Here’s one of the GREATEST computer repair companies in North Texas. Not only did Mac Tracks repair my outdated apple computer but they also upgraded my 1TB hard drive to a 3TB hard drive courtesy of exceptional customer services. We highly recommend Mac Tracks to anyone looking to successfully fix any problems involving Apple computers. Thanks again!
Highly recommend. Not only did they fix my problem, but gave me in depth knowledge of the issue and ways to avoid it in the future. On top of that they saved me quite a bit of money and gave me recommendations on how to upgrade my unit in the years to come. The customer care was personalized and I felt that I left my laptop in great hands. I will always use them for repairs going forward!
I have used this place for YEARS and never had a problem until now. I was charged 600$ to upgrade my machine which I was told would fix my problem. Not only did it not fix my problem but they wiped all my software from my computer (software I need to do my job) and every time I have called to ask a question they are not helpful and downright rude actually. They wont answer my questions or help me. Worst service I have ever had here and wont be back.
Amazing company! I was so Blessed to have the opportunity to have them work on my laptop. They are fabulous people in general. They are smart, knowledgeable, and honest. Susan and her incredible team truly want to take care of their customers and I am grateful. Thank you all so much!!!
I called asking if they could replace my trackpad on my MacBook Pro and I asked for a price. The manager refused to quote a price for a trackpad stating I would have to bring in my MacBook Pro first and pay for the diagnostic evaluation and that amount would go to any repair and product purchase. I offered to give him all information to identify the exact MacBook Pro so that he could give me an estimate for the replacement trackpad. He refused. I also pointed out that they had actually worked on my MacBook Pro before and so they had all the information in their system to refer to in the first place but that did not matter to the manager. I asked if I could speak with the owner and the manager told me that “the owner was not a technician” and then hung up on me. HORRIBLE!!!
It was my first experience at their store and it was great. Celeste provided excellent service and had me on my way super quick. I would definitely recommend them if you need your computer fixed.
Ive been here three times in the past and theyre amazing. Jeff is awesome, and theyve kept my 2011 Macbook Pro running in tip-top shape. Theyre always honest and will talk with you and fill you with as much info as you want. (I have a background in component-level electronics repair, and theyre always super great about giving you the pros and cons of different scenarios, and how Apple has changed their models over time.) Theyre refreshingly honest, and you get what you pay for! Dont go online to do this stuff yourself - take advantage of their knowledge base and awesome staff!
Their service was quick and easy. The rep I dealt with was very patient with me as I dont have a lot of experience with Macs but needed to get my sisters repaired. Affordable especially for the services available. All in all would go back if I have any problems in the future.
When the Apple Store told me Id have to give up my computer for 3-5 business days to get my battery replaced, I knew there had to be a better way. And there was! Mactracks took great care of me. I called ahead to tell them what I needed. They assured me it was in stock and that I could wait for the replacement to be installed. It took me longer to drive there from McKinney than it did for them to fix it. I was truly surprised at the turnaround time. Additionally, they were about $100 cheaper than the quoted Apple Store price. i would absolutely use them for my future needs.
These guys honestly really know what they are doing, they completely fixed all the issues I was having with my MacBook Pro and even fixed a few things I didn’t even realize were wrong till they did. Now my computer runs super smoothly, I will definitely be back again if anything goes wrong with any of my Apple products. Thanks so much!
My iPhone 7 Plus wouldn’t charge anymore and they diagnosed the problem as some lent that got compacted into the charging port and were able to get it all out. Total time from handing my phone to them to it being fixed was only 3 minutes. Best of all, they didn’t even charge me for their time! Couldn’t be any happier!
I’ve gone there twice for two different MacBook Retina units. Both times they addressed my issue to my satisfaction, answered all my questions, and were super friendly to boot; even though on one of those times I was That Person, walking in 5 minutes before closing.Highly recommend. I will go there instead of the Genius Bar every time.
I would highly recommend Mactracks Plano, great service, Eric is the manager and took the time to make sure my computer was working properly and did his best to find the problem and fixed it. He should be in charge of both locations, he surpassed expectations, so happy I was blessed to find him and for him being in charges of my computer!! A+++
Jason did an incredible job on my MacBook Pro I was sure was destroyed. Not only was he able to recover the hard drive sage but he got the whole thing working better than new. He even followed up after everything to make sure it was still running smoothly. 5 stars no doubt.
I took my macbook pro here. Apple couldnt figure out what was wrong with it over the phone after a few hours. They were very knowledgeable and figured it out pretty quickly and it turned out to be under warranty so it didnt cost me anything. I was really impressed because it only took about one business day to complete and they definitely under promised and over delivered.
