***Beware!!*Walked in to get a job, and left after a minute of talking to the girl at the front desk with the disgusting, stinky and unhelpful attitude. Aside from the guy at the front desk who was very kind, it wasnt enough for me to be able to stand the terrible attitude from the blonde woman. I mean just completely changed my mind about ever using on staff to help me and this economy. Hopefully the other staffing agencies around this area arent the same, and show some sort of value of the people who come to them looking for unemployment instead of just seeing you as a dollar sign, or some sort of commission. But I can see why they have poor ratings and just do your own job search folks unless there is another agency that has better welcoming presence and values you
If you’re looking to actually have a job don’t come here they wasted my time for a whole week offered me a position at aunt Millies and then a week later they still haven’t even gave me any start time start date nothing but they’ll give you a pay card just no job LOL what a joke
THEY ARE SO GOOD THEY GAVE ME SUCH A GREAT JOB! They are really nice about my epilepsy. Sometimes I have to call off and they are very understanding.
OnStaff is such a blessing. I had to get a good paying job in a hurry, and they helped me right out. Chad was my dude, and he was super cool.
They are very nice people and help you find a job that good fit for you. Also help you get started very fast to your next journey of your next career. they will take care of you.
The will help you find work if need be but it is a temp service. They get paid by the company for placing you and you never know what youre walking into. I am one of the few who was placed twice before I was hired in after a year of temp work. No benefits that are worth it, but it is a great starting point for someone who needs work ASAP.
Poor agency worst I have ever been through. Give you jobs that cancel you before working. An lie about the jobs they give you.
Very fast, friendly and professional.
They dont return calls,
Onstaff Discriminates Temps on their Return to a Job after a Lay-Off Period in Agreement with a higher paying Company in Kalamazoo even if the individual did nothing wrong based on favortism or relationship between Onstaff Staff members and their family in the same work place. Discrimination of Temps is against the Law on both ends when theres no proven reason to judge the individual. Onstaff Management Reach Out to Me? How you going to reach out to me when I dont work with Onstaff and I am just a girlfriend of a girl Discriminated by that Old junky Bread Faciliy? Thats On Onstaff Neglect.
They will find you a job but other than that they are horrible at everything
Since you reached out and asked for more details publicly allow me to share. First off I gave up a full time position at Stryker because Amy at the portage location told me WMU was bringing in temps and that there was 14 positions that needed to be filled. She failed to disclose WMU is actually down 14 staff members but they are NOT hiring because everything is in this air due to covid and budget. Because their union anyone laid off in any random job there gets first dibs at any open positions in the fall. So even if any of those 14 lost jobs were brought back they most likely won’t make it to public bidding. Even if they did that wouldn’t happen until AUGUST so why did I give up full time employment for that? Clearly your staff doesn’t know anything about the jobs they send people to besides what they read from the job description. Do you not go on-site like WSI or Employment Group to see the work conditions and make sure your staff is doing well? If you did I feel like you would know more about your customers opportunities. Next issue was my “orientation”.. Amy was in such a hurry to get everyone in and out of her office she forgot about me twice. First was when I had the oral swab in my mouth for 5 min+ until the skill quest guy noticed she wasn’t coming back. Next happened 5 minutes later when she didn’t explain the paycards hidden charges and lost the slip in the envelope she supposed to give payroll. Fast forward a week and I call to setup my money network card (direct deposit takes 2 weeks apparently?!?) and their robot tells me onstaff hasn’t sent over any info yet. I call Amy on Monday to tell her there’s a problem and she condescendingly responds (kind of like she’s already had to explain this to 100 different people this week). I am sorry I am used to professional organizations who can afford checks instead of predatory debit cards for payroll, so please don’t talk to me like I am 5 years old when I ask questions about it. 2 days later Amy and a “senior” recruiter independently reach out to me via email to ask questions about my pay card. That sent red flag up considering I was told everything was fine Monday. They both ask me to take a picture of my debit card and send it to them via unsecure email. Do you have an IT director or security officer working at onstaff? If not you really should look