Finally had a chance to try Cafe Notte after driving by so many times. My fiance and I had a wonderful meal and experience from making the reservation online, to the hostess seating us and Megan serving us. We had the calamari, which was good, the shrimp scampi - which was amazing. The sauce and flavor was just perfect. Same for the Veal Pepper Aglio eOlio dish. We live close, well be back and cant wait to try more! Thank You.
Finally had a chance to have dinner at Cafe Notte last night. It was out of this world delicious. We shared the Stuffed Banana Pepper appetizer noticing how good the red sauce was. The Cesar salad was perfect and the Chicken Romano was fantastic. My husband loved his Puttanesca. Service was excellent by all the staff, Dave our waiter especially. I have to also mention the Lemon mascarpone cake was amazing too. Perfect everything!! How have I never eaten here before?
Our meal was excellent, great food and service. The veal ossobuco was fantastic, Im looking forward to it being added to the menu
We recently celebrated a family birthday on Cafe Notte’s patio, and I also returned for dinner last night with a friend. Both times Meghan took care of us and did a wonderful job! She’s kind and so efficient! The food of course is also outstanding. Great menu with options for everyone and inclusive of all dietary restrictions. Drinks and desserts also excellent! The owners and other staff members also made a point to interact with us on both occasions, and were all so personable and welcoming. Cafe Notte is a stellar “small business” and will likely become a “regular” for us! Highly recommend.
Cafe Nottes food has been consistently excellent and kept us coming back for years. Beyond the food, and I say this as someone who was once never one to seek out live music with my dining, we especially like visiting on Thursdays for Buckys acoustic nights. Being in the under 40 crowd, the likes of Cat Stevens were on our radar before, but weve since gained a newfound fandom after hearing such excellent covers.
Food is always really good. Homey feeling.
Blown away by how friendly everyone was. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and both got pasta. It was fantastic! Will definitely go back
Outside seating on a beautiful night. Scallop dinner, garden salad very good.Desserts all fantastic
Very nice atmosphere! First time going there despite passing it a million times. Met the owner in the parking lot, not knowing who she was and she was very friendly, as were the entire staff. I didnt eat due to an earlier meal but I was in the company of 3 grown men who absolutely loved their meals, drinks and appetizers. Since it was a little family gathering, the owner ( Im sorry I didnt hear her name!) moved us into another area away from the live entertainment so we could talk. We dined in front of a beautiful fireplace. Again, everyone went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. My boyfriend and I will definitely go back on our own. Although Ive been vaccinated, it was reassuring seeing staff and customers adhering to Covid safety policies. This would be a great place to meet up with friends or for a nice romantic dinner for two. You wont be disappointed on any level!!!
Cozy, unique place to have dinner. The food was delicious and it was served quickly.
Had dinner with friends. It was Delicious and the service was very good. I would recommend it highly.
We made a reservation for a Saturday and was seated without an issue. Was sitting at the table without a single staff member coming to get an order or even a drink for 35 minutes. Ended up leaving the place without ordering a single thing. Cant comment on the quality of food as the poor service wouldnt allow a food order.
Recommend this place. Nice service, great food.
Had the strip steak with onions and mushrooms was below average the steak was tough. My wife had the crab cakes I tried one they tasted like they were frozen. Nothing special about the place. Only really good thing was the location, other than that 2 thumbs down.
Good experience! All the staff was nice. Food was great! Will definitely go back to eat there.
Went for dinner a couple days ago and was very disappointed in the food, on top of poor food it took forever to get are food. We ordered appetizers and they showed up about 5 min before are main meal witch took about 50 min. For the price we paid it should have been a lot better. Very disappointed!!
Perfect evening out. Wonderful service and fantastic food! 👏
This place is fantastic! Been meaning to dine here before and wish I wouldve sooner! Got take out because, well you know Coronavirus, but this place deserves a dine in. This place is a welcoming and fantastic, comfortable atmosphere. The food is delicious and a bargain at the price. Highly recommend!
My husband and I went for dinner this past weekend and the food was terrible. Ordered the fried calamari and it was mushy the rest of are meal seemed like it was heated in a microwave. I had the eggplant and my husband had the nottee burger. Definitely won’t be back.
We went for a night out and decided to stop at cafe Notte, the food wasn’t anything special and the service was awful. The hostess was very obnoxious and the young man behind the bar seemed to be to busy to wait on us. We won’t be going back.
They wont answer their phone on a Saturday night for takeout. Missing out on business....