My daughter took my 2011 MacBook Pro there because the A key had broken off. The tech fixed it at no charge!! That is a great way to start a new business relationship. Thank you all for your outstanding service!
Promise us 24 hr evaluation. 5 days later called after calling multiple times got a hold of someone.I would never waste your time this company. Stick with real apple store
This place is AWESOME. i cracked the screen on my MacBook Pro. i took it in on Tuesday afternoon and i got it back on Wednesday afternoon. Apple was going to have it for 7-10 days. i would highly recommend this company to anyone with an apple product.
The service was good but I think it was too pricey. I tried to convince the tech that I dont need to back up anything other than just one directory and even I am OK not to back up that to reduce the charges but I got a vague answer that its going to cost the same. I was charged for three hours and I assume most of the time went in backup and restore. This could have been done in 1 hour with OS re-image.
Cannot recommend these guys highly enough. My laptop crashed along with my the night before I had to take a final exam. The Mac had all of my outlines and study guides I needed for the exam but they were able to care of it in an hour and recover all the files I needed.
Recommend you to check your device even it’s not fixed after diagnose. I didn’t check but realized there are half of the screws on my Macbook Air are missing when I got home. They won’t take the responsibility from my experience. To get the tool and screws for Apple product is never easy to me.update: receive a call from service manager and I get the screws and screwdriver sending to my office. Change from two to four stars.
The logic board on my macbook pro laptop needed to be replaced. Through Mactracks, I was able to get Apple to cover the new logic board and pay for the installation fee. I only had to pay for the diagnostics fee. I was very happy with the service provided by Mactracks. Andrew was able to give me a good deal and I could not be happier.I would have had to pay out of pocket if I had taken this to the Apple Store directly. This place does an excellent job and I love to people that work there. They are knowledgeable and very well connected with the Apply Industry.
Changed my iphone 6 battery! Very fast service. Easy process and nice employees. My phone is working great.
My experience was absolutely WONDERFUL! They were professional, curitosy and quickly resolved my issue. The advice I received was beneficial and simple. Will absolutely use them again if I have any issues with my Mac products. Love this company!
Took in an iMac, paid the diagnostic fee, received a call back that afternoon that they could not find anything and there is no charge! In fact, we talked on the phone for 20 minutes discussing home computing suggestions. Most companies would have “found” something wrong... not Mactracks! They did the right thing! Thanks for the customer confidence! Future customer for sure!
I highly recommend these guys having used them numerous times over the years. Their work is outstanding. Their latest wizardry was to recover data I had on a drive that failed. If you have a Mac and its in trouble you can do no better than MacTracks.
These guys are great they will fix any problem you have with your Mac products and they will fix it very quickly. They also guarantee their work.. Prices are great and fair. I recommend !!!!
These guys are hands down the best thing that has ever happened to Mac. There customer service is impeccable, and with a two day turn around on a complete motherboard replacement they cant be beat. They even helped me out with a warranty issue by representing me to Apple. They charge $50 to diagnose problem, but its is subtracted from the total bill at the end. HIGHLY recommend!!!!
I cannot say enough good things about Mactracks. Their expedite service is awesome for power users like myself who need my macbook / imac repaired asap. Two separate occasions they’ve had me back in business in less than 24 hours. Need your apple laptop repaired or serviced don’t waste time shopping around...go to Mactracks now! #macbookrepair #appleservice #appleservicecenter #applecare #macrepairs
Can you love someone before you even meet them? YES. Yes, you can. It was a frantic day at the office and I was helping a person and my tea spilled across my keyboard. I was quick to turn my computer upside down, but not quick enough. I went to Apple and they said they couldnt retrieve my data. My husband said to go to Mactracks. I flew to Mactracks and I was checked in quickly. They told me that they have really good results with issues like mine. I left my work computer, expecting to wait 7-10 days later. The VERY NEXT day, MIRACLE WORKER AND TECH WIZARD ISAAC GARZA fixed my computer and saved my data. I was beyond thrilled. I was in LOVE with MACTRACKS. Today, my coworker spilled water on her keyboard. I told her get ready to fall in love. Thank you, Mactracks. I am your new biggest fan!