into some cyber security. After I called and told them my debit card number over the phone no one contacted me again about the issue. payday morning comes around and no money was deposited in my account - shocker right? I call at 8:30 to ask why we are having issues after I called in my details Wed. The receptionist copped the same condescending attitude Amy had (which seems like an onstaff culture problem) and told me the money is “guaranteed by 9am”. After explaining to her Amy messed me up she insisted she was right and that she would personally call me after it’s deposited to let me know it’s there. Guess who didn’t call and wasn’t there by 9:05? If you guessed the receptionist or my check you would be right! Amy calls me mid shift to admit she lost my paperwork and blamed me not getting paid on payroll rejecting my debit card cuz lack of a picture. Thinking she was being helpful she had them reissue me a new card that I had to drive over to the office and pick up after work. If she knew there was an issue Wednesday why not admit it then? When payroll refused the card Wednesday or Thursday why didn’t anyone call me? Does your payroll department not own a phone? Best part I got hit with $19.25 in fees trying to remove my first check. Seems to me your policy’s and processes are out of date and need an overhaul. Your organization still does paper timesheets in a backwards digital fashion. No one has a direct # or voicemail apparently. I work in IT and could help you find actual digital solutions to all the listed issues if your truly care about improving your business. How much could stamps and paper checks really cost? Much less than the fees employees get I bet.
My experience was amazing since the beginning. Crystal really helped me to find something that would best meed my needs. I also liked the way she conducted the whole process, very attentive, friendly, professional and she makes you feel really comfortable. I also want to mention how everybody is incredibly fun and friendly. There is so much to say, even the girls in the front desk they are amazing, lovely and very very willing to help you. I definitely recommend! I truly had an incredible experience!
If you are looking for clerical positions, dont waste your time!! They literally have one posted on their site (posted yesterday 9/15), but when you call they suddenly have nothing. This position is also listed on indeed and other sites as well. When I questioned them about it all I got was They fill up fast, we will call you my profile has been active for months, I have all of the needed experience listed in the job description, and yet never get a call when they supposedly have these positions. The office staff is also horribly rude and unprofessional.Edit to add screenshot of listing for the job that isnt there shockingly still posted as opened and accepting applications. False advertising much??
I applied over a month ago, had an interview on a Saturday and provided everything needed. I was offered a job that required proof of a diploma, which I was able to get faxed first thing that Monday morning. The woman that was working with me just so happened was out sick all the way until Thursday. Despite me calling everyday, no one else seemed as though they could help give the fax to the employer that needed my diploma. I received a call (once she was back in office) that stated that they had filled the position while she was out. UNBELIEVABLE. You mean to tell me that I could miss out on opportunities just because someone else is out? On another note, I was told that she found another employer and would give them my resume. It has now been 10 business days since our conversation and I have yet to have received a phone call, text message nor an email with updated information. Maybe it is just this location, maybe it is just the staff, but when I know other individuals that had no where near my history of employment walk out with jobs in 2 days, something isn’t right. You are better off taking your chances on Indeed. If I could give this location 0 stars I would due to my experience.
They pay you on this pay card so they can charge you fees for taking YOUR money out, instead of giving you a pay check or direct deposit like everyone ells in the world. Onstaff makes money per hour you work but that isnt enough they gotta charge you fees on your spending too?
I had an excellent time working with OnStaff to get a position for a nice employer. The staff was very helpful. My recruiter, Chad, was a very helpful person and the resources he provided me with were concise and informative.Any questions I had were answered promptly, and overall I had a pleasant experience.5/5, would work with them to find a job again.
Amber, my recruiter, and the entire crew at On-Staff are great to work with. They are extremely customer-service oriented and communicate very well. They got me a couple of interviews almost immediately, got me placed in a job until I was able to land a permanent job. I am very appreciative of all their efforts! Thank you, On-Staff!
