I needed transportation quick do to my vehicle having to be in the shop and I had a very nice clerk that was willing to help me get something quick

Reserved a car. It was a disaster. Place is not kept up. Grass is knee high in front. Parking lot needs to be repaved. Service was non existent. Refused my credit card. Went down the street to Enterprise.

Just got off phone with Budget.I was told the desk clerk added insurance even though I VERY specifically told him I didn’t want it. The charge was added to my “security” only credit card. I was told this card was not going to be charged as it was not used for booking anyway. I was told that my oral response was not sufficient as it was oral only and the contract says I asked for it. Dishonesty!!!Not to mention that the front tires had no thread! The car which was a GMC SUV smelled!I and all my friends will not ever use Budget again. Extremely BAD service. Very poor condition car (in fact dangerous).Not to mention this was the first time I used this company....and the last.

My boyfriend and I had a planned trip to vacation in Port Charlotte. We decided to fly so we knew we would need a vehicle for the week. We reserved and confirmed our reservation at this location. We arrived at the airport and ordered an Uber to pick us up and take us to Budget. We got to Budget and they were closed. We didn’t receive a phone call or an email making us aware of this information. Why did they even let us pick noon as a pick up time? Needless to say we were stranded without a vehicle and ordered another Uber back to our house rental. This is by far the worst experience we have ever had with a rental company.

Good value, no hassels. Had to rent car for an unknown period of time. I asked if I could rent it for two weeks but return early if able. I was informed that if I did the pay later option, I could return early and be reimbursed for the unused days. I returned the car after 10 days and was reimbursed for four days. Rep was friendly and helpful.

I was in a hurry. They made it difficult to get the car and wanted to give me a compact car for a sportscar price . And on top of that I had to drive 500 miles in a shaky unsafe car . Very disturbing. And they didnt care 1 bit that I was given a junk car

Budget rent a car in Port Charlotte was like rent a wreck a reasonably new car with stains and cigarette burns on the seat smell like cigarettes I used the car for three of the five days and receive no credit for returning 2 days early and the person at the place kind of was a matter of fact about it I will never run from the Budget rent a car again anywhere anytime in the United States and I rent cars often recommend that you dont use Budget rent a car and Port Charlotte

I chose to pick up my car on Port Charlotte vs. airport, the savings were incredible and I was able to drop off at the airport on the morning of my departure. Friendly staff, great car. I will do this next time I am in town.

If i could put a negative number I would.I did a mini lease through this Avis and Budget. and they where horrible. they failed to tell us about additional charges. As well as taking money out of my account that they can not tell me where it went. then I returned the vehicle early and they charged me extra on top of not giving me my refund nor can they call me back! Also I was being called over and over while i was away on orders even though I have given verbal consent to speak with the other person on the account.They do not work well with military members, specially if there is problems. And just like huge companies once they get their money they dont care about you!Worse car rental company ever!If you want to lose over a grand go here, if you want someone better I recommend enterprise!

I reserved a convertible mustang on the website. It showed they had it, they accepted the reservation.When I got there 2 hours later we dont have it nor anything like it.They rented me a Jeep Compass instead.15 miles down the road the tire indicator flashes - I pull over and find a flat tire.I call the local office - they tell me to call the roadside assistance and they will come out and exchange the tire for a good one OR exchange the entire vehicle. When I called roadside assistance, they asked me a million questions including did you buy the insurance and then oh... when I said no. When I told them what the local office said, they almost laughed at me. She said theyd change the tire to the doughnut tire and then I could take the car to a tire shop for a plug or patch and Id be reimbursed...or I could wait 4-6 hours for a replacement vehicle. I then called the national office and they avoided any admission or responsibility to help me. I wound up changing the tire myself and driving it to the rental office and exchanging it myself for a replacement. Total time loss = 2 hours.

Vehicle was filthy, it was not cleaned from the previous renter. Returning the vehicle a day early you receive NO credit for this.

First time renting thru budget car rental in Port Charlotte Fl (Tamiami trail) was supposed to pick up my rental @ 9:00 am. I reserved & paid in full 2 weeks before my pick up date of April 5th 9:00 am. They did not have a car ready for me. The lady @ front counter very rude. Said she would call when car was ready for pick up even though it was reserved & paid for ahead of timeTruly dissatisfied already & prob will not ever use budget again. I will be calling Aarp & sharing this experience . We had plans this day & had to cancel due to them not having car available. They owe me a refund for an entire day.Im so upset 😡

We were not instructed or shown the features of the car so we had to learn by trial and error. The process became difficult and frustrating.

The rental serves its purpose and everything went smoothly with obtaining the car.