I really like this place go here almost every time I am in Pittsburgh.Great staff good food and a nice environment
Amazing. So grateful for the amazing nite. Xo
Warm, casual elegance. Refreshing change of pace. Phenomenal food with a great wine list. Local family owned and operated-and you can see how they and the staff care. Chef with top training made her Pittsburgh debut here a few months ago. I was surprised before going to see the high rating, now that Ive gone I can see why they maintain it.
Nice patio experience
Food and service was GREAT
This is definitely a hidden gem. Delicious menu, great atmosphere and service. You need to try this one!
One of the best italian restaurant, great customer service from owners and staff.
Real nice place. Staff was quick and friendly. Food was fantastic. Very impressed. Highly recommend. Next time Im out that way Ill be back for sure. 5 very well deserved stars for sure.
Food was excellent, service was exceptional, all in our group enjoyed their respective meals.
Nice atmosphere, mediocre staff, mediocre food. Seemed family friendly.
Great service, food and very COVID aware friendly. The food was very filling and tasty.
Food was excellent. Great atmosphere. Service was great.
I went for a wedding. It was a perfect venue for it. The food was absolutely fantastic and the portions generous. It was above average for typical event catering food. If you are planning to go to eat there as a restaurant, I would call first. We used the entire venue. If I came to eat as a restaurant customer I would not have been pleased.
Food was excellent..had chicken, veggies and potatoes..all cooked perfectly.
The food was delicious.
I got married Saturday. We had a small family wedding at Cafe Notte. I Can’t say enough good things about Debi the owner, the waitresses, the food was out of this world and the venue atmosphere was awesome! Everyone who attended raved about everything. Thanks to all of you at Cafe Notte for making our wedding day so great!!❤️❤️
I have seen this place countless times driving by on Ohio River Blvd. and only yesterday did I finally go, for a friends birthday dinner. Color me impressed! It doesnt look like much from the outside, but on the inside there is a very cozy bar area with plenty of tables, then another dining room with a fireplace, a piano, and a gorgeous ambiance overall.THE FOOD!! Its delicious! They change the lasagna every couple of days and have different chefs creations changing all the time. I was a little surprised at the prices based on the location, but I was not disappointed at all. Portions are very generous, everyone in our party of 9 LOVED what they ordered. Not to mention Kendras service was attentive, detailed, informative, and full of great recommendations. The owners even came over to meet us a few times. I want to celebrate all my special occasions at Cafe Notte from now on - if you are in doubt, GO! :-)
First time here and on Valentine’s Day! We made reservations in advance for 6:30pm. The free valet was a pleasant surprise and he was super friendly! We were sat at a two person table near the fire inside the room of stairs. The acoustic music was awesome- mix of modern day and classic love songs! Our waitress was very attentive and visited our table multiple times through out the night. We had another lady filling our waters on top of our waitress which was an additional perk. We spoke with the general manager I think (older man) and the cook even swung by our table. Menu was reasonably priced for the night with tons of options, wine was great, cheese board was delish and dinner as well. Overall awesome experience and we will be back! ❤️
Went here with friends after a jazz concert. The owners were very welcoming. The food was good and our server was attentive as well. Id go back!!!
Love this place. quaint atmosphere and Delicious food. Would definitely recommend for Date night or a casual outing.
The food was sub par but the worst part of are night was the annoying hostess. She was loud and ruined are night. Not everyone needs to here your life story. We won’t be back.
I recently organized a surprise birthday party at Cafe Notte for 60+ people. The owner, Debbie, was most helpful in organizing everything. The preparation phase was easy and painless. The food was delicious and the staff were excellent. The guests kept commenting on how nice the place and the food was. I would highly recommend Cafe Notte for special events.
This place used to be awesome. I often entertained family friend and business associate s there. My husband and I enjoyed dining there. However, our last two dining experiences were way below standard. The service was subpar as was the food. We will not be going back.
The staff is friendly and full of smiles. The food is not BAD. And I certainly know some folks who LOVE Cafe Notte. But its just not a place I enjoy. Part of what I dont care for is the location: theres something about having dinner right on the boulevard that turns me off. And I was there for a private party where the staff couldnt get their audio equipment to work correctly, which pretty much ruined the event. I wish I enjoyed this restaurant, but its not for me.
Appetizer was amazing. Had clams, mussels, squid and shrimp.. Bread and oil was fantastic. The lamb and steak were very under-seasoned but cooked good. I would NOT recommend the tiramisu and leave it at that. They did replace it with a chocolate mousse cake which was good. Coffee was great. Service was very good also. There was a dinner party next to us that was so loud that really ruined our visit. What was more upsetting I believe it was the owner. Tad bit over priced for the quality.
