So. April 2021..What can I say. John posted a 2002 VW cabrio for 3k and me out in California saw this and thought I want that! I contacted John who informed me that there was already a hold on this car, my heart was shattered. i told him if by any chance this person backs out let me know; and thank my lucky stars he text me and said they didnt buy it I put a $200 hold on the car and he informed me that it was non refundable I gambled putting this deposit on a car i barely saw and never drove and I was 3000 miles away. Im sure John though I was crazy. Sure enough a week later we flew out to North Carolina and saw this beauty of a car. John still thinking I am nuts for picking up a car and attempting to drive it cross country being 20 years old and priced at 3k. He mentioned many times that he wouldnt allow his sister to take that journey and he made sure I understood that there was no refunds and I couldnt call him from the side of the 40 and ask for help. (Although I got the vibe that hess a nice enough guy he would do what he could to help). I pondered on it for a minute, John was clear with what he repaired and let me take it on a few test drives. We were 3 girls not knowing too much about cars, about to drive this car 3000 miles back to Los Angeles. It started to rain, John replaced the wipers for us, John gave us Anti Freeze in case we needed in on the journey home. He had changed the battery, and put in a radio (because he disclosed the original one was broken) There was no way we could drive cross country with no tunes. We drove John crazy Im sure that Saturday, we had thousands of questions, and although he never promised the car would make the trip; I really got this vibe that he genuinely cared that we made it home safe. I bought it! the 3 of us left with the car and headed out. I texted John multiple times still asking questions about things and he responded; I mean the sale was done... he could have been good riddance.. but he is a decent human being and in the used car sales world that is hard to fine. Long story short that little car made it home safely. 3000 miles in 4 days and pretty much through all kinds of weather. John was also kind enough to send us off with one of his good luck garlics. Would it have been Johns fault if we didnt make it, no.. but his honestly and genuineness made him easy to trust. The other gentlemen I believe his name was Phillip.. he went on the test drive with me, he was just as kind. Putting up with us 3 annoying women who just got off a plane is not easy and those two handled us with CLASS. John had another offer on the car, for more money he even showed the proof of it; he could have made up some excuse to not sell the car to me, but true to his word he held that car for me and that integrity these days is hard to find. And too boot by the time I got home, he had sent over all the paperwork I needed to go to the DMV. I appreciate John, and his shop for assisting me with this purchase. We had an amazing road trip home I cant wait to drive her in the California Sun. Good People here! Thanks Again!
I keep coming back because they do good work and treat me well. I wish they had just gone on and done the service for 50k miles since that comes up in the next few weeks and it would have been nice not to have to make a second trip. But they are honest and do good work. Can’t ask for more.
Good Cars. Quality Service. In and Out in a Timely Manner. Definitely recommend for any type of service or buying a car !
John and his team are the best. They can handle it all. If you have a collectable car and looking for a shop that can repair it this is your place. I have been a client for over 5 years. Thanks John.
Import Performance is not just another car shop. I learned things about my car I didnt know, and also wasnt left broke when I got the bill. Another shop had quoted me a price that made my jaw hit the floor. A friend recommended them so I went there for a second opinion. John the owner explained to me that while all the parts the other shop was trying to replace were part of the car system that needed service however not all were necessary. The mechanic at Import Performance narrowed the problem down to one part that definitely needed to be replaced, and even came out of the mechanic area to show and explain to me the repair need. It was really nice of him to take the time to chat briefly with little old me. Thank you Import Performance you are now my rock steady car shop forever!
Great people . john its very good business man. Thank you john..
A little over a year ago I purchased a vehicle from here and the staff was nice but it was probably one of the biggest financial mistakes I have ever made. In just one year I have had to buy 4 new tires, a new gas cap that went with the vehicle, and a new catalytic converter with sensors and that is not including a new A/C compressor and condenser which also needed to be replaced and a new engine so I am left to basically sell this car for scrap parts after its been nothing but trouble for an entire year. Their staff is nice and I did not ever get my car serviced here so I cannot say much about that aspect but I personally do not recommend purchasing a vehicle from this location.
