Due to some scheduling issues with another barber shop I go to, and needing a cut, I tried out Union since I walk by it frequently. I scheduled a cut with their first available and landed with Erin. She was great and it may be one of the best cuts I’ve had. She took her time getting my fade nice and blended and spent her time with my beard trim and shape as well. I will definitely be back to see her again!

By far the best experience Ive had ever with a stylist. I called before and Ashley answered and I told her my situation and she said Ill take care of your son, I knew in my heart she was the one. When we got there we had no wait time. And all my worries flew right out of the door. Ashley was awesome. Top of her game!!! Excellent. And now will definitely go back . We are Union Barber Co. Challenging to know how to review. Erin cut my hair. While the cut is high quality, it is nothing like what I asked for in length. I grew my hair for over a year and made clear that I wanted to keep almost all the length on top/up front. I showed her a photograph for reference. I ended up with a pretty simple taper with a bit longer top than usual. She took off about 2 and a half inches more than I asked. Again, its not a bad haircut, but for $45 plus an expected minimum 25% tip, Id expect a little more attention to client desires/expectations. Perhaps its partially my fault for expecting something a bit outside of the realm of a traditional mens cut. Likely wont return.

Walked by the other day and saw this shop. I went to Google Maps and booked an online appointment. I book the appointment for the #4 Hair - Line up, since I recently had a major haircut. I recently bought a new Panama Hat and wanted to look sharp.After some Covid protocol, Jordan cut my hair. He was very thorough, and did a hot towel neck shave. After the shave the cocoa butter and Witch Hazel was an added bonus, along with the neck and shoulder massage.Super pleased with the haircut. Ill be back and next time Ill get the full shave.

Man Abe gives me a 5 star cut every time. You can tell they were slammed and he was really busy but the cuts are consistent. The vibe of the shop is awesome and all the other barbers do fantastic work too, im just here to give a shout out to Abe that gives me a quality cut, consistently, each time, no matter how busy he gets. I got a straight edge shave last time I was in Portland which was over a year ago, very good would have liked to book another appointment however they only do online and I refuse to book if I cannot do so by phone.Can someone please explain to me how covid19 spreads through phone call bookings and how online bookings prevent to spread?Lets just be honest and say we dont want to deal with answering the phone and having a person to person conversation, not even for the two minutes that it would take to book an appointment

After moving away from the barber my husband had been using for 6 years, we were really worried about finding a new place. Jordan Sweet is absolutely AMAZING. He knows his craft well & always does an amazing job. This place is a little pricey, but its 100% worth it. Never a botched cut, but even moreso-- he cuts it with a plan so that it grows out well and less trips back are necessary.

I’ve taken some time to write this review and wanted to be as accurate as possible as reviews are important this day and age.I’ve gotten my hair cut here a few times and each time it was almost about how I asked it to be done. Which I can’t complain that much about. But it wasn’t as clean as I wanted. What I mean by that is the top of my hair was choppy and I had a bit of a hangover on the side when I asked for a clean translation. The lines of my hair were choppy too when I asked for a smooth transition there too. I had asked a time or two to “touch up” where I felt the flaws were. But was just uncomfortable asking more than a few times so I just left and dealt with the haircut and waited till it grew back. So I decided to try another barber there, or at least I tried to have a go at another barber. I had made an appointment and called them two minutes prior to my appointment time to tell them I was right down the street. (I usually like to be a few minutes early, but was running a bit later). (And I was walking so I was going to be maybe a minute late). The guy who answered the phone was short, rude, and basically informed me that if I’m going to be late then the barber was going to have to move on. Which I understand. But I was going to be there at 531 instead of 530. And he gave me such a hard time. That I just cancelled my appointment because I felt uncomfortable.Also I sent my friend here to get his haircut. And his barber told him “I wonder when this haircut will get out of style, in over cutting it”Maybe adding that on top of the sub par haircuts pushed it over the ledge for me. But hey I went to Throne Barbershop and got an amazing hair cut!!!!!!

I did not have one piece of hair in my collar or one hair out of place when I left the shop. Clean & professional. Would go back for every cut if I could.

The staff are brilliant. Theyll make you laugh. Christine gave me a great cut. Previous reviews are bang on. Good selection of complementary drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone from Ireland (like myself) or the UK who just moved to town and is looking for a good barber. Union wont disappoint. Be sure and book your appointment first, though.

Great experience! The scotch was nice on a cold evening and the staff are very friendly. They did a great job on the shave and actually had lots of tips for home care which helped me out a lot. You can tell they want to do right by people and it shows in the service. Highly recommend Devin or Matt!

I have been coming here since before the huge kerfuffle with owners and the change of brand. Throughout all that, the quality has only increased. Fantastic cuts, exactly how you like it, with people that know what they are doing and are able to offer stylistic recommendations should you require it. They go the whole 9 yards, cut, straight razor shave, styling, and even a classic vibration massage, with complimentary whisky (other drinks available) to boot. Expect to be there about 40 minutes to an hour, and schedule ahead because this place is booked! An experience worth having.

Like most new barber customers, my previous one had messed up bad causing me to no longer trust anyone with scissors. While out taking care of errands I stopped in here at random to deal with the ever growing problem. From the start, I was impressed by the level of detail and effort that went into the little hair that I have left. Blake (who has transferred) gave me one of the best haircuts I have had and at the end, I really did not know it could look so good. The price is above average and so is the time, effort, and amount you can drink. Schedule your haircuts for after work when you are headed out, you wont be disappointed.

Fantastic, just fantastic. Came to make small amends to the beard, ended up doing a lot more. Great attention to customer requests, technique used (including combination of hot/cold towels for rasage), advice and recommendations on follow up care for the beard and hair. I am usually going to quite expensive hair salons in my home city of Moscow, and I greatly regret we do not have anyone of the quality of Union Barber Co in here.

This is my first time with a straight razor shave and beard trim. It was awesome! Highly recommend.

Good haircuts but if you’re running late by 10min or more they can’t get you in and if you have an appointment expect to wait 20min or more. Not impressed. Had an appointment today at 350pm and left at 415pm with little acknowledgement of the delay.

After one of the worst haircuts I have ever had at another local chain, I was pretty bummed. I did my research and chose Union Barber Co based on Yelp reviews. Also, these guys come from the former Modern Man and after that debacle a bunch of their barbers went their separate ways, Union Barber Co. being one of them. I was not let down!I have very difficult hair to cut and Christine did an absolutely phenomenal job. Everyone in the shop is super welcoming and you get a beer/cider/whiskey/tequila/coffee/root beer on arrival. The haircut comes with a straight edge shave to neaten things up and a good smelling aftershave.I have definitely found my local barber and I will be going back as long as I am in Portland.

Dissapointed... went here on referral after no success at trying to find a Hot Shave/Straight blade at 3x Barbers in Portland...A) Rough not smooth result... i.e. feels like a 5 oclock shadow immediately after 2x shaves... what gives...?B) she trimmed the width/length of my handlebar moustache without checking ... too late to object after the fact...C) tip options start at 25%... really?
