Half of the washing machines are regularly out of order but I can usually find at least one machine. Unfortunately I will not be returning after this load is done because I found a COCKROACH climbing up my basket after setting it on the floor for maybe two minutes. I told the attendant and she mumbled something inaudible through her mask then went to jot something down. Not sure what that means although some communication would have been appreciated.

It was great very the young woman who works at sunshine laundromat is very polite and very helpful and awesome service its nice and clean and awesome machines and people are very friendly I will be going back to do my laundry there again!

Hands down worse laundromat exercise of my life. So many of the machines were out of order, one washer left my clothes soaking wet and everything (including the not soaking wet clothes) took FOREVER to dry, easily spent over $15 and an hour just trying to get my clothes to dry eventually I just left with semi wet clothes. This was all for a out 6 loads of laundry. Will never some back.

Pretty pricey but they do at least have an attendant on site and they will comp you for issues if they arise. I wish they were 24hr. Their card system is pretty cool every time you put 20 on it you get $2 bonus and points and 500 points gets you a $5 bonus. The 13 load washers are rad even if they are priced starting at $12(I think thats right) you dont have to add soap or anything to those ones and they spin your clothes damn near dry. Also they have a bunch of super awesome giant dryers that cut your dry time in half.

Well maintained machines and very clean place been there several times and always get my laundry CLEAN and DRY the first go round and spend less then I would going to another place definitely going to be my usual laundry mat from now on.

Great large washers and dryers that hold seven loads and up to 90 lbs. Extractor was awesome and cut dryer time in half. Staff on site for useful services. Bought a five dollar laundry bag and its awesome, also plastic bags were a dollar a piece and well worth it!

Good washing very clean place safe for kids over-all.

I love the chick that closes if it wasnt for her my bday would have been a complete bomb &I would have felt outa place and have dirty clothe still...thankz chick !!

I’ve been going here for years with my family. While maybe not the cleanest environment (which I believe is more to do with the transients in the area) washing my clothes here has always been a pleasant experience with exceptional staff. During the pandemic, they ask customers with cars to sit in them to help stop the spread which is a nice touch.

Pretty great washing, for the price ( $3.50; cold; warm or hot ). The drying times for a quarter...is about correct. [ 7 minutes for a quarter ].

Clean, inexpensive and most machines have the option to pay with debit card, clothes get clean and dry! Keep on rockin!

Good that they have some onesie attentive on sight. Been going there over 20 years. Decent price for getting your loads done too.very clean.

Most of the machines [ washers & dryers ] are up to date. However, the environment is not well kept. The laundromat is a 👍 Great alternative [ affordable ].

Nice place, super helpful staff, I came here specifically for the extra extra large washers in the back, and they did not dissapoint, Saved me time and energy. They cost $15 to run but I would end up paying the same in smaller washers anyway. The dryers also didn’t take as long as some other places I’ve been.

I enjoy going to sunshine Laundry on Glisan and 79th. Especially between Saturdays and Wednesdays those are the best days to go. There is the young lady who works there in the morning, Who actually puts the (sunshine in sunshine)!! She Makes everyone feel welcomed just as long as you wear your MASK !!!!

Only giving one star because ZERO STARS is not an option!!Went there at 9:55 pm and was told that we couldnt wash even one load even though a wash only takes 35 minutes and they dont close until 11. We explained that we had a wedding to attend the next day and need to wash just one load and not even dry it. But we were told that the machines were already wiped down so we could not use them. The place is actually kind of a dump most of the machines have out of order signs on them, plus it was filthy with garbage everywhere. The attendant was very rude to us, swearing at us and giving us dirty looks.

A really nice place to wash large items such as sleeping bags, coats and lunky things like shoes.

Points system on cards are awesome. The big washers & Dryers make getting laundry for a family done quickly. Employees are always friendly & courteous.

Enough machines to get the job done even when its busy. They host a Laundry Love on Thursdays from 6pm-8pm (i think?), which is a movement geared toward making the Laundromat accessible to those who may not normally be able to access it financially. Everything is provided and all they ask is that you pay what you can afford.

Got my clothes stole!!! the girl work here do nothing to help she said this is 2nd time that it happened. So it happened to someone else before but they do nothing to prevent it from happening???? worst place ever.

Ive been coming here for a while now but am fed up with the ridiculous amount of machines that are constantly out of order.. also they never clean the LINT out of their dryers.. everytime I dry my clothes here, they end up having a ridiculous amount of lint on them!

I get in this place expecting to find a good and spacious washer machine, and the most of good ones was marked as OUT OF ORDER.🤔

Im disappointed, half the machines were out of order and the was usually dirty. This is out of the norm for this place. The employees as always are friendly and helpful

They have the two biggest industrial sized washers I have ever seen super great for sleeping bags super oversized comforters its like a 9 loader or bigger i put 3super thick queen sized comforters in them it costs 1500 to run but worth it. However thats all that and the dryers on the wall next to them are bomb as far as the rest of tbe washers 3/4 of the rest if the washers broken. I only go tbere for comforters and the like.

Staff was friendly, place was clean and they have ginormous washers. Would be better if ALL of the machines work, but it really wasnt a problem when I was in there.

While the ever declining self service laundromat business may be struggling even further during Covid 19, Sunshine is open and allowing customers to do their own laundry rather than only offering more expensive employee wash & dry like some others. Place is clean, employee friendly, and plenty working washers/dryers. Great place to support while they are supporting!

