Jacobs performed well on the job, did what they said they were going to do and with high competence. We are VERY happy so far with the multi-zoned system they retrofitted into our 3 story house and it has VASTLY improved the quality and effectiveness of the cooling on the VERY hot summer days we have experienced in 2021. The work was completed in mid-June JUST BEFORE the intense heat wave Portland experienced during the last week of June (whew). I highly recommend hiring them and would do so again if I needed to do this to a different home.

This was our third experience with Jacobs. We had 2 different plumbing problems which were quickly resolved.This last time we had an air conditioner installed by Antonio and Victor. They were very polite. Answered all of our questions and did a super job. Left everything clean and picked up. They went above and beyond satisfying us. We would highly recommend Jacobs for any heating, cooling or plumbing job you need. Out of 10, wed give eleven!

Super professional and polite company. We were quoted a fair price for a new AC unit. Installation was fairly quick. They hauled out the old concrete slab and equipment and the new one was only half the size as the old one. On time and responsive during each step of the process, couldnt ask for more!

Conrad in the service department coordinated everything with no hassle and Jef serviced our gas furnace. Everything looks terrific now. Jef was extremely professional, courteous, and conscientious. We had a follow-up concern about the furnace--Jef came back out to reassess the same day we called and addressed our concern, which meant a lot. And Jacobs did not charge extra for this second visit. Very impressed with the regular twice-yearly service that we have received over the past 4 years from Jacobs Heating & AC. By that standard, this week was still EXCEPTIONAL. We had a very good experience.Our installer was Jason. He was punctual and polite. He kept us updated about the time the project would take. He tested the system and taught me how to program the thermostat. He left all the information about our new system and he cleaned up after himself.

Despite the heat wave, Jacobs Heating pulled out the stops to come fix our AC. Randy arrived on time, was incredibly professional and frankly was able to find and fix an issue less experienced technicians would have missed. Really cannot recommend the Jacobs team enough!

BEWARE- Predatory business practices! The technician showed up and after realizing the AC unit was certainly low on charge due to a leak that would ultimately be uneconomical to fix, decided instead to lie and deceive us about what was needed. He urged us to replace parts he conveniently had in his truck yet clearly knew would not address our problem, and proceeded to tell us at the end of the visit that the problem actually was never worth fixing. Dont let this guy within 100ft of your AC system!

So I serviced my own Navien Tankless and after descaling turned the unit back on and it had developed a leak. After talking to Navien found out it was the air bleed and they gave me the part number. Called Jacobs because they were a dealer about 5:30 in the evening so after hours 09/08/2021. Technician I spoke to said it would be $360 call just for showing up. Not a problem asked if he had the part I needed on the truck. Said what if that wasnt the problem that he would have to come back. I assured him it was and wanted to give him the part number to check his truck. Turns out he was very short with me so told him I would take care of it myself. Went on line ordered the part had it overnighted. Took me 10 minutes to install with no special tools. So that call he lost I figure a $450 call. Very rude. It will be a cold day in hell before I would recommend them to anyone.

Wherever there was a decision to be made, he consulted with us and thoroughly explained how the system worked and what settings and placement would be optimal.After the install, everything was cleaned and swept. We have used Jacobs for at least the last 15 years. Jeff visited us today as part of our annual maintenance contract (highly recommend it). Jeff was professional and friendly (and thankfully comfortable with our dogs). Weve had repairs in previous years, and Jacobs has always been fair and responsive.

I needed help asap with a hot water heater situation. I called a few places and received a few different diagnoses. Jacobs was super friendly and got someone out to give me an estimate right away. When he showed up, he was not in a truck and was not wearing anything to identify that he was with Jacobs. I showed him the hot water heater and he looked at it for maybe two minutes before leaving. He did not do an inspection.Then I was sent a bid for $5,600! It was a full replacement which I may have needed but how would he even know? I am a single working mom and I do not like being lied to or taken advantage of. Good thing I found a different company to actually diagnose the issue and get me a new system for $2,500. What a bummer this could have been such a waste or time, resources, and money!