Great place to buy a car!!! I highly recommend them, super easy to deal with and very informative in what they are selling. Top Notch!!! Their service is awesome too! Thanks to Ryan Daniel(sales) and Kaarel(service) for making my experience here very easy and enjoyable. Got a happy and satisfied customer here!!!
This is a great shop. John is so helpful.
Very nice cars. Very honest and upfront about their cars and they DONT pressure you to buy like some car lots do. I bought a car and was out of there within 30-45min. Will DEFINITELY recommend to my friends and family.
John and his staff were great. Highly recommended.
Don’t buy a car from here. There top priority is to rip you off.
I was a college student in need of a car after I totaled my old one by hydroplaned. Import Performance was able to make a awesome deal with me and got me a nice good quality car that was a Volkswagen! Was very thankful. Very Nice and good people at import! They take care of all their cars- all the car’s important features to make sure customers get good quality/best condition cars.Would defiantly go back and highly recommended!
Import Performance is a prodigious company! I take both of my BMWs here for all types of work. Each time Important Performance, especially John has kept in constant contact via phone or text of precise issues and cost or additional cost to correct the problem. Regardless, their prices are reasonable, 9 out of 10 times beating the price offered by the dealership. I highly recommend Import Performance!
Great shop for imports, I had an alignment on my S2000 done here. Those cars are notoriously difficult to align and they got it done as close as they could to the specs I wanted. They were only limited by the equipment I had on the car. All in all a good shop with great prices and a dedicated team of mechanics.
Import Performance has an impressive inventory of hard to find and interesting imports, at very reasonable prices. And I can personally attest to excellent after purchase support. They have been amazing with my e-class purchase. Thank you John & team!
Awesome, easy experience! I called on Friday and got a diagnosis over the phone. John ordered the parts and texted me a quote after. Just dropped my car off today (Monday) and it was ready in 2 hours. Will definitely be back for future maintenance!
What a great experience!I saw a couple of vehicles online on a different site, I found their web site, did some research, and made contact with Import Performance via text or contact us online and was contacted quickly! I made an appointment for this past Saturday. The place was easy to find and gave me a good first impression, as the first vehicle I wanted to see and test drive was already parked out front! I walked in and was greeted cheerily. I liked the ‘look’ of the place, they have style! Everyone was so nice and laid back. No pressure. We spoke about looking for a good used vehicle for our son and what we were looking for. We were invited to test drive the first vehicle, while the other contender was brought up for us. Upon return, we discussed both vehicles, and took the second vehicle out for a test drive. Upon our return, we discussed the usual…price and etcetera, but our conversation changed to different topics. It was like we had known each other for years! I can’t explain it other than it felt nice, comfortable, and easy. Not at all like any other “dealer”…it felt more like friends helping friends, auto enthusiasts enjoying each other’s company, where buying an automobile just seemed to be a side transaction. Does anyone else feel the same way?Suffice it to say, we will be coming back, and from now on, Import Performance will be my first call when looking for a used vehicle or import vehicle repair. Thank you folks and it was great to meet you!
Went in to have the belts replaced on my Volvo as general maintenance. They gave me a quote which was accurate to what I paid in the end. All my questions were answered and everything was explained thoroughly. Ive been driving my car for 3 or 4 months now and its been running great. Highly recommend Import Performance.
John has been working on my cars for maybe eighteen years. I trust him totally. He always provide me with information about my vehicle services and give me the price and priorities. I would recommend Import Performance and I have always been treated fairly and I love how knowledgeable John is.
Ive been going to this place for the past 5 years. Ive tried other places but Ive come back. Good customer service and they have been accommodating time wise with decent rates.
Amazing service! They have great cars at the best pric . The vehicles are in excellent condition and they truly care about their clients.
Dealer level expertise at prices that are reasonable. I have used this shop for years on my German cars. They are honest and dependable when it comes to diagnosing and fixing anything on my cars.