Do NOT use Mactracks as a Genius Bar alternative. I made an appointment through Apples website to fix my Mac Mini because they had an available time slot a day before the first available Genius Bar appointment. They charge $85 + tax just to do a diagnostic. Dropped off Friday afternoon and didnt hear from them until Thursday afternoon the next week. They quoted $460 to repair, minus the diagnostic fee, and when I declined and requested a breakdown of what they found out they acted offended and dismissive. I picked up the next day and took to a Genius Bar four hours later and they were able to diagnose AND FIX the problem on the spot in 15 minutes, free of charge. Go to the Apple Store first, this place is not worth the time and cost.EDIT: I received two calls from Mactracks the next day, first from the manager, Andrew, who reached out to better understand my concerns and offered to do anything to make it right including reimbursement of the diagnostic fee which I declined because it wasnt the charge that bothered me, but I certainly appreciated the olive branch. The second was from the tech who worked on my machine, Jason, who was extremely apologetic and understanding of my frustration but explained the reason behind the push back I got from my original decline of service was that he had already spent a few hours fixing the main issue which had to be done in order to make sure they gave me a correct estimate of total repairs, which he wished he could have explained personally but was unable as he left sick that day, and he did indeed sound pretty under the weather. So I adjusted my review to 3 stars from 1 for the misunderstanding and the apparently free work I received. I wish this had been explained up front as this review would have gone much differently, but they certainly deserve extra credit for reaching out after the fact.
Macktracks guys have Expert Knowledge on Converting a Non-Working Mac INTO a Working Mac. They have Regular and Expedited Services. The Expedited Service came in Very Handy for me as I needed something fixed urgently. Ultimately everything for fixed to the last detail. I will surely recommend anyone to get in touch with Mactracks before giving up and re-formatting your hard disk. They are very professional in terms of Price Quotes and make every effort to make you aware on what is going on.
You will not go wrong with Mactracks. I have used them before. Always professional and personable. You are treated with respect and they truly care about you. I will always use them.
Mactracks is the Best!! The technicians are very knowledgeable, honest, and helpful. I highly recommend them!!
I have a tendency to drop my phone, usually off a 5ft shelf onto a tile floor. Thankfully when I did some damage they were able to help me out. Jeff was awesome!
Excellent job by the team at Mactracks. They fixed my wifes Macbook Pro after being told by Apple it was an $800 repair, they fixed it for 1/2 that. Fast, no nonsense service. Other repair shops in town wouldnt touch it.
The staff treated me like a real human, instead of a dumb woman like a lot of electronics places do. They helped me with my issue on my Macbook air and had me out the door super fast. Grade A+!
Awesome company. They fixed my Macbook Pro in 24 hours! Amazing. Very nice and friendly staff also.
Highly recommend bringing your Mac products here if you are having trouble with them before buying a new system! My 2012 MacBook Pro was in pretty rough shape when I brought it to Jason. It was running majorly slow and all of my apps were “not responding” and my metal on my screen was bent exposing the glass slightly. Jason was able to do a tune up fixing a long list of issues including a new hard drive, my bent metal, and now it runs like NEW! It had dust and nicotine buildup from being around my mothers smoking and it’s spotless now. Jason and everyone at Mactracks were extremely friendly and helpful! They genuinely want to make sure you are happy with the service and actually fix your problems which was refreshing. I had my computer back in a little over a week which still gave me a week before needing it for school. THANK YOU MACTRACKS!
DONT BRING YOUR COMPUTER HERE. I was hired by them and they lied about certifying me. They’re not Apple certified, so any repairs they do will void warranty and they definitely do not repair your computer correctly. It’s more of a rig it together and hope it works type deal.
My sons Macbook Pro from 2007 stopped working and the Apple store wouldnt look at it because they said it was too old. Mactracks handled it and now it works like new. Saved me from having to buy him an all new computer.
Dont normally write review but these guys deserve it. Great customer service and awesome work. Yall managed to save everything, including my sons birth pictures. That meant a lot to me. Thanks guys.
Professional individuals who seem knowledgeable about their job. I will definitely come back if needed
I had the pleasure of dealing with Jeff. He took care of my issue really quick. If I could give this place 6 stars I would!
They were awesome!! The display on my wifes phone stopped working, I took it in and Jason fixed it in less than 5 min!!! Amazing customer service, and top shelf work. Thanks a lot Mactracks!!
Dont use this company - its a SCAM!I took in my MAC Mini for what was an obvious short/problem in the power board. They charged me about $300 for re-programming a chip that they said was not longer working. Also when I dropped off the machine, they said that they would call me when it was ready. It was me calling them to find out if my machine was ready. When I took my machine home, set it up, it exhibited the same problem as before. I took it back to them, and then they called me back many days later, after Christmas to tell me that the logic had been shorted and was fried. They said when I plugged it in I fried it. For all I know, it was fried the first time. They could have fried it themselves as well. I use a very expensive surge protector for all my computers since I am a computer engineer by profession. I will be complaining about them to Apple as well. Stay away from this company!
My Mac book circa 2010 model would not book up. I have had terrible experiences with the Apple store especially on an older model Macbook. I took my computer in right as they Mactracks was closing on Monday morning and my computer was done Tuesday before 1pm. I understand that this is not a normal occurrence. I was told that they were caught up and they could get to my computer soon than later. I paid my $45.00 plus tax consult fee which was taken out of my full total of my repair. The staff at Mactracks did not only fix my computer they gave me great tips on how to handle my antique computer. I would highly recommend them.