Jacobs Heating and Air conditioning installed our HVAC system 11 years ago, and I continue to be impressed by their service! Bryon D. was both professional and courteous in all manners of our service call. He patiently listened to my concerns and addressed everything. I recommend both the company and Bryon D. to anyone requiring a new unit or service to an existing unit.

In April this year we called Jacobs Heating and Air Conditioning for a tune up. The owner answered the phone and quoted us $190 and on 4/27/2021 a technician came over. It turned out the system had stopped working so he did not perform the tuneup, yet he still charged $320 (my husband was present with the technician during the few minutes he spent here) and in their invoice they included charges that were not done, like replacing battery for $160... ludicrous, the unit had stopped working and applying a protective finish (???) to the unit for a system that needed to be replaced..., that did not happen.  In addition when we called the owner she was rude and said she would talk to the technician and get back to us, but she never did. We gave you a one star, but you do not deserve any.

My installer Yevgenly was truly a pro. My house is 70 years old and ducting work was a real challenge, but Yevgenly was equal to the job and my new system keeps the house comfortable in any weather. Thanks to the whole Jacobs team for a professional and personable job.

Jacobs Technician Jef S provided maintenance on an older furnace that had unfortunately not had a filter replacement in quite some time. He was able to thoroughly clean the unit and was friendly and nonjudgmental when we pulled out the old filter. I appreciated his prompt service, his friendliness, the thoroughness of his work. So much so that I signed up for the signature club so that I can have Jacobs come out and service my other residence at a lower cost. Win - win!

It is very, very rare that I write a review, but the Service James Schnell Field Supervisor at Jacobs provided was very gratifying for my Wife and I and it is a customer service story that I want to share.Long story short our 12-year-old AC unit died, and we had reach out to Jacobs to get a new one. We have a special needs 25-year-old Son. James came to do the walk through for the installation and met our Son as he was coming back from a drive. He likes to ride in the car. But he was not happy to have a truck in the driveway. He has OCD as well. When it came time, a week later for our new unit to be installed (Michelle moved us up in the schedule due to challenges we would have with our son if it were 80+ degrees in our home) Jacobs called and said they had a couple of folks out on our install team, but that James was going to take care of it! Turns out James did it all on his own! Our house sits on the side of a hill, and I have no idea how James got the new unit down the hill and the old unit up the hill!Now with the current weather forecast showing a few days in a row over 100 degrees we are so thankful to Michelle, Conrad and especially James Schnell! We really appreciate the empathy James showed by setting aside his Supervisor title for a day and doing our tough install all on his own!

Hello, I wanted to let you know about the service Rodney performed on my heating unit. I had several questions and Rodney was able to answer them all. I got three separate bids from different HVAC companies. I hadnt decided whether to go with a heat pump or just an AC, and wanted to get a range of options. Jacobs was the third bid that I received, and they knocked it out of the park.First off, they were practical. I have a gas furnace and was considering switching to electric. My install consultant from Jacobs made a strong case for why I didnt need more than an AC. Other consultants either didnt have an opinion or were pushing me to convert the whole system (which is a $10-15k project, no small dinner). This built my trust instantly.Second off, they beat all the bids. Flat out. No negotiation, no BS. Just a good price that I knew was good because Id received two other bids.Third, they were organized. I mean, super organized. All permitting was done, all scheduling was prompt and simple, and everything got coordinated perfectly. I didnt have to lift a finger.Finally, Doug -- my install guy -- was unbelievably good. Didnt dumb it down, but didnt make it needlessly complicated. Explained everything down to the minute details of the system. Was super friendly to our crazy 75-pound puppy. His work is flawless, too: clean, futureproofed, and thoughtful.He was a courteous guy to boot. Explained our thermostat, reinforced that if we had any issues with anything to call him, gave us his card, took my credit card and bounced without leaving a trace. Perhaps the single best install / repair / contractor person Ive ever worked with, and Ive worked with several dozen.Best of all, I love central air conditioning so much, and having a smart thermostat is a luxury I never thought Id care enough about to love as much as I do. :PI cant recommend Jacobs highly enough. I literally never write Google reviews unless asked, and I just was bored enough to spend 20 minutes writing this because I was thinking about how awesome Jacobs is.

