Brought my car in for an oil change. Was nice to be greeted with an awesome Good Morning from the service manager. (Melva). Raymond the technician was very helpful in answering my questions. While sitting waiting for my car I was impressed with the workers and their interactions with one another. I will definitely bring my car back to have Franky do my inspection. Great Friendly place.

Got my tire changed here today. I ended up here after the store on Columbus Blvd tried to price gouge me.They were awesome. I had to wait, but now a days thats pretty much the norm since people dont like to work like theyre supposed to. I had a road hazard warranty, and the lady here (Melba) got me squared away with NO CHARGES to me (the other pep boys said it would be like $400 🙄). I very much appreciate their professionalism. Id recommend this place.

Since Pepboys is under new management, the tone and vibe of the store has changed. The new manager Melva is awesome. Answers all questions, makes sure the phones are still being answered even when she is busy with busy with customers. It seems more organized than before which caused me to leave.FYI...Melva knows her sh!t when it comes to cars. Do not underestimate her knowledge.

Service takes a very long time even for a simple fix. It is a hit and miss with the time frame and service for your vehicle. Some days will be reasonable, some days will take extremely long even with an appointment

I had an appointment for 3:30pm for an oil change and tire rotation. I asked when I could pick it up and the tech said the next day. Seemed like a long time for an oil change and rotation but ok. The next morning I went back (because they don’t ever pick up their phones) and the guy says they haven’t started on my car and won’t even look at it until “later in the day.” I asked when and he said they could look at it around 1pm and start on it after that but no guarantees so I just took my car and left. Don’t go here unless you can live without your car for a few days and want rude customer service

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Made an appointment for oil change & state inspection. When I showed up for my appointment they told me they couldn’t get to me because of walks in and that I should just come back when the store opened first thing, that appointments weren’t necessary. I went back a few days later when they opened and was told again they couldn’t do the inspection for a varying reasons.Horrible service.

Worst service experience Ive ever had. This is the 1st review Ive ever written of any business, but I felt obliged given how awful this shop was. Story time:Brought my car for service at 1pm for a routine tire rotation and oil change. The girl before me in line was very frustrated. Apparently her service was not completed- like 0% done, sitting untouched in the lot. The tech is audibly badmouthing her in the other room, at which point she breaks down in tears. Odd, but I dont know the full story and dont think much of it. I drop my keys and was told itd take 5 hours. Long time considering I made an appointment, but its busy, I get it. I ask point blank if they could at least guarantee itd be completed same day. 100% was the answer. Pickup time rolls around and I call to see if the car is ready. Im told, my tech left so we can no longer complete the job today. Sorry, what? Why would they leave before close and before wrapping up the work? They offer a 35% discount for the inconvenience- fair enough. So I tell them Ill come pick the car up before close and drop it back off in a few days to actually perform the service. He asks how long until Ill come in, which I find odd -why does it matter as long as its before close? Whatever, I tell him Ill be there in 30. I go to pick up the car and to my surprise Im told the work is done. The tech he told me went home (lie #1) is sitting right next to him and explains a tire pressure concern I asked about. A bit confused I ask you were able to do the oil change and the tire rotation after all?, since 30 min ago he said he couldnt. Yes, he says. He even kept the 35% discount applied. Sure, he lied about the tech going home, but overall I leave happy. Until I get on the highway and my car has a worrying, loud new rattle. Im not a car person but assume the tires werent properly balanced or something like that. Its concerning as I dont know if the car is drivable. So I call them back, tell them I have a new rattle and I suspect its because they rushed the work to get it out the door. I also tell him Im also missing a few lug nuts, which seems related. The manager (different person than I first interacted with) tells me his tech never touched the tires, as the tire rotation could not be performed because of the wear pattern. I check the receipt, and sure enough theres no charge for the rotation, although they had previously confirmed to my face that they had done the rotation. Lie #2. But the wear reading on each tire is 8/32 of an inch, as detailed in their own report. I bring this up and the manager again tells me it would have been quite literally *illegal* for them to have rotated my tires. Lie #3, again right to my face. Your tech was lazy and now youre defending him with a lie.So I bring the car in 3 days later, obviously not thrilled to have to be back. The manager thinks Im trying to pin an unrelated problem on them and tells me as much. Confrontational the whole way. They put my car on the lift and sure enough the under engine plate is dangling under the car, only partially attached. Bingo- theres the source of the rattle. That means they didnt properly reattach that piece after the oil change, right?, I ask. He answers no, its just twisted a little. Umm, it wasnt like that before, now its hanging down and causing a rattle. He continues to totally deny responsibility and when I press he says wow, youre upset over a piece of plastic. Yes, I am, because it caused me to come back to complete the oil change, which was incompetently performed. So all in all I brought the car in for an oil change and a tire rotation, and they botched the oil change and did not do the tire rotation. He did eventually refund my money, but not without snidely noting that wow, he even already gave you a 35% discount. Totally unprofessional environment, negligent work, 3 bold lies in the course of the interaction, and the entire time I was made to feel unreasonable for noting the above concerns. If I could give 0 stars I would, even despite the full refund.