Willing to do whatever it takes to get your car ready for the street before they sell it to you. If you get a third-party pre-purchase inspection and find problems they will correct them for you.
Best place Ive ever been for my car. The first time I went it came back running more smoothly than when I first got my car. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly. I went there for about 6 years and even when I moved a bit further away I still chose to go there over any place else. Very trustworthy and they do excellent work.
I recently bought a used car from a private seller and realized quickly that it needed a few fixes the hard way. The Import Performance crew is always friendly, fast and thorough. Their prices are competitive and their work is superb. Leave your current car shop and experience theyre great work! You wont regret it.
I drive a Lexus so I thought this would be an appropriate place to get my car serviced. I was greeted by a gentlemen named Ron. I knew what I needed: new tires mounted, an alignment, and an oil change. simple. before telling them to go ahead I asked him break down the cost for me and let me know what I will be paying for each service. What caught my attention was $95 for the alignment. I said, 95 for an alignment? I know they typically run around 70. Rons reply,Maybe, but not here. -Maybe Ron didnt feel like working on a Friday afternoon but really? What awful service. So I took out my phone and called Precision Tune Auto Care across the street and asked one question: how much for an alignment. reply 65. I thanked Ron for his time and drove right across the street where they preformed my service quickly for HALF THE PRICE and that is not an exaggeration.Save your time and money and dont even bother. Youll be treated better across the street.
I am going to be a long time customer here. Import performance offers great service and they were very attentive to my car. Long story short, I had an issue the dealer couldn’t resolve (without a large expense attached), and John with Import Performace was able to resolve my issue. He gave me the proper information about a service I should do in the future, but was not immediately needed. I appreciate them establishing great trust from my first experience with them!
Great place! Highly recommend to others. Their super friendly, can’t ask for better service. The mechanics there are highly knowledgeable on pretty much any car any year. They’ve done literally everything for all 5 of our cars over the past 2 years now and I will never go anywhere else.
I purchased a car from a private owner and brought it here to be inspected prior to buying. I was told it would take 1.5 - 2 hours, so I was surprised when they were done in less than 30 minutes. When the mechanics described to me what they had checked, I was disappointed because they were not very thorough. After buying the car, I realized that one of the front bulbs was not working. The mechanic didnt say a word about that. If they didnt notice the front bulb, they probably missed a lot of other stuff too. If youre going to charge $140 for an inspection, it should be thorough.
Terrible, I called to make sure they still had the minivan I wanted to look at. Salesman said yes so I took off work early drove there, salesman was gone stood around for 20 min waiting to talk to someone finally the owner came out and told me the van wasnt there...it was in Hillsborough because an employee drove it home. Then he said leave your number well call you it should be back early next week, never heard back.
Great customer service... always know how to diagnose issues with my car.
Great staff, quality work, and fair priced. Definitely will be back.
It is excellent i am pleased with the service they have provided. I walked in the door with huge repair issues with my car. Ron, John and his team are very knowledgeable and knew what to fix. They took care of my car and web of repairs my car needed which came with the 110k miles on it. When i drove i felt as if i am driving my good old car when it was at 30k miles in it(to summarize it is a good as new).I highly recommend this place if you owning a German brand car.
Went to view a car with my husband today and called ahead to book an appointment as we live over an hour away. Got there and no one knew where the car was. Hadnt been sold... just... lost? Waited a bit as more customers came in so let them be dealt with first. Go back in after a bit and find out an employee had taken it and not turned up with it that day. They didnt even bother to check the vehicle was there even after staying we live over an hour away! Tried to sell us a different car and it was in such poor shape. Shoddy work and too much money for how much wed need to put into it to make it last more than a week. Barely an apology for wasting our time completely. Unprofessional to say the least. Avoid at all costs!
I have my third car there now being worked on and have been very pleased, Ron, Henry and all the others I have worked with have been responsive, professional and polite. Maybe even too polite I am trying to get them to use my first name instead of Mr._____. Work is well done and thorough.