So, its summer again and things are heating up. So, I called them early this year because I knew the attic split unit wasnt cooling right. I said I wanted them to check for a leak. Pretty straightforward stuff. They said it would be a few weeks, which I assumed anyway. No big deal... Anyway, the time finally arrives, and a tech arrives. His conclusion: We need a leak check. I was like, I thought thats what you were gonna do?? Hes like, No, Im here to see what you need, and you need a leak check. And for that opinion (he did absolutely nothing), I had to pay $160. So now they want me to schedule an official leak check, which is what I wanted in the first place. And of course that costs a lot more. Which is fine, if that takes more time. But... why TF didnt you just do the leak check in the first place??? I really feel screwed out of $160, even though I realize that in the AC/Heating world that isnt a lot of $$$. Its not the $160. Its the complete WASTE of $160 when that $$$ could have been put to some good use (like doing the actual leak check). I friggin KNEW what was needed, ordered that, and didnt get it (and then paid)! Oh, and weve wasted precious time as well, of course, because now we have to start the whole scheduling step again. It wasnt the techs fault, though. He was in fact pretty nice. It was whomever took the call. I really expect more from an AC company. Like, if I say, I think the unit is leaking coolant, the person on the line should be industry-savvy enough to say, Well, damn, dude, sounds like you need a leak check. That runs $xxx, and takes X hours. And then Id be all like right on! lets DO it! Conclusion: Im done with Jacobs. This is strike two for them, so shame on me. But at least for my $160, I feel a little better by warning others and a generous 1-star review. If Jacobs reads this: Dont bother with the insincere, professional-sounding BS responses like you gave all of the other 1-star reviews. Just make a private note of this and IMPROVE. Itll save a lot of people time and money if you do.

After 20 years of solely using a wood stove for our heating, and window air conditioners for cooling, we decided to look into installing an alternative heating/cooling source. From our first contact with James, this has been a positive experience. He came and listened to what we wanted to do and suggested a ductless split system. Our installer, Moses, was efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous. He made sure that everything was installed and working properly. He was especially careful of our concerns that our dogs didnt make the great escape during the installation process. He answered all our questions thoroughly and patiently. Although the system has only been up 2 days its working great for heating, both on its own and in conjunction with the the wood stove. We havent used the cooling mode yet, but we certainly will next summer (and no more having to put the air conditioners in and take them down).

Our furnace stopped working in the middle of a big ice storm. We left a voicemail with these guys on a Sunday and followed up with them on Monday morning. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and told us someone could be out that very same afternoon. Not only did they show up same day but Ryan the repairman came several hours earlier than we expected. He found the problem immediately, fixed it in a timely manner and now my very pregnant self and my husband can sleep more comfortably tonight. The prices are reasonable and service was excellent. We will definitely be using them again in the future.

They first rescued me when I was in a nightmare with a different company that installed a product incorrectly and didnt know how to service or fix it. Until Jacobs came to me, the system went down several times a year. After Jacobs, it worked perfectly. So in my new home, I called Jacobs and no one esle. Greg helped me to get the best system for me --and every discount and rebate possible. Michelle, worked wonders with scheduling to help me fulfill doctors orders for my father who is in his 90s and has COPD. Then Jason L. came to install the system and a new smart thermostat. Not a scratch or nick anywhere --and beautiful finish work. Plus, after he installed the cooling coil, he left my basement cleaner than it was when he arrived. I think Ive, been with Jacobs about 15 years or more, and I LOVE this company. Greg, Mihelle and Jason are absolutely charming to boot. The Carrier products they offer are great, and this experience was another dream come true. Pointed out issue to sales when the bid was done.. Furnace could not draw enough air, it over heated and shut off. Brought this to the attention of the installers and a field person who came out to see how to connect the furnace ducting.. Used a camera to find crushed duct work that was replaced. Called because furnace not heating house. Got an all clear. Called again as furnace not heating house. Discovered same issue. Furnace cannot draw enough air so it over heats and shuts off. Propped open filter door to keep furnace running untill this Wed..Small point. Was asked if I wanted a morning or afternoon window.My window was 11 to 2? Not really an am window.Jacobs has responded quickly to our calls