Dropped the car off for an oil change. They backed the car into a yellow pole and destroyed the bumper. Refused to admit they damaged the car. One manager told me the security footage definitively showed they didnt hit anything when moving the car (of course he refused to let me see the video). Another manager told me the camera footage wasnt working and you couldnt see anything at all.Since there are yellow parking poles on the lot and yellow paint on the destroyed bumper (the bumper is pushed into the tire so you can barely drive the car), combined with the fact that we never reversed the car on the lot its not exactly a mystery to me as to what happened.1 star is actually unfair. 0 stars would be appropriate. At least one of the managers was lying to me as they told me different stories. Everyone was dismissive and rude. Now awaiting insurance claim to be sorted out, time in the shop to fix the bumper, rental car, and the possibility of this oil change costing us $600 and a hike in our insurance.I used to overlook the quick and sloppy work of this place because it is so close to my house, dont learn your lesson the hard way like I did and avoid this place.

This place is amazing, when you walk in you know youre in great hands. Took my c300 here for some minor repair and the entire staff were friendly and professional. Alex my service writer walked me thru the process and gave me a tour of this amazing building. I was simply blown away. They did a great job on the repairs to my car and I would highly recommend them. 10 stars !

Scheduled an oil change appointment for 2:30 on Monday. When I dropped my car off they asked what time I needed my car done by, and I said that end of the day was fine. Around 6 I called to check on the status of my car. They said two cars were before mine and they would get it done by end of the day. After not hearing back, I called back at 7:40 to find that they had closed and were keeping my car overnight without even calling to let me know. The next morning I called at 9 and stated that I would need my car by 10:30, they told me my car was in the shop now and that they could get it done by then. When I showed up at 10:30 to get my car they hadn’t even started the oil change! I ended up having to wait an extra 25 mins to get my car. Would not advise coming here for any service that you need done quickly, seeing as an oil change took them almost 24 hours to complete.

Tried to get my emissions test done here twice with appointments made online. First time the appointment was at 8:15 am and the store wasn’t open. Second time, the appointment was for a Sunday and they said they don’t do emissions on weekends. This was unnecessarily complicated and a waste of time. Would not recommend.

I think this is the last time Ill be coming to this Pep Boys. they consistently take longer than the times they quote you and never contact you with updates. This morning I dropped my car off for an 8am appointment for an oil change. At 9am they told me my car would be taken back next. At 11 they were no longer answering my calls. At 1145 i walked back and my car was still in the spot where I dropped it off. They quoted me an hour from this time. So they have had my car for 4 hours and have done nothing and not called me.

