I started using Green Drop, Moreland location 6 years ago. I have lived out of state for a couple years and when I returned, I signed up for the Maintenance membership. They have replaced lights and also windshield wipers at no charge with the membership. Recently, I needed tires and a major gasket replaced. This last visit was going to be expensive no matter where I had it done. Joe and James helped me set up the appointment and arranged for the after hours drop off. Their courtesy and communication was stellar and I feel they took the time to identify and complete the work that was necessary. I was informed of another gasket issue I may have but it was not as time sensitive. I would recommend Green Drop to anyone who is not mechanically inclined but cares about the maintenance of their Not So New vehicle (like mine).
Scheduled an appointment for an oil change a week out. Was very clear I had a large vehicle and wanted to make sure there were no issues. Got child care coverage and took time away from work. Drove there and they wanted to keep it all day and couldnt ensure it would even get done. Might be a great shop but I wont be going back.
I have lived all over Portland and therefore have gone to many different garages to fix my car. Green Drop Garage is still the only one I can confidently go to and feel taken care of. They staff is friendly, personable, caring, and always explains everything to me. I never feel taken advantage of or swindled - always the opposite! I am so grateful to be living in their neighborhood again!
I have had their membership before, and now after a few years later I returned. I made the appointment online as well as signed up for their maintenance plan on the website. I have never been disappointed with this shop. James G. helped me and took the time to answer all of my questions. Im very glad to see they are still open and very much up to speed with Doing Business After Covid.

Very helpful staff that’s always taken care of us. It’s easy to schedule appointments and they’ve helped me out when I needed work done quickly. I really appreciate that they give honest quotes for the work that needs to be done without any bs. They know their stuff and don’t talk down to their customers. We put both of our cars on their monthly care plan nearly a year ago, and we love it!

Came here about a month ago to have coolant leaks checked out and repaired, originally, the front of the desk was friendly and lured me in with all the ooooh were paperless and sustainable jargon. Got my hoses replaced with OEM ones and a total coolant system flush (about $400+ total). After driving the car about 150 miles, I realized my coolant was still leaking so I decided Id come back and inquire about what the problem could be. Wasnt trying to be hostile or accusatory whatsoever. I simply did not know what the issue could be so I wanted to come back and ask a pretty straightforward, Hey whats up with this? question. I was welcomed with a very defensive attitude and a what do you want me to do about it. They said theyd need to do more diagnostics/tests (fair), but Im just wondering as to why more diagnostics and tests would need to be completed when youd think they would have done them just as efficiently the first time. To be fair, I did deny two of their proposed services when I first brought in the car (brake fluid service, and a cleaning/dye check on the engine) Both of which I assumed wouldnt be essential to see what was going on with the coolant system. Its unfortunate that theyre so close to my college, but I probably wont be back. Come if you want maybe general service on your newer car, but its now a hard pass for me.
Well, suddenly there were issues that were never diagnosed by others and significant issues afterwards! GD changed the console, didn’t find a blocked differentia, leaking washer fluid and probably caused me problems when doing an oil change. after taking it there my gas capLocking mechanism was bent to not work forlocking the gas cap, my newer tires were bald in the back, as if my high performance car was used to spin out,it just so happens excessive spinning out can also break a differential. GD continuously said I had an oil leak but there’s never been evidence in my driveway and they failed to find a leak in the washer fluid container, or maybe GD caused it. Similar bad service happen d with a friend and what was missed could be significantly dangerous! This shop shouldn’t be in business.

GreenDrop are fantastic. I traveled across country from Maryland, and my car developed a slightly worrying noise. Greendrop did a complete check, and a road check. they identified a rubbing from the muffler, and suggested I get it fixed back home. and then they refused to charge me a dime. Remarkable.