Seemed very untrustworthy. Just took my car in for a state inspection. First of all, I made an appointment online with a drop down asking what needed to be serviced. I chose state inspection. Then walked in and verbally said I needed an inspection and to check the coolant because I had to refill recently. Then I filled out a form and checked state inspection as the service requested. I waited for an hour for the guy to come back and charge me $60 for coolant (and check for a leak) and tire pressure and NO inspection. He acted surprised when I asked about it and stated he did not even know he was supposed to do one...He said he wouldnt have passed me anyway because the fog light cover was cracked. Then tried getting me to buy one.*** update: my car passed inspection the same day at a different place. NC doesnt have anything in its safety inspection code about fog lights because not all cars have them***I dont care about having to get my light fixed but this all made him seem untrustworthy. How could you miss that I needed an inspection?? So now I feel like he extended my service to be an hour so he could charge me for an hour of labor. Maybe because I am a young woman so he assumed I wouldnt know any better? This is the reason why people are so skeptical of mechanics! If it isnt untrustworthiness, then its incompetence. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I will go elsewhere to get my light fixed.
NOT RECOMMENDEDWe had an older Volvo that had an oil leak and not only was the leak not fixed, after getting the car back, multiple errors and further issues evolved not related to the oil leak. They offered to allow us to bring it back and although we did, further issues arose immediately following getting back home. Will never go back.
I had a series of strange experiences at this shop that made me very much question whether these guys were taking advantage of me. Ill never know for certain, but I would advise to stay clear. If you have a Saab, I HIGHLY recommend Swedish Imports as an alternative.
Brought in a Saab convertible that had a soft top that would not close because all the hydraulic fluid had leaked out. I came in and told the man at the desk that I only wanted the soft top manually put back into place and that I didnt not want the issue diagnosed because I already knew what the issue was. They took care of the car quickly, which is great. Problem is, the gentleman I spoke to at the desk appeared to be irritated that I knew exactly what the problem was and that I told him upfront that I would only pay for the soft-top to be pulled up and nothing else. When I came in to pick it up, I tried to have a conversation about a specific part of the process that they took to fix it and he actually walked off while I was in mid-sentence. Part of customer service is ensuring that customers are fully informed and fully satisfied. I did not feel like they wanted me to be fully informed and I did not leave feeling fully satisfied with my service, even though my car issue was resolved.
No customer relations, not into working with customers. No Denver of service
I started using Import Performance a few years ago because of a great reference from a coworker. At this point I feel we have a relationship where Im patient with them and theyre patient with me and most importantly I feel theyre honest with me. Theyll quote the cost of fixing everything that needs to be fixed on my car or theyll quote a fix for only the problem Im concerned about. Ive never had them try to push me to get unnecessary service. Theyre definitely worth a try, Ive even had American cars repaired there.
I brought my VW in for routine maintenance and to diagnose/fix a slow tire leak. John and team did a wonderful job. They gave me written updates via text about the status of the repairs. All work was professionally done. I felt like they were a partner is helping me to get the most out of my car. They also arranged an after hours pickup. I will definitely be back.
Don’t allow me to test drive, run my credit, give me a payment option, agree on down payment, set a time for me to come in then sell the car an hour before I get there. What kind of business is that. No courtesy call. I show up and get a... “which one? Oh, sold it, sorry. I sold it an hour ago.” Wouldn’t recommend this kind of shadiness.
I would highly advise NOT coming here. If you have a European car there is a shop across the street that is far superior. They will try to take advantage of those with limited auto knowledge, and when my wife visited she felt extremely uncomfortable with how they do business...Go elsewhere.
Thank you for your helps. They were very helpful. I recommend this place.