This is not quite the Pep Boys on used to Pep Boys Im used to is either on Oregon Avenue or in Delaware County also one on Lindbergh Boulevard I really like those places because they are easy to shop at and pleasant Personnel behind the counters and always willing to help this particular one was much different the help decided that I was a bother to them looking for tire repair kit but I guess they were just busy I think I would recommend this place if they werent that busy. 7/26/2020 -- My check engine light, oil light, brake light, & traction control light were all lit. So I showed up Wednesday morning to see what could be done with what money I had. I was told that my car couldnt be looked at until around noon because there were others who had to be taken care of 1st, so I & my mother chose to wait in the car. Waiting in the car as hot as it was caused the guy working the counter to allow us to wait in the air-conditioned waiting area even though that wasnt supposed to be allowed because of the pandemic.Anyway, after looking over my car, the diagnosis was that I needed an oil change, my gas cap more securely opened, my break line changed, new rear rotors & break shoes. The cost for testing & repairs came out to nearly $1,000! Signing up for the Pep Boys card made the oil change free. It was decided that while the rotors were rusty & the break pads worn, they would hold up a while longer as long as the break line was replaced. So thats what got replaced. That dropped the repair bill to around $584.This location wasnt big enough to carry all the parts it needs to repair cars, so they had to have the break line sent in from another location & then the mechanic had to bend the new break line in various places to fit it properly. He worked at it for hours. My mother & I arrived around 9am but didnt leave until around 5pm! But the brakes are working & the warning lights are all off.

I have been trying to get a state inspection with them for a month at this point. I made an appointment online for Saturday a week ahead of time. 15 mins before the appointment they call me and say they dont have an inspector on weekends. Then I make an another appointment for in the week. When I show up for my appointment, they told me it is impossible to get me in today because they are so busy and they dont see the online appointments. How did they call and cancel on the weekend if they dont see them??He puts me in for an another day and promise me that he would get me in right on my appointment time and I could wait for it because I cannot drop off. When I show up for my appointment, they tell me that the inspector hasnt arrived yet and the inspection would take at least 1.5 hrs. Never again.

I took my car in at 5:30pm for an appointment to patch a tire from a nail I driven over. The clerk at the counter seemed really upset that I had an appointment at this time. I thought they took the nail out but I was mistaken when I drove my car for the first time a couple days later and my psi was at 11. I had AAA put my spare on and their tech found that the nail was still in there (see photo) and that Pep Boy never patched the tire! The AAA tech told me to never go to the Pep Boys on Broad due to them scamming people and believe me I will never again. I expect to get a refund due to their negligence.

They are always on time, they do a good job, they leave the car clean, and they are always attentive, responsive, and friendly And a couple of times that we really appreciate, they have gone out of their way to accommodate special requests. I like these folks and highly recommend them, and offer a special thanks to their former manager Eddy (I dont remember his last name) and their current manager Matthew Fleming.

Needed a jump. Walked over to this Pep Boys. Matt, the service manager, lent me the stores charger. Didnt ask for anything except I leave my licence till I returned it. (I left my phone as well.) I bought some tires from them a while back too. They got the tires on and rotated quickly while I waited. Good price, no hassle. Great customer service. Great bunch of guys. Would recommend this location to anyone. Thanks guys.

First I came with rim w/flat on it they were attentive and speedy but I got home and put it on drove half a block and tire started squealing and went flat i reached in and tire was rubbing against strut they put a 225/60 on a 225/50 car so the tire was 1.77in. Too big However they did tow and put correct one on at no charge but then sold me additional battery which I needed but post are on opposite side from wires smh FML LOL

I needed a new bulb for a taillight and visited this location for a replacement. Eddie checked to see if the particular bulb was in house. Once he found them, he gave us two of them at no cost. This was very generous of him and during this time, the gesture was very much appreciated. Thank you!

This place is the worst. They allow online appointments for services they dont offer, and dont call you to let you know. Made an 11am Saturday appointment for inspection. Apparently they only inspect on weekdays, and didnt call to let me know when I popped up on their appointment screen. Got a babysitter for nothing. On top of that, the front desk guy was not wearing his mask, and was heavy breathing all over the place uncovered. Just yuck.

I would advice anyone NOT yo go to this place. They simply dont care about anything other than ripping people off as much money as they can get out of you. their service manager MR Eddie Ruiz was just the worst. He actually threated me saying he had all my information and he was coming after me, just because I questioned how much he was trying to charge me to balance my tires. absolutely unprofessional. And the company replies to your review saying please email us ( which I did ) but no one ever reached out to me about my review. And when I called and made a complain they said sorry but nothing we can do for you.

Called to get my car inspected. Was able to bring it right over and they finished it in 1.5 hours with no issues. Also added windshield wiper blades. I was very pleased with their work. I would highly recommend Pep Boys.

