Exclusive Grooming Lounge would mark my first experience getting my hair cut and washed in a barbershop by a barber. Joe has the secret sauce for a top notch business that provides top notch services. Based on his professionalism, his skills, his ability to build rapport, and unmatched customer service Joe has created the lounge EXPERIENCE. As a female customer I feel like he has designed his business for me just as much as he has for male customers. As a “picky” customer I have to admit that I haven’t had a bad service to date. Just last week, I moved from Kalamazoo, MI to Clayton, NC, just outside of Raleigh. My sister has been a hairstylist in the Kalamazoo area for 25 years, so Ive always had her do my hair and thought I might have to go through a few bad cuts before finding someone I liked down here. So in need of a haircut for weekend events and with my friend/barber out of town, my wife recommended Exclusive Grooming Lounge owned by Joe Corprew. I had read previous views and saw some of his work on Instagram so I decided to give this place a shot. I was thoroughly pleased with the level of professionalism that Joe exhibited as well as a calm atmosphere. It can be nerve racking going to a new barber and placing your trust in his(or her) hands. Joes level of detail, knowledge, and general love for his craft made my experience very relaxed. We had a quick consultation and then I was able to proceed with the hair grooming process. I say grooming because it was much more than a haircut. He provided scalp treatment which revitalized my hair and brought back waves in my hair that I did not know were even there. The whole experience felt like I knew Joe for years. I have already recommended Joe to my friends that are looking for a haircut.

Ive been to a few barbers being a female dealing with alopecia. Ive been told that you will have to try a few to find that one barber that will meet your expectations. Walking into this barber shop is EXACTLY what it should feel like! Im not from NC, but when I got here, it was difficult finding a barber I could trust as much as I trust my go-to in my hometown. I love this location! I have a wonderful experience each time my son has his haircut by Joe. I have appreciated having this reliable, patient, and skilled barber in our lives. There is rarely any wait time, which I truly admire; the professionalism and care that goes into each cut has brought us back as regular clients. I commute from Durham to Raleigh for haircuts every 1-2 weeks, because of the great customer service. Once in the chair, my son becomes the client and the focus. It may be Joe asking how his day was, how school is going, etc., this conversation helps to build rapport and make my child more comfortable in his chair. In addition, during the haircut Joe may stop and ask for my feedback, which I also appreciate. This is a trait of a great barber and I highly recommend this shop!

Not your traditional barbershop experience. Everyone assumes that if you go to a barbershop you’re going to get in and get out. Not this place, it’s a thorough, self-confidence building process from beginning to end. I can’t stress enough how incredible it feels to be in a non-rushed environment where you actually feel like someone else cares about your hair as much as you do.