I was recommended to Mactracks from a friend after I had noticed my Macbook Pro slowing down. I took it to them for evaluation, which cost $45.00. They told me what was wrong and even applied the money that I paid for the evaluation towards the repair. My hard drive was replaced, all my data preserved and I now have a fast Mac again - all within 24 hours! They are wonderful. Go to them if you need help, they will take care of you.
Do NOT take your computer to this place!! My dad took his IMac in and they charged the usual fee just to look at it. After determining there was nothing that could be done but replace the hard drive they wanted $600 more dollars from him! (Give me a break!! Thats half a new one!) On top of that they took the computer with the power cord and then gave it back without. When I went to retrieve the cord I called them first telling them why I was coming and when I got there they told me they never got the cord and they had the paperwork to prove it. Even after my Dad who is 72 btw called them and they said they had it!!! This place is a racket! I cant believe Apple would use them as an authorized repair!! BEWARE!
Jeff is awesome and has always helped me!! Mactracks has brought my MacBook Pro back to life !! These guys are the best in the business!!
Certified Mac technicians. Quality customer service. They notify you of your repairs before services are rendered. Quality job for what wouldve originally been an $800 dollar repair for $500. Even asked about unencrypting to enhance performance.
I have been here for computer repair many times and every time I come here, I get great customer service and they are willing to help me every time. I totally recommend Mactracks for anyone that is needing help!
The communication in this company is terrible. I ended up speaking with 3 different people, none of whom communicated to each other what was going on, leading to confusion and unnecessary trips down to their place of business. They are also overpriced, and have very limited data recovery options. If your Mac has been through liquid damage, you are much better off either waiting for an opening at the Genius bar, and if you need data recovery you would be best served going to a more competent company.
I LOVE Mactracks. Ive been going there for years and they always take care of me. Definitely recommend going here if you have any laptop troubles!
Stay away! They sold us a refurbished computer on December 8. It had a 30 day warranty and totally crashed 68 days later. They were not interested in helping us AT ALL! I get that the warranty had passed, but their customer service and interest in doing the right thing is awful. We even offered to give jt back to them without a refund of any sort if they would cut us a deal on replacing a screen on another computer we had. They said no because they did not want to sell a computer they couldnt guarantee yet they had no problem selling it to us just 2 months prior. They just lost our business and I hope they lose yours too.
Solid advice fixing my Macbook Pro while on a business trip. Got it working for the next day when I needed it.
Went in to fix my phone, turned out that I didn’t need his services, but he treated me extremely well and made sure I knew everything I needed after I left.
Absolutely the best service when dealing with an Apple product that is having challenges.I needed to upgrade a hard drive. As Macs have evolved - their complexity in modification have as well. I am a pretty handy person but after spending a few minutes looking at this project - it was above my head.I tried to use one of Apples certified techs on their website. The person I used simply created problem after problem.Mactracks was easy to work with, provided a VERY quick turnaround, for a fair fee.I will never mess with my Apple products again and just bring them directly to Mactracks.
Let me start off saying JUSTIN THANK YOU!!!!!! I came in with an overheating issue, and I could’ve not been any lucker than to be taken care of Justin. I must say that at the time when I was at mactracks there was something going on embarrassing If you ask me but Justin managed to act very professional and knowledgeable and took care of me at 1000% unlike other employees there. For any of my computer problems I will make sure I go back and ask for Justin and him only.
Spilled some Coke on my Macbook Pro. They were able to clean and repair parts for much cheaper than the Apple Store was quoting me. Very nice people.
I called Mactracks on a Monday and the guy told me over the phone that they werent busy and there is a good possibility to fix it on same day if they have all parts. I dropped it and was told that they will call me back to let me know what is wrong with it. No one called for the rest of the day. I called back Tuesday morning 3 times before someone finally called me back saying that they opened my laptop and they will not be able to fix it. I asked them if I can pick it up but he told me that he has to put it together and will call me back once it is ready in 1-2 hours. No one called and I had to call them the following day on Wednesday and I picked up on that day. They charged me $ 50 to tell me that they can not fix it.I took the computer to APPLE STORE & they changed the display monitor, track pad and the casing for $280 in 3 business days and it is working perfectly fine now.Poor service quality and poor customer service.