Came in just for a simple oil change. Was told 40 minutes to have it done. Took over twice as long just for them to get the car set up for the change. No communication from the staff. Serious lack of professionalism.Not to mention there were other customers coming in waiting even longer than I was to get their cars looked at.Would not recommend this place at all for any amount of service. The only reason why Im writing this review is because Im still sitting and waiting for my car.

I was originally told it would be an hour to change my headlight, but a very nice mechanic told me he could do it quickly before he had to leave. He not only replaced my headlight, but also noticed my air filter was gross and replaced that as well. I appreciate is fast/efficient service and was very impressed! I barely had to wait.

I went in today to have my battery replaced. Due to my situation, like where my car was located, I wasnt sure wherre to take it. After calling multiple places that were extremely unfriendly and unable to accommodate me, I found this shop. Right away I felt welcomed. The took cafre of my car right away and everyone was supeer nice. Price was even a little lower than I expected. Id give 10 stars if I could!

I did share my experience when I did the emailed survey. Someone was supposed to get back to me within 48 hrs I think and that never happened. I bought a car for my daughter on a Wed. On Thursday I Took it to the Pep Boys on South Broad St to have it checked out. The car drove fine but since I got it from an auction I wanted to have it looked at. I was told that it needed a power steering pump and line, which would be about $960 with inspection. I thought that was rather high, but since I usually get discounts there and needed the car ASAP; I told them to proceed. I was told the car should be ready by 7pm. It was almost 6pm and I still hadnt heard from them. I called them and was told that the car wouldnt be ready because the mechanic had a family emergency. Things happen I understand that but a call would have been nice. Next day car still wasnt ready. It was ready on Saturday. My daughter drove it back. It was very difficult to steer and I had to take over to get it home. The next day I took it back. Had to call to see what was going on. On Monday I was told that the part was bad and they needed to get another - car would be ready that night. No call. This went on for about a week and a half. I bought the car so that my daughter could look after my business while I was on vacation. Since the car wasnt ready I had to hire 3 other people to handle things. I pretty much wasnt time and a lot of money. If Pep Boys would have communicated any problems with me before I had to call them and offered some type of restitution; then they would look a lot better in my eyes. This is not the 1st time that Pep Boys has messed up and not even the same location. Now I understand why people questioned me taking my cars to Pep Boys. After this situation, I think Ill drop them permanently.

I walked into this Pep Boys an hour and half before they closed needed a tire repair. While I think the initial esthetics were not incredibly welcoming not inviting, they got the job done. The staff were clearly stretched but they remained pleasant. Im grateful and pleased with my service.

Lackluster service. Wanted my air checked back in the summer as the cold air would go in and out. Also asked to have a blower motor resistor replaced (I already had the part). They returned my car with the new resistor in and I saw that was the only charge (plus the warranty). They charged me about $150. I asked if there was anything else wrong with the air because I wanted my cooling system checked and the (assistant manager??) told me the mechanic said the air was blowing cold air and that “if there was anything else wrong I would’ve told you”. I get in the car to drive off and the air is cold. I go not 3 blocks and I feel hot air coming out again. I take it to a smaller shop in South Philly 3 weeks later and they tell me straight up that I’d need a new air compressor. I wouldn’t recommend this shop at all and there is a reason I didn’t use the warranty. I wouldn’t let them touch my car again even in an emergency.

Super shady, this place is why people dont trust mechanics... avoid at all cost! I brought my car in for its annual inspection and was told that while it passed the emissions inspection it would need repairs to pass the safety inspection. Three components in total would require replacement for a grand total of $1200. Something felt off and when I questioned one of the repairs and why it was necessary to pass the inspection the technician said he was unsure and would consult the book. The book? I assume you would know why it wont pass if you said it wont pass and assigned a monetary value to the repairs. It was then that I decided to pick up the vehicle and take it elsewhere for a second opinion. When I dropped it off at the second garage I went so far as to tell the technician the exact parts that did not pass inspection and required replacement so that there would be no confusion. An hour later I was driving home with my new stickers, inspection passed. The second garage told me they had no idea why I was told that the parts required replacing or that the vehicle failed its inspection. I have some guesses as to the why. To be clear, this is a 0 star review. Avoid this particular establishment, they are not to be trusted.

