Tina is a miracle worker! She brought my hair back to life and was able to use her extensive knowledge to help me find a cut that worked best for me and made my hair look thicker than it has ever looked! Her facial services are also a dream! They are very relaxing and my skin has never been so clear! She gave amazing advice on how to keep my skin healthy and clear and my hair healthy and growing! I will never see another stylist again as nobody else has ever compared! She is also amazing with children! When my daughter decided to chop her hair off with play scissors Tina did an amazing job not only fixing her hair but helping her understand that she shouldn’t be cutting her own hair. I will also be bringing my children to her from now on as well ❤️

The website is a little wonky but MY WORD, what a wonderful operation. The place is really nicely decorated. Tina is an absolutely wonderful person. The prices are reasonable and the hair cut and treatment even for a dude getting his hair and beard done was amazing.When she said do you want your eyebrows trimmed just a little I almost had a full belly laugh... yeah my wife would kill me if I didnt get them at least a little trimmed.Shes got an attention to detail and a wonderful personality. I would recommend her to anyone that asked. I will be going back.

Tina is absolutely phenomenal! She takes the time to learn your hair style and type and preferences. She is the first stylist to ever take the time to truly educate me on how to do my hair at home and take care of it appropriately for its type. Not only is she exceptional at her craft she is pleasant and easy to talk to. If you’re going to spend time and money with someone let it be her!

A hip, welcoming atmosphere where patrons, men, women & children alike, could have their hair cut in style with first rate attention from their superb stylists. Add to the hair services a place where students (mostly) could get their tanning needs met and they had a successful business model. The staff are very welcoming and fun to interact with. Tina Lee is a magician and her years of experience and peaceful nature set me right at ease when she colored my hair for the first time. I had had my hair colored many times before, but never with such dimension and shine. I left feeling like a new me. Take time out for yourself and make an appointment today. You will not be disappointed!

Id recommend this place for a mens cut, 10/10. I have a whole lotta cowlicks and Tina was able to work with them like a true pro (26 years experience). I used to go to Diyablo when it was in Durham and am happy to go a little bit further out of my way for great service. Excellent conversation, too!

Ended up having to wait for like 20 minutes. But hey, covid..... But this place is bomb! They just moved to Portsmouth and I love this building. Like you have your own private room with your stylist! Helps so much with my anxiety! And Tina knows how to work on every kind of hair. She did mine purple. This is my place from now on. No complaints at all.

Went and got my hair colored and cut. What I thought was a great cut *Even after having my hair screwed up in the color process* was horrible!! I was sent home with wet hair and when I got home and looked at the back I couldve cried. I had to take out scissors just to try and fix it and its still butchered. Absolutely horrible experience!! I gave the woman the benefit of a doubt after she turned my hair orange because I loved the color it turned out but after 4 hours I still got sent out with my hair looking jacked and unfinished!! I told her I hadnt been to a salon in a long time and then to walk out with my hair uneven and made to believe she made it even in the back was absolutely horrible. Ruined my experience for going to a salon all over again. Sucks even more because she made out like a bandit. Thanks for taking my money even though you knew it was a horrible job and not what I wanted.

As a guy its hard to locate a place you can get a good mens cut and not deal with the street guy cutting my hair. Barber shops are now on every corner but this place is a great family place for me and my kids. The ladies do topnotch work and no matter who I get its all good.

Tina is awesome. I told her exactly what I wanted and she did it. I usually leave the hair salon with mixed feelings, but this place gets me. I have been here 3 times and so far they have failed to disappoint. Complimentary beverage upon arrival. The whole staff is funny, kind and make it a joy to get your hair done. Love it!

I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed. No prices on the website. I call, and they wont give me a price, they say I have to come in to get a free consultation. Im not going to go into the salon, just to find out how much it will cost to wax my eyebrows. Absolutely ridiculous. Go to a reputable salon, that will tell you prices online.

Super concept, great execution! Ive been driving a few towns over for haircuts, and will likely continue but on a whim I poked my head in the door last week to check the new place out and was pretty impressed. Tina was very friendly and gave me a brief tour and then I chatted with barber Ryan about styling products. He offered me some good advice and, since we both had some time free, I settled in for a shave and beard trim. Relaxing and well done. Having a choice of excellent beverages ;) didnt hurt either. I loved the interior design; a contemporary vibe with some cool vintage throwback elements and a solid musical soundtrack to boot. Ill be looking for excuses to go back.... Thanks guys!

This place is brand new to Durham and its awesome. Ryan cut my hair; excellent haircut, reasonably priced. The place is very welcoming and all the staff members and management are always courteous and pleasant. Highly recommend.

They won’t give waxing price on phone or website. It feels like they will just charge you whatever they feel, and because they don’t put the price anywhere you have no comparison. Don’t get ripped off here, go somewhere where you know you will be charged fairly

I have called Diyablo Hair & Body Spa & this place is always booked up, So I stopped in on my lunch to see and no surprise the place was full of tanners plus each employee was cutting hair. I asked for an appointment and got a complementary drink plus a free consultation. Ill start off by saying I was never a customer here.I had recieved an add on FB from this shop and after accepting I noticed they post ALOT of help wanted adds. Makes sense to me now after them asking for my resume and then taking days to get back to me. Twice. I wrote them after I had sent the resume to set up a time and waited for a reply. Nothing. I sent another thinking maybe it hadnt gone through. They finally got back to me 2 days later and asked to set up a time. I had a couple questions that werent answered and again had to email asking if such and such time was okay. I did the back and forth 4 times with DAYS in between. I felt they were super unprofessional and Im glad I got a taste before joining and learning later down the road. You just dont treat anyone like that in my opinion.

Tried calling them to figure out their pricing for waxing, but they dont give prices over the phone or online. I dont have time/access to a car to come in for a visit unless Im going for an appointment, and Im not going to book something when I dont know the price.

Tina cut my hair and it is obvious that she is experienced and knows what she is doing. She cares about her customers as well.

Got a haircut a while back and it was good but recently tried to set up an appointment and the person on the other line was very confusing and rude and had to put me in the system multiple times

The A-frame sign outside says Barber Shop Open and they leave it out, even on days when theres no barber. False advertising. Walked inside, no customers in sight, just 3 employees talking and drinking coffee. The first thing they said were booked until Tuesday! Hope they figure a few simple things out and make it, but theyve got a long, uphill climb.
