I write this review non-biased and within a business is business thought process. JoAnn Palmieri is not only my Aunt Jo, but a mentor whom has guided me through starting multiple businesses, important financial decisions and life coaching in general. I could not have accomplished what I have without her advisement. My admiration of her business and life strategies has made me successful, thorough and meticulous with client communication and overall business strategy. She handles my personal and business taxes, as well as my retirement planning, which takes a huge weight off my shoulders every year. She is not only detail oriented, strategic and professional, but a prolific figure whom is admired within her community. She has won countless awards for her business and neighborly achievements and activities and I’m proud to say I’ve been able to be part of the award ceremonies.

This was my first year using Palmieri and Associates. I came across her office after a simple google search for tax services near me. I have gone to H&R Block for many years and the price for their services goes up every year. This year I had enough and went elsewhere. With the pandemic and being pregnant i simply put filing on the back burner and forgot about it until literally 3 days before they were due. I called her office and she so kindly took me in that same day! One of the things I hated most about H&R Block was my husband and I having to sit there both for hours while going through every line of the tax form. She allowed me to simply drop them off. She was very kind and professional and had my taxes done, in hand, and out the door the following day. Most importantly, she saved me money! I will absolutely use her in the future! It’s unfortunate I didn’t come across her office sooner! 😊

I was billed over $1300 and my taxes were never even filed. I was billed hourly rates after multiple meetings in which I was instructed to categorize my expenses, (which I did so modeling after an IRS Schedule C), then telling me its too much detail, then not enough detail. During meetings I was up-sold for additional services, complained-to about other clients, told about a pets medical problems, and waited while phone calls from other clients were taken. Finally, after failing to get a response to a latter e-mail for over a week (time I could have used to file my taxes had there simply been up front and honest communication), I was brought in, told that an extension was going to be filed and was dismissed as a client. Why would a business bill me for that time that was not devoted for professional services? Who does that?One prior e-mail with several tax-related questions, was responded to with something very much like youve got to be kidding me, right? I thought all of that was very unprofessional.For perspective, I took the exact same information to another tax professional, who had them ready to be filed after a single 90-minute meeting, and did not waste time telling me too much or not enough and did not complain to me about other clients. Who knew that true professionals dont make laypeople do all of the work and then bill them for it. Lesson, learned.

I have done business with JoAnn over the years and find her to be absolutely honest, trustworthy, kind, to-the-point, refreshing. Whenever I need the services she provides, JoAnn is my first preference for correct information and assistance. She has been in business for a long, long time. If she did not possess the qualifications needed to remain in business, she would not STILL be in business!

She was very honest about her charges and I was impressed with all the experience she had. She was very helpful. She told me stuff I wasnt aware of. I met JoAnn more than ten years ago and immediately we hit it off. We were collegues at the time, but I knew right away that we would become friends. She always impressed me with her integrity...it was more important to her to do the right thing and protect her clients than to make an extra buck. Thats a rare trait to find in someone these days it seems. About 5 years ago I left the company I was working with and started on my own. JoAnn and I remained friends and I knew there was no one else I would trust with my taxes. I sleep at night because of her! She is detailed, but honest. She is always ahead of the curve so there arent any surprises when the laws inevitably change. I will never use anyone else!

I was charged nearly $1500 for this woman to file an extension on my taxes. I went to a different accountant who then had to refile my local and state taxes as they were done incorrectly. When I attempted to contact the office to request an itemized bill and fee for service schedule, Ms. Palmieri hung up on me.