They attended right away, super friendly . They get the job done ! (:
I was sketched out from the minute I walked in... first off the employees had no idea or no clue about a simple question about a very common issue my Mac was having. I felt like it was their first day and I talked to a couple of them. Very unhelpful. Second, I was hoping I could just show them the error code and they’d have an Idea about what was wrong with my computer and give me at least a basic idea of the cost. I would think an experienced Mac repair guy could at least guess. But they said they wouldn’t know until I paid them 49.00 and they were so eager just to get my MacBook. And based on other reviews I wouldn’t be surprised if the bill came back over 500 for something I could fix for 50 bucks.I was surprised at the lack of experience, and how unhelpful they were.UPDATE: I took my computer around the corner to a pc repair guy, and he opened it up on the spot, didn’t have to wait... and it was for free.. didn’t charge anything. He Clicked a button and it was fixed. Then told me if the problem happens again to buy 20 dollar piece of hardware and the problem will be solved. Much better service and knowledge
My Macbook Retinas display was freezing up or sticking and after talking to Apple they told me it was a hardware problem. I took it to Mactracks because they specialize in Macs and were said to have a long history. I dropped the laptop off on a Thursday and as it turns out they had to replace the motherboard and LCD display. They ordered the parts same day and they came the next morning -- and turned it around in 24 hours!! I was very pleased with their service and friendliness. Thanks Andrew!

I dropped my laptop like one feet from the ground and my screen wouldn’t light up. Thought it would be an easy fix but they told me it was due to liquid damage and tried to charge me an arm and a leg. I ended up going to my schools IT helpdesk and they showed me that if the white dots turn red then it was liquid damaged. Mactracks lied in order to charge for a service that i did not need. Luckily for me the IT helpdesk people were honest people and fixed it in under 5 mins. Don’t trust them with your expensive equipment !!
On December 21st I had an appointment with the Plano Mactracks for an unresponsive keyboard. After handing over my computer and filling out requiste electronic paperwork, I was told that it would take to the 26th for the repair and determination if an apple warranty applied. I requested to know what was wrong with the computer and was told again that it would take that long. Then the gentlemen that I had handed my computer to reappeared and said he replaced a cable and that should fix my problem. I went from initial disappointment to an elated customer within 10 minutes. Would use them again.
Terrible experience and very bad customer service! I took my 27 iMac in for diagnostics at the recommendation of Apple tech support. Mactracks says that for non-spill situations, they will provide diagnostic feedback within 48 hours (business days). I heard nothing from them within that time period, and I patiently gave them 3 to 5 business days before I called them. At that time they told me they hadnt even looked at my computer yet. I was told to check back in a day or so. I did a couple of days later, and they still didnt have anything they could tell me. By the time I reached the 2 week point, I called them again and said I need to pickup my computer immediately, no matter what. They told me they were finally working on it that day and they would call me back within the next 30 to 60 minutes with an update on whats wrong. I received no call back. The next morning, 15 days after I first dropped off my computer, I personally went to their location to retrieve my iMac, and the manager there (who was subbing in from another one of their stores) begged me to let him have until 3:00 pm that day, and he guaranteed me theyd be done by then. I told him Id come by a little after 5:00 pm due to my schedule that day, giving them another 2 hours. When I arrived at 5:15 pm, they were still not done. Finally, just past 6:00 pm, they agreed to give me my iMac back and not charge me anything more than the $48 I already paid for diagnostics that werent completed anywhere near their initial turn around time commitment. Not only that, they were pissed that I was not pleased, and they had the audacity to try to shift the blame on me somehow instead of taking the high road and acting professional in spite of the situation. I will NEVER go there again of course, and I recommend that you stay away and stick to taking your Apple products to the Genius Bar at any Apple Store.
I wanted to give Mactracks a shot for an out of warranty battery replacement on my Macbook Pro. Apples website said the battery replacement is $199.00 + tax. After giving Mactracks my serial number to build a quote for battery replacement, my estimate was $685... $200 for battery, $400 for top case and $85 for labor. When I mentioned that Apple says battery replacement is $199 on Apples support website, he just said that the top case has to be replaced too and they stuck to the estimate. I politely left and informed them I was going to take it to a genius bar to have them give me a quote, as I was firm on knowing there was a way to replace this battery without causing damage to a $400 component. After taking into Apple Store Stonebriar, they told me that the price of $199 was correct, and that this price included the top case replacement and labor, which Mactracks quoted me $400 and $85, respectively.Im not going to say that Mactracks was trying to cheat me out of money, but I think theres a lack of training with Apple Macbook Pro line. I will be reporting this incident to Apple as a battery replacement (though as complex as Apple has made them) should NOT cost $685.
