Had a body work project after reaching out to a number of local shops chose to go with Carolina Offroad Outfitters. They got the project done exactly how I had wanted and exceed my expectations. Price and time of project were spot on as well. Will definitely go back for future work.
Carolina Offroad Outfitters did an amazing job on my 62. They did a ton of body work, gave it a new paint job, installed a pair of 4plus bumpers, a new radiator, and a really cool decal thats not easy to put on. Everything came out perfect. Amazing that theres absolutely no sign of the 2 quarter-panels they installed. Awesome place, they know what theyre doing, super responsive, and theyll make sure you get exactly what you ask for - at a great rate. Definitely my go-to for anything I need to get done!
Beats the local competition hands down with responsiveness and cost. Great work quality too!
Brought my 18 Silverado here to have a leveling kit installed. Fair price, great turnout, and truck was in and out in about half a day.
Figured I’d drive my FJ60 over and check them out, maybe have a few things done as I’m new to the area. These guys are fantastic! Very personable, easy to chat with, and not to mention they’ve got a yard full of cool stuff! There was only 2 of them in there when I had my work done, and the guy I spoke to said they we’re a small crew. All in all, I would 100% recommend them, and will be returning for my future needs.
These guys are amazing. Allowing the to dream up help for your next vehicle is just smart
Brought my 1988 Land Cruiser here for an oil leak. Over the span of 6 months they were never able to correct it.Took it to another shop and they discovered it was due to the rear main seal, which COO replaced along with various other pans, seals, and gaskets. Not to mention any time they worked on something, a new issue would pop up i.e. a transmission leak that I did not originally have.Do not recommend.
Read the review below, and amazingly similar to my experience a year ago. Brought in my two-owner 195k mile 89 FJ62 for rear main seal change and new engine gaskets. After six weeks, picked up with new motor problems and rear main seal still leaked. Silicone used with the gaskets as well, good for quick sealing but future early failure. (different thermal expansion rates)After hemming and hawing, owner did cover the cost of new rear main seal install at another shop. Commend for that. As for engine issues, told its an old truck, things break. Coincidentally while at their shop? Guess Ill have to give them benefit of the doubt. Was extremely cold last Christmas while sitting in their yard.Really hope these two reviews are exceptions and not the rule. Raleigh needs a good vintage SUV resto shop. Lets hear the good work done here and prove me wrong!
Had a fantastic experience with the whole crew over at Carolina Offroad. From first contact to final pickup, everything was great.
I’ve been getting my FJ62 serviced here for the past year, this is pretty much the place to go if you have a vintage 4X4. I’ve had seals, suspension, and the works done by these guys.I haven’t seen any other shops in the area take the level of care these guys do with bodywork and I will be getting mine repainted there after baselining the mechanicals.Vintage SUVs are a lifestyle and not everyone gets it like these guys do.
Similar situation to others mentioned above. Came in for service and left with more issues.
Friendly people and knowledge also.
The only place in Raleigh Id trust my 4x4 work too.
Wonder if they work on jeeps and Land Rover defender
Good
