I can not speak highly enough about Michael and his crew. From the moment we first met I wanted to work with him and Top Notch Remodeling. Michael came out to our house and was friendly with my small kids, our dog, and walked us through every step of the process.The design was perfect for our taste, the guys on-site were professional, on-time, and did exceptional work. If something was wrong then they fixed it as soon as it was pointed out. I’m very pleased with the decision to hire Top Notch and will be doing it again in the future. They did a tub to shower conversion for my parents. We were very pleased with the work. They were timely and friendly and cleaned up well. It looks great!

Michael and his foreman, Robert, were great to work with on our kitchen remodel. Their communication and attention to detail is fantastic and they were quick to address all of our questions and requests. We had a tight deadline to meet and they were able to beat it, even with some unexpected work that was needed on the project.Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend them!

Update 8/54/21 - read below for the original work these guys did. I have already reviewed Top Notch. They did a great job and finished about 3 months ago. A small part of the job, they installed a fan we had purchased but after using the room (and long after the project was done), we decided to switch out fans. We hired a guy who just does lights and fans and who we had used before. He switched out the fans and told us that one of the wires coming out of the ceiling was not working right. One of three neutral wires must have been damaged or loose and occasionally it would cause the fan not to work. I quickly called Top Notch. Within a few hours their electricians came back, found a loose connection in one of the outlet boxes and fixed it. Thats what I call standing behind your work!We had an unfinished basement and we wanted half of it (about 1,000 square feet) finished. We had an idea of what we wanted so we got multiple bids on doing the work. Top Notch was the highest bidder but not by a lot. The things that sold us on Top Notch was Michael. He is a true professional and very personable. He walked us through how we would use the space and made lots of great suggestions and we incorporated many of them into our design. We did all this on the first visit. We made a few refinements later. We wanted our work to be done with a permit and Michael did all the prep work and when I went for the permit it was a piece of cake. We delayed the start of the project due to Covid but when we found out we were having out of town visitors we reversed course and asked Michael to start early and he juggled things and did it. This company is everything you want in a remodel service. Michael was always available whether by text, email or phone. He communicated perfectly. They were here when they said they would be here, they came in through the basement window with just about everything making a minimal disturbance upstairs where we lived. The work was excellent and we passed all inspections and we were done early. We added a few things along the way and that cost extra but it was reasonable. There was a clause in the contract saying Michael could pass along material cost increases since the contract was signed months before the work was done. This did happen but Michael only passed along 40% of it which we thought was reasonable. One other item to mention is that we did our own sourcing of the non-construction materials like cabinets, counter tops, flooring, doors etc. This saved us a lot of money but required us to coordinate deliveries or have it stored at our house in advance of the need for the material. It all worked out fine in the end. Bottom line, on our remodel of our master bathroom we are going with Michael again. You get what you pay for.

We used Top Notch to remodel our basement this past summer. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. Because it was during Covid19 the dry wall guys came through the basement escape window instead of coming through the house. The design and quality is very good. I would definitely use them again and refer them.

If you need work done, call Michael quickly and book him - he’s excellent. He did our countertops and kitchen, and we had him back for more. He’s honest, very good, and since then he’s the only one we call.

Mike and his crew did an excellent job on the remodel of our main bedroom bathroom...so much so, that we had them come back and remodel our second bathroom. I wish I had know of them when I remodeled my basement when I first bought the house The ARE TRULY TOP NOTCH!

Top Notch Remodeling Inc. recently finished a theater room in my basement. I received five different bids for the job and Top Notch was by the far the best priced bid without sacrificing quality. Michael and his team are extremely professional, and there was not a moment throughout the entire process I didnt know what was going on. Arek and Christian were incredible, working long days to finish the project ahead of schedule for me. The quality of the final product surpassed my lofty expectations and I now have a great family and entertaining space. I will be using Top Notch Remodeling for all my future needs and I cant recommend them enough for your next project.

When I purchased my home both of my showers were leaking. The upstairs shower was leaking into my living room ceiling and the main floor shower leaked into the basement when used. Michael (the owner) who was recommended by my realtor, came to my house the same day of the call and assessed the situation, one of his foreman came the next day and fixed the issue for the upstairs shower within an hour which was an emergency. When they came back to fix and remodel the floor on my main floor shower, Robert came and patched the hole in my ceiling, my bedroom and re-did the shower floor and tiles all within 3 days, and it looks great! Highly recommend Top Notch Remodeling. I will be using them again for future projects in my home.PS. They are very good at cleaning after themselves, everyday Robert cleaned his area.

We had a WONDERFUL experience with Top Notch Remodeling as they finished our basement in about 6 weeks. The owner is fantastic & always made us feel like we were their only job. The crew was always professional (arrived when they said they would, did what they were supposed to, and never left a mess behind). After the job was complete & we noticed a couple quirks/issues, they came out to make repairs in a timely manner at no additional expense. My only negative would be that I feel the bid was a smidge high, but they were recommended from our neighbor who used them for the same job a couple years prior. All in all, Id use them again & Ive already recommended them to another family. Thanks Top Notch - were looking forward to entertaining in our new space (especially the kids).