This is a great business to use and the service was great as well. They guy who helped me, Jason, was more than polite. As well as, more than willing to go above and beyond in helping set up and secure my rebuilt laptop. There pricing was fair with no complaints. And due to the amount of problems I had to get fixed, they even discounted one piece of work to what Im sure was close to cost. What Im saying is, they helped me out. They were respectful and timely .The computer was done when they said it would be and just to say it again, the service was great.I will be keeping in touch with them for maintenance, advice, and anything I need .ThanksChris
Dropped my 27 iMac off to have a solid state hard drive installed along with additional ram...they installed it in 3 days and the computer is rockstar fast again! Very pleased!!
Ive been going to Mactracks for over a decade. If you want to experience great service or need repairs fast Mactracks is the place to go.
I work for a large Service Provider and we have Apple Care. The Apple Care Team suggested we call MackTracks but they wouldnt budge on 1-4 days of diagnosing before fixing my laptop. Its a broken monitor ... honestly; the diagnosis is it should be replaced.I thought it was unreasonable so I asked if there was anything we could do to reduce the time away from my workstation because I need it for work and I was told Were not a Genius Bar.I went on to say, I dont think this is going to work out and before I could finish my sentence; I heard the phone hang up.I was not impressed by their support team.
Fast, friendly and high-quality work to revive my aging MacBook. Reasonable service fee.
Susan the owner and Eric know what customer service is all about. Eric was very extremely helpful in fully explaining the issue with my device and was able to fully take care of my issue.
Super nice and helpful, much more personable than a generic genius!
My 2012 MacBook Pros battery was not charging and all the genius bars nearby were all booked up until weekend, so I decided to come to this place. The staff was great, courteous, helpful, and got my battery replacement done in 30 min. Very fast and my computer works great.2 things though: the charge for battery installation alone is $45, which I dont believe they do at the Genius Bar(I could be wrong though); the other thing is, I didnt know the battery they gave me is not the genuine Apple until I read the bill, and its still $129, which is the price for a genuine battery for 13 MacBook. I wanted to think the staff told me about this but I didnt recall, he only told me they have it in the back and if I take it I can get my laptop back immediately, I was not aware of any other options. In conclusion this battery only stands for 30 days warranty instead of full one.I guess thats what you pay for, convenience and speed, but if I have known that these 2 things before I went, I might have had waited to visit Genius Bar instead. Authorized shops provide same service but beware they do charge more.
Horribly rude, horribly incompetent.I reached out to your this location today to inquire about upgrade services for a friends iMac, and I have never been so insulted or offended by anyone as I was by the lead technician I spoke to.We have an older 2011 iMac that we are upgrading to a 2013 one we had laying around. The 2011 has had its HD upgraded to a SSD and we wanted to put it into the 2013 model, however I dont have the tools or know-how to do it myself on the slimline newer generations. their site advertised HD to SSD upgrades so I figured we would hire them to do it for us.The moment I finished saying we wanted to upgrade a HD to SSD on the phone....this lead technician fired back with why do you want to do that? and began listing off all kinds of made up reasons why we shouldnt. Claiming its a horrible idea and that 80% of them fail and its not a good idea at all to do. He stated we should upgrade it to a 7200RPM HD.However I did still want to get the SSD installed so I inquired about pricing. He informed me it was $600 for a 1TB SSD installed or $200 for a 1TB HD. I didnt even get to finish my sentence stating that we had a SSD already we would like installed before he cut me off saying:PC components cant be used in Macs, you should really read an article online before even talking to us as you are making every mistake possibleWow. What horrible customer service they have. Not only was he rude and combative at every step of the way to a new customer, he was wrong about everything he told me. I dont know where he got the 80% failure rate on SSDs, or where he got the idea that SSDs are platform specific? Umm ive been building and upgrading computers for 10 years format the drive how you want it and youre good to go. Believe me if I had the tools or ability to crack open these slim line newer iMacs I wouldnt be looking for someone to give money to do it for me....Having been treated like this by a lead technician I cant believe anyone would ever want someone so inept and horribly rude to ever touch a computer of mine. I dont even know what else to say other then again, just how absolutely horrible he was to speak to and Ive never been so insulted by someone so absolutely wrong.
My vintage iMac, running 10.6.8, began crashing randomly after years of reliable operation. I run the old OS because I have several important PowerPC apps that require Rosetta and I am extremely reluctant to give them up. Other Mac service companies were not sympathetic and would only help if they upgraded the OS to a newer version. Mactracks were very accommodating and, understanding my dilemma, worked diligently until the problem was resolved.I would highly recommend Mactracks services as their technical expertise and personal commitment to their customers was certainly demonstrated in my case. My old Mac is happily solid again!
The service, craftsmanship, and expertise of the whole Mactracks team has been consistently excellent over my many trips to seek their advice & services for both my small corporate needs, as well as the handful of times when Ive shown up - without a moments prior notice, of course - in desperate need of repair for a cracked/damaged/possibly-waterlogged [insert mobile Apple device of your choosing] which had just been on the wrong end of a childs accidental handling.