Import performance is easily the best! John, Nicole, and Jason are all so kind, helpful and friendly. I bought a neato little Subaru Forester from import after a LOT of searching in the area. After a month of driving my *new* (used) car, I still dont feel I could have made a better choice! John took the time (a lot of time) to talk to me about what he thinks is best option for me. This was my first time buying a car by myself (without my dad) and John spent time on the phone with my dad making sure my dad felt comfortable with the car as well. All the necessary and expensive work that older subarus need was done before I purchased the car. A few unforeseen issues popped up within a couple weeks of driving and Jason gladly fixed them for me at no cost to me. Everyone here made sure the car was safe and as ready as ever to drive it across the country. Still couldnt be happier with my choice and I cannot thank import performance enough. Definitely recommend buying car from them or getting your car fixed by them! Theyre simply the best around.
This place is great!! the team members are very knowledgeable, and customer service is excellent. :)
They did a great job! Had to replace my waterpump and they did it in a flash of an eye. If anyone knows anything about vw cc its not an easy fix. They even cleaned my whole engine bay!Appreciate their work they did!
Mixed bag on the used cars side. Their business model is to buy used cars at auction, fix them up, and flip them. Sounds simple enough. And their customer service is good.Last August I bought a 2001 Subaru Forester from them for $5k, and they threw in a new compressor, master cylinder, and windshield, as well as fixing the emergency brake after I discovered it was completely dead. Okay, nice. Then the trouble started. A car that old with 155k miles on it, you expect to have some problems, but this thing had a persistent Check Engine light that, after I got Performance Subaru to diagnose it, eventually traced back to a bad wiring harness and catalytic converter. That as well as four bad tires (not bald tires, underline, they were rotted and headed for tread separation), four bad struts, a leaky rack and pinion, an inoperable cruise control, and oil leaks from every major seal on the engine. Since buying this $5000 car I have paid an additional $2500 in repairs and Im not finished yet, and my usual mechanic informed me that had I brought it to him for a state inspection, he wouldve failed it.
I was hoping that this shop would be a place where I could take all of my cars. John and his employees were very accommodating. Unfortunately, there were times where the attention to detail wasnt quite where it needed to be. As a results, I experienced damage to my car that became very costly. You may still want to give them a shot. Im hoping this situation was a one time event and that others wont have similar experiences. I wish them nothing but the best.
Routine oil change with usual check-over of belts, hoses, etc. Several items to watch but no need for repair yet for my 2002 Passat with 110k miles. The reason I come here is that Ron and Frank treat my car as they would their own - if something is needed, do it, if not, wait. As a result of their attention and service, I have spent zero time on the side of the road with any breakdowns. Highly recommended.
My wife took her car here, and they attempted to up-sell service, saying her car needed expensive repairs it clearly did not need. I took her car elsewhere to get a second opinion, which saved us over $600.I only hope the previous reviewers that gave good reviews did not get taken for a ride (pun intended) and charged excessively for services they did not need.
My favorite place to get my car serviced in the area. Great customer service. Very caring mechanics. Timely service.
I have been taking my old subaru here for years, and never feel taken advantage of, which is a big deal for women. I have always been greeted by friendly faces and good service. One of the parts that they put in previously had failed, and they replaced it at no cost to me as it was under warranty. You just dont see that kind of honesty at a car repair shop very often.
Best auto place Ive been to hands down. The mechanics there are GENIUS. and thats not an under statement. i highly recommend them to anybody who wants quality work done on their cars. Henry Drury is who i would ask for. Sometimes he takes longer then youd like but quality takes time and he always goes the extra step. He has worked on all our cars for the last 6 years and I dont have a single complaint. 10 out of 10 work. Even Frank and Ron, good guys.anyways, just wanted to write a review to thank import for everything theyve done and a special thanks to Henry Drury for all the quality work hes done for our cars.
Very friendly and helpful mechanics. We took the VW in for a starting issue and they got to it within a few minutes. Theyre usually very busy though, so I had to go early in the morning. Theyre one of the only Euro autoshops in the area that isnt appointment only.