Recently held a bridal shower for my niece. This is one of their favorite restaurants. Because our event was midday, we served all appetizers. Our servers were beyond attentive, the room was absolutely gorgeous, everyone raved about the food. With hindsight the only thing I wish Ihad been aware of were the types of tables were available and would have requested all low tables.
Cozy Italian place. Tasty food. Good service. Twinkling stars in the ceiling!
We have gone here the past several years for our friends Christmas dinner, every year has been fabulous, with the exception of this year. The service was still excellent; however the food was just okay, my friend ordered a medium filet, it came out bloody, she sent it back and it came back out medium rare. There was a large party in the big room, which could have contributed to the food preparation. Not sure if well be going back next year.😞
Easy to get to on route 65 and romantic setting for you and your bride. Also a nice place to meet friends. Unique menu options and the food is great. Never served a piece of lasagna that big.
Outstanding! We hosted our wedding reception at Cafe Notte and the owners were amazing! Food was amazing, ambiance was great. They took care of everything so we could enjoy the day. Highly recommend for a private party or any meal!
First time at this local for me fine dining restaurant. Perfect from beginning to end. I had the pan fried scallops over linguine with creamy red pepper and spinach sauce. Excellent! Great personable service too. Thanks!
Was there Saturday December 7 for a Christmas party.54 people attending, buffet dinner, cash bar.Food was not even average.Salad was very skimpy, beef nuggets were very over cooked, bland tasting. Chicken was good. Potato wedges were over cooked and dry. Green beans were good . Rigatoni, over cooked, dry, clumped together. This place is supposed to be an Italian restaurant, this was probably the worst rigatoni that I have ever had. The bartenders in the party room were very nice, friendly and efficient. The owners were not the least bit friendly. Mrs. owner was annoyed at someone using a cane taking too long to get through the buffet line. Mr. owner was seemingly annoyed that we stayed around after dinner for cocktails and the DJ that we provided. They have about a dozen tables in their bar/dining room area that emptied around 9 . Around 9:30, the owners made frequent visits to our party area. At around 10 they closed the bar.Not even a thank you when leaving.Cafe Notte is an appropriate name.I would NOTTE recommend this place for any functions.I will NOTTE be coming back here.
Ive been going to Cafe Notte every week for the past 4+ years. The service is great and Ive got to know all the staff over the years (so maybe this review is a bit bias). Nonetheless, great atmosphere, food, personalities, and entertainment on Thursday nights (Bucky). A great place to relax. The food is a bit on the $$$ side but I havent been disappointed. Try the spicy stuffed hot peppers.
Beautiful place... the owner so friendly and so kind. I like here.
Was here for my friends wedding reception and it was amazing! The food was good, surprisingly enough space for dancing and other activities. Outdoor space was super accommodating. All and all a great wedding reception.
My husband and went to dinner on Friday March 5th. We had not been to this restaurant in over year. The service was slow, we waited a long time for our dinner. Drinks were over priced. The waitress was very nice but the food was awful. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer. They were awful, tasted bitter which means they were spoiled. Another couple at the bar also said the same thing. My husband ordered the seabass, the skin was on top of the fish. It tasted like tilapia. I ordered the scallops, they tasted like ammonia, they were bad. The waitress took the mussels and the scallops off the bill and gave us a free dessert. When seafood tastes like that it means it is rotten/decomposed. We will never go back.
New chef. Pretty underwhelming. All portions have been made smaller. The ceasar salad is pretty blah. Beef burgundy was wonderful but needed more sauce. The chicken parm is half the size it was a few weeks ago. Service was pretty slow. I was not in a hurry but was hungry. Everything took quite a while. Its seen better days. Not sure Ill be back.I really liked the place but things have changed.
Very nice atmosphere and very good food. However our waitress seemed to want to hurry us through dinner. From asking to take our orders before we had menus until bringing the check without asking us about dessert (which was also very good).Kind of made what should have been a special night out not as special.
GREAT food & even better more personal service..highly recommend this place for a romantic or casual dinner!
This place has a special ambiance to it. My family ate in the star room. Look up and you will know why. With a wood fire blazing on a cold winter night it was qaint. We ordered drinks and the cheese platter, which was good, but needed more bread. I had the Sea Bass with potatoes and asparagus. It was very good! My wife had the veal bolognese and enjoyed it. Overall i think the food may be slightly overpriced however is very tasty. It was my first time there and while its not an every weekend thing for us we will be back and would suggest to friends.
My first time there and what better way to be there on New Years Eve. The food was amazing. We will be back.
