Christina Belknap is not only a fantastic therapist but passionate about service in the community. She has come to my classroom several times to share on career day and to do activities with young children on emotional wellness. She is confident and great with a crowd! I took the time to reach out and set up an appointment, went through all the steps, only to learn they not only charge insurance, but charge the patient, $99 out of pocket and then a monthly fee of $24. As if mental healthcare wasnt hard enough to access. This is counseling, not netflix. Requiring a monthly subscription is absurd.

I have worked with Allyson Graves for over 2 years but it certainly feels longer. Allyson has a calm, welcoming demeanor. She is hard working and is very passionate about adequate care for her clients. It is hard to find a trusting therapist that specializes in eating disorders amongst other things and I have found that with her. I am appreciative of the feedback that she is able to provide in any given situation. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, caring licensed therapist.

I have had a great experience with Dr Alan Goldberg. His expertise has been invaluable to me. It is clear that he genuinely cares about his patients.Thrive Works has been great as well. Appointments are easy to make, insurance is accepted, phone wait times are minimal, reminder emails are sent. They manage to have new patients seen within 24 hours, which is an excellent and important service. Highly recommended.

My partner and I saw Joe Alvayero for a year and it was one of the best decisions we made as a couple. It was about as comfortable as couples therapy can be which allowed us to be open, grow and learn. Joes approach felt sincere and modern and he guided us to revive our communication and connection and then everything else fell into place.I also saw Jeannette Frye for single sessions prior to Joe and would highly recommend her as well. My experience with her was similar in the sense that it felt like a genuine, human conversation with someone who is secretly very trained to help :-).

I needed a sensitive therapist that I could relate to, and found it only in Thriveworks with Dr. Alan Goldberg. My husband and I were searching for marriage counselors at the time, and met with at least 3 other therapists before finding our perfect fit.I am now seeing Dr. Goldberg as my personal therapist, not a marriage counselor, and the transition has been very smooth.Thriveworks also takes my insurance, an added plus! I just wish I didnt waste my time with the other therapists had I known about Thriveworks from the beginning.

Scam. And I almost wish I opened the reviews before calling. I thought I was getting somewhere on the phone while scheduling appointments. Perfect time took my insurance all checked out but I was asked to give my credit card over the phone for 100 because they’re a “premium service” but they also are going to bill insurance probably hundreds of dollars depending on the session. So why would I give you credit card info over the phone if your BILLING ME AND INSURANCE.. because your a premium place with people working on the weekends ....... I questioned if this was legal and I was hung up on. Contacting BBB to investigate this first thing Monday morning . Don’t waste your time with this place it’s a let down to reach out for help and right away run into issues.

I wanted to take a moment to post about a therapist I saw recently named Alison Strycharz. I dont usually do this sort of thing but i feel compelled to do so because the experience was so positive. Maybe someone reading this who might be a little like me (nervous, hesitant, ashamed, scared of this kinda thing) will now feel comfortable enough to go forward with it. I hope so because its worth it.From the moment I entered Alison made me feel at ease. She has a calming demeanor. I felt comfortable to be myself. I didnt feel judged. It truly seemed like she was listening. The experience felt self guided. She offered perspective that Im still thinking about to this minute. She was professional, extremely well thought out, and just seemed to genuinely care. For someone who is new to this, it was an experience that was not only helpful but even better encouraging. So much so that Ive made another appointment.

I can’t speak for the agency itself, however, Lavonda (a therapist here) is wonderful. We have been colleagues for almost 10 years now. SCAM. Receptionist goes through the “effort” of selecting your doctor based on an internet search (insurance, availability, etc.). Tells you after getting your perfect appointment time, it’s a $99 one-time fee for their service. You’re paying for some person to do an internet search.

I followed Dr. Alan Goldberg to Thriveworks in Center City from his former practice in Northeast Phila. with excellent reason. Alan has always made me feel that we are on the same page since our first session. His true caring and warmth earned my trust and respect from the start. His real and empathetic manner would make anyone feel cormfortable and open to his outstanding guidance and skill building. With his help, for the first time, I was and have been able to identify my mental and emotional needs in many distressed areas of my life. Alan has imbued in me the wisdom to ask for skills, step by step solutions to serious problems I had for years. He has given me a wealth of super effective suggestions, ideas, resources, etc., that have greatly assisted me in changing much of my negative behavior into positive. Under Dr. Goldbergs support and encouragement, in a calm and relaxed atmosphere, I was given the strength to go from a major atypical morbid paralyzing depression to a much more healthy, harmonious and balanced mindset. After nasty verbal fighting with my mother for decades, the proactive changes in my behavior brought about an abrupt positive change in my mothers negative, criticizing manner. Thanks to Dr. Goldberg, I and my mother enjoyed a close and wonderful relationship the last six years of her life. On the lighter side, Alan and I have discussed everything from music of the 60s to Star Trek to how to avoid jerks when dating. But most importantly, Alans approach to developing a healthy and balanced life is not just for mental and emotional improvement. Alans extraordinary guidance also extends to physical improvement, ( in my case dieting, exercise, nutrition ) and spiritual growth; any and all positive change and thriving development. I therefore give my highest recommendation to Thriveworks and the remarkable Dr. Goldberg. A plus is that Thriveworks has the most comfortable waiting area with relaxing decor and sofas, coffee, a variety of herbal teas, bottled water, and even hard candy.

Thriveworks is a total scam. There are high fees for everything on top of your normal appointment costs. $100+ just to join. If you miss an appointment they charge you $120 even if they didnt send the typical reminder and even if your normal payment is half that. Too much stress worrying about fees- try anywhere else.

I just tried to make an appointment with the child psychologist. The representative on the phone was extremely unprofessional and sorry for saying it - stupid. She put me on hold 3 times without even notifying me and i just had no idea what is going on, I called back 3 times until I figured out that she puts me on hold. Finally - after 15 min of talking and taking all my information and making an appointment she gave me a lecture that unfortunately if I will not pay $99 fee my son cannot see the doctor. I think that this remark must be done the first thing - not the last one not to make people to loose their time. I am calling from my work and I am sure that I am much busier that the girl on the phone. I just lost my time for nothing. Bad and unprofessional approach of the clients. Not going to call again to this office, there are plenty of others in the city. When hire personnel - try to go with smarter people, just recommendation.