My car battery died. After getting a jump, I called this location to see if I could get a new battery installed. They said yes. I arrive, show the technicians the printed out battery diagnostic receipt provided by AAA which confirms that, indeed my battery was dead. I was told it wouldn’t be a problem and they could take me right away and proceed ring me up for a battery.While I was waiting, I became more and more aware of just how out of control this establishment is. Growing increasingly weary of who I’m trusting to work on my car, I check like 5 different websites while I’m waiting to see what kind of battery my car takes (a step I should have taken prior) and comparing that to my receipt. Annnnnnnnndddddd yup, you guessed it - they sold me $200 worth of wrong battery and put it in my car.Now, some of you might have handled this differently but I was in a serious bind - it’s late afternoon, my factory battery was totally shot, and I’m leaving on a road trip the following morning. My options are slim and I’m not working with the finest in automotive repair service here.So I drive off and immediately pull over to check what they did under the hood. THE BATTERY DIDN’T EVEN FIT IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT!Now I’m freaking out - it’s now later in the day and I’m no better off than I was when I first got my car jumped.I call around to other pep boys and by some stroke of luck, I find one that has the correct battery and was willing to make a special accommodation to fit me in.The service I received at the other pep boys was outstanding and totally restored my faith in this otherwise trusted name in car care.Save yourself the trouble, don’t bring your car to the south broad pep boys.

Before the second appointement we received an email saying that we didnt show up the first time!! Crazy.Wet send an email to customer service about that! No answers...1h before the second appointement, we called them to check and they said they dont have a inspector today..... My experience at this location was just what I hoped for: prompt knowledgeable service,k attention to detail without my having to ask, and reasonable prices. Staff were a bit short on welcome but I was there for a necessary service and it was provided. I had some concern about the correct part (a battery not readily available) and the manager was able to reassure me. A reservation was respected, so that my work was completed without a long wait. Excellent service defined.

I made an appointment for an oil change, then when I got there was told they had lift problems, and that the wait would be 3 hours, and I could not wait in the building(the service person was the only one in the room). After taking a Lyft home, then returning, paid and asked for a receipt, I noticed the Mobil 1 synthetic oil that I put in when I scheduled, and again told the service person I wanted, was not done...without calling or asking they put in a cheap Pennsoil. Service person had even repeated back you want Mobil 1 synthetic, but then did not do it. Not going back.

I had an emergency flat tire on a Sunday afternoon and the folks at the South Broad Pep Boys squeezed me in at the last minute, and stayed late after closing to make sure I got my car back that day. They were really busy, but hustling to get everyone serviced and out the door. I really appreciated that they went the extra mile and saved me from having to pay for a car rental.

First I called there and spoke with a gentleman asked him if they had a tire for my vehicle put me on hold got back on off of hold and asked me what I was holding for told him I was waiting for someone to check for a tire then put me back on hold for another couple minutes he did have the tire in stock so I drove there to buy the tire and when I got there gave me an attitude about price matching told me that they do not price match against Walmart cuz he has nothing to do with them which I know either has nothing to do with them hes price matching against them beating their prices I will not be going back to that location because of this

Went in for an oil change. Paid for oil change. Their Hydraulic machine broke and couldn’t get our car down. HUGE inconvenience for it being that we are not from the area so we have no way to get around at that point. Worker called store manager and he wouldn’t speak us which was very unprofessional on his part. They said they couldn’t get no one in to bring it down until the next day?

Assured me and charged me for an internal patch to repair a tire. After a 3 Or 4 hour wait, I got an external plug that failed within a week. Misrepresentation and rip-off.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I dropped my car off Friday AM at 7:30 AM and was told it would take a few hours to install upgraded headlights and to apply new break covers. I then called around lunch and was told that their “guy” who does breaks wont be in until tomorrow and they could do it then. Sunday AM rolls around and I call to check in, told my car would be done by 10 AM- it’s now 1:47 PM and i just picked up my car. And what did they do? Replaced my brand new head lights with the identical model and did absolutely nothing to my breaks.Literally one of the worst displays of professionalism and having any clue about whats really going on. Pathetic.

