I saw Matt with haircut harry years ago, and when I came to Phoenix on a business trip I was honored with the chance to visit the legend himself. Matt is a master of the trade and has his own unique style. His barbershop is curated with thousands of fun objects. Matts Barbershop had a movie playing to enjoy while sitting in comfy chairs. The haircut was worth the $40 and more! Matt gave me a shave and showed his skill and thoroughness. At the end I felt like a million bucks. If your travels ever bring you to Phoenix, come visit Matts Barber Parlor for the experience of a lifetime with the friendliest master barber around!

Dude what in the world is this? I showed you a picture of what I wanted(shown below) for $40? You know the other picture I got for only $25 and its just perfect, maybe you should bring down the price to $20 if youre going to give cuts like this Matt. Last time I go over there. Pinkys Barbershop gives you unbiased cuts just like you like them, the only setback is you require appointments, but still worth it.

I visited Matts twice and both times I left before getting a cut. The first time there were about 6 people ahead of me so I wasnt waiting. The second time there was only one person so I settled in. Unfortunately, there was an action movie playing on their TV and it was super loud. Also I thought it was super unnecessary, because it was 9am in the morning. Not a fan of listening to crashing and exploding noises while getting a haircut. A relaxing environment seems more appropriate. I said ok, I can try and deal with this though. Initially, I also had some reservations about spending $40 for a haircut and then I saw it. I read a sign that said haircuts will be $60 starting 11/1. Who in their right mind would spend $60 to get a haircut? I understand raising prices to cover rising costs, but how about $45? I said forget it. This business is open from 8am-10pm most days so they should be making enough money. You just cant justify a price increase of that magnitude. Its just a haircut and it doesnt matter how good you might be. No haircut is worth paying on the wrong side of $50 for and I really dont care how cool your decorations are or that youre in downtown Phoenix. It just isnt worth it!

At first I thought paying $50 for a hot shave was kinda alot, but man is it worth it. From the decor of Matts shop littered with pop references and the movies, books to read, video games to play and much more. The shave was fantastic, he was a great host that understood what I wanted from my shave. The a massage at the end, it was a true experience that I will be willing to pay for again and again. Thank you Matt, you have a customer for life.

This is why I like getting my haircut done by the actual owner Matt, because Ive been sitting in the car for over an hr/1/2 because no one is answering the door, Im pretty sure lunch break isnt almost 2hrs or there should be a note at the front door, Ive been calling every 30min as well, I just gave up and about to leave, Matt needs to talk to whomever has the weekend shift because this is ridiculous, Ive never encountered this problem before and I know its not Matt because I went one day over the weekend and a different cutter was there and said he works the Friday-Sunday shift, and I dont live to close by here, very disappointed.Ill try again in the morning, then Ill change the rating.Edit: My apologies Matt, I didnt know that was the case, I dont think I saw any note, nonetheless thanks for heads up.

Matt gave me the full Brittany (hair shaved off). I opened the door he immediately greeted me and pointed towards a vintage mini fridge. I was nervous, he heard me out and shaved my hair to where my curls fell into a ziploc bag. Chosing to have your hair shaved off is a big decision, he respected that. He communicates each move hes going to make and thanked me for trusting him with the task at hand. His attention to detail is amazing and I look forward to going back. Hold on, wait a minute, Im about to put some love into it... This review that is. This is a haircut AND beard trim review! Ive been looking for a Barber shop that can cut my hair at any length, long (as it was for this visit) to short (I watched a serious fade take shape just next to me) AND at the same time trim my beard the way I want it (yes Im picky) and the crew (Zakk specifically) at Matts was the best Ive found in 6 years here in Phoenix. I havent even started on the environment, take your kids, get your hair cut, sit and chill while a fun movie plays while you wait. This gets my Hidden Gem award for this month no question!

The service is absolutely incredible. The gentlemen working there are very skilled. Just to note: The service no matter what is $40. Full hair and beard? 40. Touching up? 40. Kid cut? 40. If your look requires a lot of maintenance, youll get the best value. However, no matter what, your results will be quality. And, yes, this is the same Matt made famous for his delicate work in a multi-million viewed YouTube video on the Haircut Harry channel.

I dont write reviews often, but after my first visit to Matts, I have to recommend it. Other reviews mention the snacks, drinks, movies, and decor (which all reflect Matts personality), and its all great, but I have to mention the quality of the haircut itself. Matt said it was his passion, and I absolutely believe him. It was clear from the questions, skill, and care Matt put into the cut, that he is doing what he enjoys, and taking care to do it as well as he can. I look forward to the next time I need a haircut.

I called at 6 am because I saw they were opened online! I didn’t believe it. I called and Eric was a absolute gentleman! I thought the price was a little high but he explained it was an experience. He gave me the cut I want exactly but he informed me as I was leaving that his prices would be going up and although hes great and his shop is cool, I just cant afford to pay more for a haircut as simple as mine. This is a pretty cool spot to get your haircut. Good barbers and good vibes. Juan cut my hair and he was very professional and hes a really good barber. I definitely recommend this spot, you can watch a movie, read a book or play video games while you wait. Plus they give you free drinks!

