I didnt expect much due to the pandemic, however, our stay for 5 nights was excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable staff specially Jeannie who works at 13 restaurant along with the rest of the staff there. Yes there was a bit of a wait for elevator on a Sunday morning but that is to be expected when theres an event. I would highly recommend this place. Perfect location for to all attractions. Im glad I made the choice to stay at this location amongst all the other marriott properties. We will be back. Thank you for making our visit to the city of brotherly love a memorable one.

My husband and I have been traveling through several north east states. This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. No noise disturbances. Not to mention the location was perfect. We were able to walk to most of our destinations. The restaurant was delicious and Starbucks was also a bonus.

Hotel Im giving 4 stars.. Unfortunately outside of the hotel is a different story. I know Marriott cant control the negativity outside of their Philly location but the homeless folks are a eye sore.Note: They didnt bother me or my guests but it should be brought to the cities attention for public assistance.Other then that my overall experience was pleasant.

I checked in to the hotel and was very smooth as far as valet and check in goes. Very nice and welcoming employees, I get to my room and realize the pillows and bedding are not so clean. In the hotel they do not let you know in advance that a lot of the amenities are closed because of the pandemic until you get to the front desk they show you a flyer. The bar closes at 11 pm which is awfully strange. Close driving distance from most attractions. Nice starbucks attached to the hotel. I would most likely not come back to this hotel and would not recommend it to the others. In addition you need to let the maids know to clean your room and they don’t come and ask automatically and they do not change your sheets. AC is very old and Barley works

Positive: I like the location of the hotel. Extremely convenient since its in downtown Philly. Easy access to nearby restaurants. The hotel is clean and modernize, just like the pictures. Hotel staff friendly and Helpful.. The hotel is under construction is and remodeling but for the price you pay for a central city hotel its worth the money. They should advertise on their website that the pool is closed for construction. The hotel is located in downtown area and as such there is a homelessness problem. However, this does not affect the inside of the hotel, the hotel cannot control this as that is a city wide problem and security at the hotel was adequate. The hotel manager gave us a great tip on a bus service called Mega bus to go into New York City for the day. It was easy and convenient and much less expensive than the train but an upgrade from public transport or the greyhound bus.

Marriott Downtown Philadelphia is a hotel Ive frequented in the past. I has looking forward to a comfortable room and better than average service. The room lived up to my expectations but maintenance was substandard. The pump shampoo dispenser that is attached to the shower wall was coming off. They fixed that during the day when I was out. I plugged in my devices to the plugs on the desk overnight and woke up to everything dead. I scrambled to plug everything in to the outlets on the bedside lamp so I could have some life during the work day. I picked up the phone to call in a request for maintenance but the phone system was down throughout the property. By the time I was able to speak with a rep it was late and I was checking out the next morning. This was a go to hotel in Philly and Im disappointed I had a poor experience.

For the first time after a long time as a bonvoy member I had a really bad experience with Marriott hotels. In the checking they changed my rate. I got moved twice because issues with the room. The first one had the toilet dirty and the second one had the ac malfunctioning. The mini bar was frozen. The vending machine on floor 21 doesn’t work. Pool closed. One of the main entrances is disabled so we had to walk around the building with the baggage. The hotel is a total disappointment.Won’t stay again.

The hotel itself was pretty nice. It was large and quite beautiful, however, our stay wasnt that great. Firstly, we were not made aware when we booked that the hotel was under renovations. That didnt end up being an issue, but we were also not informed on what specific amenities were going to be taken away. The pool was closed, and housekeeping was unavailable. When we did request housekeeping, they did not refresh our soap or toilet paper. We were there for 12 days, so this was inconvenient. Also, the beds were uncomfortable, and the customer service was poor.

Our first time in Philadelphia and we had a great stay! The staff was very friendly, the hotel was in a convenient spot with a lot of restaurants/stores within walking distance, and the room was decorated nicely. Paid a significant amount of money for a high room with a view only over the hotel itself and other amenities in the room which were not available to us. Was put in a room right next to the stairs in a high leveled room. Could hear every person coming through the stairs door up until 3am…. Not sure why anyone would walk 15+ flights up. The sound from the door was so loud, and shook our door that it sounded like someone was coming in the entire night. The valet parking is very slow, it took 15/20 minutes just for someone to take the car and park it. Besides all of this, the hotel staff was very nice.

