I visit Buff + File frequently and am always pleased with my experience. All the nails techs have clean workspaces and tools; I love that the salon does not smell like acetone or chemicals. The staff ALWAYS make me feel welcome and refer to me by name, which is a nice touch. This level of professionalism is what takes regular everyday customer service to CLIENT services. The prices they charge are comparable to other facilities in the area. Many colors and brands are offered in their nail polish selection. There is certainly something for everyone! If you havent experienced Buff + File yet I suggest you do!

Made an appointment for me and a buddy to get sport pedicures before our big game. My nail technician, Andie, was on time, professional and did an amazing job. My feet have never felt better. The salon was super clean and I will definitely be back.

I have been in the industry since I was 18, now at 48 having been a nail tech, an instructor, a licensed colorist/ stylist, and demonstrator for multiple brands. So within 30 years of experiences I have been to a lot of places. Yesterday, I had one of the all time best experiences at a nail salon. Also I think that term is not efficient enough of a title. This is soMuch more than a salon. From its tasteful decor, welcoming staff, extensive yet not overwhelming polish selection, to its offering of services and it’s knowledgeable staff! Legit, this place is worth the visit! 2 locations in Portsmouth and super accessible. It was my pleasure to have a service done by Bri. She was kind, considerate, and STUPENDOUS at the services she provided. I’ve done 3 sinks of dishes since I’ve been home and my nails are still perfect! Thank you so very much! I will be back!

Very pleasant experience. I got there and Tasha helped me immediately and did a very good job and she was also very friendly and conversational. I got there a little late because I had trouble finding the place, but they accommodated me. My phone also was constantly losing its charge, and they helped me by giving me an extra charger during my pedicure. Overall I recommend if you are looking to get your nails done.

Katie was so friendly! This was my first facial and I really enjoyed it. I plan on making this routine with her. She knew all these answers from my face to my kids!

I went in to have acrylic nails removed and they were awesome! They did it fast and then gave me a gel manicure with an extra layer of Polish just to make sure my nails stayed strong. I mentioned I was running an obstacle course race and they told me that if I got a chip within 10 days they would fix it regardless of what I was doing. I just finished a 14 mile Spartan beast at Mount Killington and I dont have one chip on my nails! I would highly recommend them!

I had Samantha as my nail tech and she is incredible! I really needed the time to relax and that’s exactly what I got. So grateful to have them take me in last minute and really take great care of me!

I’ve been going to Buff & File regularly for the past 2 years and have always had a great experience. The nail techs are always personable, welcoming and amazingly talented! I’ve treated myself to a few special manicures for my own wedding and a friend’s wedding and the nail art was just stunning. If you like statement nails, you’re in good hands - they listen to you and understand your vision so you go home happy (and then you can’t stop staring at your nails 😆). With covid presenting new challenges, the team at Buff & File practices proper precautions to keep their doors open. I keep indoor activities to a minimum and Buff & File is one of the select few businesses in Portsmouth that I’ve frequented during covid because I feel so safe there.

What a fantastic experience I had at Buff and File. The staff was incredibly kind, personable and interesting. The quality of work done is incredible. I got a simple non-gel mani/pedi and my nail stylist spent SO long on my nails! She made sure my nail beds were all clean (after not getting a manicure for 8 months) and that the polish was perfect.I also got my eyebrows waxed and they look incredible!!!I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking in the Portsmouth area :)

I never really cared about my nails. I would get them done on special occasions but thats about it. Now I am in there every 2-3 weeks getting my gel done! I go to Katie specifically but everyone there is awesome! Can not recommend this place enough!

Not one to spend extra time on our feet ourselves, we got sports pedicures, as we didnt want polish but everything that comes with a pedicure. Friendly and chatty staff, clean, socially distanced, thorough. My feet look great!

Courtney did my pedicure and she was so nice and treated me like a regular. She was meticulous and didnt rush at all. She also avoided doing something that would have made them more money because it wasn’t good for my nails. I was very happy that they didn’t do harm just for more money! Plus my toe nails look great!!!

My daughter and I came here to get our nails done for a wedding. The space was an open concept, bright and inviting. They were able to book us at the same time and both girls were very lovely. I loved the copper foot baths! We had a great time and felt pampered and refreshed when we left.

I had a bonding day with my daughter and selected “buff and file nail bar“ for our special day. We had pedicures and manicures and we both enjoyed our time there. Both technicians were friendly and accommodating. We would choose buff and nail again.

They charged my card twice, and would not refund their mistake. My bank had to take care of this for me. The manicure was average.

Clean, professional environment - covid prevention taken seriously

My first visit was the day before my daughters wedding. Fantastic job! Although it was very busy, we did not have to wait more than 5 minutes.I received so many compliments! Thank you very much.

I went yesterday with my sister and the girl I got wasnt very friendly. Not approachable. I clearly explained that I wanted acrylics with gel and they said it would be easy.. I tried to confirm it with my girl and she said Oh we dont do that here. We just paint. I was told this after the whole process started. So she kept filing and doing whatever to my nails. Never asked if I wanted something else and wasnt friendly enough for me to feel comfortable speaking up. I spent $50 for nothing even close to what I asked for.

My work came here for our Christmas party and they were very professional and did a great job. Will definitely be returning !

Upon walking in we were greeted with a smile. The woman at the counter explained how our appointments would go. I was given a gift card by my kids for mother’s day but couldn’t find it. They have a great system and were able to find me in their records which allowed me to use my card!I am so sorry but I cannot remember the names of the 2 technicians my daughter and I had but they were both so friendly and sweet! I love the lay out, the natural light and the staff! As a practice manager for a dental office customer service and professionalism is very important to me. Small color selection, the staff acted snotty. Not very nice on inside, you just look at cleaning supplies and plastic containers filled with cleaner- I’m sure they could find a better place to put these things then right in front of the customer

A modern nail salon focusing on organic healthy manicures, pedicures and esthetics. The staff are very attentive and professional. And the touch up policy for chips on gel manicures is a nice bonus.

Horrible at pedicures. Such a waste of money. Chairs are so uncomfortable for a pedicure. My husband paid double for me to get a delux pedicure (65mins) and I was only given a 35 mins pedicure with no massage. Not very professionally run. If I could give less than one star, I would.