Was given a car that had an expired tag. Then I was given a wizard code and a reference code and an incident code all to be able to get todays free for the next time I Got a Car Rental. Went to go get the car rental and then it took me a half hour just to get the coupon code that was not given to me before that for some reason and then was told to go to a different Avis because they would still be open and be able to book me a car the same day. Turns out that Avis was not open. Called the customer service to set up a new visit with my new coupon code was asked if I wanted a confirmation number and I said yes and then 20 minutes later after I was put on hold I was hung up on. Never received the confirmation code so well see what happens tomorrow when I go into a another Avis. The whole lot of unnecessary work for me to have to do 9 months pregnant all for a car for 2 days ... ALMOST everybody was kindly helping me fix each problem that Ive encountered.

My experience with your Budget team at the Punta Gorda airport was terrific!! They all were so kind an considerate. I found myself travelling back home by myself, as my husband took sick, so I was a bit overwhelmed with the bags, car return and getting to the gate!! However your staff was so kind helped me with everything. I would definitely recommend your professional staff at Punta Gorda airport and the nice gal at Millies in Port Charlotte

Wrong car...too small. Nasty customer service

Very unprofessional office, they decided to close earlier than their listed hours on their door and forced me to take a hefty uber. Budget in general is a nightmare and I wouldnt trust them. When I went to pick up a rental car earlier in the week from Budget, they had written on the window of the car they rented bad plate, I went and looked at the plate and sure enough they were renting a car to me that had expired plates. They are also not cleaning the cars to compliance as there was ketchup on the center console of the car I rented from Budget earlier that week. This is very concerning seeing we are in a pandemic and by not properly sanitizing the cars, they are going to cause an outbreak from renting dirty cars. I wonder how many Covid deaths are caused by them already in Florida.

Budget always does it right. GREAT prices. Clean cars. My absolute go when I find myself in desperate need for a vehicle when my car is in the shop, so I can get to my job and get paid. Its a Great peace of mind knowing I can count on Budget, for a good and reliable vehicle. Thanks Budget

Had to cancel my reservation, canceled before pick up and explained the situation, rude customer service still trying to hold my money and not refund!!! DONT BOOK ONLINE! Go with a better rental company! Update: almost 20 days still no refund!!!!! Crooks!!

The vehicle was not cleaned at all at pick up. Taking it back a day early they do NOT give you credit for early return.

The attendant at the desk for both drop off and pick up made everything very simple. He was very fast helping me and didn’t overcomplicate the process.

I have rented from this Budget several times now. Every time, the staff is very nice and extremely helpful. The cars are always clean and run well. I seldom go any place else for rental cars, only if this one is booked up. The pick up is very quick and the drop off is even quicker. Most of the time I don’t even have to walk inside for the return. Great job everyone!

For the past 4 months since I started renting with Budget, I know this location doesn’t answer the phone & probably because there’s only one person holding down the fort. When I’ve visited this location the last two times,Victor was helpful. Good customer service. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

The gentleman that helped me at your Port Charlotte location was excellent. Explained everything spot on and was very professional. I would rent from that location again, because of him.

Van was newer and clean. Van was also brought to me and the agent stoodby while i inspected it. Lobby was covid aware and very clean. Upon return the agent was very friendly and quickly assisted me. Love that Budget has a neighborhood office and I can avoid the airport.

The Port Charlotte facility had my rental ready and paperwork was considerably less painful than some other rental places. The Mustang convertible I rented was not substituted for a lesser vehicle like Enterprise has done three times in the past. The car was new, clean, and ready. Good job!

I would need, and would also advise others (like my friends family and fellow veterans) to go with a different company where ALL the insurances are not a-la-carte. The rental is not very expensive for Budget, however once you add the insurance its best to just go with Enterprise or some other company. At least Enterprise picks you so you feel more valued.

My experience with Budget of Port Charlotte was a very happy and satisfying one. Car was a great size and very clean with no mechanical problems. Staff were great...….answered all my questions and very knowledgeable and friendly. When I return to Port Charlotte, Budget will be my fist call on the list.

Honestly this company doesnt even deserve the 1 star. I made a reservation several week ago to have a specific class of vehicle for a period of 11 days. They called me 30 MINUTES....you read that right, 30 freaking minutes before my pickup time to tell me that they do not have that vehicle or even anything comparable to it! Do not rent from here

I was told I had 24 hours to return the car, at 22 hours I returned the car. But I was billed for 2 days. When I called the number on the reciept to dispute the charge the person told me they wouldnt return the charge and the person at the counter at Orlando airport was wrong. And then told me that he was his own boss and he didnt report to anybody whenever I asked to speak to his manager. I will be calling my credit card company and disputing the charges.