Bad business do not buy a car from these guys or let them work on your car they cut corners and does not put in quality work sold me a complete lemon that I had to pay 5000 dollars to fix I asked them to at least let me know all the problems with the vehicle before I purchased so I could fix it but they didn’t now I’m stuck with it go to a legit dealership or car service before dealing with these heartless people
These guys are great people to do business with!
The general manager and his entire crew always take great care of me and never pressure me into work I dont want or cant afford. Highly recommend!
I have been bringing my 1995 BMW 525 wagon here for 2 years. I started with a Groupon for an oil change and have come back for many things. The shop is clean, the people are attentive, lobby and wireless connection are great for me to work while I wait. They are easy to work with...meaning. I am a bit of a mechanic, so often I do the work myself and I just need their help with certain things. Import Performance is flexible to do as much as I need. I like their email communication, their online receipts and reminders. Good job guys!
Best place you could possibly take your car!! John goes above and beyond for his customers in a way that I have never experienced before. I brought a car here for a pre-purchase inspection without an appointment and they not only fit me in, but then advised me not to purchase the car and didnt even charge me. Because of this, we went back when my girlfriend was looking at a used car and they took care of her on a saturday, and then John also drove the car to a lot for her since she didnt know how to drive manual yet. She unfortunately burnt the clutch out trying to learn it and John has been amazing yet again. He was extremely reasonable in the price to repair, put so much time and effort in to not only fix the car but also was very transparent about everything. On top of that, he even offered to teach her manual himself so that this wouldnt happen to her again. You wont find a better or more trustworthy shop, I will be going here for as long as I live in the area!
I first brought my 94 Jetta to Import Performance because of a Groupon I purchased and have since been back several times due to their prompt, professional, and friendly service! As a young female, I often feel that car professional try to swindle me, but Ron and his staff have always given me honest advice and quality work. They dont go for the hard sell or try to pressure you into buying anything. I feel like Im working with family when I go here...and thats a big deal! I recommend them to all import drivers!
A perfect example of daylight robbery or blatant overcharging.I took my car in for an inspection (check engine light was on) on a Wednesday, April 8, 2015, and was told that it would be checked out on the following morning. Only after repeated calls, with no response, did Ron finally call back the following Monday, April 13 (almost a week) with an estimate of $1485 to get my car to pass inspection. I arrived back at Import Performance only minutes later for I was already en route to retrieve the car. I was told upon my arrival that the diagnostics cost was $151 without any work being done. The diagnostics showed that I needed windshield wiper blades at a cost of $70 plus labor. I had just replaced the blades about three months earlier at a cost of $18. Also, it showed that I needed an oil change at a cost of about $200. I had just had an oil change about 2500 miles earlier. He said the light was on because I needed a thermostat, at a cost of over $750. There has never been and still isn’t a problem with the car heating or cooling. The list goes on and on and on!I paid for the diagnostic test and took my car to a nearby repair shop that is now doing the work for just over $300 (to include the diagnostic).I will never patronize this business again and would not recommend it to anyone apart from my worst enemy.
Took my 2007 VW Beetle here to be serviced after a fender bender.. they were extremely courteous and professional in dealing with me. They even offered to deal with my insurance agency for me and and are even very on-line which is rare in this line of work now... The shop emailed me a pdf of my estimate and that makes it so much easier for me! Import Performance gained a new customer for as long as Im in the area!