I have called them 5 times in the past 2 weeks and went to their office twice and they say thay are going to get back to me and no response .Then they post all these jobs on indeed and no response .What kind of agency treats people like this .They are so wrong Please dont respond and say you are working on the issue when you are not .
Great place to work with!
I understand that our world is upside down. I was forgotten about. Last week I was suppose to get paid from the week before, I didnt. I was going to use this money to get to work on the new job. I ask OnStaff for help with gas (5-10 dollars)and the demeanor was like sounds like a personal problem, your problem not mine. You people forgot to pay me! Now I cant get to work! I have to scrape and beg! In the state of Michigan your a second class citizen if your a temp. Ive never lived anywhere like this. I dont have welfare to fall back on. I dont have kids! Everyone thinks I have 5 kids by 5 different men!
Staff was very helpful and friendly. They actually found me something better than what I was looking for.
Got placed a few times through them and havent had much of an issue. Just wish they were more upfront about the length you have to work before getting hired in. The last two places I found out is at least 6 months to over a year.
I have had a very good experience with Onstaff in Kalamazoo. My recruiter, Chad, is so informative, helpful, and quick to respond to all my emails and phone calls. He even went out of his way to suggest a company that was closer to where I lived, so less of a commute, for me. I really appreciate all the friendly help from Onstaff in Kalamazoo.
Sally was very dedicated and persistent on finding me employment. The process was very smooth and she went above and beyond in the process. If you want a good employment opportunity, see Sally!
Everyone at OnStaff was amazing! I walked in and they gave me some easy paper work to fill out. Then the rest of the process was very smooth! Best employee there is Amber Mcintyre. She’s very organized, and will make sure everything is on track during your career. I highly recommend working with her! She won’t let you down!
I applied through a job on here close to a year ago, they ended up texting me asking me to call them for information on the job I applied to, called and was told I didnt qualify for the job. Uh okay? So why not just text or email me that instead of wasting my time asking me to call you...Every now and then I will get an email or text from bob frizzo saying that there is a job available, never states any information about the job, Ill call and get told there are no job openings available. Also Ive asked dozens of times to be taken off of their email and call/text list, but nope, they refuse to take me off.
First let me say I havent been to OnStaff in 17 years and things have definitely improved. I dealt with several employees today and they were all awesome. One particularly stood out for me SALLY SILVEIRA, with all of her immediate assistance to helping me find a job. Sally also was extremely polite and she seemed to know her job well. It only took a short period of time for her to get me situated with employment. Thanks OnStaff, thanks Sally 😁
Contacted OnStaff on Monday about a job posting I found on Indeed, Amber helped me that SAME day and was a HUGE help with the process. Ive never worked with a staffing company before and Amber made me wonder why id never done it sooner. I strongly suggest asking for her when calling or stopping in. Her down to earth personality and sweet smile made me feel so welcome at such a time in my life. Im happy to be back on my feet, all thanks to her dedication to helping people.
Definitely the best staffing agency in Kalamazoo. They really are trying to find the best fit for you. I recommend you check here first if you want a job.
All the reviews on here with 5 stars are fake af. Patronizing and uncommunicative sums this company up. I found a job on my own quicker than this temp agency could. Ponzi scheme. Portage MI branch is joke.
I was down on my luck, about to drown in bills and debt, and I went into OnStaff. I met with Sally Silveira, a wonderful recruiter, and now I have a great job. My life is getting better by the day.
People on here crack me up. Applied for a job and got called the same day. The whole process went smoothly and quickly. I went in for an interview. They told me they had a place for me to go. I called back a few days later and they said that I had an interview. Go to the interview and everything goes great. Got a job in a week and a half and all is good. If you present yourself well and do what you are supposed to at an interview they will place you. Overall very good experience and I would recommend if you are at all driven to find a job.
Amber was amazing. She was determined to find the best spot for me. She was great to work with. When you go in ask for Amber!
I keep getting emails in regards to 1st shift employment. So I call today and spoke to a recruiter (Sally) whom is very rude and unprofessional eating food in my ear and hung up on me when I was in the middle of asking her a question about the employment process. She definitely didnt lose service she hung up the phone and I am very disgusted with how she was towards me!
