Completely destroyed my hair line, I would have rather been completely bald than to have a haircut from this place. Haircut was so bad that I’m on Google telling NO ONE to go there.

Even though this isn’t near me, I will be 💯% be making the trip here in the future.Very reasonable & fair prices with superb service is the complete total barbershop package! Not only are they talented but they share tips n tricks, as well they have whatever grooming things you may need. Hopefully they have some tutorials/classes coming up to help us learn how to keep our look clean between appointments.💈 🏅

Kudos to the owner of 1617. He runs a very efficient operation that is customer centered. He holds his barbers and stylists accountable for offering a service that is mindful of customers time and money. The shop is also very clean and there is none of the shenanigans that are present in other shops Ive frequented. Keep up the great work.

Im currently a barber here @ 1617 Barbershop. We have strict rules concerning Covid, clients and potential clients. We run a professional operation and our main goal is top notch service and minimal distractions.

4 star cut, 3 star service.Legend was great. Though the haircut not what I wanted (cut WAY too low). Legends cut was SHARP and CLEAN.But though the website says they accept card, when it was time to pay it was cash only. I had no cash and had to leave my stuff in the store to go to an ATM. Also my hair cut took SO LONG, I decided not to get the design because I was exhausted.

The place is really nice first time there.. barber shop in the front. And the hair stylist khadijah in the back.. I will definitely go back..

Ive been to a wide variety of barbershops in Philly but this one just doesnt seem to care. They messed up my beard so bad I shaved it off to grow it back again. Basic skill of a barber is to be able to have your hair come out even all around. They couldnt even do that. Please and thank you are not part of their vocabulary but you will here the word jawn every other sentence. Get the picture?

I called and asked if they had an open chair and the man said there would be a barber to accommodate me.?.? Thats not answering my question so I asked again and he said the same thing again. Came and had to wait 30min before I left. Now Im late for work and my son doesnt have his hair cut because someone couldnt be hones and answer a simple questio.

The barbers are friendly and very professional

Very uncomfortable experience. The barber was asleep when I walked in, he burned my neck with his shavers and he never had me facing the mirror while he cut my hair so I was completely surprised at the end when he showed me a messy, uneven, and pain haircut that he charged me $25 for. You can find someplace better, trust me.

Nice little barbershop on Temple Universitys Campus. Got a nice cut. Reasonable prices and Ill be back again when I need a haircut. My barber Frog was a nice barber. I recommend going here.

If you need somewhere for an affordable cut, this place is it. Went here after school and they HOOKED ME UP! Good clean shop with people that cut clean and fast.

Specifically told the barber I wanted enough on top to comb and he tried to give me a line up. Ended up looking like I joined the marines. If you like line ups go for it but if you need literally anything else find a different location.

Barbers interact well with customers, no appointment unless if you are seeing a specific barber that you have seen before. They are great with kids of all ages. Frog does a great job!

Been going here for years and they only get better. Have followed their lead barber through multiple shops until he finally opened up his own place. Interior is clean and professional and everyone treats each other with respect and courtesy. Big mix of clientele and all are welcome.

When you go in the door says they take cards, when you go to pay they don’t take cards. Because of this I had to run across the street to use the ATM, so overall my haircut cost me $32.00, and this $32.00 haircut was an asymmetric haircut. I ended up with a haircut that was uneven. I would not come here again.

Walk in or make an appointment. Its a welcoming atmosphere and you wont be there all day, even when its crowded. And it does get crowded because the barbers can cut.

I have gone here twice now, and both times gotten my hair cut by Chris. I cannot explain how good of a job he has done, especially since I can be picky when it comes to getting my hair cut. Everyone in the place is very professional and they keep a super clean environment. I am coming from outside of Philadelphia and I was extremely lucky to have found this barber shop.

The owner is very rude, he tells me that African are pitty, and Tha after I paid $20 for the charge and $5 tips for the barber. I am never stepping in there Also If you’re paying with credit card save yourself from insult. Don’t go there.

1617 barber shop one of my favorite places lot of people there the owner of the barbershop is my best friend. Hes a friendly guy gets along with everybody makes me feel comfortable I have love in my heart for my little brother the other young men there or very friendly.

Got a simple 3 and a 5 haircut. Was charged for my beard since the barber cut some of it while taking off my side burns. When I got home I had multiple huge patches of uneven hair that I had to trim down myself. Do not recommend for anyone that is a Temple student.

Went in on a sunday. Noone there except a guy getting a haircut. Barber refused me service. Said im not cutting that type of hair im white. 50 year old combat veteran. Im used to my hair veing cut with clippers. I suppose its ok to discriminate against whites here. Shame i was looking for a good barbershop. (im not dirty, unkempt or crazy looking. )in this day and age,If the same had happened to this gentleman if he went to a predominantly white barbershop.,and had been told we dont cut that kind of hair there would be an issue, it wouldve been newsworthy. Weak minds need double standards. Anyhow, ill continue to go to northeast and give the nice Vietnamese folks my money. Oh well

Got the worst haircut i’ve ever received today. I asked the barber to leave two fingerlengths on the top and he took a clipper to my hair leaving me with less than one finger length on the top. also asked him to thin out the top which he ignored. This barbershop is not worth the money they charge, the seat i sat in was broken and the haircut sucked. Never going here again.

At 16 17 you always get the best professional and the best hospitality and service that you can never get in Philly from a barber shop Talib been cut my hair for 14 years and hes good

One of the hair braiders there, Tianna Reese is not professional what so ever. I showed her a picture of what I want and she said she could do it. Thinking she was a professional I believed her. When she was done I had about 30 braids on my head, mind you I wanted box braids and she had the nerve to charge me $80 and when I asked for more braids she wanted to charge me another $80. She is very unprofessional and I would not recommend her AT ALL! I am very disappointed with the amount of money I spent because it was not worth it!!

This place made my hairline look like the Nike swoosh. My hairline looked like a theme park. Roller coaster hairline i started charging people admission every time i would dab em up. Dont waste ur time. Hide ur kids, hide your wife cause they killin hairlines and fades out here. Real talk.

Quite possibly the best haircut I ever got. The guy Jeff was very friendly and while the cut was a little pricey, it was completely worth it.