This place used to be great (when Matt was still cutting hair) but now it takes hours to get a haircut. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll wait my turn to get a good trim but to not warn people that each cut will take over an hour, and to have one barber on at a time, is absurd. Things need to be fixed here. Wont be coming back until that changes. Very disappointing considering this place used to be amazing.

Matt and Zach are great, friendly professional barbers that create a very positive and welcoming environment. Got an amazing cut and shave on a Sunday before a wedding and couldn’t be more impressed with the quality of work. Would give it a 10 star if i could.

Legit AF. Seriously though, the quality service you very from these guys is outstanding. Awesome place! The decor captivates the imagination, Matt is a great Barber/Business Owner! He always greets me when I walk in the door and never fails to make sure I feel at home. Then theres the popcorn and soda pops that keep you refreshed, an awesome movie playing while you wait and once they are done with your cut you get a quick shoulder and trap massage via a massage machine. Very highly recommended!

Best barber shop I have ever been to in my life hands down. Clean, friendly and professional environment for all. Not only are the cuts A1 but the service is second to none. Matt and his staff really take customer care to the next Level. Movies, video games and snacks are all on the house. Dim lighting with comfortable seating and hot towel warm lather combo along with a shoulder and neck massage make the wait very much worthwhile.

I went there with a friend and his wife I was visiting in Phoenix, he had an appointment for a haircut and shave. This small but intimate Barbershop makes you feel at home even if you arent getting a haircut. TV beverages and treats were offered for free while we waited.

This is the only place you should be getting your hair cut at. they offer wonderful hospitality by having the latest movie playing while you sit in the waiting are on such comfortable seats. they offer popcorn and a drink here too and when you’re turn is up for your haircut you will never be disappointed because they staff here are professionals.

Best Barber in all the Land! Matthew the owner truly has gifted hands. I hate going anywhere else and only do as of late. He is the best, there is always a wait, but never dissatisfied. Just don’t get stuck with one of his employees. It’s just not the same.

Expect a wait to get the best service there is! Absolutely worth it! My son and I get our hair cut here. Usually the newest movie is playing (unless the newest movie really sucks and then its usually something recent that didnt). He also had a PlayStation that my boy could play on while we waited. Once we get in the chair, the amazing service continues and we get exactly what we ask for every time. Worth the wait time and price!

This a small shop but very quaint. You gotta go see Zzack, the best haircuts in the world. If there is a wait, kick back, have some popcorn, a soda and watch a movie. This place is awesome! Very cool! I came for a haircut while visiting family for Christmas holiday and it was cool that he was playing Home Alone 2 on VHS. I showed up right when the place opened and Matt cut my hair very well. I can see why this place is very popular. Moments after I sat down in the chair 3 other people came in all seeming to try to get the first spot of the day. Matt is very good at what he does and he works very quickly, almost too quickly, to the point where I was nervous at first but his fade was on point and his personality is wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good cut and a good experience, although you may have to wait a little while.

Walking distance from my loft.Ill spare you the gory details, but the moral of the story is that I got a decent haircut, but not at all the haircut I asked for. My boyfriend needed a new barber, so I found this place while sifting through google maps. The place is a true man cave. He had a great chat with the barber who cut his hair and really loved the cut. The price was a bit up there, but he said it was worth it. I guess he found his new barber!

Friendly, good atmosphere. Cut was not very good lol. He didnt really listen to anything I told him. I said high fade and he took it all the way to the top of my head. He also was cutting people in like 15 minutes so I should have known it was gonna be trash. Other barber was taking his time so maybe you could get a good cut out of one of them.

*CASH ONLY*My husband’s go to barbershop. Him, his brothers, and his closest friends all only come here for their haircuts. Matt is great, shop is great, unlike any other. They provide free drinks (soda and water), popcorn, and whatever snack they have on their table that day. Usually gum, candy or chips. Also they play a movie, set up as a mini theatre, while you wait or you can play on the xbox they have set up in the next room. Definitely not your typical shop, a little on the higher end, like $20something but considering the amenities, great customer service, and great haircut you get out of it, it’s well worth it.

Been coming here for a year and by far my favorite barber shop hands down. In my opinion it doesnt matter which barber you get because everyone is going to do great. It’s cash only so remember that before coming in and they do not do appointments so you may wait for awhile depending on how many people are in front of you but they always have a movie laying in the lobby, they have a fridge full of free drinks, a pop corn machine and a ps4 with 2 controllers and grip of games. So even if you have to wait an hour there is plenty to make the time go by and to keep yourself entertained.

Tried to go 3 times... each time the wait is an hour plus plus. Last time waited over 45 minutes and was the first person in line. At least they had a good movie on.