Sally Silveira is the best. I was able to get a job the next day I set up my information with her. She was able to find me great pay super close to home.
I agree that there needs to be much better communication between advocates and employees. I also have had 3 different temp. jobs and wasn’t successful.
Onstaff USA is one of the better employment agencies. They work hard to find a good fit for you. I would recommend this agency if you are finding you are having a hard time on your own locating employment.
I was completely belittled by a recruiter there who laughed at me, for turning down a job offer that I KNOW wasnt going to provide enough money to support all of my and my boyfriends expenses, and asked to speak to my boyfriend who ended up just saying everything I told him to say because he doesnt make my decisions for me as I am the one with the car and also the one who analyzes our finances to assure our financial needs are met; yet she treated me like the little girl who accidentally answered an important call for daddy.
Onstaff was very helpful placing me at a job, while I was between jobs. I would definitely recommend! Very easy company to work with.
Got a job through OnStaff in 2017 and have been hired in at my employer for almost a year! They helped me get my foot in the door at an amazing company and I would definitely recommend them.
No communication makes you look stupid in front of the employer they place you with.
Not sure why they are scored so low on their ratings. I have went to Kelly Services and had terrible customer service and they were not very professional. Onstaff has been amazing, Amber McIntyre worked great with me and was very supportive and the communication was superb. They placed me at Schupan and have been amazing. Thank you Onstaff!!While waiting for my boyfriend to be interviewed, Amber made appoint to come out and congratulate me on my placement. Thank you Amber for being personable!!
Great company! Really helped me find a rewarding job. Everyone was very kind.
Onstaff has done me right. I didnt like an assignment and they got me into a much better assignment very quickly. The next day to be precise.
Worked there for 2 days at the worst company I have ever seen. Had glass flung at me, no safety at all. Basically slave labor. Debris all over the plant floor almost tripped several times the first day and saw a hired in employee fall on her butt. And as far as the onstaff supervisor went . Zero communication from her, zero understanding when I quit the assignment. I would definitely recommend anyone apply on their own or try manpower definitely a better temp agency in my experience.
Not having any issues with the staff, honestly they are very nice. But I dont know how as a veteran Im not able to get past the interview stage. I dont have much experience in a factory, but its not like Im applying for anything other than a entry level position.
You’d think a business who is responsible with setting people up with jobs would be professional. But don’t expect that here. Not only are they unprofessional but they are also very rude.
I had a pretty quick opening for my first job. It lasted about six months probably because they didnt want to hire me in. Whatever you do, do not request to leave a work site. They wont help you find another job. But if you stay until your last day they are going to help you figure out more places to work. You have to be on top of them about finding you a second place. Call everyday until they offer you another orientation. Than call some more to see if they will have an upcoming opening. If you do not have a car they will not help you. You need your own vehicle! I had to share a car before I started working but I told them it was mine. Shortly after I started working I bought a car for like $500. I drove it just for that job. I didnt do any repairs on it, besides ones that would risk my safety. Then when it died, I sold it to a junk yard for about $300. If there is a will theres a way! You really have to front the car thing. Drive yourself in someone elses car to Temp Agency. They saw that my mother drove me and wrote it in my file. Also, be very punctual. Show that you want to work. They will keep helping you look for more jobs if you are responsible. They do pay you, you dont pay them. So its them that you have to impress!
Yes they do a good job finding you work.. but Sally spoke to me in a patronizing way . I left work and went to the hospital sick and the next day was told to come in to do a incident report/drug screen I was confused about that because Ive never had to do that with ANY TEMP ANGENCY FOR LEAVING SICK!! She seemed very surprised when I dropped clean. I dont know what this was all about they claim something to do with insurance . She then made me wait purposely several minutes after doing my test.. while she made her phone calls etc instead of sending me on my way!! It really rubbed me the wrong way, found another job and quit! I dont recommend this one in portage!!