We had Top Notch remodel our master bathroom and couldn’t be happier with the result. Company owner Michael and site supervisor Chris came to our house to evaluate the space and find out what our needs and ideas were. He took some measurements and verified that what we wanted could be structurally accomplished within the space. Michael offered some suggestions of his own and then worked up an estimate for us. Once we approved the estimate and made all our selections for the bathroom, we were put on the schedule. Robert was the carpenter assigned to our project. He was an excellent tradesman and completed the whole project completely on his own, from demolishing the existing bathroom to rebuilding it to the chosen specifications. He showed up everyday and got right to work, even in the middle of the polar vortex that kept most people confined to their homes! He always put in a full day’s work, not just showing up for an hour and then saying he was finished for the day, as we have found with other contractors in the past. There were a couple of design plans that didn’t work out as well in the actual space as they did on paper, and Michael and Robert offered an alternative that was even better than the original. Robert took care to layout drop cloths everyday when he came in and cleaned up everyday when he left. In the end, we are very pleased with the work provided by Top Notch and would not hesitate to use their services again!

These guys are amazing! I originally hired Top Notch to finish our basement in 2003 and I have used them for several big jobs since then. Michael does such a great job of really listening to what we want, and brings his expertise and creativity to make it all work better than we imagined! The entire Top Notch crew is so easy to have around; they are polite, efficient and super CLEAN!! We had such a great experience with Top Notch that they have finished 3 basements for us over the years, two garages (including one that was an airplane hangar conversion), and completed commercial work for me at my business. We had our kitchen remodeled. Michael mad sure everything ran smoothly. The cabinets from Seigel were great and the granite counter top and sink from Granite Corp were beautiful. Robert did most of the labor (except the counter) and he did an excellent job. He was always on time and cleaned up each day he left. I would use TopNotch for andthing in our home.

It started when Michael came to our house for our consultation. He listened to what we were looking for and helped us come up with a great plan. He has a really cool program on his computer that gave us a visual on what the basement will look like. That was extremely helpful! Pricing was very reasonable as well so we decided to choose them. 2 days later they began working on framing it out. Arek and Christian were great as well! These guys work! None of this showing up for a few hours here or there. They come ready to put in a 9 hour day everyday. My wife and I were amazed with how much progress was being made in such a short time. First off, Michael accepted my call on a Saturday afternoon which seems to be rare in the GC field. He was kind and courteous and helped answer all of my questions. While he wasnt able to procure exactly what I was looking for with such short notice, less than 24 hours, he was able to come up with a creative solution to my problem. We have used Top Notch Remodeling multiple times over the last 6 years ranging from swapping out an island countertop to remodeling multiple bathrooms to carving out and finishing a nook for the kids under the basement stairs. They are great at coming up with ideas to help you think through your options. We have never been disappointed; they do great work. Already looking ahead for our next project.

Used this company on a previous home. Couldnt have been happier. Though Michael never returned after the initial interview, Chris and crewman Robert were on top of everything on our Master Bath and Dressing Room remodel. Results were great. Crew was clean and exacting. Fast forward to a new home and a remodel of Kitchen, Office and Bathroom. We had asked about Robert in October and were told he was booked until February. We said wed wait. In March a different crew was sent that we were assured were as good as Robert. They were terrible! Messy, sloppy and lax. The quality of work deteriorated with each week. A pantry was outfitted with brackets and shelves from Menards that we could have done ourselves - not at all the custom work we were promised. The pantry door frame had 10 holes in each hinge area where they just couldnt get it right and they never painted the doors to match the woodwork. A new floor was two inches higher than the connecting floor right in the middle of a hallway. Chris told us no one would even notice. (People continue to trip on it when heading to the bathroom). When the porcelain floor tile started popping off less than one year later in the Kitchen, they fixed it but we were told it the problem was that the existing floor was uneven. (Why didnt they do a subfloor?). We did not want the previous crew coming back to take care of it but Chris insisted they knew what they were doing. Now the tile is popping off of the new floor THEY built. Grout is coming up everywhere in this new floor as in the old floor. $43,000 later we do not want this group even setting foot in our house. Another disturbing fact is that Chris kept making excuses for this crews botched performance and Michael never showed up throughout the entire months long process. Very inconsistent.

These guys are the absolute BEST! Knowledgeable, courteous and professional.

Top Notch Remodeling remodeled my kitchen last fall. Beginning this January the grout between the backsplash and countertop started cracking and falling apart all over my new countertop. I contacted Michael immediately. He said he would send someone to repair the problem. I have sent emails and left several telephone messages since January and the problem has not been corrected. I am very disappointed and will not do business with them in the future.

They were hired to redo our kitchen in 2004. Terrible to deal with. Im sure they have gotten better over the years but our experience wast good and it cost us thousands more over the years to fix and repair or replace what they did to our kitchen.mrreplace