I had to replace thermostat in my mini cooper. I couldn’t drive it so i called them right before i got my car towed asking about the cost of thermostat with labor thy said it was 350$or 380$. So i got my car towed to their place. They said the car will be ready in the same day or the next morning. I’ve been told that i will recieve text message before taking any step like they wouldn’t fix anything untill i confirm. So, i waited the whole day they didn’t give me a call i thought they would call the next day, but they’ve never called. When they called at 5:30pm after they closed . They said that my car was already fixed and my total was 304$ but not the thermostat it was just trottle body cleaning that means nothing was replaced yet. and if i want the thermostat to get fixed i will have to pay an other 499$. After i was told 380$ on the phone. They fixed my car without even asking me or letting me know. If you want to be aware about your car when it is getting fixed then that’s not the right place for you because they will do whatever they want without asking your permission nor telling you the problem or the cost. He gave me adjusment for that like 55$ Which is appreciated but it’s still not going to cover what they’ve done with me as a customer who has the right to know what’s going on with my car and ask for mypermission.06/13/2018I’m going to add some points based on your response to my review. Sir, your way of communicating and expressing is not proper for a business owner neither for customer service agent. I would advise you to take some classes and learn how to speak with customers because i am as a 20 years old college student know how to speak with people not only during my work shifts but also in other public places. I’m going to prove my points first of all, towing my car is not something that you should care for and the cost is not something that minds you . My car came towed to your store because i tusted you when you said we won’t touch your car if you don’t confirm. Second of all when we walked in inside the store you were talking to one of your employees with bad way in front of us and looking very mad and lost. You’ve never answer my questions. Third thing, You can’t say i was crying for 250$ Since you havent seen my tears coming down. even if i cried for real you shouldn’t be this rude and proud. Fourth thing You called me and try to convince me that you didn’t do anything wrong but when i talked about fixing my car without my permission you couldn’t say anything you were just quite looking for something to say. I could get my car towed from your shop to an other shop and pay the inspection rather than let you do what you’ve done.
NEVER GO HERE!! I had an appointment! Took OVER 2 hrs for an oil change & tire rotation. I provided the oil & filter for my vehicle!! Then the Tech took MY vehicle to get lunch!! My truck has (1) cup holder, he got out of the truck with (4) fu*king drinks!!! Then the Tech decided to eat his lunch before bringing in my paperwork!! What the FU*K!!! I dont know how there are good reviews on this page as my experience was obviously terrible!!!
Impeccable Service Thanks John and Team!!!
Bought my car June 23th on Friday. We live in Snow Camp which is South of Burlington. Before we got home the check engine light was on and we cld smell oil burning. My husband called John and he said for me to bring it back Monday. When I got there Monday they had no loaner for me so they took me to Cary Towne Center and left me there for 6 hrs. It was then I called them and ask if they forgot me and he said oh were finishing up Ill send someone to get you. He turned the check engine light off but it came on again before I got home. The car became very loud and they said bring it back again. He said it was a flex pipe under the car and at his price it led be 200.00 and anywhere else 350.00. We took it somewhere else jus to find out the whole underneath the car was rusted out and the entire exhaust has got to be replaced. John said well you bought as is!!!! I wld not recommend them to anyone looking to buy a car!
We had used Import Performance To Help Us With A Van We Sold A Customer That Needed Some Warranty Work, There Customer Service Was Excellent, Professional And There Repairs Were Promp And Accurate. As A Fellow Shop We Would Highly Reccomend This Buisness For Your Automotive Service Needs.
Came in with my 06 Porsche which was pulling to the left and the dealership couldnt figure out why. So, i went to my second best option West German Garage; they dont do alignments....and thats how I got to Import Performance.Met John who knew who instantly knew what was going on, and did the alignment with me in the car. (the tech kinda seemed like a rookie) Even though the numbers were off the manufactures specs after adjustment, he said its what needed to be done.Turns out, he was right! Car is laser straight and have ever needed an alignment ever since!!! Fair price + Great Job!
No matter the issue I’ve had Import Performance has taken care of it.
Great service and crew. Wouldnt take my BMW anywhere else (except for a dealership).