This agency is horrible. If you applied for something dont think thats what theyre offering, they offer what they think is good fit by your gender. The recruiters, yes multiple ( I was passed around and could barely keep track ) had horrible communication, barely respond to e-mails and send you to unprofessional/ unorganized factories and businesses. They blame you for their high employee turn over rate, but keep these factories horrible on a pedestal with a fake description of their environment. Give you false info on jobs, pay, time and managers. If you decide to leave make sure you work those 2 business days otherwise they put you on their job wait list.
What an awesome staffing company. Where most staffing agencies treat their employees as just a number, this OnStaff branch in Portage is great! I started with Stryker on April 1t, 2019 and the acct coordinator, Frank along with branch mngr Kelly, have kept in touch with me, given me great feedback, and answered my queries quickly. Thanks OnStaff for the wonderful opportunity to work with Stryker. 👍😀
Racist. Dont really care about people who need a job. Very unethical habits. If youre African American they offer you the lowest paying jobs regardless of experience.
Waste of my time. Showed up on my first day and made a great first impression. Showed up on Friday to find out I have 2 no call no shows because the company didnt know I couldnt work Tuesdays and Thursdays. Theyre more worried about filling their quota than paying attention to the worker. Avoid this at all costs, its a waste of your time.
I dont remember names unfortunately but there were two receptionists. I was standing there waiting to be acknowledged while both of us them kept talking about their weekend and laughing. The job I was told I was going to do was not at all accurate to what I was actually told to do for the duration of my placement. I told her and all she said was give it time. They really need to tell people exactly what theyre getting assigned to. Theyre in such a big hurry to place people they dont take into consideration that holding back information to fill spots is just a waste of the companys time and effort and the person who thinks they are going to be doing one thing but finds out theyll be doing that plus alot of extra stuff they werent told about from temp agency gets happy for a job that they wont even be working. Theyre just thrown into something they werent told about.
Went to onstaff and Diamandi was very nice and helpful. She found me a job very fast close to home and something i like.very pleased.
A seasonal company I am currently working for has decided to use them for the first time to pay the employees. WORST CHOICE EVER.My manager told me to call the and find out exactly what I needed to get my checks since they are VERY picky about verifying people. Many of my coworkers has wasted time for the company not being specific enough about what they needed, so they brought in either the wrong forms of verification or not bringing enough.I call them and they tell me to fill out the application online and there will be a spot for my companies name so I wont have to apply for random things. I go through and there is no spot and they want all this information, so I call them back the same day to tell them that I am uncomfortable with putting all that info since I only want the one job and already have two others. She says Let me see what I can do, a little annoyed and then puts me on hold. She comes back and says she fixed it and my application is submitted, I should expect a call by the end of the day. This was on a Thursday.I keep calling but dont get a call back until Wednesday. I have to come in with my a form of ID no normal person carries on them so I have to go back home between my classes then drive across town before five to do this paperwork.I wait 30 minutes in the lobby and go back. The guy spends 20 minutes questioning my bank because it is an online bank. They then say my first two checks will have to be paper checks for no reason. None of my other co-workers got this. Just me.Finally he says they can mail them or I can pick them up. I ask if I can send my mother with my forms of ID since I work 9-5 everyday like they do. Nope. Okay, how long should they take in the mail. However long the mail takes to mail them was the snappy answer I got.The kicker? They had to combine my first two checks since I didnt get my paper work done in time for the first one. MY paperwork was done, your company just sucks at responding and makes everyone who comes in contact with them miserable. You guys give really crappy customer service, maybe you should rethink your job choices.Dont work here. They suck.
Portage Michigan is the rudest of any. And the females are the most difficult and stuck up to be exact in their fields. I know Im not a bad person or a rude woman. The way they look at u or anyone else is disgusting and they dont see that as a issue. Recycle the entire staff please.
Decisively poor performance. I went in for an interview 30 minutes early to get the paperwork done. They ignored me for 15 minutes after the interview was supposed to start, then the interviewer flat out interrupted the interview while I was getting the information they requested to take another call. Then they transferred me over to another person since the person on the other end of the phone was more important to them. This has to be the most disrespectful interview I have ever had.
