Been getting a cut from this place for 18 years now. Plenty of good barbers in there but JB is the best!

Alim great barber, takes his time, when cutting my sons hair. Other barbers are on point too.

The barber was polite,very patient with my grandsons shapeup. We also went upstairs to Chanae she did a excellent job twisting my grandsons hair. Im going to go there to get my hair twisted.

Walked in, no customers were there, just 3 people who appeared to work there. Dude closest to me/the door was sitting in a barber chair on his phone. No one looked up, no said anything. I said “hello, do you work here?” He reluctantly looked up from his phone to reluctantly reply “yes I do.” I said, “ooo...Kay? Are you working...right now? Is there someone else I can talk to?” He replied, with attitude, “your supposed to make an appointment.” No mention of that at all on their website. He then proceeded to reluctantly give me a mediocre cut. A wack, uncomfortable experience for no good reason!!

I have been bringing my son here for awhile and I truly like this place. My son loves getting his haircut. T makes my son feel very special when he cuts his hair. Just observing the atmosphere of the shop I see that these guys are not just their clients barbers. I made the right decision to bring my son here. I am sure Nevan will grow up in Ts chair as long as hes there.

I wish I could have given this place a better review, considering how much I liked the people and atmosphere but the quality of my haircut was so poor.I informed the barber that I had some product in my hair and he made me get a $5 shampoo/wash instead of just using a spray bottle and comb to straighten things out. Once that was done, I asked for a bald fade. The barber took over an hour (which is usually a good sign) and then gave me the mirror when he was finished. He didnt blend any of my sides in and his lines were sloppy. I asked him to fix it up on the sides and he took another half hour for that. I came home and had to fix my lineup myself. I was about to take a picture of it and post it here, but I just wanted to get rid of it. I also had to fix an entire patch of my hair that was missed on the side, as well as the areas above my ears.When it came time to pay, he said that they no longer accepted card and didnt offer any payment apps. They have PayPal signs up on their mirrors, but this seems to be a cash-only spot. Fair enough. I went next door to the ATM because I was $5 short (go figure). Then, I came back and had to wait around for the barber to get change from next door.I hate giving bad reviews, especially when the people are great but this was a frustrating experience. Hopefully they figure it out.

I came here because I saw good reviews all over google. I called prior and said the type of haircut I get and if there is someone I can book with or should I just walk in. I was told to walk in, so I did and was sent to the second floor. Needless to say, I got the worst haircut of my life. I get a simple tape up, 2 on the sides, and the top scissored down to medium length. I sat in this hot uncomfortable seat getting my simple haircut for an HOUR. I was blasted with hairspray twice during the cut and I still have absolutely no idea why. He cut up into my hair and it is ridiculously uneven on the top. The man didn’t even know how to use scissors on the top. He then charged me $25 for this atrocity of a haircut. Mind blowing. I’m sure not every barber in the shop is this bad but I really don’t understand how you don’t see the work this man is doing on people’s hair. I figured I would try Philly Cuts out instead of driving 2 hours home to go to my main barber. Terrible mistake.

Came in from Boston with my two sons 13 and 15, and they got the best haircuts of their lives. I would definitely recommend them. There was a great feel and good energy to the place.

Walked in went to the second barber from the door and received one of the worst hair cuts in my life. I did notice some other people getting good quality cuts. Guess I went to the wrong person.The lack of integrity of the barber I went to is evident but whatever you do don’t go to the second barber from the door.👎🏿

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’m new to the area so I’m not sure if things are done differently, but every barbershop I’ve been to, a barber has always greeted me and ask if I have an appointment and if not, they would tell me how many people are ahead of me. Not one single barber acknowledged me even after shaking a few hands. It was almost as if none of the barbers wanted to cut anyone’s hair that day except their regular clients.

I just moved to University City and I needed a barber in the area. I saw Philly Cuts on Facebook so I decided to give them a try. Maurice was my barber. He asked me questions about what type cut I wanted and when I wasnt clear on barber terminology, I showed him a few pics on my phone and went with a cut suitable for my face. Im a very happy with my cut! 😁 And he didnt make me look like a boy lol. Im gonna bring my husband for a straight razor shave.

