The upstairs of my house has historically been 10 - 15 degrees hotter than downstairs in the summer. Even worse during the recent heat dome. So I called a few HVAC shops to find a solution. Jake from Anctil came out and pointed out an airflow issue caused by how the unit had originally been installed that the other estimators hadnt even noticed. Fixing it increased the price, but I was more interested in getting it fixed right than just going with the lowest bid. In the end, I had a zoning system installed so that the upstairs temp could be controlled separately from the downstairs, plus added another vent in an undersupplied room. Jake got me a quote quickly, and, unlike other companies, they actually had the parts available and I didnt have to wait until February to get the work done.The crew arrived about 4 weeks after I got the bid from Jake (with a little follow up on my part) -- they actually showed up a few minutes early, which was great (sooner begun, sooner done and all that). They ran into some unexpected issues and it ended up taking 2 days instead of one, but once they started the work, they were very good at communicating what was going on, how long it would likely take, and any challenges they found. I was really impressed with all of the crew. Everyone was professional and nice. They arrived early and worked hard all day. They werent bothered (or didnt show it) when I dropped in to get a status update. They did a great job cleaning up when they were done.Overall it was a great experience and, as far as I can tell so far, it was successful in achieving the objective of getting better airflow upstairs and will allow me to have better control of the upstairs temperature (without having to adjust the downstairs temperature to a ridiculous level.)I will be using Anctil again and will be referring them to my friends and neighbors.

5 stars is not enough. Mark diagnosed my AC issue by listening to it over the phone and Chris made the repair. These guys are just awesome! Will definitely be the only company I use and refer going forward. Thanks guys, you saved me from heat stroke.

I hired Anctil to install and relocate a furnace in addition to removing and installing all new ductwork and gas lines in joist bays of my basement 7+ years ago in order to begin a 2 phase complete home remodel. The technicians were great to work with, clean, completed the job on time, and seemed to understand the description of the work and what needed to be done. I have since used Anctil for all routine maintenance and have referred many friends, family, and clients.However, I began to remodel my basement to finish the remodel and found that the initial technician ran the 1 flex pipe gas line below three joist bays behind a waste pipe before he brought it up above ceiling joists. This likely saved 15 minutes in work and it was done to cut a corner. This is not what the work order/contract described (see attached picture.) I did not catch this on completion of the work. I asked Anctil to come and remedy this oversight two weeks ago. They did and it took about an hour. They charged me for this work. I did not want to pay it and called to ask for this fee to be removed. Ben in the office was unwavering and insisted I must pay this small charge because it originally passed inspection and you did not initially catch the mistake. I will pay the fee. I am tired of seeing contractors cut corners time and time again. This situation could have turned out much differently.Unfortunately I will no longer be referring business to this company and am saddened by the way this situation was handled. In my opinion, how these little issues are handled show the true nature and culture of a small business.

Anctil installed a new ducted heat pump in our home. We love it! Their team was professional, responsive, and provided a high quality of work. We were very impressed!

Chris came in response to a malfunction notice on our control panel. He carefully examined everything to determine it was an electrical issue due to some power surge and recommended an excellent electrician who took care of the issue after which Chris came back and made sure the connections and everything was functioning as it should. In the process he noticed some things on our siding of concern and took the time to mention it to me and give recommendations how to deal with it. I am very thankful for his attentiveness and above and beyond service.

Our heat would not start on a chilly morning in March. I called Anctil and a technician was at our home by noon.Quickly found the problem and repaired it. Heat came on. He charged for a simple service call and we were grateful to have our home heat back on so quickly. Anctil installed a Carrier complete central heat system in 2016. Great company to work with.

Nearly three weeks after reporting that the air conditioner they installed doesn’t work at all, the issue is still unresolved. This is the most unresponsive and infuriating customer service I’ve ever experienced. It’s been over 80 degrees in our apartment for more than 20 days thanks to Anctil. They do not care that they haven’t found a solution. Every day there’s a new excuse. And the unit was installed a year ago. They are absolutely pathetic.

Called during the heat wave. Ben was very rude. Hung up on me after saying he couldnt help.

ANCTIL installed a new forced air furnace in my home and did not put a filter box. They just threw the filter on top of the blower (with no support) making it impossible to replace the filter. Had to hire another HVAC company to fix the sketchy work that ANCTIL did.