Jacob’s installed a new gas furnace and A/C for us . Their quote was a second bid . Mark the estimator who gave us the estimate was respectful, articulate and answered all our questions and needs. James the technician who installed the equipment was attentive, knowledgeable, kept us up to date with The progress of his work, explained what he had done at the end and cleaned up after himself very well. Everyone who came to our house from Jacob was mindful Of Covid precautions. The coordinators in the office Diana, Michelle and Melanie were efficient in setting up our appointments and in reminding us of them, helpful in clarifying the process and highly responsive to our needs. To sum up, we received superior prompt customer service from Jacob’s and great workmanship. We highly recommend this company and will refer them to friends.

Daniel Craig did maintenance on our heater today. He was very professional, friendly, and willing to answer any questions I had about what he was doing. He was the first serviceman in 10 years of Jacobs services, that removed the condensation reservoir inside the furnace, and cleaned it out. He wore his mask at all times. He is a great representative for Jacobs Heating.I will definitely ask for him again next year when it is time to service my furnace.

Jacobs Heating just completed a new furnace and A/C installation in my house, and I cant say enough about the fantastic job they did. From the beginning, when Mark S. met me for an initial walk through and went over the design options and how to fix the current flawed set up, to Bob K.s meticulous planning of some much needed duct reworking on the second visit, and especially to Carl G.s thoughtful and perfectly executed installation that took place over an entire week and took a lot of work, I knew I had selected the right people. When I made the job more complicated by wanting to relocate my main floor return to the ceiling (which required custom duct design and fabrication), they said no problem. This team cares about the finished product, not just keeping to the timeline and budget. Now a month in, and every room in the house is more comfortable than before (and I cant even hear it when its running). Thank you Carl, Bob, and Mark (and Michelle T!), you guys and the rest of Jacobs were spectacular!!!

Once we tried to use another company due to an emergency that could not be booked with Jacobs and we regretted it.This company is honest and they charge very reasonable prices. We are very fortunate to have found Jacobs Heating and Air Conditioning and look forward to using them in the future when we replace the old furnace and add in AC this summer.

Bryan D was awesome! He didnt mind a bit when i sat behind him and asked him multiple questions about what he was doing, what he was looking at, what filters were the best, how my thermostat was working, etc.He was great to have at our place and took good care of our our HVAC unit.

Received great customer service from Service Technician Daryl Quinn this morning! Daryl called before he arrive to let us know his approximate arrival. I appreciated the call. Arrived and immediately went to work servicing our home A/C and Furnace.He wore protective mask, gloves, and booties. Completed the work in a timely manner. Cleaned up the area. Asked if I had any questions and answered all questions to my satisfaction. In addition we talked about renewing the Classic Maintenance Plan when it expired and suggested how to protect the A/C during the winter months.Also, it was easy to set up the appointment and scheduled a date and time to my liking.I’m a satisfied customer😃Mike

Emailed on the web form Sunday late night when our A/C went out, and the service department called me 7:30 AM Monday morning! Got scheduled for next day AM service. Brian D, the technician, was very friendly and got our A/C back on immediately. The service contract is also a great deal if you dont have someone looking at your heating/cooling regularly yet...an ounce of prevention!Wonderful service all the way around, very happy to become permanent customers!

