This is the best CrossFit gym I have ever been to. It is also one of the best independently owned businesses I have come across. They do things right! For all one price, you have access to incredible coaches, top notch programming, varied classes and class times, open gyms, and thoughtful amenities (stuff thats both useful and nice to have, doesnt seem frivolous).I have been olympic lifting for 20+ years and doing CrossFit off and on for ~15 years. Every coach I trained with at Diablo were great with beginners and advanced folks. They also have a decent amount of high performance athletes if you want to run with that crowd. I am not big into the CrossFit community but the culture they have created seems to be all positive; not pretentious, welcoming, but will push you if thats what you are there for.The best part: no contracts or games. I am in and out of the Bay Area a lot. If I am here for more than a week, its worth it to pay for the whole month and come to a few classes a week and cancel because I know I can come back whenever. Thanks to Chad who runs the early mornings! Andrew, Levi, Lara, Jamie...anyone who Ive taken class with has been great.
I love this place. I started out not liking crossfit but, the people here are so nice, hopeful and motivating. Now I love it! I really feel like I am a part of a community. Thanks Diablo Crossfit. See you Tomarrow! 😁
Honestly the worst customer service experience Ive ever had at any CrossFit box Ive been to. I wouldnt be surprised if most of these reviews are fake or just friends of trainers.I paid in advance and booked my sessions through theyre website/app....then was told that I wasnt supposed to book through the app and that the session I booked was already taken and they just hadnt updated their calendar yet. I asked my trainer if I could have a specific time the following day because it looked open in the app and I got a very rude email that the times in the app arent accurate and that I should stop using the app and only book through my trainer... This is baffling. Why have an app and directions on your website to use it and then be angry with me when I follow YOUR system. Then when I asked for a refund for how I was treated, they granted me a full refund but felt the need to send me an email that said sorry youre so confused... We emailed you right away. Again blaming me and taking no responsibility. That email was all the proof I needed to know I made the right decision. Seriously avoid this place.
Hands down one of the best gyms in the Bay Area. The staff is friendly and helpful, the coaches are amazing, and the programming is great for CrossFitters of all skill levels.
The best Xfit experience. So many great classes, coaches, convenient times, open gym options, on line options... endless. You guys are amazing 💖
Great coaching staff, well thought out programming, and great community. Been here a month and I love it.
Probably the most fun Ive ever had dropping in. Great space with lots of room and gear for open gym. Shower facilities. Lots of top athletes, but a mix of all stages/abilities in class. Best pro shop Ive ever seen in a gym. Craig and Yvonne were terrific hosts. A must if you are in the area.
I recently moved to California and have visited many of the CrossFit gyms in the area. They were all good, but Diablo CrossFit was by far my favorite. I am happy to be a new member here. The coaching is fantastic, the members are friendly, the facility is huge with lots of amenities, and they offer a variety of classes and open gym options throughout the day. Highly recommend!
I tried many other gyms before and kept paying monthly memberships and rarely ever used them. But this place was very different for me. Everyone is so friendly and positive that it motivated me to go almost everyday. When I first started, I was going through a hard time in my life but now I’m totally addicted to this place. Thank you Craig, Jeannine, Andrew, Travis and Levi. You guys are truly the best.
Ive been a member of this gym for almost ten years, and I would still highly recommend it to anyone looking to get or to stay fit. The coaches are extremely competent, and always work to ensure you know what youre doing and that you dont put yourself in any unnecessary danger. The gym is huge, and extremely well equipped. Anyone from the novice to the experienced crossfitter will find equipment all over the gym to use. Members can come in at any time during the gym hours to work out on their own, or you can come in for classes at almost all hours of the day.
The level of change that Ive felt over the last few months is not only equal to the work that Im putting in but also testament to the programming and coaching on display here. The noticeably large gains in strength that Ive experienced without injury would not happen in a gym with less experienced staff. The sheer variety of body types that I encounter on a day to day basis here goes to show that anyone can do these workouts, with modifications to fit the individual. For as long as I am in the East Bay, I will remain a member.