Im not reviewing to give a bad rating, its to share my off & on experience with this laundromat. I started coming here when a older man & woman worked here. I stopped coming here because they were extremely disrespectful to POC. They would constantly yell & scream at Black & Hispanics people.I decided to give it another shot, and it was still bad. This time the problem was a weird hyperactive, frantic white woman. Ive witnessed a shaky situations in this laundromat. Theres no such thing as the perfect laundromat, but this place had suspect characters all over it when particular employees worked.My work schedule changed, I started coming in during the day. Totally different environment, for the better. Nothing that looked like drug activity, and no zombies all over the place. That man & woman wasnt there, having pleasant conversations with white people, but yelling at the top of their lungs, at people of color.

On Glisan st. They have a total of 2 outlets available for charging phones. Free WiFi, and are dont give me trouble for having my large dog with me.

I hadnt been to a laundromat in 20 years and wow, things have changed. The attendant had to help me like 5 times. She was very patient and helpful. Plus, two customers chimed in with suggestions. Ill be back for sure!

At least half of the machines are always broken. Customer service is what youd expect from a laundromat near 82nd. Its not the best or worse.

Facility was no so clean and the guest just hanging around were not the safest, I’m prepared but for those who are not it could be dangerous. The worker wasn’t so nice and her area looked like a cell. I thought I was in the prison laundry room.

Ive been going here for a few months now, and havent had a bad experience yet. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I witnessed one staff member go into the back area of the store, find some blankets, wash and dry them, then she gave them to a homeless man so that he and his nephew wouldnt freeze that night.

Ive been coming here for almost 2 years now not the greatest neighborhood but its very convenient considering I live around the corner because of certain people they close the restaurant to the public even know they know me as a hard working tax paying citizen who has helped their employees fix their equipment when Im here The owner told me I could use the am PM restroom almost a mile away I Would rather drive across town at a nicer facility with a quipment the doesnt break on the weekly basis

The machines take debit and credit cards so you dont have to get a bunch of quarters before laundry. Although they do have a change machine if you do need quarters. And you can purchase a laundry card on premise with cash credit or debit to use there instead of feeding machines with quarters. Lots of options of machines to use and laundry soap for sale or just drop your laundry off for them to wash dry and fold and pick up the same day!!! About 20$ for a couple loads!! 😃😃

I have been going here off and on since 2001. It’s had its ups and downs throughout the years, but I will always love this place. So many fond memories with the staff. PCommenter about the owner turning the heat down on the dryers is a crock o’ sh!t. You can’t do that in those dryers. Call any commercial company. You may have gotten a dryer needing service, or, use the big dryer for $2.50. Takes 20 minutes. Quit yer complaining!

Beware - they set the temps on their dryers low so even on high temp setting it takes twice as long to dry clothes, which means you spend twice as much money. Also, washers are expensive and dirty.Loved waiting for almost an hour and half for my clothes to dry. (And no, I didnt overload the dryers and yes, I used multiple dryers all with same result.)Wont be going there again.

It was clean, they have new 95lbs washer and dryers and they accept vouchers from community advocates for the homeless or in need. Perfect small town business in a big town setting

Theres several reasons I love Sunshine Laundry. Besides the warm, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. They have large washers that are perfect for my busy family and cut down on time I spend on laundry altogether! :) they work within the community and aide in a big way to the homeless by offering vouchers thru local non-profit. I have been on both sides and that meant a lot to me. Now I go there weekly and pay a little more than $1 per load using the large machines. Lastly, the honest hardworking staff deserve to be complimented in their areas of Customer service. I recently left a large bag of wet laundry and not only did they still have it the next day, but they went over and above and dried my clothes for me so they wouldnt mildew. Thanks again. I appreciate yall :)

Of all the laundromats Ive used in Portland, this one is on par with most all of them. They dont have text notification like a few competitors, but they do have a good number of machines in sizes ranging from small to gigantic. The staff are friendly and helpful, and PRESENT unlike many other laundromats Ive visited.I frequent this place, despite on site laundry at my apartment.

Its clean, medium drama (location) and the management is good about keeping everything on the up and up. The machines work well, the dryers are efficient. You can drop your dry cleaning or laundry to be done for a fee.

Its a very busy place but there are plenty of machines for almost everyone. Im not sure if the staff there has been through a lot or if theyre just naturally mean. But I enjoy them lol. They do not put up with anything! Its a great place to go. Its clean and the machines are quick.

More broken machines than working machines. Out of 17 people in the building only 5 of us had masks on. Employees seemed to be hiding in the back.

Meh. Its not horrible? I found the staff to be cranky and exhausted. Maybe management needs to provide more staff. The machines were clean enough...I guess. But the staff had zero patience for people who dont speak English as a first language. Its very confusing in those tight quarters and people would ask the cranky lady questions and shed bark at them. I was there on a Friday night. It wasnt that packed, but the lack of space made it SEEM very crowded. Price wise...very expensive. I went to the Hollywood Spin laundromat. Cost the same maybe slightly more and you get more room, a free sanatize cycle to clean out the machine, fast dryers and a text from your machine when its done.Id say Sunshine needs work.

I used to enjoy this place to do my laundry. I went in to get quarters and back to my car to get my laundry. The staff are extremely rude and to imply loyal customers are anything other than customers is downright rude. I understand people may come in for other purposes but the rude actions of the staff have caused this place to lose my business. I will be sure to never be back.

My favorite laundry mat in portland. One time, while sitting in my car waiting for my clothes to wash, I saw a man and woman arguing about something in their vehicle on the street. They were walking around and removing baskets from the vehicle. The argument escalated until one person was hitting the other with a spatula while the other swung a knife. At this point was scared but a policeman arrived and calmed everyone. Then, my wife went inside to pit the clothes in the dryer. While she was inside, several people approached the policeman and requested his help. As he was trying to detain the original fighters, a man with a 6 ft hay rake rounded the corner on Glisan. He had been swinging the rake at scooterists. More police arrived just in time to subdue and arrest the rakist. It was crazy.