Server was very nice, but very new to the position. Apps and drinks were good. Dinner and dessert were simply awful. We made this point to our server who seemed sympathetic to us even though she charged us for the food we couldnt stomach. Tips for the management: train your staff to appease your guests for the terrible food you force them to serve!
The meatballs are fantastic
Have been here for cocktails and a wedding. Every time the experience has been good and the food is so delicious. Everyone is so friendly and I love that its family run. If youre in the area - stop by!
I work here, and everything Ive tasted on the menu has been fantastic, and the atmosphere is pretty fancy. Highly recommend a visit should the curiosity strike you. Great place if you want to impress a date.
Food is a B- pretty good. just a little pricey for what I think its worth. very nice environment and always busy. owner is there and works to please guests. our waiter didnt know the menu though. had to go in the back and ask the chef how the special was prepared. but would return again.
This hidden gem has a charming atmosphere, exceedingly friendly staff, good food, and fair prices. Its a nice place for a change of pace date night. Although it can quickly fill up on during peak days, the staff was accommodating with helping us get seated.
Food was not good. Staff was not polite.
It was a wonderful birthday dinner we had there. Great food and service was the best. Will be back soon.
The food is amazing, the service is wonderful. Definitely a place we will be going back to.
Cafe Notte is indeed a unique dining experience! The owners made us feel welcome and were very gracious throughout the evening. Jerry even joined in with the entertainment and played the drums! Our dinners were excellent, prepared by a chef who certainly knows his craft! Dessert of lava cake was a dream! Smooth and creamy warm chocolate lava flowed plentifully on our plates from a warm mound of chocolate cake.Judi Figel entertained us with her exquisite voice and versatile knowledge of piano and every guest was in awe when she began to sing! This is one establishment that is #1 on our list of places to go for an evening of fantastic food and top of the line entertainment!Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!Colleen Limerick-McKenzie
I was here for a baby shower & the place was wonderful! The restaurant was very nicely decorated and had a nice mood/ambiance to it. The staff was really wonderful, very friendly. The only thing I wasnt a fan of was the parking, the main lot was full so I had to park in the creepy lot next door for additonal parking & walk over haha
We attended a bridal shower here. The atmosphere was nice. The food was average. Maybe if you go during regular restaurant hours it might be better.....
Great service, food and live music.
Very good food
Probably repeating other posts, but Tiramisu is top notch. we just had dessert, so no comment on other food. nice little place with wood fireplace. quiet music in background
The food, service, and ambiance cant be beat! Such a great restaurant and we had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary here!
The room we were in is super cute and the service was wonderful. The food was decent, but not as impressive as I expected from what Id heard. I was there for a private event, not dinner, so perhaps that would be better.
Private atmosphere. Good food
Nice little place. I was there for a meeting. So I really didnt get to enjoy the place if I would have been there with friends. Atmosphere is great.
Amazing service, staff, food, and entertainment. This is a one of a kind place where you can have a romantic dinner in their piano bar, a celebratory drink with friends, or a family dinner. I love this place.
Great food, great atmosphere, beautiful ceiling! We ate at a leisurely pace, enjoyed ourselves completely. The taste of the food was phenomenal!!
Food is delicious with plenty of flavor. The bestGrilled Chicken Parm. I had the Ceasure salad was delish!!
Love this place! Fabulous food, wonderful staff, Wednesday night piano bar, Thursday night live music, quaint decor. Doesnt get any better.
This place has the most amazing food and fabulous service. The owners are so accommodating and wonderful
There for a wedding. Ambiance was great. Food too. Owners were really nice. One even danced with us.
Always a unique menu, always good service. Very quiet place with a fireplace in winter and outdoor seating in summer.
Very Helpful and curteous staff. Threw my sisters marriage reception party there. Had a great time. Kind of a noobie to the whole bar scene, but surprising classy. I kinda wish I knew about this place earlier.
Nice family owned bar and restaurant. Very laid back. I felt so relaxed and comfortable there.
Thursday evening at Cafe Notte is the best! The food, the service, the atmosphere and the music was wonderful! It is our special place to dine and I am spreading the word to all my friends!Thank you.
The atmosphere is great. I have seen awesome service from staff and owners. Food is delicious. wish it werent tapas-size.
I went to my companies Christmas party. The staff were awesome. The food wss fantastic. I would go to future events there.
Love it, great staff, great food, great place
Wonderful food and atmosphere with a personal touch. Fireside dinner shrimp. Shrimp linguini was homemade...superb! Architecturally cool
One of my most comfortable restaurants- great food, great atmosphere, great waitstaff.