The coaches, the community and the programming. There is something about this place that isnt like any other gym. You want to go work out. The workouts never are boring, and the coaches actually care how you progress. Many time slots to choose from and lots of room to work out in. Diablo CrossFit has been a huge plus in my life, and I would tell anyone no matter fitness level to give this place a try.
4/4/16I took a free class with Riki, because, like a crazy girl, I have signed myself up for a Spartan Sprint in May, which is totally out of my (current) athletic reach. I dont think I really comprehended how much upper body strength I lacked until he asked how many pull ups I could do. Um, none?He was super motivating to work with and the workout itself was very challenging. Running, pushups, pulls ups, squats... Im not completely out-of-shape, just not very strong. And this class literally kicked my a$$ so hard that I could hardly move the next day. Sore from head to toe (but the good kind of sore, like a tiny constant reminder that I did something so good for myself).Id totally recommend checking this place out! I enjoyed the music and seeing other people working out at varying levels of skill. It was a good environment for both men and women and I really enjoyed Rikis coaching style.
Followed the advice of a friend (Shari) and my partner (Mark) and I checked out Diablo CrossFit. I immediately realized this was not like any other gyms that I had worked out at before. The coaches are great and their commitment to warming up, mobilizing, and stretching before workouts is really what sold me.If youre looking for a gym to look at yourself while youre curling dumbbells, this is not the place. Plan on putting those muscles to work in a team centric environment where folks are cheering you on to finish the workout, regardless of your abilities. The best perk about Diablo CrossFit is having access to their various locations.Five stars really isnt enough for what my family and I continue to get out of Diablo CrossFit.
As a previous Club Sport addict, and a runner, I needed a spot that was easy to go into, bang out a good, hard, hour-long workout, and get out, without checking in locker rooms, having social hour, etc etc. The coaches here are amazing, every time you go in, you feel happy you did, and worked harder than youd ever work yourself. I lost baby weight from one baby, and then from the last (4th)- did it while pregnant with the last baby too. The yoga class is Awesome, and the vibe here is friendly, laid-back, but professional and always making sure that each member is taken care of. My husband joined too, and he is hooked as well. Cant say enough great things about this place.
Quite possibly one of the best gyms Ive been to. Rivals Armbrust Denver, Metroflex Arlington, and the Lift Factory Las Vegas for the top spot as my favorite gym. Great equipment, welcoming staff, clean facility, and an electrifying energy about the place. Cant image a better way to spend a little time while my flights delayed back home.
Great coaches that care about the well being of the clients. They cater to all levels. Because they are one of the largest in the Bay Area, they offer the most number of classes which allow more choices for the clients.
A few years ago, my then-fiancee and I were looking to shed a few pounds before our wedding. Wed been going to a typical gym (ClubSport), but felt we werent getting the results we wanted. Plus, it was the kind of gym I never felt at home in -- people doing curls in the squat rack, olympic lifts disallowed, most people tuned out watching TV while not pushing their bodies to improve. The typical gym atmosphere.Id heard about CrossFit, but didnt know if it was more than a fad. When we took a tour of DCF, I felt like Id found my personal fitness Nirvana. Finally, a place where olympic lifting was considered normal! If you havent considered CrossFit, I would highly recommend it. It works, and its fun! My wife didnt do heavy weightlifting in high school/college like I did, but shes a convert. It feels very satisfying to pick up heavy things -- heavier than you could before! The 1-hour format of the classes is a great way to get better-than-personal-trainer results for far less money. If you want to do CrossFit, DCF is the best place around to do it. First of all, theyre one of the biggest CrossFit boxes around, which means more classes to fit your schedule. And when you want to do your own thing, theres plenty of room and equipment. The coaches are friendly and accommodating of people with different fitness levels -- no matter how fit you are, you can get fitter and stronger here. Finally, Craig, the owner (former CrossFit Games winner in the Masters category) talks about wanting DCF to be a real community, and it is. There are a number of events and special classes outside the normal routine, but people also seem to bond and form friendships here to a surprising degree.
Great gym. Ive been a member for many years. solid coaching. great (and huge) facilities.
Biggest crossfit gym in the area. Tons of class times and wonderful coaches. Love it every time I go.