Didnt have a great experience with these guys, sounds like my car was worked on by a less experienced staff member, the next morning when i tried to start my car the battery cables had been loosened to a point they disconnected and my car wouldnt start at all. I had to call roadside to come out and work it out for me. I then attempted to contact customer service twice - using the feedback forms they actually sent me to review the service and received no response...twice. Finally, the work they did on my car, relapsed 6 months later (last week). Looks like plenty of other folks have had good experiences so it was likely out of the ordinary, I wouldnt post at all, had anyone responded to either of my attempts at contact.
I have been using Green Drop Garage for several years and enrolled in the monthly service plan to have my oil change as well as have any issues looked at with no costs outside of a no cost membership fee. The membership fee costs less than if you went somewhere else and they do a much better job then anywhere else I have been. If things take longer than expected they will set you up with a ride. I have always been happy with them and recommend anyone to use their services. Couldnt be happier with Green Drop Garage. They can fix any issue with my vehicle and will not try to up charge or play games about doing it.
I love working with Green Drop. I feel they give me the straight and honest scoop on my car, without high pressure to do non-urgent or unnecessary repairs. They are great about keeping me informed on progress when my car is in the shop, and provided detailed reports on what was done and recommend service items. I also deeply respect the fact that they are a certified B Corp.

When diagnosing issues, they send a report with photos and an explanation - they provide accurate estimates and are honest about which repairs are more critical and which ones can wait. I also love that they are a certified B Corp (eco-friendly, meeting high standards of environmental guidelines and accountability).
Great, Friendly, Quick, Reliable - those are the first words that come to mind. I called ahead for an appointment - waiting for my vehicle to be serviced and completed. The people at Green Drop were phenomenal! Comfy waiting area, punctual on the service start time, quick to finish, at a fair price. The friendliness of the staff and amenities made the price seem even better! I am definitely going to be relying on Green Drop for all future periodic service needs as they are the best I have found.
Forget using this garage for DEQ plus. Made appointment for daughter to DEQ my car, since Im at risk. She came back, they turned her away, even with appointment. No phone call to cancel, nothing. Wasted half her day. And, they were rude about it. Never again.
Took my vw routon in for what should have been a simple front end repair. They replaced an engine bracket and told me master cylinder needed replaced. $1000. Problem not solved, next day needed 2 calipers, rotors,pads. Another $1000. Drove home and brakes drop to the floor. Front end problem not repaired. 3 days later my transmission breaks, no fluid? Be warned!!!!!
Love Green Drop! Both locations are a great place to visit. Be sure to get the oil change membership...its worth it! They truly care about their customers and I always enjoy bringing my vehicle here. Enjoy a beer or other beverage while youre here. I always ask for a free coffee card while at the inner SE location...its so sweet of them to offer this to customers. It makes my day!

Stopped by for an pre-purchase inspection on my 09 Subaru Outback. Everything from scheduling to pick-up went seamlessly. Noe and his team are very helpful and communicative. The $147 I paid was absolutely worth it for the peace of mind. They included a change of tail light bulbs because one burnt out, and they also saved some oil for an oil analysis as I requested. Being able to access the maintenance records online is nice as well. Ill definitely be back for future maintenance items!
Great customer service, and reasonably priced. Had radiator replaced and new front and rear breaks put on my Range Rover. They were $800 cheaper than the dealership and got us in within a day. Scheduling online is easy.

I can’t say enough good things about these guys. When my AC went out, I had it diagnosed at a Ford dealership. I received pretty crappy service and high prices so I decided to shop around for a different mechanic. The guys a Green Drop not only fixed my AC for me but they also worked with me to find ways to reduce the cost.The service was outstanding. All the work done was explained thoroughly, they walked me through the various options I had. Work was done ahead of schedule.Once again, can’t say enough good things about these guys. The whole team at Moreland Green Drop are amazing!I have been having the same persisting problem with my 2014 Ford Focus since the day I bought it. Ford could never diagnose it and would always send it back with no fixes. The car started acting up again, Green Drop jumped right in, diagnosed the problem and my car runs better than when I first got it.Highly recommend!!!
I will definitely be taking my business to Green Drop Garage in the future. Not only was my oil change less expensive than other garages, I went in thinking I might need a tune up. Following diagnostics, I was informed I wouldnt need one for many more miles. Their service and turn-around was great as well. Highly recommend!
Conversation was great and the car was fixed fast and efficiently. I had a weird light come on after that was unrelated to my repair but they spent 1.5 hrs doing a free follow up to make sure that my car was working and safe. The team was thorough and polite.Also, I have been doing the monthly payments that give me great benefits. I highly encourage it. Good for me and good for the environment. They offered me my own jar of Kombucha and DoTerra car freshener. What?! Amazing!

