.

More attractive games for kids and the hair cut for my toddler was so good and perfect.. They smoothly handle if toddlers cries ..-so no problem .. happy cut

My son HATES haircuts, but this place is made for kids. They have a tv at each station to help distract and have a large selection of movies for the kids to pick from. Staff is very nice and good at thier job

We love JJs too. Many haircuts and not a bad one...in fact, I think they do a better job than the other place up in Briarcreek. The place may be old school, but thats cool.

We took our son for his first hair cut at 11 1/2 months and it was great. Marley did an amazing job. I do believe this is more of a basic haircut place (seems they have an expected time limit which is common with many salons) so if you wanted something more intricate like that Chad reviewer with the 5 year old daugther then you need to go to an actual Salon. They let you pick out a movie/cartoon and that really helped my little guy sit there. Love the little airplane chairs ect. Will be back!

I did love the layout, my three year old enjoyed getting his haircut there, wasnt super excited about our stylist, she was good just not as friendly as I would expect from someone dealing with young kids. Will definitely go back.

My son has been getting his haircut here since his very first cut. He HATES getting his haircut and is not an easy customer but Ms. Maria is always so sweet and patient with him. They are very busy on the weekends so I would suggest always making an appointment. We love JJs.

Let me start off by saying My son had his first hair cut here 6 years ago- I had never really been impressed with the service however through out the years I was taking my son to a family barber shop as he started getting older his anxiety and ADHD had got significantly worse! Which made me bring myself to bringing him back to JJs Kids being the fun equipment and although outdated and not always working video games and VHS Videos ( I guess) . Marlie I believe a elder lady seemed to calm him enough to receive a hair cut a few months ago- the hair cut was uneven but none the less we can only do what we can with a child who has sensory issues.Here is the finally straw and where the line was crossed!!!!!!Yesterday myself, my son and my daughter walked in around 2 pm on a Wednesday afternoon- 3 staff members no customers in sight - NO I DID NOT make a appointment and never made one in the pass being they take walks in and advertise they take walk ins- I came in smiling an acting real excited for my son who already cried on the way here- he immediate sat down at the video games and started to settle on the idea that he is getting a cut. NUMBER ONE KNOW ONE SMILED SAID WELCOME OR EVEN LOOKED OUR WAY!!! I started to sign him in and a younger blonde head Caucasian girl looked at me with a cold tone cold face (aka rude) how can I help you!! SO already no welcome no smiles no warm inviting setting that if I felt I know My anxiety prone child felt. I said well of course Gian needs a quick edge up ( trim) .. She looked at the older looking Caucasian lady who was a stylist who was just walking around and went to sit and said well are booked. I said well know one is even in here he just needs a trim do you not take walk ins anymore- she with even a nastier attitude said well we prefer a appoint and nope not today!! She said customers have 15 mins to get here which is the same time for a hair cut- I then wanted to know the receptionist name and the handed me card and said if I have a problem call her manager!!! My daughter who is 16 even grabbed my arm and looked at me like mom wow!!! My son even was upset... I then asked the young girl why is she having a attitude this is a place kids and families come and being in customer service for 27 years this is unexceptionable- the out of know where the African american stylist with the dreads walked up and said actually you walked in with a attitude!!! Like number one you never speak to a customer in that manner I know she works with kids ( why I dont know) but I am not a child and how would you know how I walked in when not one person in here greeted up- Mind you if you guys would if answered the phone when I called a hour ago I could of found out I needed a appointed. Being I tried calling to see if they were even busy on a Wednesday in early afternoon!I asked for corporate number but they insisted on me calling the manager / owner who I am sure doesnt do any thing about this behavior being the same girl with dreads who always has a non inviting rude attitude is still working with our children- an now some ride receptionist whose main job is to greet customers and make them feel comfortable - no greet no resolve- example you know what mama although our schedule is booked let me make a appointment for you - or know one is ion here let me take care of your son - I waited in the parking lot for 20 mins not one customer showed up!! The field I work in deals with a lot of families in wake county and word of mouth is everything- Not only did it back track My son who for 7 years I have been dealing with extreme anxiety - That is where you crossed the line- I am a adult I GET that this day in age most owners under pay help and get what you pay for- have training on real hair cuts and real customer service .....
