This review is from a volunteer point of view as I have been helping out with their ¨meals on wheels¨ program every Tuesday since my work temporarily closed due to Covid a few months ago. I have seen firsthand the crazy amount of work the staff here puts into not only packaging what really seems like an infinite amount of meals together according to an equally infinite amount of dietary requests & suggestions of their clients, but also a delivery list route for each volunteer to follow, mapping out the drop offs in the most convenient order. Sure it can get hectic & there may be a wait while they get your deliveries together, but with the amount of people they are feeding, it´s to be expected & nothing at all to complain about. While I will shortly be heading back to work & will have to stop the volunteering, I am extremely thankful to Klein Branch for allowing me to help out for the months I did & would highly recommend anyone looking for volunteer work to do it here.
I have been going for therapy for many months also using my silver sneakers.Therapy is great .The only issue I have is the pee smell in the showers and toilets. It needs disinfecting and wider shower curtains .As many times as Ive seen a cleaning person walking by only never going in the changing room and showers.I bring my own spray bottle which i wish i didnt need to.I would give a 5 star if the place was more focused on sanitation
The amenities are almost endless and there are numerous services that I would have never expected. Its no longer a standard community center, and has drastically expanded their horizon. Although Ill probably never get the chance to utilize all of them, theres a chance for anyone to get what theyre looking for. Whether its a pool, a gym, event planning, or medical concerns - youll, likely, be in good hands. Id rate it 5 stars, if it were a bit more modernized, but Id easily rate it 4.5 stars - if Google provided that option.
Very Nice! I was invited to a dance recital and the theater was nice. Everyone was very friendly.
There are many activities and programs at the JCC but my favorite it counterstrike conditioning. It is a youth and adults strength and condition gym. If you have an athlete in your family this gym will help with their performance! Check it out! Lee Zimmerman is amazing!
I highly recommend this place but the quality of the clientele has been declining by the decade. You do not have to be Jewish to join or attend.
The KleinLife Gym trainer inspire, motivate and energize me like no other exercise center Ive ever experienced.
Terrible experience with the camp. The children go swimming unsupervised. The camp director was rude and obnoxious. Its impossible to ever reach a camp counselor during the day and there were days when my son came home starving. My son was pulled out of the camp after two weeks and I was never able to get my money back. Definitely the worst experience weve ever had, I actually refuse to walk back into the building as a result of this.
In Home Supportive program of KleinLife is really great!! Highly appreciable.
Great place the people who use the building are really rude. Customers who shop are really rude.
I grew up at Kleinlife. When we moved to US, this community center gave us free membership for gym and swimming pool. I took ballroom dancing, table tennis and swimming lessons here, saw a lot of great shows, and even got a chance to play a small part in one of Mikhail Kozakovs last plays. This place has so many great activities for both children and adults. I really love Kleinlife, it is like my second home.
My major reason for being a member of Klein JCC is the opportunity to visit the pool and sauna. I’ve found these activities, if attended regularly, to be most beneficial in maintaining good physical shape. In the beginning of October, 2014 I began experiencing problems with my right foot that prevented me from visiting JCC. After there was no improvement for several weeks, I went to the doctor and to my great disappointment found out that I have a stress fracture in my right foot toe. It became clear that my regular visits to the pool will be interrupted for at least a couple of months. Thus I stopped at Klein JCC, turned in my membership card to the clerk at the reception desk and asked whom I should talk to with regard to the extension to my membership for the duration of my ailment. I was told that the right person to talk to is Mrs. Victoria Faykin. Her business card revealed a long and impressive title: VP of Business Development, Member Relations & Russian Services. The clerk said that she is going to give my membership card to Mrs. Faykin and that I should expect a phone call in the near future. And that was the moment my problems with Klein JCC started. For the next month and a half I didn’t hear from Mrs. Faykin and made no attempts to contact her. But in the beginning of December when I began to feel better I called Mrs. Faykin and left a message on her phone. Since I got no response for the next two days, I decided to visit JCC. On Friday, December 5 at about 11am I stopped at the JCC reception desk and asked for Mrs. Faykin. I was told it is too early, usually she arrives around 12-1 pm and stays until 6-7 pm. I was also told that she called recently, is on her way to work, and is expected in her office soon. Because of uncertainty in the situation, instead of waiting at JCC, I decided to leave and wait at home for Mrs. Faykin’s call. My hope was that since I have just visited JCC, workers at the reception desk would remind Mrs. Faykin of my existence and this would result in a call from her. My expectation did not materialize, however, and around 3 pm I decided to visit JCC again thinking that by this time Mrs. Faykin should be surely at work. I was wrong again, Mrs. Faykin was not there. It was suggested that I leave a written note that will be passed to her. I put in writing the same message I left on the phone several days earlier and gave it to the reception desk clerk, but to no avail. I have never heard from Mrs. Faykin – not during that day (Friday, December 5) and not during several following days (Monday through Wednesday, December 8-10.) I want to underline that during my visits to Klein JCC, the personnel at the reception desk did whatever they could, trying to establish contact between me and Mrs. Faykin. Unfortunately, they did not succeed.Although I thought (and still think) my extension in membership request was reasonable, this is not my main beef against Klein JCC. The uppermost beef is Mrs. Faykin’s arrogance reminiscent of what I have experienced in the Soviet Union. Soviet bureaucrats’ mentality always presumed invincibility no matter what. I believe it is about time to remind Mrs. Faykin where she lives and what are the working place ethic rules in the United States. One more point. I have reasonably good command of English and can take a stand for myself. It is not difficult to imagine what kind of service an elderly person from Russia with no connections in the USA can expect from such an executive as Mrs. Faykin.
Many great programs
Horrible service not good
Basketball court is lit AF
