The Avis location was closed so the stars go to the young lady at the Budget Car Rental counter. She was very kind and professional. The car I rented was not cleaned prior to my pick up. There was chewed gum under the armrest in the back seat, food splatter on the dashboard, and crumbs on the seats and carpet. You would think during COVID, cleanliness would have been a priority. First and probably last time renting from Avis.

I had a really bad experience with AVIS.This is my second time using AVIS. I returned my car on time. However, the AVIS counter was closed and a sign there instructed me to return the car to Budget. Three days later they told me they could not find the car and charged me $60 for not returning and an additional $24 for not filling the gas without any notice (either by email or mail). Called the customer service three times and got disconnected twice for no reason.

Got to this Avis location this morning and there was a sign that said the location was closed and to see the location on 17th street. No warning. Avis’s system definitely seems to be unaware it’s closed and overall it was a big hassle.Edit: It turns out you could get the reservation by going to the Budget booth, but the lines seem to be constantly long.

This was a great weekend deal that also included the Labor Day Holiday. I rented the car over that holiday. The car was spotless and so easy to learn the features for a person who is sometimes technically challenged, like me. It got great highway mileage and only burned about a 1/4 tank of fuel for a trip that was 4 hours round trip. Burned a little more in the city but all in all gas mileage was wonderful for a SUV. Best of all it has a great sound system. Good music with a good sound makes any long distance ride a piece of cake!

Just a warning Avis and budget will not honor your reservation even if they have cars available. Ive been renting cars for 20 years for business and personal. Back in the days Avis and Budget would give you the next class car available if theyre sold out. They wont they just lie and say they have no cars available. The sales counter emoloyee is supposed to give you the car but they dont. This is why avis gives you a reservation because they know that the cars are on the lot. Then when you get there they will say there not on the lot and there sold out is a total lie. The sales employment simply does not want you to have the car available. essentially if its a SUV on the lot and your reservation was for a intermediate.

I just restarted my small business and will be renting cars regularly from Avis at your 30th Street Station . This most recent rental was the second in a month and I will need another weekly rental the first week of December. Despite being a preferred member and reserving well in advance, the choice of cars available at off airport locations is really bad. High mileage, beat up. The last time out I was offered an Impala with nearly 24,000 miles with a pretty strong odor in it. I finally got a Fusion Hybrid which also had an odor that smelled like somebody had dumped a bottle of disinfectant in it. That required me to drive in November in Philadelphia with the windows down. My choice was to bring the car back to 30th street, where I knew nothing else was available, or call to see if I could switch the car at the airport, which is a huge hassle and would take a great deal of time. I had a similar situation the last time I rented there. I was told that all of the good cars had been taken back to the airport. Three strikes and you are out. If this happens again, I am taking my business elsewhere. I can get a high mileage junker for a lot less money from other companies.

I rent a car on a weekly basis for work and this may be my last time renting with AVIS. Two weeks ago, I walked into the AVIS location at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia to pick up my rental. At the counter I am informed the car had already been picked up. It turned out they gave away my reservation to another customer with my last name. They also informed me that they had charged to rental to MY credit card. For such a big mistake I would think the person at the counter would be accommodating. Instead, I am told the counter cannot help me and I would have to call customer service. While still at the rental location, I call customer service only to be transferred 3 times and then hung up on. I call back and 40 minutes later a representative decides to open a case for me. At this point, the agent on the line asks me if I have any proof that I didnt pick up the car. Instead of rectifying the situation, I am being accused of taking the car. Finally get off the phone and go back to the counter to rent another car, however I am informed that since there was already a car rented out in my name they are not able to rent me another car. After sometime the person at the counter is able to do an override to rent me a car. In a few days, I am reimbursed the rental charges for the car that I did not rent but was charged to my credit card. I noticed the toll charges were not reimbursed so I call back and I am told that I will need to call PENNDOT to get a reimbursement or except a coupon. Reluctant to be on the phone I reluctantly take the coupon. Following week, I go back to the AVIS location to rent a car for the week and I am informed my previous rental was not returned. I ask for more detail and I am told to call customer service AGAIN. I call again to find out that there are no other cars rented to me. On top of all this most cars I rent from that location smell like cigs and weed. In short, I would not recommend AVIS.

What I love about Avis is their selection of cars which are high quality and no maintenance. I have rented vehicles from them on a regular basis and each car I get is always better than the last one. Free mileage is a plus. Use of their website for making reservations, getting confirmations and receipts are great as well. Customer service is very efficient and pleasant.

