I have been bringing my 99 4Runner here since 2016. They are always very honest and thorough when repairs are needed. I highly recommend them.

I work in the automotive industry and take my personal vehicles to Bens and refer quite a few of my customers to them as well. They are always quick and have done simple things like recharging my AC to replacing the transmission on one of our older vehicles. They prices are very fair and they know these cars inside and out.

Parking is tight, this is a small shop very easy miss if your not careful. Its an old style machinic shop, nothing fancy but the team there was very nice. I found them online and after checking out their website decided to give them a call. I definitely think I was lucky to find this shop. I dont know much about cars and found it hard to describe what I ne fed done. But Sean (I think that was his name) was patient and took time to help me talk trough it. He suggested a same day appointment. I came in he went over what I needed provided a fair price and was upfront about what parts of need, how much theyd cost and where hed get them. He took time to outline the process and I made a follow up appointment for the repairs. On the day of my next appointment I dropped my car off at 8am expecting to get it back in the afternoon but I had a call before 10 telling me my car was done! When Id left they had 3 cars they were working on and they got all done super fast. They take visa, MasterCard, discover and amex gpay and apple pay at time of my appointment. Everyone there was masked and they had sanitizer out. Im definitely going back. THANKS BENS JAPANESE AUTO CLINIC FOR MAKING EVERYTHING SO SIMPLE.

Got right in for automatic transmission rebuild. Honda factory parts, high quality supplies and fluids used here. Happy with service and fair price.

Ben is great. Hes serviced multiple vehicles for me and my family over the years, all Toyotas. His prices are fair, and the service and quality of his work have always been top notch. In a pinch, he even helped a close family member fix their car on Thanksgiving Day. If I could give him more than five stars, I would.

Wonderful experience!!! Service was great, and honest. Diagnosis was on point, and they revived my Outback. My car had major issues, and felt old and sluggish. They got my car running like new again. The Outback had never been in for any kind of service for 120k miles besides oil changes . They took care of everything that needed to be replaced, and nothing that wasnt necessary. Im a newer customer, and after what they did to my Outback, Ill definately bring my car to them whenever issues arise.

When the timing belt on my old lexus broke and seriously damaged the engine, I called nearly a dozen mechanics who didnt want to take on the job before I found Bens. It seems like he enjoys cars and is excited about fixing them. We took our car to Bens for other things over the years and theyve always been great. The whole team there was always nice to us. The prices are fair and reasonable and they stand behind their work.

I have an old Toyota most auto repair outfits dont want to try to repair or dont know how to fix or dont want the hassle of tracking down hard-to-find parts. Ben and his mechanics have the skills, know-how and work ethic to stare a beloved clunker in the grill and tell ya what can be done. Then do it well. Of course, they work on newer models, too! And, they waive any diagnostic charges towards repair costs if they do the work. My old gal is renewed!

Based on reviews on Google, I brought my 2004 Tacoma in to replace the steering pump after being quoted by the dealership an arm and a leg. Ben quoted me on the spot, at a fraction of the price (do note that they used a remanufactured pump though), and were able to replace the pump and hoses in a matter of a few days. Truck runs great and now and havent had issues since. Ben seems to be an honest guy with fair prices, and overall I had a really good experience. Would definitely come back for any issues that I cant fix myself.

Ben and Shaun and their shop are wonderful in every way. They do great work at reasonable prices. They are flexible and work you in if you have an emergency of some kind. Great, honest, and very competent. Cant do much better than that.

I needed a water pump and an alternator for a1995 Seville and Ben charged me $1,200! He may be a good mechanic but hes gonna charge you. Im never going back.

I have a Honda. decided to stop there when I drove by and Ben ended up doing the work on the ac compressor for a lot less than the competition. Another Google user reported that that doesnt speak perfect English. This guy is as American Dream as American Dreams get. he is an honest hardworking mechanic and he will explain the problem to you and even show you the old worn part.Ben and his son recommended work that needs to be done in a fair way and shows you the reason why.I challenge anybody to find a mechanic who actually does the work.... will take the time to talk to you ..... and give you a very fair price.The AC compressor that they installed works great and they even repaired and fixed another part that was broken. when they got under the hood they showed me the broken part and showed me why its broken.Im going to take the car back and have them replace the clutch which they quoted at about half the price is other places.Honestly I could care less if this guy speaks no English at all.. he still is a fabulous mechanic. (But he does speak English ... just fine)