Worst. Business. Ever. If you want to find a job, this place isnt worth your time. They dont even consider returning phone calls. It doesnt matter how many messages Ive left with the recruiters. They should at least be somewhat considerate and tell you they have no jobs available for you, but no. And my job they did get me only lasted two days...
HUGE lack of communication with their employees and their customers! They bounced me around many hours and shifts just in the first weekThey lie to place you at the worse places with crappy pay.If they deduct My pay down to minimum wage because they cant do their jobs and get their facts straight, I WILL BE contacting my lawyer!!!
I had a very good experience with onstaff. My recruiter, Sally Silveira, was most helpful. She not only helped me gain employment, but also genuinely seemed to care about her job and helping others. Good job onstaff, Ill referre others your way.
I absolutely love what onstaff does for the Kalamazoo community!!In 2017 I was in a bind at a cruddy job and Lindsay was very helpfuto tell me about a company that was recruiting! I sent in myresume, got a phone interview right away and got a personalinterview not too long after! Onstaff provided the tools I needed to get hired and they answered all of my questions and concerns. lvebeen at my job for almost 2 years now and its AMAZING. Thankyou so much, onstaff!
Still currently employed with Onstaff, but have just put in my 2 weeks. After fighting with then for over a month to get their Spring Time referral bonus and finally being told I wouldnt be getting it. Even though I had done everything I was directed to do by them from the very beginning and was told on multiple occasions that Id have it this pay period, each week I called about it. After just getting off the phone with them moments again, for the 5th time. Im told that it was done incorrectly and that I do not qualify. Onstaff is well known to do their best to not pay their employees bonuses or that they make it hard to get your vacation pay and perfect attendance. They make it difficult by requiring you to go online and file for literally everything. So if you do it incorrectly or whatever other excuse they give you, guess what, you dont get your money. And what kind of company makes their employees file online for vacation pay?? They should just pay it. Im so done with this lame excuse of an employment agency. Ill seek employment elsewhere. Do not work for Onstaff, unless you want to get the run around all the time with money they owe you.
Kelly the Branch Manager reached out to me about a internal position at their corporate office. I landed the position and started the day after Christmas. I was so happy that I had landed a great job.On 12/31 I was late by 22 minutes. I had my car repossessed because I was with out a job. I called told them i would be running behind [Emily] said, thats okay I will let the front desk know. No biggie right?! I still came to work. One week later I was very sick with Bronchitis. I had a Dr. note. The following week I needed to make a Dr. Appt to follow up with my Dr. About my Bronchitis, I was having problems breathing. I emailed Brad and all the Executives. The time away was approved and I said I would return to work right after my appointment. Brad then pulled me into his office to ask how things were going, I said wonderful, I loved my job. They said I was catching on quickly and I was doing great as well. He told me if I ever needed to call off to give a 2 hr notice or to try to come to work to go home if able to do so.On Monday 1/21 I had not been to sleep, I was hugging the toilet, and popped blood vessels all over my face and both my eye balls. I called off work at 4 am. My shift was set to start at 8. I wasnt able to go to work just to go home. I was puking left and right.Brad called me at 11 am, asked how I was doing. At first i thought it was a end of sick day call, to make sure i was returning. NOPE. He ended my assignment. I was in tears! I called my recruiter, Kelly, and she had no idea! She said she would call me back to help me get replaced. But no call.I had proper documents showing I have a major illness and they dont care.If you have the chance go to another staffing agency, do so, so they dont do you dirty like they did me. And I worked in their corporate office!Better yet, work on your resume, get a nice outfit and land a job by yourself and get directly hired in. Being a temp to hire is an easy way for them to dispose of you.Update:2/4/19A week ago 1/28/19 Kelly calls leaving a voicemail: Hi Candace, I have forward your email for a position.....long pause..... Im sorry it looks like we wont be able to to work with you. I will pull back that resume submission. Good Luck, Have a great day Apparently someone put an X next to my name.Thats okay I have already directly been hired elsewhere. I am just very disappointed in the whole process as I was very happy in my position. Also, to the person below, my name is spelled Candace.
