This is my favorite place to go to get my hair done. Michelle did a great job coloring and styling and even took a picture with my phone for me, great service! My favorite part was the atmospere in the shop because every one was so nice and were excited to see how my hair turned out.

I went in to the shop praying for a perm. I had the pleasure of working with Valerie. She was professional and honest. Stated my hair was too damaged for a perm unless I wanted to lose half of it - we should make a plan to fix for a future perm. Not only was she a pleasure to work with but she listened and suggested a game plan - not just a “no.” I will continue to come back to cost cutters as long as Valerie is working there - I will follow her where ever she goes. She has a true passion and creative mind, making her a phenomenal hair dresser.

I called 3 times before anyone answered the phone. The lady seemed annoyed that ai asked if there were any openings for a haircut before the end of the day (6pm). I asked why they closed so early compared to other places and she said that 6pm isnt early even though similar places are open until 8 or 9pm. Her excuse was that they are short staffed. I have tried to go to this place several times over the last couple of years with NO success. I think their business model needs to change before they bw ome a thing of the past. I am not going to waste my time with this place anymore.

Michelle was amazing! I came in for a balayage and was beyond pleased! I had wanted this done at a different salon and all they did was highlights. Not only was she able to correct it but she was able to remove this copper tone that I had. She took the time to explain the process to me and brought out color swatches for me to look it. She gave me some great recommendations for products to use to keep my color vibrant. I haven’t felt this pleased about my hair in a long time. Looking for a great color job or cut? We had our hair done by Val Nelson. She was the sweetest person. I went in with my 2 children, 8 and 5, for hair cuts and I got my brows waxed this trip. We were there for maybe 45 minutes. Everything turned out wonderful. I have also gone to her for hair coloring before and it turned out amazing every time. I highly recommend you see her for your hair needs!!

I took my 4 year old son in for a haircut. The man who cut his hair had no patience for my son moving around. He gave him a terrible, uneven, choppy haircut. I cant believe I paid money for that. I could have done a better job myself. I will not be going back.

No stars need to be an option. Either you take appointments or you don’t. These folks need to make up their minds and make it clear to the customers. I went in at 130 and was told they are booked until 4 and that I should come back then. I said I’ll make an appointment for 4 then, and was told they don’t take appointments. I asked if I were to return at 4 if I’d get my haircut at that time and was told, “no, we are a walk in shop only.” I then asked how they can be a walk in only but they’re booked three hours out with only 3 customers waiting? Makes no sense how they run what they call a “ reservation.” They then told me it was corporate who doesn’t allow them to take appointments......Corporate doesn’t allow it in an attempt to prevent the exact experience I was having. I dont get it and I will never be back as this is the fourth time I’ve been through this “appointment, but it’s not really an appointment” conversation with these folks. Here’s an idea for management - if you are, as you say, walk in only, you give folks a time estimate and that estimate holds unless you leave the business. Once you leave you cannot come back 3 hours later and butt in to the front of the line. It creates a lot of pissed off customers (this happened to me at this location as well). When I go to a restaurant and there’s a long wait I either leave or stay there and wait. All this for a GD haircut!

Wow, I cant say enough good things about this Port Washington location! Of course Im a dude, so I get nothing but haircuts here. Megan always does an awesome job and usually I wait less than 10 minutes on a walk in appointment. Even if Megan isnt available the other stylists are great too and Ive never walked out disappointed. My 75 year young mom gets her hair done here also and ive never heard her complain. Highly recommended.

3 times now, over the years I called at 9am, was told will be around 11am. Did she take 10 phone calls and have 10 people standing outside? At 9:01 am. I drove over there, and walked right in and was seated. 22 years going to this place, I did not mention this to her. I am going someplace else.

I called and I asked to get a perm. The lady on the phone in a weirded out tone said “is this real life?” Like wow great employees you got there. She also said it’s because I’m a guy. Like what?!

All these places are absolutely horrible with hair especially mens hair and they dont even try to to a good job

Never open and when they are they are always booked. Never have more than 1-2 people working. Such a poorly run business I cant believe theyre still open.Once came in at 6:30 and they said they were booked until close at 8. Got done grocery shopping next door at 7:15 and drove by on my way out. Lights on but no one home. No customers, no employees. Someone wanted to go home early.

Sandy was SO nice! They are short staffed here, so she was alone. But-she gave me her full attention and what a kind person! I happily gave her my ideas and she had me check her work because SHE WANTED ME TO BE HAPPY( for all you who complain you have to tell them what to do-duh! Its YOUR hair). Ive came Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Around noon Saturday I was turned down after being told They were completely booked. And it closed early Sunday. Closest place to get a hair cut for me. Looks like grafting will be my new go too.

Rudely greated by a young lady clearly not interested in doing anything for us. Luckily we arent the type to just accept this type of attitude, we left. The young lady also left directly after.

Website claimed that there was a 0 minute wait for a haircut. Woman at the counter, not five minutes later, told us that we would have to wait 4.5 hours. I told her about the website and she only stared at me. No attempt at an Im sorry or Well fix it. Very poor customer service.
