Great service - on a holiday! I was very lucky they were open and had several set of tires in my size. Installed and balanced extra fast. Nice folks, friendly shop, highly recommended!

Spend 645 on 4 new tires but cant get an inspection? Today is booked I thought it was first come first served Im the first person in line. Been waiting. People who left vehicles overnight are ahead of you. Ok Id like to schedule an inspection. Nope we dont schedule inspections its first come first served. Come back tomorrow and try again. So I come back first in line again oh youre in luck 1 spot very last one at the end of the day. You will have to leave it. I cant oh well have a nice day ☺. So if youre trying to get a state inspection this may not be the place for you, even if you spend 645.00.

These folks are top notch. Always get great service. They have their waiting area set up for social distancing, everyone wearing masks. Felt safe as it is set up. In and out quick for an oil change and tire rotation. No issues

I’ll tell you all right now these people are very nice to you!!! The workers in the back are great they knew what they was talking about! I drive a Audi A5 Quattro and I’ve been to other garages and they see my car and believe I have a lot of money and it’s simply not true. Thompson tire treated me like anyone else and was more than helpful to me for future jobs on my car and I respect them for simply charging me the price I know is reasonable sadly it’s hard to find a good mechanic that knows what and how to do things especially with a performance car so I’ll be going back and you should too!!! I needed two flats repaired. I came to them right as they were closing. I normally wouldnt have asked for services when they were so clearly done for the day, but I was desperate (it happened to be the first day of my new job, didnt have time to repair them before work so I pumped them with emergency air and waited til I got off). They easily could have told me that it was too late, and they couldnt help me. Instead, they happily assisted me in my time of need, even though it meant staying a little late. Im a new driver with 0 experience in tire shops, and they patiently explained to me what they were fixing and how. Im so lucky to have been treated with such kindness. Little experiences like this give me so much faith in humanity. Thank you Thompson Tire :)

We had a tire that was almost flat, and we were able to inflate it to drive to Thompson Tire to have it looked at. We arrived at 4pm and were hoping to have it looked at quickly to still get to work at 5 without having to leave it until the next day. Even though it was pouring rain, they were able to get it in and fix the valve stem in 20 minutes. Wow! That really helped us to keep on schedule. Thank you for the great service.

I am not sure there are enough words to describe how good Thompson Tire, especially Teresa Dowdy, was to me recently. On my way back home to Maryland, from Tennessee, I experienced trouble with my tire pressure. Ultimately, I ended up in a hotel in Wytheville Virginia. After searching for tire repair shops, I went to a shop and explained my situation. After putting air in my tire, and being told I was good to go, I was sent on my way. Within 5 miles, my tire pressure dropped again. I ended up at another shop and was told my bead seal was broken. They repaired it and once again, I was on my way. Again, within 5 miles, my pressure dropped to 12. I pulled into a gas station and called road side assistance. I was towed to Thompson Tire in Radford, Virginia and was greeted by Teresa Dowdy. I explained my previous attempts in trying to get this tire fixed. One of her employees looked over my car and within two hours, I was told there was a problem with a loose nut in my tire stem. Grateful to finally have it fixed, and to be getting on the road many hours behind schedule, I pulled out my wallet to pay. At that time, Teresa said, “I’m not going to charge you. You’ve had enough trouble today. Just get home to your family”. Of course, I cried and she started tearing up as well. So, I thanked her and went on my way. I made it home safely and was glad to put this ordeal behind me. Now, if that’s not exceptional customer service..... wait, there’s more. The following morning Teresa called me and said I was thinking about you all night and hoping things went well and you made it safely. My heart is so full of gratitude for the blessing I received from a complete stranger, not withstanding a business. I will refer friends and family to this business whenever I can!

Great place, honest service, and quick too. A tire, and oils change together took roughly an hour. Always kind people. Would recommend.

I had an appointment at 11:00 to have the tires aligned on my vehicle. Took it there at 10:45 never heard anything so I called around 1:00They still were not done, the lady that I spoke to was very rude, raising her voice at me on the phone saying, “ma’am it’s going to be a bit longer.” I told her I didn’t realize a tire alignment took over 2.5 hours. She said we will call you and hung up. I finally received a call at 2:00 to come and pick up my vehicle. Poor customer service and takes way too long to perform a scheduled task.

Be weary. Used to be long time customer. Not anymore. No faith in their word or quality of service.The GM that was supposed to follow up per their response, im still waiting. My car was damaged and the part to be installed was also damaged. I see the GM is as effective as the Radford store is at fixing cars, not damaging customer cars, and being honest.

We had a sudden tire problem on the interstate on our way to Pennsylvania and called a couple of different places, none of which could get us in. We called Thompson tire and they got us right in and had two new tires on in less than 20 minutes. The people there were so nice and very helpful. Well definitely remember this shop and the excellent service we received.