I love Green Drop! I trust them to to give me and accurate, honest assessment of my vehicle and stick to it. Theres even been time when theyve given me an estimate, which I was prepared to pay in full and the bill has been less! Plus, they take the time to give me plenty of advice and tips when I ask.

Guys. This is what a car garage should be. Dont fool around with other places. Ive taken both my car and my husbands in the last two weeks. My husband doesnt know much about cars and typically suffers from horrible anxiety when its time to take his car in. I am a licensed aircraft mechanic but suffer from being trapped in a female body with all of the typical assumptions that brings at many other garages--(Im looking at you Jiffy Lube on 82nd). Both of us had outstanding experiences at Green Drop.Green Drops approach to car maintenance is more akin to coaching than anything else which is way better than the arm wrestle I normally feel like Im doing when I get an oil change. They were able to identify a number of future problems that we need to address (with photographs!) and provide honest, helpful feedback on how critical it was to address those quickly or sometime in the next year. I never felt pressured and definitely was never man-splained. It was like talking shop with the guys at work...except I was just 26 year old woman to them. They never treated me like I was an easy mark.Their customer service was killer, especially Jake who dealt with my disaster of trying to use a coupon online. Theyll have my undying loyalty if all my visits are as painless and helpful, which I expect them to be. This is the kind of place where you can participate in taking care of your car regardless of your level of industry knowledge--theyll even help you learn more so you can be better engaged!
I signed up for their monthly Car Care Membership over a year ago and it has definitely been worth it for the unlimited oil changes/top ups/wiper blade replacements, especially as a driver who does quite a few thousand mile trips in my car each year. The guys at the shop are very up front about things I need repaired sooner, or later, and never try to sell me things I dont need. Plus, they have tea, coffee or kombucha for you while you wait :)

I dropped in their shop without an appointment and ask for a oil change with my materials. I was from out of town a leaving the next day home to Arizona. They made a slot for me and did what they said they would do and on time. My son who lives there will be going there now. Thanks for your fast service.
Update: GM contacted me and he was able to solved the problem and I have been driving for a week or two and it has driven much better and no light coming on. I appreciate the extra mile he went with the manufacturer and finding out that they had lots of problems with their converters for my car and similar year and models. I feel much more confident that this will stay fixed and all the research being done. If there are anymore issues on it, I know it’s still under warranty and I can come back again. Thank you.I have been patient with greendrop garage as a shop, but their repair on my mitsubishi lancer catalytic converter hasnt been resolved completely, I have had ongoing issues with this repair, since July 2017, I have tried to email them to look at it for a third repair and no reply to my email that was 11 days ago, I know I should call, but I have emailed them before and they have gotten back to me. I emailed them on 6/7/19, so they can see I did my diagnostic tool scan showing the same issue. I dont know if they are really busy and they dont check their email, I am busy as well and takes a lot of time rearranging to get a call out to them, especially with work. This review is lucky to get two stars at all, just because they did make a second attempt to repair the issue in the first place. This review is as a whole for Green Drop Garage, because I have taken the car to 2 locations (Central and Moreland). Just my opinion, it seems if you have a Subaru you might just do just fine with repairs. I have yet to find a decent shop here in Portland that can work on a variety of vehicles.
Such a nice waiting space. I made an appointment and they took me in as soon as I arrived. They did a VERY thorough inspection with photos then discussed about them with me and emailed them to me. I will be signing up for the service plan and make them my main mechanic.
Signed up for the car care membership in May and have brought my car in twice for routine maintenance. After the first visit, I was told that my tires needed to be replaced on next visit. I wasnt asked if I wanted them to replace my tires, I wasnt offered any options at different price points. I was simply told they would replace my tires next visit. Took my car to a well respected local tire shop a couple of months later and they pointed out that there was some uneven wear and the tires were three different brands (bought it as a used fleet car) but assured me I had thousands of miles left on the tires.When I brought my car back next time, I explained that I did not agree to getting my tires replaced but the employee I was dealing with simply took the note off the service appointment without ever acknowledging it never should have been added to the appointment without my explicit consent in the first place. Then when I came back for my car they told me there hadnt been enough mileage since the previous visit so they didnt actually provide any service aside from an inspection, yet when I later canceled my membership they charged me $5 extra because they claimed my membership fees didnt cover the service Id received, ignoring they did nothing aside from an inspection on the 2nd appointment. Ill gladly eat the extra $5 to get out of this car care membership.

