I went online to make a reservation for a rental car. Google said they closed at 6. I go on the website and make the reservation for 2pm. I go to the location and drove past it twice because there was no sign. It looks kinda sketchy. Its on the side of an auto repair shop. The sign on the door said they closed at 2. So I never got to speak with anyone or get my car. I was late because I couldnt find it. Im going to try another location because this one seems very unprofessional.

Well, I cant say enough about the service I received here at this Hertz. I believe the young man that picked me up at toyota from Hertz was named Derrick. Hes only 23 (Im a little hard if hearing but I think thats correct) I believe he was the manager. He was very sweet and professional. He drove me to the rental office to provide me with a car. Horrible weather that day plus I had no idea where I was. I was very frightened about driving in the rain with no idea of the direction to get back to where I could find my way home. I live in Newport News but I was using the toyota dealership in Chesapeake for repairs on my car. Derrick listened to me and realized how frightened I was and explained that he would actually close the office and he would drive me back to the dealership and have his co-worker follow us so he could get a ride back. I cant tell you how much that meant to me. BIG THANK YOU DERRICK. Great customer service. I felt like a person and not just another customer!

Very unprofessional, dropped my car off at the shop like was told after hours didn’t picks the car up from the body shop until 2 weeks later kept getting a call saying my rental was over due when I called the place and told them I left it twice and they didn’t pick it up until I had to call another hertz to let them know it wasn’t picked up yet. Haven’t even received my 5o dollar deposit back, also never answer the phone I have to call Chesapeake to get in touch with this location

I dont use hertz, therefore I have no response.

I showed up within their hours as posted on their door. There were no signs it was closed for any reason, yet, it was indeed closed. The location sucks too. Door is around the side of some auto business. Theres no sign anywhere. So it is with my best observation skills that this location is out of business as of today. Please use the one in Chesapeake. Its actually decent compared to this one.

They dont even answer the phones during their listed business hours.

Was supposed to have an SUV.. only had a minivan available which was fine BUT.. got in and it was dirty and Stank! Not sure what happen in this van but the smell makes me nauseous. I even tried air freshener but it didnt help. I guess the insurance company must get a really good rate on rentals ugh! I would never pay to rent from Hertz.

NEVER WILL RENT FROM HERTZ EVER AGAIN. I had a rental car about a month or so ago because someone hit my car so their insurance company paid for it. When i picked up the car, the man said bring it back on HALF full since thats the way it was when i left off their lot with it. When i brought back the car, i brought it back on HALF full. The lady said to just give her the keys since she was helping out 2 other customers. Days later i was charged $173 for a gas bill charge. I called the actual Hertz place & even After they had PROOF that i brought it back on half full like the man said to. All 3 times i called to sort this out, they said ill get my boss to handle it. After talking to corporate, they said cant do anything about it. So end of the story they scammed me $173 and i would NEVER suggest renting from Hertz unless you like being scammed.

The service I received was great! The place is very difficult to find, no signs to point the way. The vehicle was not as clean as it should have been. There was food on the ceiling, lots of crumbs and cheese-its in the back seats, sticky soda on the inside of front and side windows, it could have used a car wash. It just wasnt cleaned very well at all. The vehicle was definitely much cleaner when I returned it!

Probably the most unprofessional, most uninformed staff on the planet. These people dont even know thier own policies. Do not use this place if you need a rental. Felt like the guy on the phone was trying to sell me a bag of weed instead of a rental car. Ill never direct any of our affiliates to use this corporation. Ever.

Convenient and very helpful service, not sure about the price structure but always have a car available unlike Enterprise Rental 1 block up from them. Easy to get a extension over the phone 👍

There is NO SIGN for this location, and its run out of a half-rundown warehouse. The only Hertz logo is a 2 x 4 logo on the door on the left side of the building. Seriously Hertz, make this location legit. For everyone looking for it, its between uhaul and the car dealership (on the left side of the dealership). If I were you, Id rebook for the much more legit Enterprise 200ft away.