I would give a zero if I could. They wouldnt place me because my job history. They are temp agency their job is to help you get a job. This place is a joke and a complete waste of your time.
If I could give less than one star I would. They hired me to work at Stryker. I was told that Stryker was climate controlled and that they NEVER work weekends there. Was also told my shift was 6am to 2pm only to find it was actually 5am to 1pm. I got in the door and was there less than a week before I was mandated to work the weekend and sweating my butt off. Basically Onstaff will say anything to get that money they make off hiring you. Disappointed that the people they hire are only $$$ to them. Not professional....AT ALL.
Got me a job within a week twice when I needed cash. OnStaff was there when I needed them, so they definitely get credit there.
They r foul..my daughter got let go from hark orchids for moving too fast, lies to onstaff saying she walked out and onstaff tells her she should have called..how can she call in if they r not open. Both places foul! Yall got a job so who cares about anyone else. They deserve each other! My advice go thru manpower or employment group they will do u right!!
Fast and helpful .Thank you
Their job postings on their website can say 80 openings posted yesterday. You call and they will STILL say they have nothing available.
Will hire you and have you waiting for a month to start always leaves you hanging.
Great place to work. 10/10
Got let go from Mann & Hummel but they wont place me anywhere! I been calling for a month for a job, theyre posting jobs on indeed but not giving me a call back for a job. even asked to go back to Mann & Hummel for the fact they need people BAD! Onstaff need new recruiters worst communication ever!
Very rude and lazy staff. I would recomend another temp services and pass on these guys if you plan to go through a temp service.
I remember when I first went here in 2009. I went in dressed to impress, i was wearing nice clothing. Did all the basic stuff needed to apply, i was looking for a certain field. They told me they would try to find a job in that field, after not hearing anything for a week i went in to see why i didnt have a interview yet.I was told they couldnt find a job in that field, but had an opening in a different area, so they got me an interview for it. The lady was nice at on staff, telling me if i didnt like it, to let her know and she would find me a different job. She just said i had to stick with it for a week at least. After a week of coating and painting mag tool flash lights... i couldnt take it. The place was about 95 degrees all day, you didnt have any down time which was annoying but it was ok. The part i couldnt handle was breathing all the chemicals and not having any face masks to use... even the chemicals would get through the gloves.Anyway off topic, this review is about onstaff... so i went into onstaff, asked for the lady that was helping me. I was told by a manager that she was gone for the week on vacation and that he would help me. I told him that she said she would help me find another job. He told me You Quit, thats not our fault, we will not find a new job for someone that obviously doesnt want one.I was so pissed that this jerkoff manager got rid of me, even after i was told by the lady that she would find me a new job...So i called up a week later and asked for the lady, she was there. I told her what happened, and she said if thats what my manager said then we cant help you... she didnt even stick to her word...I have a work ethic, i know how to be polite, how to work hard, how to dress appropriately, how to speak properly in the right setting. The way i look at it.. this place doesnt deserve my money or anyone elses. They get you $15.00 per hour, of which you only see $10.00 of and they pocket $5.00 for all your hard work. The only thing they are is a receptionist. A job calls in looking for people to fill a position, or in some circumstance, they call into a job looking to hire someone. If you grabbed your own phone and called a job or even went in person. You could get the job yourself. You would get paid at least the $10.00 an hour that you wouldve gotten with onstaff. Then you could get work insurance, 401k, vacation and personal days. All without having to submit anything to onstaff, and not feeding them any of the cash they do not deserve.I am very happy i was done with them sooner than later. I am being paid way more then i wouldve been through onstaff. I have a stable job. I am a manager. I also dont have to breathe those horrible chemicals anymore.Moral of this story. Dont do business with temp agencies...(side note: google needs a 0 star option or negative option)
I dont know where they are finding theyre recruiters but lauren was extremely rude towards me for asking simple questions, asked to talk to supervisor and got a and I quote are you serious?, ugh hold on and Bob the supervisor said nor did anything about that. Sure this company will place you but you better hope you dont get the flu because bye bye assignment, no compassion shown by management or the recruiter I had. Absolutely unprofessional. They actually wanted me to go into work with a fever and throwing up. No room to be a human here better work like a robot. Fair warning. Also youll just have companies overwork you then end your assignment before hire in, plenty of people I know have had that happen through this place. Absolutely pathetic. There are way better staffing companies around kalamazoo. If someone actually does something about this Ill change this review but as for right now fair warning this place is SKETCHY AF
The recruiters are horrible and VERY unprofessional! Maggie is the absolute worse and does not take her job seriously at all, she is very rude.