On at least two occasions, I have returned a car to this location during normal business hours, and the car was never checked back in. On one occasion, I handed the keys directly to an employee who obviously never completed the check-in process. The car was not checked back in until 8 days later, and I was hit with an additional $650 in late fees that I had to spend two weeks clearing up with corporate. On the second occasion, yesterday, I returned the car during normal business hours, but the rental desk was left totally unmanned, forcing me to leave my keys in the after-hours drop box. The car has still not been checked-in almost 24 hours later. Further compounding the problem, this location does not answer their phone. I would not recommend this location until Avis remedies the problems.

Our train was delayed three hours and we got to the rental place at 3:50 and the people who worked there decided to leave 10 minutes early and we had no way to get our rental car. We ended up driving to the airport to get a rental. Be careful if you want to rent a car from here

Avis has been good business for my company.I have been renting from Avis for the pass three years at least once a month.The cost has been very good with all the discount programs.I am a first, and preferred business customer with Avis; so I receive all typesof benefits(reward days, two day weekends and third day free).Avis is smart business.

Dropped a vehicle off here recently and the employees went above and beyond for us after we had an issue. Also the staff in Scranton, PA really helped me out. After totaling my vehicle it was nice to deal with a very nice staff. Thank you.

We went there for a last minute rental after our reservation was cancelled by another company. Rental was easy and they accept French cards (that are refused in many other companies because they are not credit card since our system works differently).

Doesnt seem as if the front desk guy knows much about prepaid rental. directed me to a 1800 #. I used to be able to get rental early if I arrived early, but seems now they are adopting the phylosophy and thinking of banks, where youre charged for every little thing!

Easy check out via online reservation, although the spot at 30th street should not have big SUVs such as a Yukon XL.... somebody is gonna bang a rental truck up just trying to get out the that tight parking garage.

Got None of the Cars Our Group Booked and Prepaid - Forget AvisOur group booked and prepaid for 4 cars. We got none of them. The staff onsite just said that her co-workers were supposed to bring them but did not. The staff were unhelpful and apathetic - did nothing to try and resolve the situation. They just didnt care. We had issues booking new cars with our credit card. Staff insisted its not valid. We had no issues with Hertz. Forget Avis. Go Hertz or somewhere else.

Beware!!! I rented from this location from Friday to Monday. My agreement was for $218.00. They didnt close out ticket until 6 days later, resulting in them charging my card $787.00 over the rental amount for a total of $1005.00. Im still fighting them trying to get that money credited back to my card. They seldom answer the phone and manager has not been back in touch with me. I dont have that kind of money to give away to them. Run! away from this place. Never avis again. Would give it negative stars I would. -

I initially had a bad experience with a woman who worked there on Presidents Day. She was working front desk and was to by me that I made mistake. I thought her attitude was not good and vice versa. In any event she.callled me back and said she corrected the problem. She sounded nice and we were able to smooth out any issues. That bumped it back up. Im forgiving when someone apologizes and it seems as if she was too. All is well that ends well

If I can give this place a negative, I will . The man at the desk needs to be sent for training. Very rude and arrogant . I have never seen someone act so unprofessional at a place of work like that.I have been using Avis for years and so will not give Avis overall a negative. But the location is worst. Having the same bad customer service three times in a row is not a coincidence.

Avis Phila 30th street Can be higher than Airport sometimes. I have rented from Avis for literally 10 year plus and have had a rental for 2 years straight no taking back . So my review is from a long term experience. Im a corporate member also. I wanted to warn those who use there internet service to book a car. NEVER USE IT. TOTAL CON ITS NEVER THE BEST PRICE AND THEY PROFILE THE CAR YOU LIKE TO MAKE IT HIGHER..ALWAYS BOOK BY PHONE AND MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR DISCOUNT FROM ANY MEMBERSHIP CLUB ( LIKE COSTCOS ) They accept different memberships so ask first. Also never give them your membership number until after they give you a price This way youll know if they discounted it.. Since Im a long term renter I receive free reward days but they wont let me use it on black out days such as xmas, thanksgiving or anytime where they can make the most money, which is ridiculous and unfair. I have spent lots of money with this company and should be able to use my free days when I want to.

I returned the car on time and with more gas in the car than I given when I rented the car. I was charged $40.81 extra. I wouldnt have know if I didnt check my credit card statement. This particular rental site over charges a lot.