Replaced a broken display on a newish MacBook Pro. Comparable pricing to Apple Store but materials sourced and worked done in-house. 2 day turnaround.
Excellent service. I was unsure of what the problem was with a 2011 Macbook. They found the problem, fixed it and all within 10-15 mins. Can totally recommend :-)
3-5 days to diagnose a display problem on a Macbook pro is ridiculous. Not the place to come if you are under warranty. They obviously dont prioritize repairs that are probably less profitable. Plus the place is a mess and intake process has a gaping hole in the fact that they ask for SN after they take the equipment away from you.
MacTracks to the Rescue! Pressed for time during my lunch hour, I stopped into MacTracks for help with a recently purchased Iphone. I explained to Susan and her staff that I needed my phone fixed as soon as possible; as I needed to return to work immediately. She asked me to wait while she spoke the tech responsible for iphones. She arrived shortly to explain that the tech was starting work on my phone and that it would only be a few minutes. Shortly after that the technician explained that the phone was ready…he accessed my Apple warranty details and confirmed that my visit would be at no charge. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Thank you Susan and staff for your help and support with my IPhone. You guys are awesome! I will definitely return for any additional Apple needs.
Fabulous people who cleaned my iPhone of pocket lint that I couldnt even see, and steadfastly refused to accept money for it.I will come running back to them when I have a real problem.
Macbook Pro owner Christmas break 2012. The minute I walked into the store Jason greeted me. Jason told me exactly what was wrong without being negative. If he used a word I did not understand he would explain it. After a couple days they called me and explained some other problems that were unrelated to the video card and asked if I would like those fixed as well. The computer is perfect now and has been since Mactrack fixed it about three months ago.Highly recommended.(2018-computer still works, spending another 600$ for upkeep in 2017)
I was an idiot and dropped my macbook air and cracked the screen, but these guys were a LIFESAVER! I paid for the screen up front and they had it fixed the next morning! The Apple store said it would take 5-7 business days! I cant recommend them enough!
Professional execution with responsive staff. These folks are my go-to for all Apple technical issues.
Short Story Short? NEVER I mean NEVER! FALL FOR THIS PLACES BULL! They are hustling you, they provide false information, and they overcharge for a 2.5 SSD that is 69.99 msrp at a retail Best Buy and say it is 400 Dollars!!!So heres the story. My mother needs to fix her 2011 MacBook Pro due to a malfunctioned hard drive. I am out of town so I am unable to assist her in fixing her computer (Im build computers for a living). She uses this Mac for her business so it is vital that she gets this fixed as soon as she can, so Apple refers her to this place called Mactracks. She goes there and talks to a man named Andrew....ya buddy Im calling you out, me and you are gunna talk soon about getting you some real computer and human phycology lessons. Andrew tells her its $48 for an initial consultation, and $45 to SEE if theyre able to transfer. Okay I have a best friend that works in Best Buy geek squad that verified this for me to make sure if these kind of charges really exist, they do. So Andrew offers her a deal, that transferring her data is $284 to a disc or external drive then that she needs a SPECIAL SSD for her 2011 MacBook Pro that costs $400!!! WHAT!!! 400 dollars!!!! BULL!!! I found one for her that was a 2.5 128 gig sandisk SSD that YES! is comparable with the 2011 MacBook Pro 15inch ..... and if you think that the tech to transfer the info to the new drive is expensive? thermalthake has a drive bay to usb for 40 bucks on newegg. -_- So that ends my rant. These people are scammers trying to find the technologically non-advanced people and tell them that they have a huge problem with your computer and WAY overcharge you DONT FALL FOR IT and do your research.Andrew..... MacTracks Thank you for giving me a laugh and halarious story to tell my colleagues, I will be sure to let them know to tell there customers to NEVER go to your store!
Thank you, Mactracks, for taking a look at my Macbook Pro today. Too expensive to fix, but its good to know for sure.
HACK SHOP, Poor workmanship, the customer is alway wrong. Their poor reviews are not by accident.
I had a faulty Hard drive on my iMac and brought it into Mactracks for a HD replacement. They diagnosed the problem and called me with my available options for replacement and didnt try to pressure me with expensive upgrades. The work was completed quickly and professionally and had my iMac back to me within 24 hours. They even assisted me with recovering all my old data back from Time Machine and helped me restore my licensed Adobe software.I was blown away with their knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness. This was one of the best customer experiences I have ever had and would recommend Mactracks to everyone. You want a REAL Mac Genius, forget the Apple store and their snooty associates. Go to Mactracks and you will get honest and friendly service.