I really loved the service i recieved. My son is special needs and the barbershop was pretty busy, but they accomdated him and serviced him within 5 mins. No one stared at him or treated him less then. I truly appreciated that, beca3ive experienced that at other barbershops. In addition, something that really touched me was when the owner or manager (I assume) came in and greeted EVERY SINGLE PERSON individually...even my son, and i dont think he even knew my son was special needs. I was sold!!!! My search for a reliable barber with a comfortable atmosphere is over....were here to stay! Thank you Philly Cuts!!!!

Came to this place today walked in @ 9:44am and was waiting until I walked out @ 11:44am with no haircut @ all. Only person acknowledge me was the shampoo lady and when I asked one barber by the shampoo station if he had anyone after the client n the chair he said he was leaving so I’m checking other barbers out and I was just about to ask another barber but he had appt clients so being respectful to waited but I seen another barber and he had clients with appts so I’m saying to myself wait this place always on Instagram saying how they open on sundays sounds like it’s a appts only on sundays so while I’m there I never got notice @ all from any barber so I walks out @ 11:44 and will never return back. They need more training in acknowledging new clients

Went there for a simple cut with my man and i must say my stylist Jas was totally unprofessional!!!! She asked for my mans number and started calling and texting him!!!!!!!! Id be wrong if I popped up at the shop! NOT what customer info should be used for you guys need to do better with who you let in there. Ladies dont bring your men there the disrespect and thirst is real. And my cut was NOT what I asked for. SMH

Hair stylist, Keisha Anderson is fabulous. She is concerned about keeping your hair healthy and is current with the latest styles.However, the parking in the area is horrible.

The reviews below are from other barbers !! Really crappy barber the guy in the second chair on the right.. charged 10.00 and did absolutely nothing to my beard.... The machine he used was cheap... He lined it up crappy and I had to specifically ask him to trim my beard so its even .. He should be fired or hand out free hair cuts to prove he is worthy to be in this establishment

I rarely leave reviews. However, my young sons experience at this shop was so horrible that I am haunted by it. I am new to Philly, and I came here looking for a barber. My son had to sit on a hard wooden board for over an hour. The barber did not have a regular padded cushion that every barber that I have taken him to before uses. Furthermore, the cut had always taken other barbers approximately 20-25 minutes to complete but this barber took more than 3xs as long. In the end, my son was so sore and uncomfortable that he cried out to me from in the chair to tell me that he wasnt comfortable. This was after suffering in silence for over an hour. So, I swiftly removed my son from the barbers chair as the barber expressed to me that he wasnt finished. As far as I was concerned, he was done! Additionally, services were given that I did not request, and thesee services also added to my sons nightmarish experience, which I learned later. So, if you are considering taking your child here, please do not allow them to sit on a wooden board and request another barber. This barber was not child-friendly and seems more suitable for adolescents or adults (patrons who are more likely to speak up when something is wrong ). Also, please check-in with your child to make sure they are comfortable. Lastly, if something does not feel right, please intervene. I would like to mention the other barbers seemed fine and the place was clean. However, my son will never return. We will continue our search for a good barber in our area, and I will be sure to ask questions before any service is provided!

My 4 year old daughter got her hair done by the hair stylist/kid hair stylist Fatimah and shes very UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! She was about 4 hours late to the shop, when she finally arrived at the shop, she conversed with other employees, left to get the lunch for her and other employees that took between 30-45 minutes without any notice that she was even leaving. After my daughter started getting her done, she began and continued to take about her very PERSONAL LIFE (her boyfriend or whoever) plus stopping my daughter hair to show me pictures of the guy, complaining about how she HATES when kids go to sleep while in her chair and hits NOT TAP BIT HITS my daughter to try to wake her up. She pushed her to go in front of the backdrop for a picture. She told my daughter that she couldnt ask her any questions because she ask too many questions and that the questions shes asking is soooo annoying. She told her that she couldnt talk anymore. She was sooo mean to my daughter. My experience with FATIMAH was TERRIBLE AND UNFORGETTABLE. The owner/manager KEISHA was very PROFESSIONAL AND PLEASANT. I WILL NOT BE TAKING MY CHILD BACK.