We used Anctil Heating & Cooling HVAC contractor of Portland, Oregon to install an I-Wave-R purifier device ($400) on our Lennox furnace. Anctil sent a Technician who admitted he had no training on installing ($400 install fee) this device. Within four months of the I-Wave R install, our furnace started acting weird. We did the usual of swapping out the filter and still no change. We then called Garoken Energy Co. of Beaverton, our original Furnace installer. Within hours, the Garoken Technician identified the problem that the Anctil Technician overlooked. The instructions were outlined in the simple I-Wave install manual: “Always add a wire nut to the wires not being used (red or black) depending on voltage input”. These wires did not have a wire nut and were Arching randomly and caused the Furnace to malfunction. This cost us $180 to fix and Anctil Heating & Cooling HVAC contractor of Portland, Oregon refuses to reimburse and basically insulted us “how legit this can be” even though we provided the work order from Garoken that included the Tech Name and Number, I-Wave install PDF and Clear instructions for Wire nut use. Basically, if Anctil screws it up they take no responsibility to make it right.BTW, Garoken has been great to work with.Anctil reimbursed the $180 Garoken Maintenance fee after posting this feedback. No mention of the rookie job I-Wave installation cost of $400. Ive given them a 3 Star. Lastly, yes they did call and we traded emails.

It was great working with the employees of Anctil Heating & Cooling. They took the time to carefully remove our ancient oil furnace, from a furnace room with a custom small door, without creating any structural changes. Their workers were professional and pleasant to work with. When we had an issue with an A/C unit when summer rolled around, Anctil quickly came and got everything working perfectly. Thank you

Mark and Joey came out to do maintenance on my mini-split heat pump thing-a-ma-bobber. They were both very professional, respectful of the property and nice to the dog.Mark explained what they did, what to look out for in the future, and even did a fix that was outside the scope of the maintenance quote. Speaking of quote, the actual service came in under (which wasnt the cheapest in town, but reputation is worth extra for this kind of work) which is really how you want to do it. Quote high, come in a bit lower, everyone is happy. He did use the opportunity to offer further services, but in a very polite way with no pressure, which I appreciate.Ill definitely be using their services again.

Its very stressful but exciting to purchase a new home. Dont ruin it by deciding to have this company do the job. The original job bid at only taking 1 day took 5 trips to the house. To be honest we have lost all trust to even know if its right, but are very glad to not have them come back. Very little respect for your home or the new insert we purchased. To top it off I came home today which was their last visit to find the front cover just hanging half way on. I would not recommend this company.

I know this is a bit old to bring up now, but I retired from the USCG and 100% VA Disabled and because of this not able to crawl under my house to check the work of this company. From what I know now I should have! I had them come to my house in 2003. They were to install new duct work to the existing register boots, and balance the system to ensure proper airflow to all rooms. They also were suppose to insulate all the return air duct work. Then to remove and dispose of the existing air duct work.At least this is what they said they were going to do, what they did is quite another thing. The old duct work is still under the house, the insulation if that is what you can call it. Is either not there or just hanging from the duct, and in some places just cardboard taped on. If I could afford it I would hire another company to come and fix their sloppy work. I had pictures taken not long ago and it shows what a bad job they did, I cant believe I paid $1600. then for a $16. job.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They all act nice as long as theyre getting your money. But if something goes wrong with your system that they installed and is still under warranty.....GOOD LUCK. I should have looked at Yelp reviews, no wonder they only have 3 stars on here. The service valve on a heat pump is part of the system, and one that malfunctions and causes a leak of refrigerant into the atmosphere should be covered. Not with Skanctil!

Ive worked with anctil several times, most recently for a new AC installation. Everyone is very friendly, professional, straight forward. Highly recommend.

Jake and Brian were great to work with through the entire process, from quote through installation. Their price for installing a zoned HVAC system was less than four other competitors quotes doing a basic install of a less efficient system.They worked to move my install up when my old furnace gave out and left me without any heat. I had a miscommunication with the installers on the placement of the thermostat, and they had someone out the next week to get it corrected.

New furnace added central air before Christmas 2014 very professional on time. Competitive pricing.Old furnace was 30 years old..Not use to spending that kind of money without physically seen touch. furnace an air.Competitors have products to look at Im not used to buying from a brochure. Took a drive from Beaverton to their location expect a showroom.nothing to see. 😞

Scheduled a guy to come out and service my furnace at 7:30am. No one showed up, finally called at 7:50 and was told Oh Im so sorry our guy is sick and is not coming today, we need to reschedule. Thanks for wasting my time Anctil.

Pricing is way out of normal, we are talking around 4 times more than is worth. The Phone quote was for around $5000 to $8000, parts and labor. I had the work done by a different company for $1100.

Shows up on time with all the right stuff, thorough diagnosis, fixes it quickly and bills less than any of the other bids. I would call them again without hesitation.