Incompetent, and rude.Needed a new tire. My wife called at 11am and gave them the size we needed. They quoted us a specific tire they had for $95, and said they could get it done that day. She dropped the car off at noon. At 5:15 they called her to say Weve just looked at your car, you need a new tire. This was obviously what she had told them in the first place. at 5:30 (they closed at 6pm) they said they didnt have one, it would have to be the next day, and it would be $150.I walked to the shop to retrieve our car, since I didnt trust them to do anything with it at this point, and didnt want to give them our money. The person there asked why I wanted the car back, and when I explained, he began shouting at me and said Youre going to know your place with me. I took my keys and let him curse at me as I walked out of the door.Aside from the AWFUL customer service, the ridiculous price-changing, their incompetence with being unable to change a tire within 6 hrs, especially with advance notice....cost me extra money. They should have ordered the tire when we brought it in, since wed told them what we needed. If theyd admitted that they couldnt fit us in that day we could have gone somewhere else. Instead, I had to rent a car for the day so my wife could drive to work and back.If youre a responsible person, this isnt the place for you.

Ive had my car serviced here twice and both times I felt like they were honest in what the car needed and with the pricing. They are a good group of guys working here, but both times I got my car back the steering wheel was covered with dirt and grease. Its something minor, but would have been nice not to worry about having to clean it myself.

I should have known better based on the reviews, but I thought by doing my homework prior; I would have avoided some of the pitfalls others describe here. Wrong.I called the day before to explain the issue I was having - a nail through my tire. I researched and seeing that PepBoys said that they could fix that issue, I checked to see how long the repair would be. Half an hour, forty-five minutes tops. So I planned to give myself an hour and arrived 15 minutes early. An hour later, I could still see my tire out back was off the car and the girl said she would check on it. She came back out and said it would be 15 more minutes.Right then, the technician came out and told me - you need a new tire, there is a nail in it. I KNEW THAT ALREADY! I had told them that. So for the past hour, my car sat there when they could have been fixing or diagnosing it. I waited another 40 minutes after that, taking my total in store time to 1:45; more than double what they told me it would be.And to top it off, they didnt fix what they said they would. They replaced the tire.Why two stars? They were pleasant. But the service is horrible.

Went here the other day as a walk-in customer to get new tires put on and the service was very good! Jose knows how to manage an auto shop. Hes observant, helpful, punctual and was a boss at handling complaints and also making sure peoppe got in and got out. His team is hardworking and i cant reccomend this shop enough!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon to make an appointment for a slow leak in a tire and was told they were booked for the day. Scheduled an appointment for the following Monday at 6:00 pm. Approximately two hours prior I had called to see if they had anything available earlier as I got out of work early. I was hung up on before getting to speak to someone and then no one answered the phone my other two tries. I showed up for my appointment at 5:45 pm and was told I no longer had an appointment. When I asked why I was simply told it was busy and that I could leave my car overnight. I asked why no one had attempted to call me or answer the phone when I had tried to call and was just shrugged at and again told it was busy. Took my business elsewhere in which I didn’t have to wait any longer than 5 minutes for everything to be taken care of. What is the point of making an appointment if it’s not going to be kept? And why wasn’t I notified of this when my contact information was readily available?

Ive taken my car here for a lot of years, and now I believe it’s hands down the worst place to take your vehicle. I dropped my car on a Wednesday at 7:30a.m. for: radiator light coming on, breaks, and a PA state inspection. the next evening I called bc it has been over 24 hours without any update. They told me that the person that did the inspections was out for some days...fine, okay. I asked about the other maintenance and they didn’t even know anything about it.After going through everything again.. They replaced the brakes and rotors and did not change the break fluid as it was very dirty. (Verified by dealership)Told me That the radiator had no issue and it was a blown heat casket, which i knew wasn’t possible because I would have noticed. It needed two hoses replaced and it was a inexpensive repair.The inspection was never done, they forgot to do it, I only noticed after dropping the car at the dealership for the repairs, immediately after picking up from PepBoys. My suggestion is to use the local shops and not the chains. There is a nice shop in Bella Vista that’s just/more convenient

We dropped off the car for oil change and asking them to look into a shaking at higher speeds. Fast forward today when we call and are told mechanic wants us in car for test drive. Heaven forbid they have the common sense to call me yesterday. Not the first time they have wasted our time. WARNING: If you bring your car here, ride them every hour with a status call or your car will sit here forever