I give this dealership two stars instead of one since they picked up my vehicle. In Dec of 2015 my husband bought a 2005 forester. We did not get a warranty knowing that it was a ten year old car and there would be some maintenance, but little did we know that we were being sold a rigged vehicle. Within 24 hours the sunroof broke and we had to put a tarp over the car because it rained that night. Well, ok again its a ten year old vehicle and we were quoted $100 by my mechanic to fix it. Inconvenient, but not the end of the world. When we took it in because we noticed a strange smell coming from the engine (3 days later) - Someone had decided that it was ok to use a PLASTIC ZIP TIE ON THE TURBO AND THE OTHER END OF THE LINE DID NOT HAVE A CLAMP AT ALL. I dont know if it was the pervious owner or that the guys in the shop did this for a quick sale. However, when I saw this (it was right in front of me, I didnt have to look for it very hard and Im no mechanic) I could not believe it. The certified Subaru mechanic told me there was no reason the dealership shouldnt have seen this. I was also told that this would be almost a $1000 fix! I called our dealer who didnt want to do anything for us other than put 200 towards the bill. I had to argue with him that he sold us a rigged vehicle and its not right. After a few hours, he agreed to pick up the vehicle and try to put metal claps on it. There was a lot of back and forth, unanswered calls, and the dealer didnt want to put a clamp on the other end of the line where there wasnt one, so we had to argue about that too. A week later we got the car back AND IT WAS NOT FIXED. The engine smelled awful and was SMOKING worse that before!! On top of that the SUNROOF WAS STILL BROKEN even though import performance agreed to fix it. At this point we gave up on Import Performance and went to my mechanic. He told me that the passenger side valve cover gasket was MISSING COMPLETELY.Buyers Beware - these guys do half A$$ work.
Great place friendly staff and reasonable prices!
I looked the place onlin called this place today March 3 2014 I asked the lady about a k&N FILTER OR A COLD AIR INTAKE ON 2010 ACURA. She put me on hold then got back to me and said go with the filter the cold air will give you problems further down the road. I was like OK what kind of problems, the woman hung up in my face. I called. Back goes to voice mail. I am so pissed off I pulled on the shoulder to type this review. I feel if you ask a shop a question give me a detail answer. If thats the way they treat a future costume I go Somewhere else.
Another auto repair shop owner, who I really trust, referred me to Import Performance for timing belt issue of my volvo car, which I suspected that it needs to be changed. I requested an estimated price of timing belt and got a reply very soon, and the estimation was a little lower than I had gotten from a third store. But I postponed until my engine light also went on, and then I wanted to fix the engine light, check timing belt, noise, and a few other small things all at once. I was careful and went to check Import Performance website first. I saw the detailed introduction of their services and rich experience for volve cars. They have many good reviews. A professor whom I know very well also strongly recommended this place. So I felt good about this place. I immediately made an appointment with them. People at Import Performance were careful in testing my car. They were honest with the cars condition and offered the lowest price. As a poor grad student, I happened to be in a financial crisis during that time that I still could not afford the full amount. They made extra effort to reduce the cost by retesting the car and recommending the very necessary repairs. I fully trust their judgement and patiently wait for however long it takes, and it was faster than I expected. When the repair work was done, they even cleaned my car inside and outside, and I was shocked when I saw my shining car. After their service, my car is so much quieter than before that I do not even know that it could be that quiet. The little things such as a broken signal light that bothered me were gone. My car also drives smoother than before. They made good judgement on my Volvo car and got it done so well. Nice people to talk to. It was a blessed experience. I am very thankful for their efforts and service. I feel that my car found a home. Several friends of mine want to try this place.
Good People. Great Products.
Great service everytime!
In love with this place, best dealership ever !
Tried to call, got hung up on. This was in the afternoon, on a weekday, during operating hours. It wasnt even subtle. Someone picked up the phone and hung it up. Clearly an unprofessional shop. Avoid.
Be wary of purchasing a vehicle there. They tried to add on additional fees that amounted to about 5% of the price of the car I was looking to buy.
Very knowledgeable mechanics and great prices.
Have been using Import Performance for my BMW work for 5 years, are my preferred shop.
The service here is not professional. They kept the car waaaaay longer than proposed and did work than needed subsequent fixing and tried to charge us several grand above quoted price
They made us wait 2 hours jus to come back and tell us they do t have time for it when they told us they need 1 hour horrible service all we wanted was an pre purchase inspection
TOTAL RIPOFF. STAY FAR AWAY