It is my first experience at the Marriott Downtown and it has been very poor. First, the elevators have at least a 20-minutes wait. Second, there is no room service at all. Third, there is no restaurant open within the hotel that serves food. Fourth, the customer service has overall been very poor. I am very disappointed and would rather not stay at a marriott hotel going forward. We understand the Covid-19 Pandemic, but as a business, you are in an industry where other competitors offer better service and courtesies even with the current pandemic. There is no excuse for the lackluster service.

This hotel does not tell you you will not have access to amenities when booking but they let a paper at check in do it for them. None of the staff are wearing masks and they don’t care to check if your vaccinated to follow state mandate. Why close down amenities if your staff doesn’t even wear masks?? You really must care about guest safety. Not. This place is a joke. The use “safety” as a means to take your money and not give you what you paid for. This place is packed full of people. The second day I was there the ac went in the whole hotel. I went downstairs to ask about the heat in my room and I was rudely informed this. They could have at least put signs by the elevator for guest to be aware of. Slept that night on the floor infront of the fan. Next morning still no ac and decided to check out. There was ac in the hall but not my room. They didnt offer to move me rooms or see if it was working in my room. They offered no fans or compensation. When I checked out I paid the $429 bill for 2 nights. It is a nice hotel and quiet, but wait for the construction to be over. They are poor communicators and offer no assistance when there is a major issue.

I normally drive through Philly but decided to stay overnight. Well this hotel is beautiful. Everything is overpriced but I’ve become accustomed to that while traveling. Valet Parking is $56 a night. The parking garage across the street is the same so why don’t use the hotel valet system? The hotel DID NOT have the pool open, and seems to have some renovations underway. None of the restaurants were open and one of the elevators was missing the railing. 🤷🏾‍♂️My room seemed to be clean for the most part but 2 Minor Issues that gave it this rating.1. Markup or something on the pillow. 🤨2. Not fully vacuumed. And just to nitpick I’ll add a 3rd… The shampoo dispenser seemed to have dirt or color spots on it. 🤨 (1 & 2 are pictured)The hallway garbage was overflowing and smelled bad. City location is a solid A+ and the person handling my check-in was truly wonderful, but beyond that I was not dazzled . . . at all. While arranging my tote to check it at the front desk, security advised I couldnt sit in the lobby until registered (which I was preparing to do). Zero signage at elevator corridors to indicate room # directions. No waste can in bedroom (I noticed when trying to toss a few items left by previous guest). Early morning alarm still set, but I should have checked for that myself. Hello 5:45am!! My television and/or remote didnt work. No hand soap at sink, but you can use the pump in the shower. Some good pre-arrival info failed to mention nowhere to print boarding passes (oddly, front desk team next morning was unaware). Zero in-house food options, but multiple locations are nearby. This hotel thrives on convention traffic (currently non-existent) and now relies on guest service skills to impress. They were shuttered for many months, and perhaps lost that knack. Simple things like a Thank You can go a long way, and dont cost a dime. One single request I made via e-mail, app text, and at front desk went unfulfilled. It was my 4th Philly trip in 2020/2021 and first at this property. Ill just call it a One & Done, and Ive already booked for #5 elsewhere. Multiple Marriott properties in the area if youre strong on that brand like I am. I do suggest the book Be Our Guest (DI - Kinni) for this management/training team. Might come in handy until your convention peeps start to arrive again, because they often choose you for a different reason. I will also add that while walking extensively in this area, I felt personally quite safe, but we all must use common sense there.

My only issue was really with parking. When we pulled up there were other cars in line. When the individual asked us to move up a car cut in front of us. Not sure if it was a patron or employee but the same thing happened when we picked up the car. Just recently I enjoyed a delightful 2 night stay at the Paris Gare de Lyon and 10 nights at the Courtyard by Marriott in Montpellier, France. Earlier in the year there were others.