I worked for onstaff me and my fiance. They fired me because someone in my family was in the hospital on their death bed and I checked my phone when my sister called to tell me our grandmother died. Then my fiance was fired because someone at fabri kal was cursing at her a grown man so she emailed Brad regarding the situation because it was over the weekend and he claimed he never received the email so he couldnt place her anywhere else. Onstaff is a major waste of time. If u wanna give your time up just enroll in school u get paid more to educate yourself.
Rude staff, and lied about multiple positions. -2/10. Diamondi should be fired for the way she treats people.
I had one prospective job, they failed to tell me I would be switched to an off shift when I got hired in, so after my second meeting with them, I learned this. 2 weeks of my time wasted.I went to an orientation and was instructed to wait for a call. I finally called back only to find there were no positions available. 1 more week wasted. Thanks for letting me know. I went to a different agency who informed me that there were currently positions available with that company. There always were.I called about a job, I had a friend who worked there, that would help get me in. They said there were no positions available but offered me a temp job in the mean time (why they hadnt done that sooner, i dont know) I agreed and came in, signed the paper, had to pay 10.00 dollars to get my drug screen, which I feel is a violation of our privacy to begin with, and the other agency I have gone through DOES NOT make you pay for THEIR test, and was set to work the next day. I had a problem with the weekend shift, mandatory 12 hour days, and the fact that I was going to have to take my piercings out for MINIMUM WAGE. They had not mentioned piercings in person but said that it was in the paperwork I signed, so basically I was out of luck. I went to my first day at Fabri-kal, and realized that even if I did get to keep my piercings, I would NOT work there for minimum wage. The work was fast paced and back breaking. Others from different temp agencies were making more then I was. I had worked similiar jobs which were less demanding and paid 4 dollars more. When I told Onstaff I was not going to work another day, they said they would not work with me anymore.Moral of the story: do not work for Onstaff, and if you are going to work for Fabri-Kal, make sure you go through WSI. Onstaff is pathetic, they lie, they pay you dirt for miserable work, and they definitely dont care. Like, they are a business, of course they arent going to care about you. But they know that what they do is wrong, even by business standards.Temp agencies better then Onstaff: Snelling, Kelly Services, WSI, Manpower, probably anyone else as well.
It sucked I Been waiting on my pay on this card now they talking bout I gotta wait a week cause they forgot some info never again they suck
Cant be late hardly at all within the first 90 days or youre fired.
Very rude. Giant waste of time
Went through and hour and a half long ordeal just to be told that the job I was interviewing for literally didnt EXIST - I took a math test!! They photocopied my framed degree!! I watched a 15 minute safety video just to be told that the position WASNT AVAILABLE! Will not be applying to any job that uses onstaff again.
No interest, highly profiteerer, and no respect for you as a human being .My experience with them is very bad .
Horrible attitudes they act like there the only temp service around, would not ever go back .
Very poor of communication, I dont recommend this temp service.
Place is a joke....I got let go for taking my safety glasses off to whipe sweat off my face in the 120 degree factory I was working in. Waste of time, not to mention crappy pay and tons of hrs
Worst temp agency Ive been too.
Unorganized, not helpful