This place is a dump, the employees were nice and quick just seemed like alot for only 2 people to handle with a wait of 4 people and picking up people in between. I wasnt informed my deposit was going to be 50$ Im use to Enterprise where its only 1$ I know Ill get it back, but 50$ is a decent amount to be sprung on at the last second when you need the car because yours is getting repaired.

My insurance made an appointment for me to pick up a rental car, but no one was there despite it being 3:30pm. No one answered the phone when I called hours beforehand and no one answered when I called while waiting for someone to come. Was told by a man in the building behind that the lady working should be back within 5 to 10 minutes. Waited about half an hour before giving up and going to the Enterprise right down the road. They said this seems to be a common occurrence. As others have said, this Hertz is hard to find as well as dingy and derelict.

Was charged for 1 week of rental after only having car for 1 night. Now trying to get the charge corrected has been a hassle. To elsewhere to rent.

Very few cars to choose from. The location is horrible. There is no sign and I walked around like an idiot outside looking for the door. prefer enterprise but due to insurance had to go with hertz. Staff was friendly but that is the only positive I can list.

Weve been renting from this particular location for about a year and we have come to believe that either this is a training facility or it is the Siberia of Hertz locations. We come to this belief because the place, frankly, is a dump. Its cold in the winter and hot in the summer (no heat or a/c)?)) and every couple of months theres a new person behind their little desk. And the poor person never knows the answers to questions. They always have to call their manager, who is, no doubt, tucked away in a nicely appointed, heated or a/cd office somewhere. And dont use the restroom. nuf said on that subject!The poor person behind the little desk usually tries very hard and is very apologetic ... but no matter how hard he/she tries, the rental experience at this location to often leaves much to be desired and can be most frustrating. If we had to travel an additional 10 or 15 miles for a more pleasant experience we would. But this is it for reasonably close locations. You would think that the Hertz Corporation would know better.

Zero Stars! This place had the worst Facility and Faculty I have experienced when renting a vehicle. I successfully called to reserve a vehicle a few hours before pickup. When I showed up the person I had spoke with was gone, the store was closed with a messy note on the the door and a number to call. I called the number and spoke with the sales rep who then told me my reservation was no good because it was within 48hrs and that there weren’t any available vehicles because it was Easter Weekend. I paid $30 for an Uber to take me to the Hertz Rental. There were 4 vehicles in the parking lot and there was no explanation given as to what happened to my reservation.

Horrible!!!!! I have State Farm insurance, Im assuming Hertz is cheaper than Enterprise because in the past when Ive had accidents thats who Ive dealt with. Vehicles are horrible. I called to ensure I had a vehicle waiting because I like e an hour and half away and they have one for me, when I get there they cant rent it to me because the oil had to be changed... now Ive received 3 charges to my checking account and no one can tell me why or how let alone get anyone to answer the phone not to mention the staff at the Airline Blvd location is extremely rude!

NEXT TO EARLSThis must be a new location as of July 2016... There is NO SIGN to show where Hertz is. I found Enterprise and they gave me directions. There was literally a young guy at a crappy desk with Hertz newly painted on the wall.To top it all off, the guy had to go pick someone up and being the only employee he put a piece of paper with his number and a return time. Not very professional and I felt bad for the guy being all alone. Hertz needs to step up their game in this location because Enterprise will slay them.

Never again i came to return car at 8am amd waited til 815am no one was present i called and another locatiilon answered amd said they wont be in til 11am like what the hell ! And it was trashy and they lied on my bill and said i didnt return the car til 11am

Poor location. No dropbox (make sure to turn in within business hours). Crappy cars to choose from. Poor customer service. Staff is not well trained. They do not have spare keys for any of their cars.Personal experience: They charged my credit card three separate times for 3 different amounts without explanation. The emplyee from this location coud not even pull up my receipt/contract so I had to call another location to do it. Overall, I had a terrible experience. Never renting from this location ever again.