I had a very negative experience with Mactracks. I took my 15 inch MacBook Pro to Mactracks with a possible water damage and stopped powering up. They charged me $95 for diagnosis and came and told me it’s total loss, when I asked what does that mean they said, logic board, hard drive, video cable and Memory are all damaged and need to replace them which would cost more than original. They also offered to extract the data from the hard drive for an additional $190. Needless to say I wasn’t totally sure about their claims and took the laptop back and shipped it to PowerbookMedic in Huntsville, AL. These guys are awesome diagnosed free of charge and said that Logic Board and Battery need to be replaced cost is $980, I got it fixed and typing this review on it. So either the guys at Mactracks are incompetent or liars,
I had an issue with my 2011 iMac video card that had a green bars video issue. But they ran there test and didnt find no issue. $45 charge for the test. It was worth it.Because so far i have not seen the issue happen again. So in my opinion they did something. Only issue i have. Andrew is knowledgeable. But when i emailed the first time i told them i had a iMac with a SSD and HD inside. Who ever was replying did not believe me. He kept calling it a fusion drive. I told him no its not. It got to the point he made me think I was wrong when i order my 2011 mac. Well in the end. I decided not to let them upgrade my SSD and HD because i felt who ever was replying to the emails was not up to date on iMac designs from 2009-2016. So i took the chance and did it myself. I wish i could add pictures. I WAS RIGHT!. There was a HD and a separate SSD (toshiba) inside the mac. Took only 1hr to upgrade both. HD you need a OWC adapter with sensor. But SSD was easy. Just moved the cdrom and done.. Well that my review. I have to say they are honest, if they find nothing you only pay $45 dollars. Other then that upgrade. Do it yourself. Youtube it.. and save your money.
I took a tumble with my 2011 MacBook Pro in arms, and we hit a table perfectly wrong. The cover was bent slightly, but the screen, glass and track pad were broken. Couldnt have happened at a worse time because I had a deadline to meet that afternoon, and its my only machine. There were a few open Word Docx that did not save to my Dropbox folder and I had to work on them. I took my machine to Mactracks at 9:30 a.m. I explained the situation to Andrew and Cory. First thing they did was hook up a monitor to my machine so that I could save the Word Docx to my Dropbox folder so I could work on them on another machine until mine was fixed. Andrew told me that there were a few repairs in front of mine and that they would try to get to it that day, but that it would be ready the next day for sure. I left breathing a big sigh of relief knowing that my documents were not lost and that I could work on them as long as I could get to a machine. I was working away and at 1:30 my phone rang. It was Andrew calling to tell me that I could pick up my machine at 2:30. They fixed all my permissions as part of the service. I was ecstatic and back on my machine at 3:00. This is the second time I have used Mactracks. Last year the same MacBook crashed and I had to put in a new circuit board. Same type of service and I had my machine back the next day. Mactracks is beyond good and timely service. When anyone has an Mac repair or issue, I tell them to go to Mactracks and not to bother with the Apple store.
Absolutely the worst service do not go here! They charge for diagnostics but just go to an actual Apple store they aren’t going to help at all!
I took my Macbook Pro into Mactracks after spilling coffee on it a few months ago. It was managing fine, but my keyboard and trackpad were lagging very badly (which had everything to do with the liquid damage). I would like to commend Mactracks for fixing the problem there, because everything is working fine now, and Im grateful for that. However, its already extremely sucky and inconvenient to have spilt coffee on my Macbook Pro, which is not a cheap repair. Its even worse when the costly repair is done, to find 5 deep scratches on the top part of the aluminum body that were created by the company you paid to fix it. Its like being punched again, while youre already on the ground. If Mactracks would have taken ownership of their misconduct with my machine and offered me a significant discount instead of blaming me for the cosmetic damage, I would have felt a lot better. Instead I left the store, contemplated what to do, and turned right back around because the whole situation wasnt right. After I took it back to the store and firmly told the manager that I did not cause the scratches and they needed to fix their problem, he offered to give me a case. A $20 case (seriously?) ! Im not as much upset about the scratches as I am about the principle that I paid $600+ and my machine wasnt even taken care of in the process. If he would have just taken the blow and offered me a significant discount, things may be different. In the future I will choose a repair shop where I feel zero anxiety about the integrity of my device being compromised.
This place is sucks bad service and high prices, I would not recommend!
Awesome! My kids spilt juice on my Mac Book Pro. I took it back to Apple only to be told that it would cost a minimum of 750.00 to repair. Ouch!!! Long story short, Mactracks repaired my Mac for less than 100.00 and it is as good as new. They are very friendly, awesome to deal with. I totaly recommend them!!cbArgyle tx