I got a flat that couldnt be repaired and decided to just get new winter tires for all 4. I got the tires on order Tuesday, and they arrived Wednesday as planned - except they were the wrong tire.I blame Michelin for this party, the tires I wanted were MPS A/S 3+ for a 215/45/17, but they sell that size in 2 different speed ratings. On the phone, Tim had confirmed the correct speed rating I wanted, but the other ones arrived. Ordered the correct tires Wednesday and they came in Thursday as expected.Took about 2 hours of waiting / working to get the tires on, which isnt really a problem. I always try to drop my car off early in the morning and not wait on it, but since the tires were delivered later in the day I ended up waiting.The popped tire was under warranty, and the employees were great about dealing with the special paperwork and phone call stuff I had to do in order to get my claim through.One of my valve stem caps was changed, but I was careful to inspect everything before leaving and we found it quickly.After getting home I checked all the lugs, and they are a bit over-torqued but not too bad. The tire pressure on the OEM tires is supposed to be 35 psi, but after checking they were all over from 34 to 40 - which is not a huge deal for most people.The people were nice and Im happy with the service I got, but if I could Id give like 4.5 star just because there were minor little things I had to tweak. Guess Ill just have to round up to 5 for them this time!

Awful. I went for an inspection and they tried to find everything under the sun to fail me. They failed me for a marker light out, got home and checked them and they were all perfectly fine. They told me they hoped I had a “deep pocket” because the issue with my truck was going to cost about $800. I took it straight home to my dad who’s mechanic and he said bull. I guess they like to pick on young girls who don’t know what they’re doing or older women. Gross.

They flushed my radiator for $180 stopped up my heater core charged me $480 to flush it and it hasnt worked since they wont try to flush again Theresa the rude mng says I need a new heat core. Dont risk it

My son was a little aggravated. Wanted to get my vehicle aligned and tires rotated for my Christmas. Called and i was told to come get my car and the tires had not been rotated. He lives and is a diesel mechanic in Nashville Tennessee. The female that answered the phone argued with him about what he had ask them to do. Not happy .

Service has been pretty poor everytime Ive come by here. They act like its a burden to do anything. I used to come here a few years ago and the crew then was great. Dont know what has happened, but I dont appreciate being treated like an inconvenience when Im trying to be helpful to a friend that wants their car serviced here.

I was told it would be a 3 hour wait for state inspection. Because of prior engagements I told them I couldnt wait that long and would have to take the vehicle elsewhere. They suddenly managed to bump me to the front of the line and I waited less than 45 minutes.

Hands down the best auto maintenance bunch in the business! Fast, friendly, and as accommodating as they can be. They even solved a problem that eluded both PepBoys and a local dealers crew, and continue to impress me! Your wallet will smile too!

I had them check out my Mazda 3 that would not start. I live in northern VA and my son goes to school in Radford U. Since I dont know the area too well, I used them sight unseen. They conducted a diagnostic test and determined that the cars main computer was bad. Rather than charge me for the test, which they could have justifiably done or try to fix something that was not their area of expertise, they said no charge and recommended a nearby dealership for the specialty fix. Wow. Its very refreshing to deal with such an honest group who truly had the best interest of the customer in mind and not trying to squeeze out a dollar. I would go back to them any time - having friendly people you can trust is worth my business any day.

Never bring your car here! I needed an inspection (mine expired) and brought it in saying I needed it asap for an inspection and oil change. Hadnt received a call but only had a ride to pick it up and had to work at 11am. So I gave them 1.5 hours and waited for 30 additional minutes in their waiting room for them to tell me they only did the oil change and would have to help another customer with their inspection and other work before being able to complete my inspection.

TERRIBLE!!!I had them do a transmission service and a overall safety check on a recently purchased older used vehicle.They diagnosed it with a gummed up carb and did a very expensive chemical flush which did not seem to fix or improve throttle response.I took the vehicle to another mechanic a month later and he tells me the transmission cover is leaking fluid around the gasket (not opened recently), the fluid is dirty and burnt (as in its the same fluid that was in it when I purchased it), there is 3 times more transmission fluid in it than should be (as in they just added more fluid and told me they serviced it), one of the brake shoes are installed backwards (safety check, anyone?), and the catalytic converter is clogged up which is causing the poor throttle response (gummed up carb, no? NO).I wasted a lot of valuable time and money getting ripped off by Thompson Tire.

I was in the area after leaving the lake. I had a flat and pulled in to Thompson Tire. The service was great.

Awful service took for an oil change and tire rotation said that my alternator was bad and I needed brakes had them just do what was originally agreed on and took to a different shop for second opinion and said that everything was fine I am an older women and I have to rely on people to do this stuff for me and I hate to see what they try to charge people who dont get a second opinion and take advantage of old women plus the lady with long brown hair up front I delt with wouldnt stay off her phone long enough to help me took 20 mins to schedule an appointment and she was very rude i dont remember her name Hope to use them in the future but if nothing changes then i wont be...