Great service!! I have rented 4 vehicles from this location over the years. All of the vehicles have been clean and very nice. The office staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful when choosing the right car.

Victor was a great help. After having reservations to pick up a Tahoe at Hertz only to arrive to find out that they wanted me to take a minivan...I quickly Googled Budget which was conveniently located just a mile away so I reserved a vehicle online. It was a great experience walking into the store and finding out that the vehicle that I reserved was in fact available. Ill never try to save a few dollars again after that experience. Budget is the way to go!

We reserved a mustang and when we got there they said they don’t have it and you can rent a Jeep. If I reserved a mustang why would I want a jeep? No sale.

Very rude. Ripoff artists. Charged me an extra day for 1.5 hrs, past original time. Also vehicle had less than 3/4 tank of gas. I returned it to them, a fraction under FULL, and Sendy charged me 9.98 per gallon, to top it off. I explained that I received it with less than 3/4, and was told, You should have said something then. Too late. This location is a RIPOFF. And they will NEVER GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN. Too bad I cant report them to Budget.

I wanted to Cancel the reservations. I had pre paid. But was told it would cost me 150.00. I only rented it for one night. But so happens I didn’t need it. So I went and picked up the car anyway. Drove it maybe 5 miles total if that. Drive it home parked it in my driveway then the next day I drove it back to budget. So yes I am very upset with budget at this time. I rent always from budget. But this will make me think when I rent again. There are lots of other car rental companies !!

I called the local number to rent a car 3 weeks ago and I kept getting rerouted to an outsourced answering service who handled my call. I rented the car online and I was also offered a great deal on auto insurance which I bought. I made at least five calls over the past 3 weeks to not only confirm my rental, but also asked about the credit check that is done during two different phone calls. I was reassured each time I called that the credit check was only to make certain that I had$100 extra in my account as a deposit. I specifically asked if it had anything to do with a credit score and I was reassured that the credit check budget does will not check my credit score, just my bank account. I went to pick up my car 8 in the morning just to be told I failed the credit check and would not be able to rent. When I explained what I was told on customer service calls, the representative at the counter told me he has nothing to do with that. I also asked him for a refund for my insurance and once again he told me it has nothing to do with him. Also, he said it is a $200 hold on the account, not $100. Luckily, my husband was able to rent the car or else the trip would have been canceled and that would not have been a good thing. I do not recommend this company because they are liars and dont know what theyre doing.

!!! Look at your receipt!!! They slid extra $19 in Net Charges, when I asked why - because you put less then 75 miles on it you get that or you have to prove that you put gas in it, why didnt you mention it to me? I had gas receipt in hand! They took it off after I noticed that. But they NEVER mentioned that rule when I received or returned it, just gave you a receipt and have a great day!And you dont have to add you spouse as an extra driver (no extra pay) its already included in contract that spouse or domestic partner can drive it (not all companies allow that, read your contract though, dont just trust me)

This is the worse place. Hours to get a car and hours to return it. If you rent from this place expect long hours waiting. Horrible customer service and no extra hours returns. Waste of time!

The staff did an adequate job. The car was clean and they exemplified professionalism. You will not receive courtesy transportation to the airport in Fort Myers. Call Lyft or Uber.

Beware of felonious charges on your credit card! I was charged, $111.25 for fuel replacement when I had just filled up my vehicle to return! Its almost impossible to get in touch with someone at this location, youre then transferred to the national number, which they seem to have no clue to help you.

The rate estimate that I was given didnt go up or get other charges added to it. The rate was at least $150 lower than everyone else with just as new a car.

Dont rent a car on Saturday night and expect to have it for the standard 24 hour period. They do not have a drop key box and will not allow you to have car beyond their closing time of 1pm on Sunday. They said they will charge for another day if car is not back before they close.

The customer service is horrible at the local rental company. Be very careful they tried to charge us twice. When I called to ask why I was told by the manager that it hadnt happened. had to take my bank statements finally after a hr I was told sorry but it will take up to 3 days for the money to go back to your account. this wasnt a hold they actually took the payment twice. The manager was rude and acted like it wasnt his problem he kept telling me I had to call thew 1800 customer service My response was why if I rented from you. I dont recommend them

If i could rate this a zero i would! dont rent from these people. Rude and very unprofessional. wouldnt rent to us but wouldnt give us our money back or even cancel the reservation. Ive reported these people to the Better Business Bureau. My husband was behind the lady when he was walking in and she wouldnt even hold the door open he got hit with the door. She had a nasty attitude. The guy that works there isnt much better.