Before coming to this shop, I had rarely used Pep Boys except for regular maintenance. My first experience with this Broad Street Pep Boys location came when I noticed I had a nail in my tire. I made it to the shop and they repaired my tire quickly without cost. Mike is the new manager and he is one of the best that I have worked with.Months later I had a squeaking sound in my right front tire area that steadily worsened. My local repair shop gave me an estimate of $1,700 and told me to replace all of the control arms and bushings. I called many shops in the Philadelphia area and decided to give this Pep Boys a shot. Since I needed my car to commute, I had to leave it over the weekend. The master techs name is also Mike and he is very talented. They fixed the problem at a fraction of the cost (~$170) and I am very satisfied with the work.One recommendation that I have is to frequently communicate with the shop to make sure they meet your needs. I look forward to using this Pep Boys location for my future maintenance and repairs.

It seems Im not the first customer to write a review like this which is disappointing. Im afraid I must warn anyone who reads this to avoid this store at all costs. I went in for my annual inspection which I have passed at this location before, and while the car passed its emissions test, it failed the safety test. When I asked why, I was told of a bogus problem with the drivers side window that would require testing, and diagnostics, and time, and seemingly cost a lot of money. Mind you, this problem of a slow window rolling down existed last year when this same store inspected my vehicle! I took my vehicle to a different mechanic and within 20 minutes I was driving away with a passed inspection, not to mention the second mechanic confirmed that Pep Boys assertion about my window had no basis in State Safety Inspections. This leads me to believe that the people who work at this Pep Boys are more interested in your money than they are in your actual safety. Its a shame.

I have my alternator replaced here today, very great experience, dropped off car in the morning, job done by noon. Cost is reasonable, the technician Franklin - a very friendly Asian guy took care of my car. Did test drove after the job, car drives great again now :)

We got there early before they opened. We had a flat, and were from out of town. They didnt have our tire size but were able to fix our flat. We had so much anxiety about the tire, and now feel okay to drive 200 miles home. And they did it quickly.

Amazing how its now going to take more than 48 hrs to change 1 tire. Brought tire in... Well call you and let you know what needs to happen by end of day.... Next morning- Sir, you do need a new tire. (715am) me-ok, will it be done in 8 hrs when i get off work. It should be... Call 8 hrs later status... oh thats not done but i expect it will be in the next HR. Call back 3 hrs later, an hr before they close, and nobody is picking the phone up. Great service guys!

Horrible service. I dropped my car off to get the tire changed, and after a couple of hours, it still wasnt resolved. I have other matters to attend to, and yet they still cannot get the job done in an appropriate manner. Rude staff and an eternal wait time. Take your services somewhere else.

Since people always leave the bad, I feel I need to leave the good, the very good, working in South Philly and living in the far NE I walked out to a flat tire after work, I went to this Pep Boys and they were all the most friendliest and honest staff I have ever dealt with, they didnt rob me and were so honest and helpful, the entire crew was so respectful and courteous being a single mother on 1 income with the holidays coming they treated me fairly and with the utmost decency, would absolutely recommend this place and crew it is hard to find good, honest people and they definately changed my outlook on people today! I made an appointment to have them look into a noise coming from the front end of my car. My appointment took over two hours and by the end they told me I needed almost 2k worth of work done to it, some of which had already been done by a different mechanic less than two months ago. I pointed that out and they said “well, you should probably take it back because it looks like they never replaced [insert part].” Not true at all, I’d seen them replace the parts with my own eyes. There was no way I could afford all that so I decided to get a second opinion. I took it to Phil’s Battery Service and they told me there was no way I needed all that work. I only needed about 400 dollars worth of work done. The mechanic at Phil’s told me that he had experiences of another Pep Boys taking advantage of women (thinking they don’t know anything about cars) and over charging them hundreds of dollars. Stay away from chain auto shops...support a local mechanic!

Service is bad.. had to take my car back three times for routine brakes . And they still are not right. They lied to me about my tires, told me nothing was wrong. I had another place check them out and found out a nail was in them..Warning, dont take your car to this place