I cant say enough about the coaches. Its because of them I go back again and again and again... The members are pretty awesome, too.
Theyll give you a good workout. Parking leaves something to be desired.
I came here this morning and I wont be back. This is not in regards to the workout, because we didnt even make it that far... Ill get to that. To be clear I dont have crossfit experience. however I workout 4+ times a week. I read the door when I walked in to the gym Leave your ego at the door and give it my all.My brother, who has done cross fit for years, was visiting from out of town. He has been trying to get me into trying a cross fit class in hopes of kicking my fit up a notch level. We checked out the website before attending, we originally hoped to make the 9 am class, however had to move it to 10 am, and my brother missed that the 10 am class REQUIRED CROSSFIT EXPERIENCE. He read me the gymnastic workout as we were on the way there and there was nothing I havent done before, just not at a crossfit gym. I wasnt pumped about the pull ups but figured I would modify to my comfort level while still pushing myself. This is where my distaste for this place begins. They were more than happy to have us fill out paper work and sign off responsibility and review the cost of a drop in fee with us. As class is beginning, the women who had us fill out paper work, asked if I have ever done cross fit before.. and then preceded to tell us I cant do the class without experience. My brother chimed in this is a gymnastic workout and she can modify. Her reply was they want you to have experience. She then preceded to first ask the coach from the previous class if I could stay... then moved on to the coach of the class that was about to begin, which then told her to ask someone I am guessing is the manager/owner of some sorts who told me directly I could not stay. So why was this not brought to our attention when we discussed paper work and drop in fees? Why did we need to ask 3 people if I could stay? Why are we not leaving egos at the door and letting a new comer to cross fit a chance to work out and leave the gym better than when I walked in. ISNT THAT WHAT LEAVING EGO AT THE DOOR MEANS???A review of their instagram today showed a gentleman that was attending the SAME class I was attempting to join. The caption reads: Vince started his journey 6 short weeks ago barely able to get through a very limited warm-up. And, with only 2-3 sessions per week and gradual progressions, he nailed it today. His scaled version of the workout put him in the middle of the pack for rounds and reps. @crossfit is truly amazing and is transforming the life, health and fitness of this 48yo husband and father. Leaving me to question why I couldnt stay a do a scaled version myself?Long story short we went to another crossfit in walnut creek for todays workout and loved it. If you are going to preach leaving egos at the door I suggest you make EVERY class about pushing oneself with the sentiment that no matter what your starting point may be, thats its not about where you finish but that you finish. My issue with this place is that you didnt even let me start.
A wonderful community to be apart of. Knowledgable crossfit game competitors as coaches who make sure youre being smart and safe. Love this place.
There is no place like it, The owners, the coaches & the community are the best. The mission statement sums it up FITNESS BEYOND EXPECTATION! Love this place..
Lots of class times throughout the day, amazing coaches, and programing that just makes sense! Love this place!!
Diablo CrossFit is fantastic. Do it. What are you waiting for? It will transform your life.
Whats not to love??? Its always open or least seems like it is, its HUGE so you never fee cramped like some places, the coaches and owners are awesome and very knowledgeable and the community is very welcoming. Ive been a member for 2 years and joining here after checking out other boxes was a no brainer. The recent addition of Sabre Jiu-Jitsu Academy under the same roof only adds to this elite facility and experience!
Crossfit in itself is life changing both physically and mentally. However, if you are looking for a extension of your family...Diablo Crossfit (DCF) is the place for you! DCF runs an extremely professional facility...the coaches, equipment, facility, class options are all top notch! As a busy professional, one of the biggest values for me is that DCF has two facilities that I can train at AND they have open gym ALL day; Its the flexibility that my crazy schedule needs. Above all, the entire community including the owners, coaches and members make DCF my home away from home. I have experienced many crossfits in the area and had not found my home until I got to DCF. Not only does DCF have one of the best competitive environments for me to train in, (dont get scared off...Its only if you want to be competitive) I truly LOVE training here...because were all friends and family!! If you give DCF a shot.. youll be glad you did!!
The best crossfit gym in northern California!
The best place ever!!
Great coaches, lots of class options