This place used to be good when they offered the oil change punch card. Now they charge $120 for the same oil change and to “check” the car, unless you’re signed up for the monthly program. The dash lights that were on when I took it in are still on. I’m confused what they even did that would cost that much. Never paid $120 for a synthetic oil change + “labor.” They wanted to charge me more to do diagnostics on the dash lights which I thought were included in the $120 price. Probably a misunderstanding but the business could have done more to amend the situation or communicate better what I was getting when I asked for the ‘$120 maintenance package.’ I feel robbed and I will not be returning here.
Green Drop Garage helped us out of a bind before we left on our trip. They were professional, kind, and their expertise got us on the road quickly. We totally recommend them to others and love that they are green on top of it all!
EXCELLENT is all I can say. Everyone from appointment to service. After the third routine visit we signed up for the service plan. That has proven to be the best decision.
I was looking to buy a vehicle off of Craigslist, but couldnt be there myself to inspect it so I had my wife take it in for a pre-purchuse inspection.She had nothing but great things to say about her experience.The techs were polite, detailed and explained everything without being at all condescending. Maybe a little more expensive than other shops in the area, but they were pretty upfront about that. And honestly, they probably saved me thousands of dollars and a huge pain in the butt. Just wanted to leave a positive review and say thank you to the guys at the garage.

As a Lyft driver, I can really appreciate a good mechanic. Ive signed up for their service plan which comes to $18/month ($15 if you dont need synthetic) and Im getting all the oil, air filters, wipers, bulbs, fluid top offs inspections and tire rotations I can use without limits.Theyre professional and eco friendly. Also, I can see availability and schedule my appointments online.They are my mechanics and will be for the foreseeable future.
These guys and their business model are great, I only take our cars here now. They are super nice and they caught an error and didnt proceed with a replacement I didnt need. They saved me money.

They told me my water pump was going out/leaking from the weep hole. They showed me the green antifreeze leaking from the pump. Thats funny the truck has orange Dex cool. How could that be?

Quick turnaround and a 3yr/36000 mile nationwide warranty on all their work! Not to mention oil changes with recycled oil and a $15/month service that covers said oil changes and wipers/fluids/rotation.
$800 for new plugs and coils seems high. Then bumped the price another $90 for some gasket thingies. Also, broke the dipstick and made me pay another $15 to replace it. Id look around befor taking your vehicle here.
They consistently run late and have poor customer service. Compared to the other locations this one is the worst.

They dont just make stuff up to get your money because youre trusting them with your car.My sweet little 2009 Honda Civic had an awful smell and amen they checked it they found that there had been rats in the air filter. When I got that replaced they did like a full diagnostic and didnt conveniently find a bunch of stuff wrong which I have had other places do.They did tell me about a known issue that Honda had announced which caused a vibration on acceleration that I had brought up, they told me the suggested work, but also warned me that if it didnt work I would have a bigger more expensive issue on my hands. This is magnificent stand up service, beyond what Id expected to find after some of the experiences Ive had.Thanks Green Drop!