I have been coming to Ben for over ten years he is always on point never misdiagnosed any of the jobs i brought him never oversold or forced anything on me very trustworthy mechanics hard to find nowadays and as for pricing the stuff that people write you get what you pay for everyone wants good right now and for free that does not happen! Do not take your car here unless you like throwing your money away. They say they sell parts for list price but its not the list price available anywhere you can find. They charge more than the a dealership! Ive had three different jobs quoted from them because they are local and their reviews are good, but after making just a few comparison calls, it became more than obvious that they price gouge on parts. Youve been warned. Educate yourself and make a call or internet inquiry or two before falling for these list prices.

I just took my 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante to here for the first time and was very happy with the end results. They did not try to say my car needed something that it did not, plus they did not charge a lot for there services. I will be going there if I need something in the future.

My 4runner drives awesome after taking it here. I will always recommend Bens shop to all my family and friends. I have complete confidence in this shop. I will never take my Toyota anywhere else.

I take my 93 and 97 Accords to Bens regularly. They always do quality work at a reasonable price. I now have a Toyota Highlander that I take there as well. Been using Bens for 3 years now. He loves to show you the difference in various parts and how they are broken. Disregard any racist reviews about his english.

Ive been taking my 88 Toyota V6 4x4 pickup to Ben for several years, and have been very happy with all his and the other mechanics work. The prices are fair, and the work is excellent. Ive had them install a low-mileage transmission, head gaskets, a new long block, water pump, timing chain, etc etc. This truck has a lot of miles, but is running like new. Thanks Ben & Shaun! Its worth the drive from Tigard to Parkrose, even if its just an oil change. They really know what they are doing.

I have been taking my familys cars to Bens Japanese Auto Clinic for about 5 years now. My initial introduction to them came at a time that I was unemployed, was therefore being very careful with our $, and needed a 60K service on our Mazda MPV. The mechanic I was using at the time quoted me $1300. I called around and Bens qouted me $600 for the manufacturers recommended service. They did a good job and Ive been going to them ever since.They are very responsive to our repair needs, use quality Japanese parts, and Ben always takes the time afterwards to show me the old parts and explains what the issue was. Theyve also done a good job trouble shooting issues and recommending reasonable repairs.I highly recommend Ben and his team of capable mechanics to meet your repair needs!

9/2017 - Still driving the Camry with engine Ben put in. Still glad I did it. If you have a japanese car that needs an engine, I recommend Ben. Now I have another Toyota and Im going to have Ben replace the transmission for me.4/12/2013 -- Update. Ive been driving my Camry with new (used) engine that Ben put in a bit over a year ago. No problems. So happy I had him do it. The cost was $2800, included other stuff besides just the engine (new sparks, etc, new fluids). Car runs great. Was so much better than having to buy a new or another used car. Highly recommended.2012- Ben and his crew saved my 1999 Camry from the junk yard. I let the engine run out of oil. After that, it sounded like a diesel and ate over a gallon of oil per 1000 miles. I talked to a bunch of different mechanics. Some said: its a gonner, not worth fixing. Others wanted to rebuild the engine for over $4000 (and refusing the commit to a firm price). I found Ben while searching the web. He did a leak down test to identify the actual nature of the problem and described the result to me in a way that exactly matched my suspicion (worn EVERYTHING... valves, seals, rings, etc). He recommended to replace the engine with a low milage japanese used engine. He quoted me $2800 complete (parts and labor). That includes not only the engine, but quite a few new smaller parts AND replacing most fluids (which you would have to because you drain them when you take out the engine). In addition, he suggested that my clutch only had 10% life left (after 150k miles, this is not only reasonable but a good run for a clutch). he replaced the clutch at the same time as the engine, only for the price of parts. In the end, he did the work even faster than he initially estimated (does take a few days), came in exactly at the cost he told me, and charged me a very reasonable price for clutch parts. And now my car runs like new! After having had cars for 25 years and seen many different mechanics, some good but most only barely acceptable, I can highly recommend Ben. He was honest about the problem, did good work, charged a very reasonable/affordable amount, and did the work on time. I only gave good for appeal because the shop is quite classic, not slick and shiny. Who cares?6/2021 sold the Camry a year ago. Still was running great. Have regretted selling it ever since.