We had Jacobs service department do regular maintenance on both heating and cooling systems at our duplex. One mini-split and a gas furnace and a/c. We have had our A/C and furnace serviced by Jacobs for over 25 years.Daryl was the best technician we have had. He followed all of the COVID protocols. He is knowledgeable, articulate, friendly. Daryl explained what he was doing and answered our questions. He had us check the cooling output of all of our vents, which is important with this heat. He explained how to make our A/C more efficient, and options for air filtration. I highly recommend Jacobs Heating and Daryl.

Jacobs installed a ductless heating/AC mini-split for us. Their quote was accurate and detailed and the installation was very smooth and professional. I was impressed at how well the installation blends in to the house and how mindful they were. Every one of the workers and techs that came to our house were very carful and respectful, being careful to wear masks and being mindful of keeping distance and not touching things in the house that didnt need to be touched.I would high recommend them and would use them again!

Rodney Dillard with Jacobs was fantastic. He arrived on time and was super conscious about social distancing. He was polite and professional and took our air conditioner from non-functioning to freezing cold in about an hour. All this 2 days before Portland is headed toward 100 degrees! A few weeks ago I left a negative review of Jacobs Heating & Air Conditioning after a bad experience I had with the company. Not only did the owner reach out to me, but Jacobs went extremely above and beyond the call to make things right. Better than just right. Its one thing to leave a positive review when everything goes smoothly, but I think Jacobs deserves greater acclaim for fixing an issue and providing superior customer service. I honestly believe they care about every single customer.

Wiring mistake resulted in a dead furnace. Bryan and Jeff came out the same day, found the blown fuse, and had things working quickly. Id gladly use Jacobs again.

I was charged over $250 for a twenty dollar capacitor.My wife says I have to give Jacobs on S.E. Milwaukie at least a 3 star review. She was home working while I was out at my job so I wasnt there to meet the service tech. She said he was real nice and polite. I however wasnt so impressed when I saw the bill.Now I knew beforehand how much a basic service call would be ($160) but I didnt realize how much they would jack up the price for a $20 service part. I would say on the range of 700%. If you ever have them come to your house and say you need a starter capacitor you should immediately look up that part on Google or your favorite search engine and then show the service tech. Starter Capacitors come in various sizes and can start about $12 and go up to maybe $50 and they are no more difficult to change than flashlight batteries. Dont be intimidated by the service tech. You can do this. I unfortunately have been working massive overtime during the Covid crisis and did not have the time.I was charged over $250 for a twenty dollar capacitor!Of course I know they need to turn a profit but this is pure and simple price gouging. So I went to work and spread the news. I work with over 300 people and I told them all. Hopefully they will remember Jacobs name when they or someone they know needs AC service and remember what I told them.

A technician just came out for our free maintenance on an AC unit we had installed with them previously. He was super helpful, with good recommendations for how to maintain and care for our AC and furnace. He also had all the necessary PPE to make the visit safe: goggles, gloves, mask, booties, and remembered to keep 6 minimum of distance whenever possible during his visit. I highly recommend this company.

We had some hiccups in communication because everyone is so busy, but Randy at Jacobs stepped up and took care of us when we really needed help after the worst weather disaster we have experienced after over 25years of owning a commercial building in Sellwood. Jacobs is our go to for HVAC provider!

When our air conditioner recently broke down I called and emailed the installer, who never got back to me. A friend recommended Jacobs so I called them and scheduled an appointment. Bryan D came to our house and fixed the problem, was very thorough, and explained everything he was doing in an easy to understand way. We signed up for a service agreement so theyll come back in the autumn to check on our furnace too. I recommend giving them a call.

Robert came out from Jacobs to check over and tune up our a/c and gas furnace system. Robert had his mask on before getting out of the truck and things just keep getting better as we progressed. He was here about an hour. Performed a number of tests as I watched. Reset the thermostat for our tenants and answered all my questions withoutjargon. What a pleasure to do business with a company that cares. Please keep Robert and get yourselves more of him !
